Pew Study: ‘Majority of Gun Owners Own Multiple Guns’

Authors Current Events S.H. Blannelberry

Pew Research has published a new comprehensive study of America and what it calls its “complex relationship with guns.”  Maybe it’s just me but I don’t feel as though things are all that complex.  Americans have a right to keep and bear arms that SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.  While most Americans support that right, there are some chuckleheads out there that want to take away that right.  Thankfully, on the whole, those chuckleheads are failing to accomplish their goal.  I mean, what else is there to know about guns in America? LOL.

Pew has attempted to pull back some of the layers, peel the proverbial onion if you will.  The results are, honestly, about what you’d expect from a fallible phone/online survey of 3,930 U.S. adults, including 1,269 gun owners.  Yes, I say “fallible” because no survey is going to be 100 percent accurate and, as we all know, gun owners tend to be circumspect when it comes to disclosing information about questions related to their gun safe.

Anyways, here is a snapshot of the key findings (all graphs come courtesy of Pew Research):

Again, I didn’t find the information all that revelatory or compelling.  Given the phrasing of the questions, that’s about what I’d expect a group of almost 4,000 random people to say.

That’s my take, though.  What did you think?  Were you struck by any of the findings?  Did anything seem way off to you?

To an unknown caller I would ask for a call back number then may be call back in a week or so.

Sadly I would disagree with your opening statement. Gun control advocates are winning and gun rights are getting hammered un most states. I live in upstate NY, hunting areas galore. I have my CCW. Now the NYS legislature wants to mandate I must give up social media passwords so they can check 3 years of posts, oh and 1 year of Google, or Bing search history.

And in a new pew server, it has been revealed that most golfers own multiple golf clubs.
I personally can’t understand the need, given that I only use a 5 iron, pitching wedge and a putter when I play.

Good. Bad. …I’m the one with the gun. I am trained, practiced and skilled. I am fully prepared to defend myself, my family and my home. This is my right as protected by the 2nd Amendment and I know no other way to live. Please respect my rights just as I respect your right and choice to be a victim.

Until polls include everyone in the country they are pretty much useless ….ask Hillary.

    Pointed sticks…………….that is all.

So you receive a call from someone saying he’s from Pew research asking if you had a gun in the house. What idiot would answer the questions that he had guns but Doesn’t believe in keeping them locked up so you can come over while I’m away so you can steal them.

I have guns, if someone doesn’t like it, stay out of and away from my home. Same allies to my car.

  • Revolverdude June 30, 2017, 9:56 am

Hard to believe but 57% of homes don’t have a gun? That’s good news for crooks.

Once again ‘PEW’ is the strongest PEW in the wind.

This survey is false and way out of reality.

  • Jesse Scott June 30, 2017, 7:50 am

I guess they won’t be discussing this on Libtard News Network.

  • Steven June 30, 2017, 7:44 am

    Rubbish!

  • Dan June 30, 2017, 7:31 am

I’d venture to say that the number of households w no guns is inaccurate. We all know that there are a lot of people that, when asked by a total stranger in a “poll call”, will not admit to owning a weapon. In a completely uneducated guess, I’d say it’s more like 40%, instead of 57%.

“Study shows gun owners own multiple guns.”

    Ya think?

Guns are kind of like the Lays potato chip commercial: You can’t just have one! Especially if there are 2 adults in the household.
