Obama Gets Cocky in State of the Union Speech

2nd Amendment – R2KBA Authors S.H. Blannelberry This Week

President Obama gave his sixth state of the Union address Tuesday night. Unfortunately — or fortunately, depending on your political perspective — we didn’t get to watch the speech. We’re all at SHOT Show 2015, working our tails off to bring you the coolest guns, gear, optics this industry has to offer.

Yet, we gave the text of the speech a cursory glance to see if POTUS mentioned anything about gun policy, universal background checks, restrictions on the Second Amendment, etc., but there appeared to be none. Maybe that’s good news. Maybe he doesn’t believe infringing on one’s fundamental right to keep and bear arms to be the priority that many within his own administration and political party believe it is. Then again, maybe it’s bad news. Maybe he’s planning something big in the not too distant future and didn’t want to tip his hand. Whatever the case may be, gun control didn’t appear to be a priority Tuesday night.

With that said, Obama did manage to ruffle some feathers during his speech by pausing for a moment to remind his foes that he won not only one election, but two.

“I have no more campaigns to run…” said the president, a smile flickering across his face, “I know because I won both of them.”

What are your thoughts on that? Bad form? Or a justified jab at those of us who are openly critical of his politics?

Nothing more than a coward and a traitor

  • Smart man January 26, 2015, 9:43 pm

Why did the smarter more educated white people vote for Obama while the “LESS EDUCATED” white people from mostly ignorant states vote against him. Mmmm, maybe stupidity can’t see pass color.

    • Administrator January 26, 2015, 10:04 pm

Honestly white guilt is as much the answer as any issue with prejudice. O is and always has been in the same pocket of the wall street bankers just the rest of them. He has sold out everyone.

    • Moderate majority September 6, 2016, 1:23 pm

For a *smart man* that was quite an elitist bigoted remark. He played the white guilt card and depended on pandering to it among liberals and progressives who absolutely hate the fact that they themselves are not minorities, and hate that thier opinions and beliefs are not shared by the majority of Americans. That’s why…..in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king, and that king’s name is Obama.

  • terry d. January 26, 2015, 7:42 pm

I wish I could join in with all of you and voice my opinion of that black SOB but I’m chicken. He probably would read everybodies remarks and pick me to come after. Our gov.,FBI DEA CIA and who ever else there is, are the MOST crooked bastards alive. I’m would love to continue BUT I better stop.

  • m g January 26, 2015, 3:08 pm

He’s an ass. Typical of his inflated ego. He’s a dictator all the way. How proud can a fool be? It took a billion dollars for him to maintain his dictatorship.

  • GARY January 26, 2015, 2:15 pm

Obama is a wanna be dictator and that sums it all up. His folksy speech style reminds me on the “Kingfish” Huey Long exgovenor of Louisiana of days gone by.

  • robert January 26, 2015, 12:57 pm

Typical Obama. He wil not leave office without seeing if he can outlaw guns or get rid of the constitution. He is so arrogant he wants to be seen by his minions as the one who brought down those pesky gun lovers. If you watch TV these days you would know the media is helping as well. We see blacks on tv now, not as gang bangers, but as the white picket fence middle class. no welfare family and the whites as the gap tooth, hillbilly crazies with their guns. If that doesn’t tell you what they are up to then you will never understand the liberal mental illness. They are planning big and setting the stage. My question is why then do most if not all mass killings happen in liberal states. Especially those with the totally moronic no guns zones.

  • ck January 26, 2015, 11:24 am

After he said, I have no more campaigns to run, the republican congress clapped, only then did he burn them by saying, I know because I won both of them!! Report the whole story you hack.

    • DW January 26, 2015, 1:29 pm

It took CK to stae it right. If you people are going to hate then that is your right. I blame S. H. Blannelberry for writing an in complete story. Mr or Ms. Blannelberry you did no one on this site a service by writting an incomplete story.

  • Voice of Reason January 26, 2015, 10:23 am

    Two comments.
Do you really think being at war in the middle east since 1991 is making a difference? We are now killing the sons of fathers we killed. We are the invading enemy, not the savior heroes. What would you do if you lived there?

Obable had his speech blown the moment Yemen went 100% terrorist.. and the White House did NOT know before the news media !!!! Review the “white House conference with the media.. sounded more like Sgt. Schultz. We know notink !

  • JOE January 26, 2015, 10:03 am

he forgot to mention the jobs created were due to oil production and despite his efforts to prevent drilling, us oil production is at record highs.

look at all the ways he has attempted to limit drilling yet he takes credit for oil production, couldn’t he have at least said thank you George bush

  • John January 26, 2015, 9:57 am

This is what I think. His comment was not planned, but was “spur of the moment” and instigated by some rudeness presented by part of the Republican. Following is statement, “I have no more campaigns to run”, many Republican members began to cheer. That is what precipitated his remark. So may of the remarks above are based on lies and biggotry and racism. We, as a Republican Party, will do better when we cam base our cause on Truth and not on Bullshit rhetoric spoon fed us by the Koch brothers.

  • phil box January 26, 2015, 9:33 am

maybe i misinterpreted this. are you saying “yomomma” is cocky or he is a dick?

