President Obama: ‘It’s easier to buy a firearm than a book’

2nd Amendment – R2KBA Authors Rapid Fire S.H. Blannelberry This Week

During a town hall event in Columbia, South Carolina, on Friday, president Barack Obama took several shots at the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding gun owners.

“As long as you can go in some neighborhoods and it is easier for you to buy a firearm than it is for you to buy a book, there are neighborhoods where it is easier for you to buy a handgun and clips than it is for you to buy a fresh vegetable, as long as that’s the case, we’re going to continue to see unnecessary violence,” said the president during the Q&A at Benedict College.

Obama lamented the lack of success his administration and Congress have had with respect to foisting tougher gun-control laws on the American people, specifically following the 2012 mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.

“I thought after what happened at Sandy Hook would make us think about it,” Obama said. “You would have thought that’s got to be enough of a motivator. But we couldn’t get it done.”

The president went to on to say that without tougher state and federal gun laws, “it is difficult to reduce the availability of guns.” Though, he claimed he has tried to get as much done “administratively” as he could.

Obama complained that “Our homicide rates are so much higher than other industrialized countries,” and suggested it was due to the high rate of gun ownership in the U.S.

“In some places it goes the opposite direction. People say we should have firearms in kindergarten and have machine guns in bars. You think I’m exaggerating,” Obama said. “You look at these laws that come up. Despite those frustrations, I would say it is still within our control to reduce the incidence of handguns violence by making sure your young people understand that that is not a sign of strength.”

Yet, after griping about America’s gun culture and respect for the right to keep and bear arms, Obama said that we need to protect it. “That’s important. That’s part of who we are.”

Apparently, by “protecting” the Second Amendment he means we need to restrict it to the point where no one can freely exercise it.

I have never heard such a pile of CRAP in my life, anyone can walk into a store and buy a book, but even Criminals have to find someone selling a gun (usually stolen ), but it takes a little time, and us poor Law Abiding Citizens go through all the hoops when we buy a Firearm, so Mr. OBozo STOP LIEING TO EVERYONE!!! You knew it was a lie when you said it but you have no problem stooping to new lows when you lie to the American People do you?? You refuse to read the facts if they go against what you want, you and the Anti-Gun Groups around the Country. I’ll tell you one thing right now if someone where to break into your home and threaten your family with a gun or knife, I’ll bet your first thought would be I sure wish I had a gun to get these guys with, and protect my Family, I agree we have a problem with Criminals getting guns, but you need to stop making up a bunch of STUPID LAWS that do nothing to stop Criminals from getting them, and make it harder, and harder for Law Abiding Citizens from getting them, the thing is that Criminals can get whatever they want, whenever they want, all thanks to these lame ass laws that are passed, as they make guns a high priority theft item, just look at these Gangs that run most of these big City’s they are mostly Criminal Felons, and every one of them carries a gun, hell they probably have a stock pile of them stashed somewhere, get rid of these gangs that would be a start towards doing the right thing in cleaning up this MESS which by the way is of the Governments own making, go after the Criminals, and the Violent Mental Patients FIRST, NOT LAW ABIDING CITIZENS.. Oh by the way the guy that shot up the Theater last week should not have been able to buy a gun as per the Law as he was COMMITED by a Judge to a Mental Ward, but they never turned him into the FBI as a Mental Case, so much for your Law about Mental Patients, you push these Laws off on us and then you don’t even follow them, SHAME ON YOU!!!!

All should understand that God (yours, theirs, or any) did not give us gun rights, or any other rights. That was done by the men who proposed and ratified our constitution. America is not a caliphate. It is a secular country.

  • Foy Hodge July 20, 2015, 1:25 pm

Obama is lying about how easy it is to buy guns. It is very hard to by a gun legally. Law-biding people have a hard time buying guns. Criminals on the over hand, can buy or steal guns. 99.9% steal them. Obama lies. It is in his DNA, than is why he is a demo-rat and not a republican.

proper education, just like in all things, is important. We give our children sex education in the schools and also teach different types of birth control. We use robot babies to teach kids that parenthood is a lot of work. If we would teach safe handling of firearms in the schools(not all kids have parents that own guns or that even should own them). Showing safety and what a gun can do, as well as teaching them with actual or graphic video how to finish and clean your kill, could just keep a few kids from the “wonder” of firearms.

