Nighthawk is one of my favorite places to stop every year, if for no other reason, the unique twist they put on everything. Nighthawk is by far my favorite of the custom builders, and we are going to make it down to the shop in Arkansas one of these days.
Nighthawk started the party with the Tomahawk, a custom upgraded “firearm”. This model starts like as a Remington 870, which is my own preference in pump action. Using the same logic that allowed the Tac-14 last year, the Tomahawk has a 16-inch barrel and pistol grip, giving it an overall length of 26.1 inches. The action and trigger are reworked by Nighthawk’s magic elf gunsmiths, smoothing out any felt imperfections. Then the barrel is ported, a great addition to guns in this configuration. For a unique look, Nighthawk Cerakotes the entire gun, in a pattern that is to cool for school!

Building from the success of the original Ladyhawk, this year Nighthawk also introduced the Ladyhawk 2. The Ladyhawk isn’t just a pink gun, a color scheme most manufacturers think will instantly sell a gun to female shooters. The Ladyhawk was designed from day one not only for visual appeal but with typically smaller female hands in mind. The rear of the frame has been reduced, making the already slim 1911 fit even better. The finish is black Diamond Like Coating, or DLC, with a rose gold color on the controls. This is a beautiful gun, perfect for the Mrs. Expect an MSRP of $4,695.