  • Jay January 26, 2015, 8:57 am

When obama has so many impeachable offenses, how in this world is he still in office?? He Won nothing first of all! He was handled and put into the presidency by his handlers and his own ability to convince those who can’t think for themselves but vote on looks, demeanor, promises, skin color etc…. all the wrong reason. He has taken advantage of a weakened America, weakened by a culture war no one seems to want to notice but is happening and he is making it bigger by not closing our borders. When you provide for people from cradle to grave who the hell do you thing they are going to vote for? We The People need to push into effect out own laws, one being anyone that relies on welfare/tax dollars can not vote it taints the voter, the other being that No law, bill, amendment etc… can be passed that first and foremost does not apply to all elected officials! Let’s get the ball rolling!
By the way wait until you get your new obama care punch in the face on your IRS taxes this year, all the money your employer paid into the medical/dental care you payed for is now taxable income, just another obama care subsidy! Next thing you know we will all be taxed on the air we breath based on our lung capacity! I think some of the taking heads might want to look back at the Roman Empire!

Democrat is a socialist party, its philosophy is big government without righteous moral standard. Communist is the same using big government to squash its citizens. Anyone learn of Communism will never support Democrat. Big government is just a big group of fallen people like you and me and if the leader of a democractic country does not know of righteous moral standard, he/she only follow their own corrupt sin nature to do things and the result can be disaster for the mass.

God has shown us in history of Sodom and Gomorrah and Pompeii, Italy. If America approve of same sex marriage, you will be destroy like them without question. Billy Graham has said it, “If God does not judge America, He has to apology to Sodom and Gomorrah.” One thing about man is he never learn from history thus he is destroy by his own ignorant.

  • RetNavet January 21, 2015, 11:28 pm

This obviously flawed waste of flesh having risen to his position is the result of a willfully disinterested and woefully ignorant voting public….how many more Obama’s can our country survive in the form of a Representative Republic as it was founded?

  • Ken January 21, 2015, 9:20 pm

A wiser man would acknowledge that based on results, saying, “I won both of them”, means only that he screwed up twice as much as Jimmy Carter. (Who looks slightly less inept by his standard). The old POTUS KEPT HIS OATHS!

  • Cliff January 21, 2015, 7:58 pm

Boy o boy what will all you good O’Boys have to cry about after Obama is out of office? How about why your adult kids can’t get a job because they didn’t go to college, how about open immigration for Indians,Chinese and Arabs to come to the US and take all the technical jobs because your kids are too dumb to get a technical degree. I don’t know about you but me personally I bought more guns made more money under Obama then under any other president I personally wish he had 8 more year.

The PotUS wasn’t being cocky, his jeer was at the republicans who cheered when he said he had no more campaigns to run. If my constituents cheered my leaving I would have replied the same way with a politically correct “Phuck Yu”, which is why the democratic side of the room gave such an ovation afterwards.
Btw, I’m a registered republican and I believe that bad mouthing the PotUS is bad form for anyone, especially at a SOTU Address in front of the whole Nation.
    BAD FORM INDEED
Good for the PotUS for not taking it with a smile anymore.

  • Andrew N. January 21, 2015, 7:10 pm

The only thing his second election win proved to me is that there are far too many stupid people voting. But, if that’s your “job” and you get paid in welfare and food stamps, maybe we’re the stupid ones for paying for it. This is why they want all the illegals in America. Dead people and pets voted in Chicago area elections, so why can’t non-citizens?

    • Russ January 22, 2015, 5:23 am

That’s a Dem trick; cheat the vote.

Sorry to say Jay, but that’s exactly what he has on his mind for this last year.

All the while cutting military back to pre WW 1 levels.
      It’s working so far.
When he calls in the UN to take care of us because we can’t do it alone..
Then you wont be done with him, he will be done with you.
And he takes down the USA in this new kind of war you don’t recognize.

        • Damon January 26, 2015, 7:02 pm

The UN doesn’t have a single combat – ready force that would be willing to conduct operations within the continental United States. Not . One.
Take a look at their TO&E. The US Military IS the combat arm of the UN.

          • Russ January 26, 2015, 10:54 pm

  • Richard McGowan January 21, 2015, 4:05 pm

He “won two elections”, because he is black, that isn’t racist, it’s a fact. The media repeatedly attacked his opponents for everything and anything, while failing to mention that BO had ZERO experience running ANYTHING. They ridicule Sarah Palin for ONLY being the governor of a low population state, BO never even ran the counter at a fast food place. His comment that “small town Americans are just a bunch of rednecks that only want to hunt and fish and shoot off their guns” IMMEDIATELY got buried by the media. He and Eric Holder should be on trial for murder for their parts in Fast and Furious.

    • Mr P.W. Martin January 21, 2015, 5:35 pm

I will agree with you on that part 100%. Thankyou for saying what you feel about this fool.

    • Clarence January 21, 2015, 8:36 pm

Hey Richard, being a black man and an twenty plus year Army veteran I agree with you the only reason he won twice was there were only a certain type of people that voted for that freaking idiot. Most were non educated blacks, and Hispanic because they expected to get something in return. The other were those that believe in his stupid ideas he can run crap let alone our nation. He should have been impeached long ago.