The sad thing here is that we, as society, have demanded education for children(even against parents’ wishes), is that we, as society, are not teaching firearm safety(as well as martial arts). Failure to teach children to be able to fight off aggressors and other bullies when they a children just makes it all the easier to justify(in the adolesant’s mind) the idea that an equalizer(be it a pipe, knife, or firearm) is needed for thier problem. In some cases they could be right, but it is our society that creates the problem, not vice versa.

Keep buying assault rifles + thousands of rounds of ammo to fit them and keep a ratio of about two handguns per assault rifle. After you have trouble keeping count your half way there. Remember the Scotts and the Romans. Enough of us are a wall. They can train your neighbor to keep you in a cell but what happens when the neighbor finds out it’s for real. I was in the Army 2 years before Desert Storm. The folks I was in with wouldn’t have complied with orders to play Nazi. I find it hard to believe that fact has changed. I don’t believe there is a neighborhood in the US where it’s easier to buy a gun than a book. For one thing guns are expensive and in those neighborhoods used books might get 50 cents. Is it easier to get 50 cents or a few hundred dollars. It’s a stupid comment. I’m surprised so many have said so much about so little.

  • Harry June 8, 2015, 12:59 pm

I think you should try buying a gun to prove that statement.
    Good luck with that, Barry!

  • mac June 8, 2015, 11:00 am

I cannot believe that after reding this bull people still believe that law abiding gun owners are the problem. Yes it probably easier to buy a gun in some neighborhoods then food. But were are these guns being bought in a gun store or out of the trunk of a care. Gun laws of any kind will not stop this only change the method that the guns are gotten. Illegals and criminals will always find away around the laws where as the law abiding gun owners are the one left unprotected and left without the ability to buy guns and ammo for such things as hunting, target shooting and protection.

The NOTUS, and no not a typo, has lied since day one and people think he is going to stop. How is it he can remain in office and spew his vile Muslim rants. Never has nor will he ever have been able to hold our highest office, student I.D. says Foreign student, birth certificate states African-American, seems to me back when he was hatched in Kenya they were referred to as Black or Negro, how is it, since he never lived in Conn. he has a S.S. card from there? No one has the balls to impeach this asshole because he is our NOTUS. Once you take away the guns, then you take away the books so you have stupid people living as slaves.

…but WE couldn’t get it done.” I’m sure glad I’m not a conspiracy wacko, or it sure would sound like Sandy Hook was a staged event meant to motivate the nation to “get it done” in regards to gun and citizen gun owner hatred. I sure hope he is not suggesting that like Fast and Furious failed, so too, failed the Sandy Hook debacle. All those innocent children’s lives and still this insane, gun crazed nation won’t give up guns. What could possibly be mean by such a statement…”but we couldn’t get it done?”

  • St March 9, 2015, 10:28 pm

It’s really hard to fight against an unrepentant liar like the president of the united states when he can go on erratic rants about guns being easier to buy than a book. Let him come out to California where you to wait 10 days. You can’t even own a weapon in DC. So I guess the books are easier to get there though. The problem is the narrative. He is allowed to repeat it ad nauseum and the NRA stays quiet. Why is anyone supporting the NRA again?

I support the NRA because other organizations are not large and well-funded enough to pursue matters through the courts and election cycles like they can. I don’t let my support for the full Constitution stop there, though, putting my money into several other organizations whose primary purpose is to educate Americans about the Constitution and to defend those portions of it most seriously under attack.

  • C Mn March 9, 2015, 6:42 pm

Evidently not in his home state and Chicago because even law enforcement doesn’t want to go into some neighborhoods. But me as a law abiding citizen would have a hard time getting one. Just more of his liberal lies. Wake up America.

  • Carl March 9, 2015, 5:24 pm

This clip is short, but indicates that our President has little understanding of firearms. He talks about going to some neighborhoods and it being easy to by a handgun and clips. OK – handguns are either single shot, revolvers, or semi-autos. None take clips. Semi-autos take magazines. While it is not unusual for someone to not understand the difference between a clip and a magazine, there is something fundamentally wrong about our President preaching his personal gospel and clearly showing us all he doesn’t understand what he is talking about.

Now, let’s consider his statement about buying books. Is he talking about the poor slums of Chicago and Detroit. I would believe that it is difficult to buy a book there. You have to be able to read to want a book, and I suspect those who can actually use a book in those places where the crime outshines the sun have no ability to use a book. This all for the worse, of course. Can you imagine what could happen to crime if knowledge and personal responsibility were common in those areas? Instead of trying to ban guns from the law abiding citizens, why not teach the criminals to live honestly. Instead, our President would promote handouts to feed a person for a day, rather than teaching person to pursue and honest living and feed themselves for their entire life. And yes, there is a biblical analogy there (actually a paraphrasing), but I don’t expect the President to have read about it.

