NRA’s Colion Noir Takes On HBO’s Bill Maher

2nd Amendment – R2KBA Authors S.H. Blannelberry This Week

NRA News Commentator Colion Noir appeared on HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher last Friday to talk — well, you guessed it — guns!

Colion did an amazing job! He was poised, articulate and informative, proving why he is perhaps the leading voice of the modern-day pro-gun movement.

What makes Noir so formidable is, yes, his rhetorical brilliance but also the fact that he is eminently likable.  He connects with mainstream viewers, especially millennials, in a way that the old guard at the nation’s gun lobby just can’t.

What Noir accomplished on Friday was no small feat.  Before an anti-gun crowd, Colion was able to dispel common myths about black rifles (the “AR” in AR-15 doesn’t stand for “Assault Rifle,” the difference between full auto and semiauto) thus encouraging the audience to examine its preconceptions about firearms.  Probably no one is going to change his or her mind about guns after seeing one interview yet nudging an individual just enough to think, “Hmmm, I didn’t know that,” may start him or her down a path that leads to a greater understanding of firearms.  Because as Maher openly admitted during the interview, when it comes to guns Liberals don’t know much if anything at all.

Speaking of Maher, he deserves credit too.  He was a gracious host who seemed genuinely curious to learn more about guns and to expose his audience to a dyed-in-the-wool “gun nut.”  There were no gotcha questions.  Maher, who can be very condescending at times, was quite respectful throughout.

While the interview with Maher was relative buddy-buddy, things heated up during the “Overtime” segment.   Noir locked horns with Neera Tanden, the president of the Center for American Progress.  Watch and enjoy.

Mr. Noir should take over LaPierres position with the NRA. He’s brilliant, likeable and well educated on the whole gun argument. He’s a great spokesman for gun rights.

Bill Maher is just another leftist pud who regurgitates the leftist bullshit, he is not only full of shit but he is dishonest as the day is long.

Yep, just like I thought. The first 2 minutes sounded like the left wanted to really hear what we had to say, but then of course, it evolved into a I just want you on the show so I can tell you to your face in the form of rhetorical questions what I think of guns and gun owners. PURE BULLSHIT. They do not want to listen, and had ZERO INTENTION on letting him explain WHY shit it the way that it is. He answered his bullshit rhetorical questions and it didn’t faze Maher whatsoever. He couldn’t have cared less how logical Colion was at all. Colion answered right back every time, and Bill was like uhhh next question. Worthless people, devoid of all logic. I mean are you KIDDING ME?? “Do you really think the U.S. will start confiscating guns?” This is PRECISELY what the Chinese thought, the Russians though, the Jews thought, ya fucking morons. OF COURSE we don’t “think so” because we’re too involved the lives of these dorks in the game of thrones, or the stupid walking dead; until it happens. They say “The U.S. can’t take your guns away anyways!” We KNOW, CUZ WE HAVE MOST OF THEM lol. THAT’S THE WHOLE POINT lol.

On the background check issue, why not open the NICS system to allow private party background checks? This would require software and computer hardware upgrades and some more people to operate but it would allow sellers to do a check on a potential buyer. It would give the seller assurance that they are selling to a non-prohibited person.

It is now that so many maniacs have guns, I am afraid to surrender mine. There was a time when I would have turned all mine in ( i own 4 ) about ten years ago. But now forget it, you would have to kill me, there is noway I would ever turn it in. I own my marine 45, service weapon. An AK47, springfield 45-70, 9mm Luger . And a pair of colt 45s single action.

These people lack any respect for Colion and in general give him no chance to speak. The audience included. These people talk out of both sides of their mouths. If anything, these two episodes just highlight how even with one of the more easily liked representatives of gun owners, these people put their fingers in their ears and yell at the top of their lungs.

\”We will pretend to listen\” . Then one thing we can do is make sure they understand. If the gun owner (or pro gun enthusiast) makes the effort to verify that the anti-gun/gun control person truly understands, then at least we can reduce the amount of misunderstand. How is that done? By getting the listener to demonstrate they understood what the speaker has said via a number of ways. Asking the listening to repeat the gist of what was said, asking a related question that demonstrates that they heard and understand what was said are just 2 of the many simple ways.

The ignorance displayed on the discussion of the “stand you ground law” (which is not a gun issue btw) by Ms. Tanden and her cohort is a microcosm of the Left’s problem with firearms, to wit, they have a flawed and incomplete understanding of the issue and base their arguments on their erroneous beliefs. Stand your ground means that you do not have a duty to retreat before using deadly force in self defense when you are faced with deadly force. It is NOT, as she characterized it, the lawful ability to use deadly force whenever you are threatened. I wish would have used the opportunity to expose her (and her supporting members in the audience) ignorance on the subject – maybe they would actually start to research things before coming to their own incorrect assumptions and conclusions. Differing opinions on issues is fine, but at least educate yourself before you jump into the fray.

What I see is the same old liberal attempt to make a showing of the fact, hey we want a solution but we don’t really understand the facts, so educate us! We will pretend to listen and act interested as we never let you fully explain or really educate us because we don’t really want to we just want Control! Noir is never allowed to fully explain/educate Maher’s show watchers with some very valid points he makes. Maher distracts him with another question and or distraction while never letting him fully explain, which would educate his listeners. The show boating and leading is obvious if you watch close and really listen. Not much short of the typical liberal setup!
