Meet the new president of the National Rifle Association, Lt. Colonel Oliver North, USMC (Ret.).
NRA Exec. Vice President Wayne LaPierre made the announcement Monday, calling North a man who strikes “genuine fear into the freedom-hating political elites who so desperately wish for a weakened NRA.”
Based on that description, North seems like the right man for the job.
North will replace Pete Brownell, who opted not to run for a second term so he could devote his “full time and energy” to his family business. Brownell fully endorsed North as his successor.
North will leave his current position at Fox News to focus solely on his new role as the head of the nation’s gun lobby.

“I am honored to have been selected by the NRA Board to soon serve as this great organization’s President,” North said. “I appreciate the board initiating a process that affords me a few weeks to set my affairs in order, and I am eager to hit the ground running as the new NRA President.”
LaPierre praised the NRA Board for its decisive vote.
“The board acted quickly and with great vision,” LaPierre said. “Oliver North is, hands down, the absolute best choice to lead our NRA Board, to fully engage with our members, and to unflinchingly stand and fight for the great freedoms he has defended his entire life.”
“Oliver North is a true hero and warrior for freedom,” LaPierre continued, “and NRA members are proud to stand with him.”

No where in our constitution does it say what they have done and plan to do is legally justified the NRA had their chance to stand against state tyranny. As a life member of the NRA I am greatly troubled by only one major concern. That is the NRA has not only allowed Oliver North to become a member of the NRA but also to become an officer of the association. He is not a man to be trusted. He is guilty of lying/perjuring himself to the Congress, betraying the American people and the United States, disgracing the uniform he wore as a United States Marine, and acted as an agent for the CIA dealing in drugs. These activities are easily verifiable on the Internet. He has been protected from prosecution and Congressional impeachment by the elite clandestine financial power behind the scenes seeking to destroy the United States as we know it, including the Right as a people to defend ourselves from tyranny and violence as guarantied by the Constitution’s Second Amendment. I would be willing to bet anything that when the time comes and he is ordered so to do by the above elite he will betray the NRA and Second Amendment without any hesitation or remorse. God Forbid.

Thank you. Had I known that North would become the next president of the NRA, I would never have renewed my membership a few months ago. This man is a traitor to his country, a consummate liar, and will ultimately, as you imply, turn on the membership at the behest of his elite handlers in the Deep State.

I hope he is able to stop the ridiculous decisions that NRA officials made recently including but not limited to their communist and fascist decision to suggest that the ATF re-evaluate the legality of the bump stock. I am sick and tired of some Fudd who is an official in the NRA supporting gun control and I have confidence in Col. North that he will offset the damage to our second amendment rights caused by these misguided fudds .
I had the pleasure to support Ollie North during his 1994 campaign for the office of U.S. Senator for the State of Virginia. During the fall of 1994, I organized a campaign rally for him with over 1000 turning out to meet and greet Mr. North. I supported him then, as I do now. I spent the entire Saturday afternoon with him, we discussed many issues. I found him to be a “Strong Supporter” of The Second Amendment” Having followed him since 1994, I have observed his continued support for the Second Amendment. Those condemning him on are either misinformed or are liberal scumbags.

I have been shooting most of my life and was a prior NRA member. I dropped out because I got tired of the NRA’s perceived negative approach to working with lawmakers. So I care about North’s ability to work with Congress on common sense reforms whether they be to firearms regulations or laws that deal with sick individuals.
Common sense reforms is just a polite way of saying gun bans.
One thing most folks miss about the NRA and their stand on our freedoms, is that they approach the discussion like the most tenacious Teamster Union rep. You demand, you hold your ground, you force a real debate. Unlike a Teamster meeting though, no one wants to debate the NRA, because then, they would be forced to concede the fact that it not the guns, their access, or their capacities, it is the problem of individuals in a free country. When you examine why the individual has changed from the days when the USPS would deliver a rifle to your door, or you could buy all the dynamite you wanted at the hardware store, you will find the liberal agenda as the root cause of this change, starting in 1963 with Murray vs Curlett. It is just easier to blame the NRA and it’s membership for all the current evil.

Support for NRA is our first line of defense of our 2A rights. However “sensible compromise” is just another way wording for the term “infringement”, an action prohibited specifically by the 2nd amendment. Since 1934 the NRA has compromised time and again, undermining our 2A rights ever so slightly each time and making it easier for the left to bring in the next round of “sensible regulations”. Perhaps Lt Colinel(ret) North can be effective at preventing further “ sensible compromises” which are neither sensible nor compromise but rather are infringements!