  • Mark Tercsak March 9, 2015, 2:05 pm

Dear Mr. President, that fact is it is not easier to buy a Firearm than a Book, But it should be ! As long as you are a citizen of the United States.

The Second Amendment last sentence says it best, Shall not be Infringed, That means no one Mr. President even you, the courts or Congress or the respective states in which we reside shall make no law, regulation or order or tax which will restrict our firearms rights and the ability to defend ourselves from enemies both foreign and domestic.

This brings me to my next subject Taxation on Firearms and ammunition is unconstitutional for it restrict the rights of citizens to properly defend themselves, taxes on these products should be stopped.

  • Clayborn Lewis March 9, 2015, 1:15 pm

maybe where Obama came from it’s easier to buy a gun then a book seems in some neighborhoods in America they’ve never even heard of a book or have no use for a book maybe they should pick up a book instead of picking up the gun and we’d all be a little better off people need to remember only idiots with guns kill people how can you tell an idiot from somebody who’s not an idiot before you sell them a gun you can’t but that still does not give you the right to not sell guns there’s an idiot that can’t drive and they still get drivers licenses when they screw up they take their license same with guns when you screw up you’re not allowed to know me anymore I think it’s working out just fine except for there are some neighborhoods were growing up in carrying a gun and being a gangster I repeat gangster I do not understand why the parents of all these so called gun toting gangsters have not talked their children respect of a gun instead of them learning it on the streets instead of taking guns away from people and being scared of them maybe people should tell their children what they’re for they’re not for being gangsters and running the streets selling drugs pimpin being a pimp a drug dealer and a gangster are top qualities and some neighborhoods I think what President Obama meant was those are the places where you can buy a gun faster than you can find a book

    • Evan March 9, 2015, 3:26 pm

Based on that incoherent screed, I’d suggest you buy a book or two. I’d suggest something on proper use of punctuation.

      • Bill in Lexington, NC March 9, 2015, 9:13 pm

I could recommend he spend at least a few evenings with “Rex Barks” (ISBN: 1-889439-35-5) and “Handbook for Writers” (ISBN: 0-13-809476-4 01).

Except in the case of severe brain trauma, mental retardation or death, there is no excuse for being illiterate in your native tongue past the age of six or seven. The gentleman probably speaks well enough, but simply lacks the skill to write down what he might have spoken. He has turned words into inartistic graffiti.

Sans punctuation, his thoughts become rambling, unintelligible and – as you mentioned – incoherent. Whatever reason and logic was embedded in the original thoughts was lost when they were set in print. There is some latitude in the use of punctuation, but even e.e. cummings found it useful to employ some.

  • Nick March 9, 2015, 12:29 pm

I think the president should get his attorney general to get some legislation generated to require all book buyers to be registered.
That way it won’t be easier to buy a book than a gun!!!

  • Rocky March 9, 2015, 12:15 pm

    ‘Obama complained that “Our homicide rates are so much higher than other industrialized countries,” and suggested it was due to the high rate of gun ownership in the U.S.’;
The Lyin King’s back at it, again. US violent crime rates have been steadily Falling for over 20 years, now. If you were to remove Washington DC, Chicago, Detroit and New Orleans from the list, the US would fall in at 4th from the Bottom of the list of all nation’s violent crime levels. (not my statistics, but copied from elsewhere)
Fully 98% of America’s violent crimes are perpetrated by a mere 3-5% of our populace; young, male minorities, with young, Black males perpetrating more than young, Hispanic males and young, White males, combined. To the extent that death by gunshot by Other young, Black males is the number one cause of death, for this demographic. (FBI statistics)
The levels of violent crime in America have been falling, in large part, due to the plethora of ‘Shall Issue’ concealed carry laws, that have taken the nation by storm, since Florida passed their first such law, those many years ago, accompanied by cries of ‘wild west’, ‘blood running in the streets’, etc. none of which has transpired. Just the opposite, the US rate of violent crimes began to fall and has continued to do so, as each additional State passes their own versions of these necessary self defense laws into State Law.
The next, obvious, step would be to, then, eliminate the requirements for concealed carry permits and pass legislation that permits the nationwide reciprocity for all such State based concealed carry laws. Constitutional carry, if you will.

