I know I take my wife out to the range and I put and empty gun empty magazine and a box of ammo down for her. I make sure she can comfortably load charge and fire the gun safely as well as clear and secure a firearm proficiently. We have a five year old son the we have just adopted and I need to know that when I’m not around she can keep herself and our child safe. Anyone with guns and a family should be proficient in these same skills. Hopefully she never has to use it but it makes me feel better knowing that she can
