New CNN Host: Firearms should have GPS Chips, it’s not big brother

Authors S.H. Blannelberry

With Piers Morgan gone, John Walsh plans to pick up the reins as CNN’s new pro-gun control mouthpiece.

Walsh, the host of “America’s Most Wanted,” will join CNN to host a similar sounding crime show called “The Hunt,” which also seeks to track down fugitives from the law.

On Monday, in a meeting with the press, Walsh talked about what he believes is an even-handed approach on the issue.

“I am the guy that has seen both sides of the issue,” said the 68 year old, according to The Wrap. “I own guns. I’m the father of a murdered child. I’ve done nothing but track violence in America since my son was murdered. We have a serious problem with guns in this country. And we refuse to address it. And the NRA solution to arm every grammar-school 80-year-old teacher with a gun is absolutely ludicrous.”

Walsh, who admitted that he is a big fan of universal background checks, discussed a conversation he had with Vice President Joe Biden, Obama’s former point man for the administration’s gun-control agenda.

“I said to Joe Biden, ’90 percent of Americans are for a responsible background check for a gun, and you know what this Congress has done? Not voted on it, not brought it to the floor, not introduced a bill,’” said Walsh. “I said, ‘They’re all scared shitless of the NRA, aren’t they?’”

John Walsh, 68, will be hosting "The Hunt" on CNN.

Walsh told reporters that Biden replied, “John, every one of them. Because the NRA will run a tea bagger against you. … They’ll put 5 million bucks against you.”

Walsh claims to be an avid hunter and someone who enjoys the outdoors.

“I’m a gun owner, I’ve hunted all my life. I hunt quail on my ranch,” he said. “And I am the biggest advocate for background checks out of any gun owner in America.”

To help crackdown on gun-related crime, Walsh believes that every gun manufacture should put computer chips into firearms so that police could track stolen weapons.

“Every one of us have a GPS chip in our cell phones. It’s not Big Brother,” he said.

While it’s not clear how much time Walsh will be spending on advocating for tougher gun laws during his new primetime show, it is clear that he wants his viewers to embrace gun-control reform.

Walsh is simply a fool. He fails to realize what the purpose of the Second Amendment is. That purpose is not for hunting. It is not for protection against criminals. The original adopters considered those things as just “natural”. The originators had just fought a war, a “revolution” against the “legitimate”, though tyrannical, authorities of their government. They wanted to guarantee that the “People” should always have the means to do the same. They knew the power of freedom of press, of speech, of freedom to assemble had to prevent such tyranny. They had used such in the beginning of their “Revolution”. But they also knew that the only real protection of those First Amendment “Rights” was the Second Amendment. The Right of the people to be armed sufficiently to fight our own”legitimate” government’s police and army. Without that right and protection none of the other “Rights” can be protected. Allowing the “arms” to have GPS chips insures that they will eventually be confiscated. It really is as simple as that. People really should read the damn Constitution, and the logic behind each part of it. Personally I think that EVERY school in America that receives ANY Federal dollars should be required to teach that Constitution and the logic behind each part to EVERY student, early in their education. And tested on it before they can graduate. It would also guarantee that all would have at least n ability to read at a basic level, which many cannot before gaduating from public school presently.

all I can say is bullsquat. got that NSA?????????????? you are turkey droppings in my opinion. or aren’t we allowed opinions anymore either?

  • Chuckster August 15, 2016, 10:25 pm

Maybe Walsh thinks getting microchiped at birth might be a good idea too. That’s not Big Brother….. Or is it?

Add John Walsh’s name to the list and move on.

He’s trying to remain relevant, well past his 15 minutes by pandering to the “reasonable” gun control crowd. They have enough laws to be getting on with. As soon as they start enforcing those…cough, cough *Fast and Furious”, cough, cough… We can talk.

Until then, gun control people can jump in a hole and die.

Assume for a moment that Walsh got his wish. Who is going to be plugging in his guns each night so some gps chip has power? My safe doesent have plugs, am i supposed to leave them out overnight to charge?
Imagine when they start getting stolen because some dummy is complying with the spirit of this illconceved notion.

Shall not infringe! The bill of rights does not grant us rights, it prohibits the government from interfering with those rights.

  • Robert Schnebelen July 17, 2014, 9:54 am

——If he wants to pay for it…..but I kinda doubt it…..always someone else’s debt to do what THEY want you to do!

  • Carl Stevenson July 15, 2014, 10:25 pm

Screw him. It IS big brother. GPS in phones has legitimate useful purposes. That big brother uses it to spy on us is dispicable and criminal and should not be tolerated. A GPS in my guns? I think not. Only tyrants intent on disarming everyone to maintain power would advocate such draconian abominations.

    • Harry June 23, 2017, 11:35 am

You can disable the GPS in your phone. It’s not mandatory for its operation.

  • Sean July 15, 2014, 2:47 pm

And when THAT doesn’t work to reduce crime, or to track criminals, how long will it be before Walsh is demanding that PEOPLE have a micro chip installed under their skin, because you know of course, that everyone is potentially a criminal? If this guy ever had a rational thought, his head would split like a watermelon from the strain. Anyone notice how Hollywood types and other media darlings who live high on the hog, have the greatest tendencies to want every one else to be bound by a thousand ropes, when it comes to their personal freedom? Got to keep them peons down, you know. Lord knows what them uppity unwashed nobodies will do. Next.

  • Enough is Enough July 15, 2014, 2:41 am

    Fuck Walsh.

  • Risky Whiskey July 14, 2014, 11:42 pm

John Walsh is now an enemy of freedom and a celebrity-tool of the Bigger Brother agenda. His goal and their goal is to bring America down, wipe the US Constitution from memory, and deliver us broke, hungry and disarmed it to the globalists so they can form their North American Union.

What John Walsh did on America’s most wanted was extraordinary. The murder of his son Adam which launched his celebrity status was truly a tragedy….. but Walsh has now thrown his lot in with those who wish to stamp out liberty and IMHO he needs to be destroyed.

  • Lee Cruse July 13, 2014, 12:37 pm

Well, I wonder if he advocates shooting a shot gun in the air as a warning or shooting though doors when you have no idea what is on the other side?
How many phones are stolen and not recovered every year? I guess the gps chips are not 100%.

  • MrApple July 13, 2014, 12:08 pm

““Every one of us have a GPS chip in our cell phones. It’s not Big Brother,” he said.”
Really? After everything that we’ve been told about the NSA, its monitoring of damn near everything electronic, and this clown has the balls to say that chips in our phones that track us isn’t Big Brother. This man is a joke.