      • Damon January 26, 2015, 6:58 pm

So your contention is that blacks and Mexicans (approximately 21% of a population of 330 million) were responsible for electing BHO twice?
Seems rather simplistic. And highly unlikely.
What is far more likely that the American public had tired of the constant friction of Republican policies that squandered the national treasury, besmirched America’s reputation worldwide, put us into two unwinnable wars against countries not responsible for 9/11, and had nearly crashed the global economy by pure, unalloyed, unregulated greed.
But, go ahead and believe whatever doesn’t require you to examine the facts too closely, or think for yourself. After all, self-knowledge is MASSIVELY overrated . . .

I don’t care what anyone says! Sarah Palin was and is still way more qualified than BO is or was! and i would still vote for her!

  • Martin B January 21, 2015, 3:18 pm

I’m glad I live in New Zealand and didn’t have to face the prospect of living under Obama’s reign, but from my perspective, some things are apparent:
    Obama attracted votes from people who would not otherwise have voted, so there is a lingering political underclass whose needs have still not been met;
He worked in a time of high Republican success, and so his every move was thwarted constantly – he had to step outside normal procedures to achieve anything at all.
A man with genuine political experience would have handled things very differently. As he had no real support in either House, there was little chance he could ever be effective. He was an outsider.

In New Zealand, he have voted in twice a conservative leader, who was once a Wall Street banker. He was known as the “Smiling Assassin” both because of his common touch, and ruthless readiness to downsize. Our Government services have almost been crippled in the name of achieving a budget surplus. Most people love him, which is a problem for the rest of us whose lives he has damaged.

It’s hard to get rid of a destructive person who achieves position with populist tactics.

    • Don T January 21, 2015, 5:51 pm

Martin, while your points may be valid, I’m not sure they are all accurate. There is a lingering political underclass who did vote for him, however there were many who do not fit this category who voted for him also. The reasons for this are likely as varied as the people who voted for him, however one thing people to respond to is a good speech, and great speeches he can give. Too bad great speeches don’t accomplish much, except to get people to vote for you!
Also, while he only had the Senate the last couple years, he had both Houses for a while and had that continued, we would look much more like our European friends, who have long since given up their right to defend themselves, and have radical Islamists running around shooting people in the streets.
Lastly, from most people’s perspective in the U.S., everyone in Washington is viewed as an outsider and for good reason! No one can get into a position of power without great wealth, either theirs or someone elses.

  • Don Wallace January 21, 2015, 3:04 pm

    Context, context, context…
Watching the SOTU address would have revealed that the GOP side of the aisle had JUST applauded Obama’s comment that this was his last term. His response was what you quoted. Both sides were engaging in some spirited humorous jabs at each other.
People on both sides were smiling.

  • Steve January 21, 2015, 2:29 pm

Despite the fact that I have never quite grasped the actuality that this proven radically raised Muslim sympathizer was actually voted into the top office in this country not once, but twice, I am sure glad that his reign is over regardless of the context of the words in his speech.
Shame on the under educated mindless sheep that have made his last 8 years possible.

  • Jay January 21, 2015, 2:19 pm

I saw the speech…after he said “I have no more campaigns to run”..you missed including the part about the subsequent applause and laughter from the republican seats that broke out in his mid-sentence..I suspect the text report didnt include this detail, but the video clip clearly displays it. His, “I know because I won both of them” ‘Jab’ was well justified and earned from where I was sitting. Begs me to wonder the obvious..in my mind.. this comment/question of this discussion seems a call to the already converted to ‘rip him a new one’ via commentary. By ‘cocky’ I wonder if you mean ‘uppity’..but I’m likely a rare bird here.

Obviously folks on the right dont like him, but I’ve been about for many many moons just like scores of others and there is a particular deliberate rudeness toward him that I have not ever seen toward a president so long as I have been alive. His smile..and wink came after. Frankly I would’ve done the same. Reagan as I recall was pretty adept at retorts in response to those with terse remarks or commentary toward him..I recall the laughter and applause he would get for doing such.

I suspect this is likely the worst kind of place to ever place a comment that hints of defense for Obama instead of calling for him to be flayed, tarred and feathered..but truth is I’m not a supporter, but for the range of what I am, I’m not deeply conservative or republican or democrat either. I’m a decently well traveled and well educated very independent guy that is well capable of interacting and conducting the affairs of life and business decently enough to know when I see rudeness, poor manners and vitriol. Folks have free will and thus the right to do such, why would anyone without an agenda suggest the other party should not react to acts directed at them? As one that views and comments on any number of firearm forums, when folks get snarky, rude, crass, trollish or inflammatory, they always get responded to and called and confronted for it..unless as is often the case, some point or agenda is pushed in the echo chamber that these things tend to be much of the time. For Obama To attempt to continue and behave as if that ‘applause’ didn’t occur or meant nothing would be foolish. Watching this globally broadcast event, plainly it did, it paused the speech, garnered derisive jabs and smirks directed at his person..so his retort was well justified. To have gone on as if ‘nothing’ occurred would have been foolish and milquetoast..publicly so. Its readily apparent to see his own initial reaction to it..he might as well have put on a skirt and ribbons in his hair at that point if he dared to falsely go on as if nothing happened or it wasn’t an event that garnered some self affirming reaction. All you too are men, why in the hell are you even questioning this? Each and every one of you would have done ‘something’. I’m a guy, I know I would have done or said ‘something’. Obviously he’s not ‘your guy’ but as ‘a guy’..c’mon..be human for a second..be real. Or in your own narrow personal worlds if/when you actually tell someone to ‘kiss my a$$’ is it something that takes you aback if they actually dont immideately drop to their knees and pucker up? Is this the world you live in?

