Michael Moore Rewrites the 2A, Calls for Repeal of the Original

Michael Moore handing out hot dogs, probably the only thing he is good for. (Photo: Facebook)

I didn’t want to give the clown free publicity, but at the same time, his blubbering stupidity was too hard to resist. I hope you find this as amusing as I do.

Michael Moore announced on Facebook that he wants to repeal the Second Amendment and replaces it with this:

“A well regulated State National Guard, being helpful to the safety and security of a State in times of need, along with the strictly regulated right of the people to keep and bear a limited number of non-automatic Arms for sport and hunting, with respect to the primary right of all people to be free from gun violence, this shall not be infringed.”

SEE ALSO: Moore: ‘Snipers are Cowards, not Heroes’

LOL. Wait, it gets better. He goes on to say that states and the federal government are allowed to restrict gun ownership in the following manner:

  • As over 90% of gun violence is committed by men, in order for a man to purchase a gun, he must first get a waiver from his current wife, plus his most recent ex-wife, or any woman with whom he is currently in a relationship (if he’s gay, he must get the waiver from his male spouse/partner). This law has greatly reduced most spousal/domestic gun murders in Canada.
  • All automatic and semi-automatic guns are banned.
  • No gun or clip can hold more than 6 bullets.
  • To activate a gun for it to be used, the trigger must recognize the fingerprint of its registered owner. This will eliminate most crimes committed with a gun as 80% of these crimes are done with a stolen gun.
  • One’s guns must be stored at a licensed gun club or government-regulated gun storage facility. Believing that having a gun in your home provides you with protection is an American myth. People who die from a home invasion make up a sad but minuscule .04% of all gun murders in the US. And over a third of them are killed by their own gun that the criminal has either stolen or wrestled from them.
  • To own and operate a gun one must obtain a license (like one does to operate a car). To get a license you have to complete a gun training and safety course and pass a thorough background check.
  • As nearly half of all gun deaths are suicides, mental health care must become a top national health priority and must be properly funded. And by making it more difficult to purchase a gun – and requiring its storage outside the home – easy access during a suicidal moment is denied.
  • Current restrictions placed on the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), due to successful lobbying by the NRA, have prohibited them from studying the gun violence epidemic in the US. These rules need to be removed and the funding restored. Science will then be free to find out why we are ALONE among nations in killing each other at such a massive rate (hint: It’s not just the guns – it’s us as Americans).

Micheal Moore is off his rocker, that’s for sure.  But he honestly believes his own claptrap.  He went on to say that changing the Second Amendment is possible because:

  1. We are not a country of gun nuts. 77% of all Americans do NOT own a gun! If three-quarters of the country has decided they have no need for a gun, three-quarters of the country may also decide they have no need for an archaic amendment that allows retired accountants to own 47 assault weapons. LET’S ORGANIZE THE 77%!
  2. When President Obama tried to get Congress to pass simple, common sense gun control legislation after the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary, polls showed 90% of the country backed him! But the NRA beat him. LET’S ORGANIZE THE 90%!

LOL.  I can’t take Michael Moore seriously.  I really just have to laugh.

It is a right we all share dumbass. Just because you’re too stupid to understand the actual importance of it doesn’t mean the rest of us have to suffer your stupidity!

  • Earl Haehl May 2, 2020, 7:46 am

Essentially, the national guard is a standing army housed by citizens. My son entered the National guard to pay for college. Eight months or so later he was called to active duty in which he learned some good ort Riley jokes and that Camp Funston was where the 1918 influenza found a rail head. He did gt mobilized once for serious flood detail and a couple state events–crowd control in Aggievillle following the KU_K-State game–but the responsibility of the guard company was to grab rowdy uniformed personnel and stick them on a bust back to Fort Riley for the Provost Marshal to deal with.

The definition of militia in 1791 was “the body of citizens trained in arms.”

The definition of well regulated referred to the length of step, the movement into formation, and the deployment of firepower to maximize deadliness. It derives from the fact that the movements of the Continentals which involved walking onto the field like Indians, and making themselves targets rather than a credible army. It took Steuben to change that.

Note that “the right to keep and bear arms” is another definition, however sloppy of militia.

The purpose of the militia is defense of the people from enemies foreign and domestic.

America! What a wonderful country! Full of freedoms our forefathers were smart enough to ensure us. Luckily, Mikie Moore, you have the freedom to freekin leave if you don’t like it here! Do so!

  • Terry Garland October 17, 2017, 7:29 pm

Michael, oh what a piece of garbage that you are. Maybe if we all donate just a little bit from each of us. Say just 1 cent each and then put it all together, I’m sure that as many people who despise you that would be easy to accomplish. Then maybe dear oh Michael would become one of the 50% that uses the firearm on himself. Hey just a thought but one that most everyone would consider “a good thing “. So what do you think Michael??