Most people forget that in the 20th century it is estimated that 260 million people were killed by their own governments after first being disarmed. Don’t think it could happen here? I’m sure all those people didn’t think so either. Our founders remembered the lessons of history, and knew that it always repeats itself. It is a sad testament that people today are too ignorant, or oblivious to these facts.

Obviously President Obama has not bothered to attempt to buy either a gun or a book lately. I seriously doubt if he would know what to do with either.

  • s herst March 9, 2015, 8:37 am

It’s the usual lying approach that O takes: Ignore the facts, which almost always contradict his absurd claims, then lie about the positive effects that his plan would supposedly have (“We will provide health insurance to everyone, but everyone can keep their health plan if they like theirs.”). Practically none of O’s promises have come true if we look back at his 6 year track record.

No reason to expect any better of his latest claims.

Just for comparison, note that there have been 4 nationwide studies of the crime-reducing effect of gun control, and they have all come to the same conclusion, in close variations of the following comment:

“There is no proof that any gun control laws, either singly or in the aggregate, have ever reduced violent crime in any jurisdiction in the U.S. at any time in our history.”

    1. 2013 Obama gun control study that he commissioned and staffed with anti-self-defense fanatics in the hysteria following the Dec. 2012 Sandy Hook murders, expecting to get an overwhelming support for gun control. It failed to say anything even remotely favoring gun control, despite the stacked deck.

    2. 2004 National Academies of Science study “Firearms and Violence: a Critical Review” which was a groups study of all existing and prior gun control results, finding that there was no evidence that any form of gun control (individual or aggregated) has ever reduced violent crimes. This research panel consisted of 10 people who believed in the effectiveness of gun control and one Center-Right panelist who was not prejudiced in favor of gun control, but was heavily outnumbered.

    3. 1981Wright-Rossi Report, “Under the Gun: Weapons, Crime and Violence”, by three pro-gun-control professors (hired by President Carter who wanted a pro-gun-control study so he could use it to force Congress to pass sweeping gun laws) who found that gun control didn’t work at all, anywhere in the country, at any time in history. Fortunately, the professors reported the study results accurately even though it went against their pre-conceptions.

    4. 1976 Univ. of Wisconsin study of all previous gun control laws also found no evidence that they worked.

Why do Obama and the various academic groups continue to promote gun control despite the overwhelming lack of evidence that it works? Because they are too stupid to understand that law-abiding decent citizens and criminals are two distinct groups, with little overlap (Venn Diagram). To anyone with common sense or logic, it would be totally obvious that gun control laws that target or harass law-abiding citizens will not impact criminals. Look at the 22,000 gun control laws on the books and you will find that 95% of them don’t even target criminals, so how can they affect criminals? Besides, even if the laws were written to target criminals, it should also be obvious that criminals don’t obey any laws, even those that are aimed at them.

It is also important to know that many of the states with lowest homicide rates are states that have the most rational firearms laws and citizen practices (including “shall-issue” concealed carry permits, lots of hunters, lots of recreational shooters, lots of defensive gun owners, lots of collectors, etc.). Almost all of the places with high murder rates are cities with maximally restrictive gun control laws, hostile purchase licensing boards, few shooting ranges, and few sporting goods stores to buy guns.

Furthermore, in the vast majority of states, the rural and small-town parts of each state (with much higher gun ownership rates and legal firearms usage) have much lower homicide rates than the urban areas, which almost always have more restrictive firearms laws and less legal opportunity to buy or practice with firearms.

  • Motown Marty March 9, 2015, 8:07 am

Yes, Mr “President,” there are plenty of neighborhoods where people don’t read books because of your failed public school systems. And, yes, due to gang activity that your administration ignores, it is easy to buy illegal weapons there too. But my gun ownership and legal hobbies have NOTHING to do with that! Stop harassing law-abiding gun owners and coddling the race-baiters who produced these failed ‘hoods….

Fight hard, against anyone who tries to take away our rights and sources of recreation and enjoyment.