The carelessness and palpable contempt of which us grown adult direct toward each other ever more readily all the while hypocritically talking about how gentlemanly we are, cos I see way more easy rudeness toward others now than I recall ever in my life, rather than gentlemanly politeness.

    • John L January 21, 2015, 7:00 pm

You are right…..this is the wrong forum for this. Vitriol and malice are the only valid comments on the internet. If people had to stop screaming they would actually have to listen. We can’t have that in this day and age. I read your entire comment. While I am not a fan of politicians in general, I too believe that a certain amount of decorum should be exercised. Hey, I am an old guy, but I have two sons in their twenties that are kind and polite. I have screwed up a few times in my life, but raising my sons to be civil human beings was something I got right. Peace.

    • Tony O. January 21, 2015, 7:55 pm

      Jay,
That was, without a doubt, the most ELOQUENT statement, heart filled and truthful, I’ve read on one of these forums…EVER.

Thank you for being the gentleman you are and for standing up to the group of individuals who come here to snark from their basement, behind a keyboard.

      Well done, sir.

      • Ray January 22, 2015, 4:54 pm

Wow, I could not have said it better.

    • Thomas January 21, 2015, 8:18 pm

Thanks, someone actually makes some sense here. Its nice to read a civilized and intelligent response. I understand folks who don’t feel Obama represents their interests, and as a gun owner and enthusiast I cringe at the misguided attempts to “control guns” and magazine capacity. But to think the republican party has your best interests at heart is just as misguided. Of course they want to appeal to red meat Americans to get your vote and scare you into thinking the other party is a communist take over but really its just the super rich who back the republican cause with $$ that are protecting their big corporate interests and massive wealth by dodging taxes and ruining the natural world to maximize their profits. They appeal to regular hard working people’s pride and disdain for government interference in their lives to rig the system to make themselves super rich. Both parties have sold themselves to various interests and a healthy suspicion of all politics and politicians makes more sense to me, but don’t be blind to the ways Obama has worked to improve the economy and improve America’s standing in the international community. No one party is all good or all bad; follow the money to see who’s interests are being served at any one time. Anyway, Happy shooting! thats what we all have in common here..

    • AB January 21, 2015, 10:42 pm

Well said Jay, couldn’t agree with you more.

    • Chris K January 22, 2015, 2:36 am

      JAY FOR PRESIDENT!!!
Totally agree with you. Torching a guy, our president, for politely standing up for himself after being insulted? The lack of general respect I see out of the Republican Party, almost every time I watch or hear someone from the party speak makes me cringe. Like our president or not, do unto others as you would want them to treat you… Don’t laugh in someones face and then chastise them because they throw it right back at you, especially when they do it better.

    • Russ January 22, 2015, 5:01 am

You ass kissers crack me up.
Just for fun go rent the movie “Team America”
I wish I could be there to see you face when you realize where you fit in, as they get to the part where they explain how the world is made up of “Dicks, Pussys & Assholes”

You guys sure are a rare breed.
I can only imagine what your agenda could be for coming to these types of forums.
No PC for you here, sorry, but you need to be offended.

      • Damon January 26, 2015, 6:45 pm

“I can only imagine what your agenda must be coming to these types of forums.”

We’re here because we’re gun guys, Russ. Didn’t realize it was gonna be “whine about POTUS day”.

Maybe you’d like to explain your “Ducks, Pussies, and Assholes” statement in person? After all, an armed society is a polite society, and I imagine all here fit that criteria . . .

        • Russ January 26, 2015, 10:31 pm

I have no agenda Damon, just here to get the latest info on firearms.
Maybe help a novice out with what experienced I may have, and get the same.
S.H. BLANNELBERRY likes to put this shit up to start fights.
Articles and videos that can do no good at all. And it seams to work.
I see liberal attitudes here, seemingly trying to change opinion in that direction.
          Who’s whining?
I’m just letting ass kissers in on a real funny movie.
There’s nothing for me to explain, it’s all in the movie.
One you should see before you comment to me about something you know nothing about.

          • Damon January 28, 2015, 10:53 pm

Oh, I’ve seen the movie, Russ.

My response was mostly a commentary on your uncivil, unnecessary, and divisive post. Even in a forum where it can safely be assumed all participants share at least one interest, you find it necessary to set up an “us or them” paradigm based solely on your own political views. Playing right into the hands of those who would keep us at each others’ throats, distracted, while they make off with what remains of our nation’s future.

Too polysyllabic for you, Russ? Research the phrase “useful idiot”. Then spend some time in contemplation.

            Good day to you, sir.

There is a total lack of respect for the Office of the President and that is unacceptable. It was a perfect reply to a group of self centered bought and paid for politicians. The real problem for the gun manufactures is who is going to replace the best sales man of the past two hundred years ? What are all the fearful people who bought any thing that had a hollow tube with a wooden stock and have horded more ammunition then 20 people will shoot in a life time. Life NRA but I have a brain and not lead around with a ring in my nose.