  • Fred Dietz October 14, 2017, 10:30 am

What we can’t see in picture is that M. Moore just brandished a 9 inch chefs knife to force the lady into handing over the hot dog he’s about to force down his fat face.

  • Joe C October 14, 2017, 7:50 am

  • David Blakeman October 13, 2017, 7:09 pm

Michael Moore is an idiot. Destroying all the guns that you could find in the world will not stop
the violence. Why? Criminals, and Terrorists DO NOT OBEY ANY LAWS, why do you think we
    call them criminals and terrorists?
It would be impossible to find all the guns in the world. Hell!! I can make a working gun
out the junk box in my workshop, all that you would be doing is disarming the the good guys.
The Bad Guys will still be armed. The Human species is a group of warrior apes, we have
been killing each other since we first picked up a rock.
People seem to think that getting rid of the things that we use to kill one another will
cure everything. In that case other things that we use are hammers, axes, knives, sticks,
automobiles, even our hands. Using that logic we would be in a pretty sorry state of
affairs, as Humans still can and will use anything to kill one another. Might as well
    start banning rocks

    • Aardvark October 15, 2017, 3:29 pm

Once they have eliminated murder with gun bans, they can eliminate burglary by confiscating every ones valuables. Sound ridiculous? Then consider Kalifornia’s new law against using the wrong gender term for trannies.

    Interesting….

So ‘Shall Not Be Infringed’ – CAN be infringed – by some fat slob (who STILL tries to help sell the pathetic, ‘Official Lie’ of 9/11)…..But HIS 2nd Amendment ‘cannot be infringed’?

  • Wayne October 13, 2017, 4:27 pm

Michael Moore should be banning forks, spoons and any other utensil that could force food into his fat face. Murder of innocents is a terrible, disgusting cowardly act but, terrorist in Nice France killed 80+, where is call to ban trucks? Distracted drivers on average kill 10 and injure 1000 daily in u.s. where is outrage against cell phones? About one million plus babies are aborted yearly, I hear nothing from the left regarding that ghoulish act

  • Greg H. October 13, 2017, 4:26 pm

Why does the media even give him the time of day anymore? He’s just full of hare-brained schemes to rob the citizens of this country of their freedoms that our forefathers won and preserved for them. If fatso ever had a grip on reality, he let go of it years ago. I’d love to hear how the gun clubs and government-regulated storage facilities are going to securely store the upwards of 1 BILLION guns that are owned by the now estimated 100 million gun owners in this country, while allowing them free access to them.

  • dude October 13, 2017, 12:39 pm

Michael Moron should move his ignorant self to another country, as he said he would do if Trump won the election. He is not competent enough to serve hot dogs, let alone open his mouth. It is his 1st amendment right to say that, as it is mine to say he is a fat blob of wasted flesh.

  • JoshO October 13, 2017, 12:34 pm

Cholesterol will kill this disgusting, fat idiot before a gun does. Maybe he should worry about that.

Really, though, this moron is a ‘never was’ and isn’t worthy of dicsussion. Just another obnoxious no-nothing ban-everything liberal with a gaping cockholster.

  • Sepp W October 13, 2017, 10:37 am

Moore. Another liberal elite lecturing the rest of us about what is right using made-up facts, faux statistics, and appeals to emotion. Moore’s knowledge of Titles 18, 22, 26, 27, and firearms are questionable.
Liberals despise the Constitution, individual rights, and especially the 2nd Amendment. They’ll never admit their end state is total disarming of the people.
Funny thing is not one of them is willing to leave and take up residence in another country that is more suited to their utopian ideology.

  • deerflyguy October 13, 2017, 10:28 am

This confirms what I’ve always suspected. Michael Moore has absolutely no understanding of the reason for the 2nd Amendment. It has very little to do with hunting!

    • Greg H. October 13, 2017, 4:32 pm

      “very little”? How about NOTHING?

  • joefoam October 13, 2017, 10:24 am

Alcohol related illnesses and alcohol related automobile accidents kill thousands every year. Where’s the outage? Tobacco related illnesses kill thousands every year. Where’s the outrage? Narcotics and narcotics related automobile accidents kill thousands every year. Where’s the outrage? The amount of gun related deaths pales in comparison. If you want to make the USA a safer place to live in, lets work on the things that represent the greater danger.

  • Alan October 13, 2017, 9:12 am

    Ok, then we get this.
Congress shall make law defining what a religion is and how it is to be practiced, limiting speech to the truth, especially by any press, news agency or person, and the people may only assemble to protest that which is approved by the Govt.
Moron Moore just has NO idea of human history and the abuses of unbridled Govt.

