Not even a full week in office and National Rifle President Oliver North is already making headlines. Maybe for the wrong reasons…
North seemingly called anti-gunners civil terrorists in an interview with The Washington Times. Next thing ya know, the mainstream media are running wild with the statement and at least one parent of a deceased Parkland student is lashing out at Ollie.
“Throughout this process I have refused to personally attack anyone. However, your ridiculous, hateful, shameful, cruel, stupid, pathetic remark has certainly tested me,” said Fred Guttenberg whose daughter was killed during the Feb. 14 massacre. “So that we are clear, the other Parkland gun crime victims and I are not civil terrorists.”
“We are a determined group. We will end your reign of terror and we will pass common sense gun safety in this country. Your remarks sound like the remarks of a lobby that has already lost the argument and so you attack us,” Guttenberg concluded.
Upon closer inspection, though, North wasn’t calling all gun-control activists “civil terrorists.” If you actually read the interview (I know that’s asking a lot these days, for people to read the text), he was referring to a disruptive subset that was engaging in criminal activity. Not limited to making personal threats and splashing fake blood on the home of an NRA employee.

With respect to those individuals, North said, “They call them activists. That’s what they’re calling themselves. They’re not activists — this is civil terrorism. This is the kind of thing that’s never been seen against a civil rights organization in America.”
“You go back to the terrible days of Jim Crow and those kinds of things — even there you didn’t have this kind of thing,” he continued. “We didn’t have the cyberwar kind of thing that we’ve got today.”
North makes a fair point. It’s one thing for anti-gunners to congregate with their pals David Hogg and Alyssa Milano and peacefully protest the nation’s gun lobby. It’s quite another for them to intimidate NRA members and vandalize their homes. As this war over gun rights continues, it’s important for the radical and potentially violent fringe of the gun ban movement to remember that keeping things civil is in their best interest. After all, we are the ones with the guns.
And to Mr. Guttenberg, you say you will end the NRA’s “reign of terror.” What did you mean by that?
The NRA is a civil rights organization with at least five million law-abiding members. Last I checked, its core mission was to encourage citizens to exercise their Constitutional right to keep and bear arms. That’s not a “reign of terror” — it’s a fight against tyranny.

Typical liberals, They protest against violence, And then Violently do everything they can in a Violent way to get what they want in the name of free speech and freedom to Protest. The very things that the 2nd Amendment helps to protect.
I’ve seen Pro-gun demonstrations by peaceful men and women. Then you see Massive Violent protests by The so called anti-violent Libs. Just an example of young people who have no clue how to express their feelings properly. Like expecting your 3 year old to understand why He needs to go to bed at bedtime.
Furthermore, why, every time this subject comes up, do they always excuse the murderer from the conversation and jump past to the inanimate object, blaming the TOOL instead of the Person, for the cause of the problem.

Seems EVERYONE has lost sight of the reason we have a 2A?! Ask most adults, and nearly EVERYONE UNDER THE AGE OG 25 WHY WE HAVE A 2A…….they won’t be able to tell you.
This isn’t all about handguns or shotguns or “black rifles” for law-abiding Americans.
This is and/or should be about the way they are raising their children and what they are exposed to EVERY DAY.
No one has asked the question about why SCHOOL-AGED CHILDREN WANT TO SHOOT OTHER SCHOOL-AGED CHILDREN.

Ah the culture wars, an inexhaustible supply of money and energy to those craven enough to exploit of fears and anger. How many of us long for truly wise and informed debate from the various dimensions of this debate. Zealots from both sides fear this as it will sap their support. Maybe this exploitation of our differences is the deathnell of our civil society?
The liberals and the national anti-gun groups “do” resort to civil terrorism. Their propaganda is nothing but made-up facts, half truths and faux statistics. They deploy agitators, coaches, activists to shooting, especially where children are involved, to incite civil unrest and coach the “survivors” to call out certain people, besmirch them using slander and libel, making veiled threats, and make outlandish demands for tougher gun control. They will engage in criminal activity or bus in thugs and felons from out of state to do the dirty work.
The ultimate end state of liberals is the total disarming of all Americans and banning all firearms from private citizen possession or use because they abhor the Constitution, individual rights, and freedoms.
Is Ollie wrong though? These people are blaming an inanimate object for their woes, and then want to deprive me of my Constitutional rights based upon their irrational fears, and they attack anybody that goes against their views.