  • Todd Jaffe March 9, 2015, 7:53 am

Once again Obama shows that one of two things is true, either he is a pathologic liar, incapable of telling the truth and unaware of reality even when the truth will do (which by the way is a sign of mental illness requiring treatment and an indication he should be removed from office) or he is so vehement about gun control and taking over the country that he will deliberately lie and mislead, which is a sign of a despot and someone who needs to be impeached. Either way, he ignores that in Chicago, his own “hometown” which has strict gun control, the murder rate and violence rate is amongst the highest in the US. He ignores that under Guiliani when gun control was mild, violence dropped in MYC, then we had Bloomberg and de Blasio with strict gun control and once again it is becoming unsafe to walk the streets of NYC. I know we used to visit NYC 5-6 times a year, spending over $10,000 per visit and donated to the Metropolitan and NY City Opera. Now we go, Zero times per year. Until they elect a Republican and repeal their gun control, and focus on crime, rather than giving criminals rights, you won’t see me back.

    • Evan March 9, 2015, 3:20 pm

Gun control in NYC has always been absurdly strict. It’s only gotten worse under Bloomberg and DeBlasio, but it was never a place where normal people (to the extent that they even exist there) could legally own guns without jumping through absurd hoops and paying large sums of money. I left NYC a little over a year ago, and haven’t been back since.

My wife visits her mother in Brooklyn several times a year and I worry about her every time.

In North Carolina she can, and does, carry a firearm to defend herself. We’re going on 4 years since she obtained her concealed carry license (recognized almost everywhere except the pink taco fart states) and she has yet to fire it anywhere but at a shooting range.

Yet, in New York, she’s too stupid to be trusted with pepper spray or even a large soda, much less a firearm.

The people who want everybody else disarmed are protected by armed guards carrying fully automatic firearms 24/7.

        I call bullshit.

I am a dues paying member of the NRA, Grass Roots of North Carolina (GRNC.org) and the National Association of Gun Rights (NationalGunRights.org) ………… and I vote.

        • Greg March 10, 2015, 1:43 pm

          Bill–
I appreciate your worries for your wife traveling alone, maybe going with her would help since foul language and joining gun organizations doesn’t seem to help you much. I have been in and out of the gun business for over 50 years, a hunter since old enough to carry one. I am a life time member of SCI and DSC. I enjoy many of the shooting sports, although my age is starting to limit me somewhat. I do own handguns, but don’t carry concealed, only for hunting or at my range. I have listened to so-called “members” of the NRA cuss and fuss since the early 1960s how we will lose our gun owner rights in the next few minutes and yet I have never been bothered or prevented from legally buying, using, selling, reloading or instructing how to use firearms. I am thankful to the true gentlemen of the NRA who help keep a watchful eye on our firearm ownership and hunting rights and do it in a kindly manner so we all know they use their heads for something other than a hat rack, rather than simply shout and spout vile hot air. Peace and safety to you and yours.

          • Amil Baker June 30, 2015, 11:39 am

I have been hunting, fishing and shooting firearms since I was about 6 years old, and that makes 75 years, I am 81 in August. I own and run a gun store, in Blanco, Texas and am familiar with most of the things that can happen even in small town being only 45-50 miles from two Metropolotians areas and 150 miles from the Border of Mexico. On January 3, 2015 someone tried to break into my gun shop using a very large rock. They broke the outer glass on the door but could not break the interior glass even after hitting the glass three times with that about 80 pound rock. Then on January 14, 2015, a felong stole a F250 truck in Austin and drove it through my Gun Shop on January 15, 2015 at 5:09 a. m. He was in the gun shop less than one minute and stole 11 handguns. Left the truck partially in my Gun shop with the engine still running. I had the utmost help from all Policing agencies, that included a fine young man from ATF (FBI). On January 27, 2015 that Felon was captured and 5 of the handguns were recoved, shortly after one was found in Mexico, which I will never see again. We had from the guns, damage to the building and furnishings about $30,000 damage. Insurance paid 80%. Now I am sure some of those guns may have been used in a crime, but the ones I carry and the ones in my shop, about 100, to my knowledge never even hurt someone must less killed Them.

    Dear President Obama:
Our Founding Fathers, who were much greater men than you will ever be, gave us the Second Amendment. In case you have forgotten, it says that “…the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” The meaning of those words seems very clear. Please stop trying to take away our God given rights.

    • Blasted Cap March 9, 2015, 10:53 am

That’s the problem, if they were given to us by Allah, he wouldn’t have a problem with it.

    • Gary March 9, 2015, 7:03 pm

You are right. But our schools have taught our kids since the 60’s that there is no God, we are just evolved cells or monkeys. So those God-given rights were really given by the state, so the state can take them away. These kids are now our governors. We have reaped what we sowed. And since we can terminate babies if they are inconvenient, next we will terminate our parents when they become a financial burden. For the sake of ending their suffering. It’s time to carve the 10 commandments back on the walls of our courthouses. Do we really need any more rules than these basic ones? If I honor ” thou shalt not murder” then it doesn’t matter what gun or magazine i keep in my closet.