    • JGinNJ October 13, 2017, 8:11 am

What you say is true, but what he wants to do is amend the US Constitution to remove that right, and essentially make it a privilege (only for the government and the very wealthy) as it is in many other countries in the world.

    • Rattlerjake October 13, 2017, 9:27 am

Actually you are DEAD WRONG! Driving is a RIGHT that has been turned into a privilege! Just because there is not an amendment calling it a right, doesn’t mean it is not a right. States have violated our right to travel by overburdening us with regulations that are only legal for COMMERCE! The Constitution only allows for the government to regulate commerce. The DMV illegally enforces commercial rules and regulations on the private individual. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9kVCQ0y5Ec&t=6s

      • Tyrone October 13, 2017, 10:59 am

Naw, Ted’s correct, driving is a privilege. Yes, you’re correct in that we Americans have the freedom and right to travel about the country as we choose without having to “show your papers, please.” But that is not the same as operating anything more than your feet. All privately owned car/truck/motorcycle/air craft/boat/horse chariot are subject to regulating and licensing to be used and operated by you which makes it not a right but a privilege. Whereas the basic God given principle inherent in the 2ndA. right is for the defense of self, family, community, and country.

\”The CDC’s findings – that guns are an effective and often used crime deterrent and that most firearm incidents are not fatal – could affect the future of gun violence research..\”
https://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/cdc-study-use-firearms-self-defense-important-crime-deterrentWhy Mr. Moore omits this is confusing. So he wants lawful citizens to be defenseless?
And if a CCW/CHL, numbers show they are some of the most law abiding citizens.

Sure why not… lets do that. And at the same time, every restriction you list applies to every government agency as well including the military. What is right for the Go ahead and say that we’re only allowed to use muzzleloaders. Then your socialist and commie friends will get to take over the US and turn us into their puppets. As long as the president of the united states and congress are still humans, they shouldn’t have any rights to make any decisions we can’t make for ourselves. What is right for one is right for all. What is wrong for one is wrong for all. That means your security guards too fatso. And all secret service agents, including the ones that guard the Clintons. Nobody gets a semi-automatic. Oh and by the way, all the tricks that people have made for those bioscanning weapons are semi-automatic, so good luck there.

Really sad, but this has been the agenda and objective of the Liberals, Progressives and other assorted social misfits for many decades now. What I’ve noticed is they have taken baby steps to get where they are today in changing our Constitution. If these “Sandbox Kids” have their way are able to repeal, change or otherwise circumvent the Second Amendment .. This Republic, as we’ve known it, and as Obama promised will be transformed .. totally. I would urge you to look at the EU and how heavy handily Brussels’ policies are, they make Obama and the Progressives policies and regulations look like child’s play. I can assure you that the Progressives believe in Obama’s 2008 statement that the ” Constitution is a charter of negative liberties … it says what the government can not do, but, does not say what the government must do on your behalf….” After I read that, I remember of Mr. Reagan’s remark ..”.. Government isn’t the solution to our problems .. Government is the problem ..”

Those that would hammer their guns into plows will end up plowing the fields of those that didn’t. Thomas Jefferson I don’t think he really said that but it sounds about right.

  • Blue Dog October 7, 2017, 6:58 pm

He started off on the right track but we don’t have to actually rewrite the second amendment. It already says that a “WELL REGULATED” militia being necessary for the security of a free state, the right OF THE PEOPLE to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. That is a collective right of the people in publicly-staffed militias, not of individuals. The original intent of the second amendment did not extend to individuals nor was the second amendment treated like it pertained to an individual right within the courts until the late 20th Century – really until the late Antonin Scalia came to the bench.

Maybe the Academy-award winning documentarian Michael Moore has a point – maybe the limits of the second amendment needed to be spelled out even more explicitly or the language updated to maintain the original intent in a more contemporary vernacular. Slower minds keep to the right indeed.