    • Damon January 26, 2015, 6:37 pm

      Jay,

You’re not alone, and your comment is dialed in to MOA. Unfortunately, our common shared interest (firearms), includes many of the far right fundamentalist fringe, for whom this specific POTUS can do no right.

Nice to see independent thought in the comment feed, and not just the foaming-at-the-mouth Fox echo chamber.

  • methadras January 21, 2015, 2:03 pm

This stealth Muslim in radical Marxist clothing is nothing more than a 5th columnist that has taken every opportunity to devolve the standing of the US within and outside of its borders and it’s working. He told us what he was going to do when he ran for office the first time and people voted him in twice. Thank you sir, may I have another.

  • phil box January 21, 2015, 1:58 pm

the title is an oxymoron. i think “yomomma” is a dickless piece of dookie.

  • Steve January 21, 2015, 1:45 pm

This guy can’t tell the truth about anything. He has done the most harm to our Country and way of life than any President in our history. He promotes Communism with every breath and names it (income inequality). The Vets out there know this. I’m just surprised no one in Washington has the Balls to remove him for breaching his Oath to Our Constitution. He will continue to pit one American against another during his tenure. He is a disgrace to the Office.

    • SB January 21, 2015, 7:44 pm

Not sure why everyone beats up on Obama so much. He’s not nearly as bad as our last worthless president. George W Bush was BY FAR the worst thing that has ever happened to the United State. He was also the biggest liar and whenever he spoke, you get the impression that he never finished grade school.

    • Clarence January 21, 2015, 8:22 pm

I agree Steve he does not know the meaning of the truth.

  • MCT January 21, 2015, 1:43 pm

If “gloating” is your interpretation of that comment by Obama in the SOTU address, you’re pretty pathetic.

    • Jethro January 21, 2015, 3:15 pm

Typical for the most arrogant leader of the free world. By the very content of his speech he has shown he has no intention to deal with congressional representatives placed there by this country’s citizens in the biggest landslide in 50 years. He is actually convinced that the folks who didn’t vote (majority) are totally behind his policies even though they “just couldn’t make it to the polls.” This thinking is indicative of his extreme narcissistic personality and his “me at any cost” approach to leadership. There will be no compromise on his part and his unwavering pursuit of his failed agenda is more important for his ego than fixing any of America’s problems by the people voted in by his own constituents. The comment didn’t surprise me a bit. When some members of congress clapped when he said there were no more campaigns to run, his own ego just couldn’t let that go. No surprise here folks, just an egomaniac.

      • Kevin Haberlene January 21, 2015, 7:49 pm

Biggest landslide among the 13% who actually SHOWED UP to vote?

No wonder the Repubes keep losing.

        • Clarence January 21, 2015, 8:19 pm

Hey Kevin , What do you mean keep losing? U.S Army Veteran .

          • Kevin Haberlene January 21, 2015, 10:49 pm

            Keep losing the Presidential Elections.

        • Russ January 22, 2015, 4:21 am

It’s as simple as this Kevin; Dems cheat the vote, it’s what they’re known for.
If we don’t do a recount, we lose.
All you have to do is recount, they haven’t figured out to cheat that….yet.
McCain & Romney didn’t recount, Bush did.

It’s also too late to compromise.
We need new Republicans that are hard core protectors of the constitution to vote in.

          • Larry January 23, 2015, 11:34 am

Give us a REAL Conservative to vote for in 2016 & we will mop the floor with the hair on Hillary’s head!

In the mean time, keep them clean, oiled & loaded, my friends.

    • Bob Brindell January 21, 2015, 7:44 pm

You are correct! The Republicans applauded when the said , “I have no more campaigns to run…”, an apparent insult. His retort was appropriate. No harm no foul on either side.

  • Larry January 21, 2015, 1:35 pm

He’s a pure narcissist and, as such, thinks he is a legend in his own mind. I would expect nothing less of this POS pencil neck geek. Did anyone count the number of times he used the words “me,my,mine, or I” during his speech? Bet it was many times more than he used the words “our & ours”,

Other than getting Bin Laden, fixing the economy, providing healthcare, and getting gas prices under $2? Seems to me like the country has done well with him as president. And before you try to blast me as some libtard or some such nonsense, I’ll have you know that I’m a card carrying NRA member. I don’t agree with his gun control policies but you have to aemit there have been worse.

        • Larry January 22, 2015, 11:16 am

Even though the country keeps growing in population, the work force is at it’s lowest point since the latter 1970s. Healthcare? Really? And how did he have anything to do with under $2.00 per gallon gas prices when gas production on Federal leases is 6% down from where it was when he took office?

Lower gas prices are in spite of him, not because of him while fixing the economy is smoke & mirrors at best & “providing healthcare” is simply a blind ass joke!

Come on man, wake up. After 6 years of this fraud, you can’t still be this stupid!

          • Russ January 22, 2015, 6:29 pm

Try FOX news or some online independent news organizations.
I’m not going to call you names, I just want you to expand your sources of information.
All those things you just mentioned were archived despite his obstructions to Americans and the constitution.
Just like all the bullshit he mentioned in his State of Delusion Speech, he claims these things and outright lies to you.
He didn’t achieve them, others did, others made it happen.