      • Damon March 9, 2015, 8:54 pm

Gary, all due respect, but that’s crap. It doesn’t devolve from “God-given” to “at pleasure of the state”.

The right to preserve one’s own continued existence is a “natural” right, meaning that is a biological imperative. It’s why zebras run from lions, why bears evolved teeth and claws, why humans evolved thumbs (to click off the safety).
As much as I’m sure you and I have much in common, I have no interest in living under religious law, whether Sharia or your supposedly more benevolent brand.

        • Gary March 10, 2015, 2:27 pm

Millions who were killed by Hitler and Stalin would disagree. Most of society goes along with whatever government tells them is right. Hitler said he was trying to save and improve the superior race by keeping it pure, and wiping out the subhumans without blue eyes and blond hair would create a better mankind through assisted evolution. And the nation bought into it, or was dealt with. He overstepped his authority by claiming a state of emergency. If you get rid of the foundation of your laws, you are justbone step from tyranny. That’s why it takes a few free thinkers like you and me to tell people to wake up, question the real purpose and agenda of a government that tells you the old laws are no longer relevant and need to change. Crap like ” you dont need guns because we dont rely on hunting to survive these days, we’d be safer if we took them all away”. Then we have to remind the lemmings it’s a right to bear arms, not a right to hunt. You get the idea.

I can tell you where those neighborhoods are, Chicago, New York, Detroit, Los Angeles and Washington D.C. All of the liberal utopias he promised. America’s number 1 gun salesman President Obama. Keep up the good work Barack.

This time Obama’s fiction actually had at least a small grain of truth to it. Until a few years ago, I lived in Detroit. Until Whole Foods put a store in the upscale “artsy fartsy” district, no major food chain had a retail presence within the city limits — having been driven out by incredible levels of theft.

Oh, yeah, people walked through the stores munching on bags of grapes … slipped jars of peanut butter and frozen shrimp into pockets and wine into diaper bags … but the surreal losses were from employee theft.

And he’s correct about guns being freely available — but only to the criminal element. Until recently it was actually quite difficult for an upright citizen of Wayne County to purchase a firearms– particularly a pistol or revolver — from a legal source.

And that’s where the hip-deep bs starts … the people control lobby deliberately confuse the unknowing into seeing legal sales and illegal sales as being one and the same in order to get their laws limiting possession by the law-abiding accepted as if they would control possession by criminals. They will not and are not even designed to attempt that.

There are, literally, thousands of laws on the books which purport to limit the possession of firearms by criminals and the insane … but they obviously don’t work. The crooks and the crazies pay no attention to anything the government does except to figure out ways of thwarting it.

One prominent reason they are successful in circumventing these laws is that the government has no desire to enforce them.

You can’t keep a criminal from getting a gun … but you can stop an honest man or woman in their tracks with a piece of paper (backed up by a gun).

I am not a fan of Wayne LaPierre, but he’s right: it takes a good guy with a gun to stop a bad guy with a gun )and the gun/people control lobby intends to disarm the good guys).

I think our president needs to get out more. Nowhere in the USA are people buying guns because guns are easier to buy than books or vegetables.

What really scares me are the people listening to Mr. Obama and believing this kind of propaganda.

He’s talking about ‘hoods like in mostly black urban centers where liquor stores and gun shops alternate corners.
You’re bemoaning the wrong aspect of the situation, Mr. Obama. Look into the failure of the family unit and prevalence of gangs in urban black America. Make changes there, and all crime, not just gun violence, would drop significantly.
It’s not really about crime, which has been on a downward trend since the Clinton Administration. It’s about government control. It’s too easy for career politicians to forget they serve at the pleasure of the citizenry, and not vice versa. We need to install term limits, and limit careers in ANY form of government to ten years. After 10 years, these people can go out and live in the society their legislation has created, rather than be insulated from it by lifetime pensions and sweetheart benefit packages funded by thee and me, the taxpayer.

The 2-faced rhetoric seems never ending from this worthless administration. I have to turn the radio off anymore when he is played. The very sound of his voice is nauseating to me. Can’t think of any 2 year period I have wanted to go by faster then his final 2. How can the Kool-Aid drinkers handle the taste of what he dishes out. It is baffling.