    • Sick&Twisted October 13, 2017, 3:22 am

You are out of your mind. Wrong on every point you made. The federalist papers along with basic history in America clearly shows us that common everyday folks are in fact allowed to own a firearm. As many as they’d like too. That individuals do not need to be in a Militia to own a gun either. The many debates or arguments throughout our history in regards to guns, always enforce the individuals right. Hence the need being if our federal government became a tyrannical Government. “The people must be well armed with sufficient ammunition to fight.” GEORGE WASHINGTON.never once is it mentioned that the militia should fight. Moore’s 90% is a completely made up number. Since Sandy Hook 13 states have inacted constitutional carry & another 16 more are on the Docket & very likely to pass. So, 26 or 27 states want fewer gun laws. 90%?? BS! Over 50% of the country disagrees with you. 90%?! WTF?! Not to mention that everyday unconstitutional gun laws are being struck down all over this country! Moore pointed out gun violence is astronomically high yet in the same breath he says over 50% are suicides. Of our 32,000 gun deaths a year more like 78% are suicides. You take that number out of crimes with guns, we have more like 6,000 gun crimes a year. In a country of 360 million. Most of that number comes from areas like Chicago, Detroit & Los Angeles. States that already have the country’s strictest gun laws. Obama’s own gun study contacted in joint with the FBI, DOJ & WHO with help from Harvard, in the statistics it was discovered that guns are used between 85% to 91% MORE to safe a life everyday in America. I live in Houston, Tx. Everyday there’s at least 3 stories of Houstonians protecting themselves & their property with firearms. Mr Moore conveniently omits real hard evidence and true facts in regards to this issue. He resorts to quoting liberal liars like “everytown against gun violence” or MSNBC even CNN’s made up BS. It is made up bullshit. Nothing more than leftist propaganda. I could go on & on, all day & all night. You can find these facts for yourself. Checkout the DOJ & FBI statistics or independent studies conducted by left wing nutjob schools such as Harvard or even Stanford. These studies never make the evening national news. Due to the fact that it would destroy the leftist gun narrative that is constantly being shoved down American throats every day. America does not have a gun problem! On the gun issue, America has a leftist propaganda problem. Switzerland has 2 assault rifles & 1 semiautomatic handgun per home. Mandated by their government. They can also carry freely if they wish. Lowest gun crime & overall crime rate in the world! Honduras & Mexico have complete gun bans. Highest crime rate & gun crime/gun death rate in the world.

    • John Stevenson October 13, 2017, 4:07 am

That outmoded reasoning was destroyed by the Supreme Court, in both the Heller and McDonald decisions, which found that the Second Amendment not only guaranteed an individual right of the people, but that the due process clause of the Fourteenth Amendment incorporated that right against the states. In other words, you are simply wrong, and if Michael Moore so admires Canada’s gun laws, then he certainly has the resources to relocate there.

  • Mark N. October 7, 2017, 6:50 pm

What is this “gun violence epidemic” these people keep on going on about? The murder rate in the US is back down to where it was in the 1950s, and less than half what it was in the 1980s.And as Mr. Moore acknowledges, 2/3 of gun deaths are suicides, not “gun violence,” and not murder. Plus (and one of those facts the left doesn’t want to talk about) 85% of “gun violence” (other than suicides) is the result of gang violence. Eliminate that, and was are down right peaceable!

Last but not least, I don’t get his math. He says 90% of “gun violence” is committed by men–and therefore men should get permission from the significant other to own a gun, and that 80% of gun crime is committed with a stolen weapon. Is he suggesting that men steal guns to shoot their significant others? Somehow I don’t think that the statistics will bear that out. And if 80% of guns are stolen, how the hell are all of the restrictions he proposes going to change any of that? If you lock up your guns at the gun club–which is contrary to his revised second amendment right to keep and bear arms for self defense since guns will not be available for that purpose–where do you think the thieves will go to steal them?

  • Martin B October 6, 2017, 4:43 pm

So Mr Moore wants to turn America into Canada. Good luck with that. Americans have never forgotten that they won a war against Britain (no longer Great), using good, old fashioned firepower. And settled and pacified their vast nation using guns every step of the way. Whereas Canada was settled by Anglophiles fleeing the liberty offered by the new American government, and by later peaceful mainly Scots settlers who wanted respite from the acrimonious clan feuds of their homelands. Though they dispossessed Native peoples without a second thought.

One uncomfortable fact not spoken of is that Britain used its colonies as a dumping ground for its criminals. At first America, and the West Indies, and later after the Revolution, Australia. So a high percentage of the population has criminal tendencies. This is obvious from looking at American criminal history. These people did not descend from hearty pioneer stock. And they have been causing trouble ever since. So expecting a peaceful, harmonious society is a little unrealistic. The same as expecting crime to reduce after disarmament in Australia.

So Mr Moore’s epistle is an exercise of hope rather than expectation. If most of the guns suddenly disappeared by some Draconian governmental overreaction to Las Vegas, there would be little difference to the overall death rate from crime, accident and suicide. Other instruments would be used, many less effective, and leaving mangled, disabled bodies in their wake. One would have to outlaw the inherent lawlessness in the American character, which would require genetic modification on a massive scale. Not to say it couldn’t eventually be done, now we have Crisper.

And Mr Moore fails to understand that the requirement of militia was not in defense OF the State, but in defense FROM the State. Something his seemingly reasonable amendments would render impossible. You cannot proceed successfully from a flawed asumption to a workable conclusion. But good on him for trying. Now let the adults speak.