          • Mike January 26, 2015, 2:01 pm

Remind me again….which president cut the budget deficit by more than any president in history, by a factor of 2x more than they next best. (It was a rhetorical question….I already know the answer.) And pretty please, don’t believe me…it’s public knowledge look it up. On inauguration day 2008 the federal deficit was 1.4 trillion. Today it is 564 Billion. That’s over an 800 billion dollar reduction in the Federal Deficit. The next best was Clinton who cut the deficit by 400 Billion in 8 years. The last three Republican administrations all raised the deficit while giving the super wealthy tax cuts.
I couldn’t vote Republican even if I wanted to….the deal is I passed math class and I’ve been paying attention to what the Republicans have done with the deficit, and tax system. Mitt Romney paying 14% on over 50 million in annual income thanks to Bush tax policies. How is that right?

Of all Liberal policies, gun policies are the ones I least agree with, and I own semi-automatic weapons. But if I have to fill out a little more paperwork or wait a week to buy something in an effort to keep easy access to weapons away from criminals or crazy people who shouldn’t own them, so be it. The 2nd amendment isn’t carte blanch justification to sell guns on the street like lemonade stands. A little regulation isn’t going to kill anyone. BTW, the 2nd amendment is pretty dated, unless of course you are a member of a well regulated militia.

And if you’ve been getting your news from FOX, (who typically spins Deficit talk into Debt talk in order to cloud who’s really responsible for causing debt increases, look things up yourself. Deficit numbers are not hidden numbers, they are public record you can find them on many web sites … here’s one http://www.usgovernmentspending.com/federal_deficit_chart.html

          • J E Wilson January 26, 2015, 4:04 pm

          • Mike January 26, 2015, 2:17 pm

Carter cut the Federal Deficit by 20 million dollars. (Peanuts compared to today’s deficit, but at the time it was significant. And the peanut joke was inadvertent.) Want to know where the out of control national debt came from:
Carter lowered the deficit by 20 Billion
Reagan Raised the deficit by 180 Billion
Bush Sr. Raised the deficit by 150 Billion
Clinton lowered the deficit by 400 Billion
Bush jr Raised the deficit by 1.4 Trillion
Obama lowered the deficit by 800 Billion.
See any pattern here? The last three democratic administrations lowered the deficit, the last three republican ones raised it. I choose to vote for the fiscally responsible party. (And I voted for Ross Perot as well)

          • Patriot Dan February 4, 2015, 9:45 pm

Reduced the national deficit? Not according to Dr Ben Carson. See the YouTube Video of his speech (with Obamas present) at the National Prayer Breakfast. In case you don’t know who he is, check him out. Dr. Benjamin Carson is a leading pediatric neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins, where he is a renowned authority on separating Siamese twins. He was raised in the Detroit inner city by a single mom who worked multiple jobs to get him through school. He is a professor of neurosurgery, oncology, and plastic surgery as well as pediatrics… and he holds over 50 honorary degrees on top of that. He’s been the director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins since he was just 33 years old. In 2008, he received America’s highest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, from George W. Bush. He and his wife Candy run the Carson Scholars Fund, which hopes to “name a Carson Scholar in every school within the United States.”

He spoke at the National Prayer Breakfast today, ahead of President Obama’s address. Carson’s 26-minute speech, played in part this afternoon by radio host Rush Limbaugh, is setting the world on fire. If you haven’t seen or heard Dr. Carson before, and his biography makes him seem intimidating, rest assured he is anything but. Video is the only way to properly appreciate this speech, both because the good Doctor is a very animated speaker, and because he’s standing right next to Barack Obama when he delivers it.

You actually think Obama had something to do with gas prices? Osama yes he got him, true.Healthcare fixed? Don’t think so.It’s very expensive. The economy is not fixed, not at all.Lots of Americans without jobs, many gave up looking and many who became employed are what is known as under-employed-lower paying jobs,or part time.
Obama is actually a disaster-bad with Iran, bad with Israel, bad with energy, bad with the constitution, balems the repubs for just about everything,he basically lied extensively.

        • Tank January 26, 2015, 8:42 am

Check his record DTS. He said (paraphrasing): “Of course gas was $1.86 when I took office. The economy was weak and in a shambles. The economy is stronger as gas prices increase”. Now he’s taking a victory lap for low fuel prices and that “he’s” responsible So typical of him talking out of both sides of his mouth. You can’t have it BOTH ways.

        • KP January 26, 2015, 8:58 am

Obama got elected not once, but twice. Which only goes to prove that Jonathan Gruber was absolutely correct. He must have met you DTS.

        • Doug Thompson January 26, 2015, 9:49 am

The Navy Seals got Bin Laden. Anyone could and would have given that order. The President had nothing to do with fixing the economy or delivering $2 gas. You know nothing about market conditions if you assume the President has any sway in that regard. In fact, the improvements seen are almost in spite of BO policy rather than because of them. Universal Health Care is a myth and a failure that will collapse under it’s own weight. The poor who had no insurance before, sign up, but then don’t pay the premiums and still get the tax credit It is almost completely unfunded. No Man, since perhaps Franklin Pierce, has been so ill-equipped to hold the office as BO. He is a dismal failure as President.

