Overview

Night Force has a long reputation for excellence in the premium rifle scope market, and this year they released something epic. The new ATACR 7×35 with a Horus Tremor 3 reticle.

Getting 35x magnification in such a small package is unheard of, you have to feel this scope to believe it. They packed in 100 minutes of angle of adjustment for elevation, which should get you on target no matter how far your gun shoots. The illuminated reticle now switches from red to green, shooter’s choice. The clarity of glass is hard to judge indoors, but Nightforce hasn’t let me down yet. I also really liked the optional magnification throw lever built in. It seems the scope companies finally got the memo from the competitive side of the house—a throw lever is a must. This one is easy to remove if you don’t like it, but you aren’t out a hundred bucks to a 3rd party for the option.

I am anxious for a full review once the Horus reticles start shipping in May, but this will be one of the stories of the year. $3,600 is a lot, but you only have to buy it once. If this lives up to field testing the way it looks on paper, it is going to be very hard to beat.

I could buy a nice rifle plus have money to buy a nice scope for this price. This is not for poor people.