        • Dan Lewis January 26, 2015, 11:39 am

          I. He didn’t “GET” Bin Laden, Seal Team 6 did. He just took advantage of years of hard work from the people who did. 2. He hasn’t fixed the economy, it is still way below where it should be. If anything he has made it worse by his administrations lack of perspective on just how things work in this country. 3. He didn’t get gas prices under $2.00, the market place did. If he really wanted to help out Joe Citizen then why is he holding up the Keystone Pipeline which would further reduce the price of fuel. It’s because he is beholden to his environmentalist big money backers. 4. Health Care?????? give us all a break, Obamacare is an absolute failure just like he is. So he won 2 elections, he lost everything in between. He will go down in history as one of, if not the worst President in history. He has single handedly made this country less safe, back door deals with people and countries to the detriment of national security. No DTS, this individual has done more harm than good to the people of this country, so your allegiance to him is another reason people like you, shouldn’t be allowed to vote

        • Robert January 26, 2015, 11:52 am

DTS please understand what the president can do and what he and the government at large cannot do. They DO NOT create jobs other than packing the government payrolls. They can only make conditions favorable for businesses to start up and create the jobs we need by reducing taxes and regulations like the EPA puts out illegally. (that is researched and verified) ObamaCare has and will continue to hurt the American family. My grand daughter’s husband is a family practice doctor and I have been told by them what it is doing to the consumer and medical practices. Just wait until the full impact hits in January 2016 after the perps who put it in place are out of office. Any business will tell you it will cost jobs and further “healing” of our economy. As far as the gas prices, private exploration and the continued pumping of oil by Saudi Arabia is what is lowering the price of a barrel of oil and thus your pump prices. There is a glut of oil on the world market right now and that is affecting prices. Obama nor his administration had anything to do with that. So, before you state your “facts” get educated and get the real facts so you can support real solutions for our country, not what lying politicians of both parties tell you.

        • Tiger January 26, 2015, 12:52 pm

Back when gas was $4.00+ per gallon, you libs said Obammer had no control over gas prices. Now that it’s low, you claim a victory for Obama, never minding the terrific competitition between Rusia,Venezuela, and OPEC that is the real cause for low gas prices. Do you really think our memories are that short?

        • Marco January 26, 2015, 1:14 pm

All you sycophants are funny, gas prices isn’t down because of anything Obama did, frankly, they’re down in spite of everything Obama’s administration has done.
Gas prices are down so much because of drilling on private land (something the Obama administration tried very hard to block from happening much like any number of things that would help the American people as a whole) something he wants to stop, but has no power to do so. The fact that he then turned around to steal the credit for something he fought tooth and nail to prevent is irony to the point of absurdity. This was something I found unbelievably disingenuous even for Obama (which is a statement in itself). Let’s not be so quick to forget his speech where he stated that gas needed to go “above $5” or “on part with Europe” to force people into using other “alternative energy sources” virtually all of which were and largely remain unproven/not yet viable. I have To be clear, I have no issue with exploring renewable alternative energy sources, but you can’t force to blindly rely on unproven sources and financially burden working people simply because a viable alternative option hasn’t been developed into a REASONABLE replacement.

Ah, Obamacare, it’s almost reached absurdity at this point. Obamacare was nothing more than a move to grab money and the first of a number of moves to consolidate control of healthcare to the government (how could this possibly go wrong…..). If you want to see how gloriously government run healthcare will truly be take a long hard look at the VA. The VA is a preview of exactly what can be expected of government run healthcare, except at a fraction of the size (calling this an understatement is even generous). I’ll bet were it astronomically larger that it would run so much better….. All that said healthcare reform needed to happen, but not this bastardization of a monstrosity that realistically did little more than expand Medicaid (have fun finding a doctor that actually accepts it, most would rather just provide care for free than deal with the government – speaks volumes) and give the keys to our healthcare to over to a bunch of self-motivated politicians; this couldn’t possibly go wrong…..

Obama got Osama? All Obama did was give the ok to proceed with the mission, for which W laid ALL the groundwork for the entire intelligence gathering portion and eventual assassination mission. Obama did nothing more than rubber stamp his ok to proceed and kill him. Says alot that he was kept in the dark until the actual mission happened (probably wouldn’t have been able to help but give a speech about closing in on him had he known).

I’ll concur that the economy has improved, but for him to claim booming economic growth and mass job creation is an overly generous stretch to say the least. You can’t legislate economic prosperity. The goverment’s job isn’t to “create” economic prosperity, it’s to create an environment where business can flourish and create real long term economic growth, instead of temporary hollow stimulous. No government has ever taxed its way to prosperity. Obama and the left instead continually throwing government funding at everything (Obama’s prefered engine for economic “growth”).

His administration loves to push all these trumped up numbers for job creation, yet conveniently never mentions what kind of jobs they are because they’re largely unskilled part-time jobs, which does an awful lot for all the unemployed or grossly underemployed college grads who haven’t had a chance to carve out a real career for themselves. It’s hilarious when his administration claims a booming stock market as proof of things getting better when the only people who benefit from a booming stock market are the wealthy who can actually afford to invest thousands if not millions of $ into the stock market. Again, more ridiculous irony, the self-proclaimed hero of the little guy has done more to help the very wealthy than he has to help the less fortunate and middle classes, but that won’t stop him from claiming he’s done so or his favorite past time, inciting the lower income classes against successful “wealthy” people as if 98% of haven’t worked their asses off for what they have, most of which without any “help” or aid from the government. If he wants to help the less fortunate or largely uneducated classes don’t act as if “free” community college is the answer to all problems. Instead of perpetuating the modern notion that if one doesn’t go to college they’re somehow a failure, sponsor more trade schools that can teach people who aren’t college material (let’s not kid ourselves that all are such) MARKETABLE SKILLS that there is more and more of a demand for and not enough skilled tradesmen to do these highly skilled EXCELLENT paying jobs (Welders are a example, with little more than a few years of experience, welders can easily make $100k+ if willing to put in the time and work). Most friends of mine who are skilled tradesmen do very well. If Obama wants to make a real difference, sponsor trade schools (post high school). But he’s too narrow minded to suggest such a thing.

Since he took office all I’ve seen is someone who comes off extremely narcissistic who’d rather give disingenous speeches to hordes of people who blindly follow and accuse anyone who questions him of being racist and or crazy than actually LEAD. EVERY SINGLE THING Obama has done since he’s been in office has been motivated by 1 thing and 1 thing only; POLITICS (of which I consider the societal poison we all know as political correctness as part of). I’ll conclude this by saying this; AL SHARPTON HAS BEEN TO THE WHITEHOUSE BETWEEN 90-100 times since Obama took office. That’s precious, a scumbag like that who could find RACISM IN A RAINBOW, there’s a guy who the “leader” of the free world should be consulting for his input and guidance on government policy of any kind…..

        • steve January 27, 2015, 5:29 pm

first off he didn’t fix the economy! every middle class American is struggling to some degree! some much more than others! second, He did not get bin laden! the U.S. armed forces did! and much of the work was done prior to his administration! Our military should be commended! not the president! many lives were lost in the process!, and third of all the health care situation is a joke! its just one more thing he has done to hurt us on purpose! long and short term! Who ever you are you obviously never served in the military!, other wise you would see truly what he is about and what sacrifice really is!

You forgot to mention about the Republicans who applauded when the President said he was not running again. No matter how one feels towards the President, he still is the President of the United States and as such demands respect. His reply put those disrespectful congressmen in their place. Instead of commenting about the President standing up for himself people should comment how the Republican congress could not even acknowledge , even in a small way, that the President helped get the economy back on track. WAKE UP please.

Oh, I’m not real sure he won either of them honestly. However, given the numerous clips of Obama voters being questioned on the sidewalk, and the overall lack of intelligence on the part thereof, I don’t think I’d be bragging much about that, even if I had won both races legally and honestly.

Larry, your comments are spot on! I am amazed that the people have allowed him to remain protected as they have. He won the elections the first time because of ‘White guilt’ and the hopes of many Americans to maybe solve the race problem in the US. Obama has only made it worse, much worse and we are back in the early 60’s because of him. The second election was stolen, plain and simple. So much fraud was committed it was shameful! Obama has committed Treason many times as well as many lesser Felonies and Misdemeanours it is amazing he is not sitting in prison right now even though he was protected by Harry Reid for all those years.

Get ready for Hillary in 2016. And you can take to the bank. Have some respect he is still the president of the free world. I haven’t lost my rights to own as many firearms as I want since his been in office. Gun restrictions are proposed more on a state level then anything else. He only spoke the truth he won 2 election very comfortably . Unlike GWB were he told his and bankroped the country. The only POS here is you

Boy you pegged it Larry, I have said the same thing for years now. BHO is certified Narcissistic Personality Disorder “which a person is excessively preoccupied with personal adequacy, power, historically called megalomania, and is a form of severe egocentrism.” I was beginning to think I might be the only one who noticed the “I”, “Me”, “My” thing. Errors are always someone else problem: remember the VA when he threw General Shinseki under the bus and explained Shinseki had just taken responsibility for the screw ups and so “I had to except his resignation” http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/video/president-obama-accepts-va-chief-eric-shinsekis-resignation-23931410 And who can forget the Syrian Red Line and the later “that wasn’t my Red line” http://sistertoldjah.com/archives/2013/09/04/obama-sweden-red-line-wasnt-red-line/ And then there is the famous “if you like your doctor” line… Why can’t Liberals see this narcissism. Its a dangerous trait in a person leading the US in such dangerous times… The President and Megalomaniac…

A more appropriate response from a president of the United States of America might have been, “I know because I have had the honor to serve this country for during the last two terms.” It would have made a better impression on more people and he still would have pulled off his dig , but then again, Obama is for Obama, he rules and wants it to be known. It’s about him, not the people, not the country. He not only narcissistic, but also egotistic. Eventually he will stab his own people in the back too. I’ve never seen a politician that was so expert at expressing such anger and with that anger, shutting down opponents when he’s caught in a lie. He’s just a “smart ass” (I hope I can say that, if not pull it). I’m sure his response was planned, and he still did it his smart ass way.

You may “win” the election, but that doesn’t make you a good President. Just a douchebag in office!
