Russian Jets Fly Dangerously Close to U.S. Warships in ‘Simulated Attack’

Authors Current Events Jordan Michaels Military This Week

Two Russian attack planes and one Russian helicopter flew dangerously close to the U.S.S. Donald Cook in the Baltic Sea on Monday and Tuesday, according to defense officials quoted by NBC News and multiple additional media outlets.

According to U.S. officials, the Cook was operating 70 miles from Russia in international waters when the aircraft buzzed the ship in one of the “most aggressive” acts by the Russians in some time. The Telegraph reported that one official even said the warplanes were carrying out a “simulated attack profile.”

The White House called Russia’s tactics “entirely inconsistent with the professional norms of militaries operating in proximity to each other” and noted the “repeated incidents over the last year where the Russian military has… come close enough to other air and sea traffic to raise serious safety concerns.”

White House Press Secretary John Earnest did not mention any specific actions being taken by the administration, but assured the public they “continue to be concerned about this behavior.”

Well as long as they’re concerned…

The truth is, this administration has shown itself to be woefully unconcerned about defending American liberty—abroad and at home.

Politico published an article today in which the author describes how Russian aggression in Ukraine caught the U.S. government flat-footed, both from a technological and manpower perspective: “While Russian President Vladimir Putin undertook an aggressive military buildup, the U.S. Army actually drew up plans to shrink the active-duty force by some 40,000, from about 490,000 to 450,000 over the next several years. That plan is now in question.”

To make matters worse, the U.S. government has dedicated itself to ensuring American citizens won’t be able to defend their interests at home, either.

The President’s aggressive (though ultimately ineffective) executive actions against gun owners demonstrate his firm anti-gun position. The Department of Veteran Affairs has revoked the Second Amendment rights of hundreds of thousands of former members of the military, and the Social Security Administration has done the same for those who receive social security and disability benefits.

At a time when, according to Politico, Russia is “rebuilding its own forces to potentially counter America’s tactics,” our government is seeking to disarm perhaps the greatest deterrent to invasion: the well-armed American citizen. Russia is posing the greatest threat since the Cold War, while hundreds of Congresspeople seem more worried about banning 30-round magazines for law-abiding citizens.

Talk about misplaced priorities.

The Second Amendment is a powerful tool against foreign invasion. As this veteran of the war in Iraq explains, resistance forces equipped with even the most basic weaponry can have a profound effect on a more advanced invading army. The War for Independence illustrates the truth of this as well.

Russia may be building its forces, but as long as the Second Amendment remains intact the American people have the chance to defend their liberty—no matter what the government does.

I’d think it is ridiculous to think that a less than 10% decrease in our massive military troop size has much of an affect on national security. We are increasingly turning more and more towards air power and drones and away from infantry actions. On top of that, WE ARE NOT OFFICIALLY AT WAR!

WOW! You’re trying to get people on board with going to war with Russia/Europe? Are you in bed with the military Industrial complex?? Russia is not the “Soviet union” anymore. The enemy is MUSLIM terrorists, not Eastern Europeans, or whoever the government arms dealers can scrape up to use as possible enemies. I am a gun owner, as is my family, and I thought that your site was supportive of our rights. Now I see that you have your own agenda. Reminds me of the Republican Establishment many of us are disgusted with. I’m done with you and will pass this along to others. By the way, imagine how much we would gain if we actually corroborated with Russians in our fight with the Muslims who kill our citizens? I think these terrorists might run away in fear, Two powerful superpowers that aren’t focused on monetary gains from military arms sales, How many Americans have to die before the right thing is done?

It is NATO trying to start a war with Russia, not Americans.

This site references a situation that happened. Go read msnbc/cnn for war mongering. They support Obama and he’s the one who sent Nuland to work with soros to overthrow the Ukrainian gov. Obama admitted it was a coup. After that, Russia did their business in Crimea. The old and new Ukrainian governments are in it for themselves, they’re both corrupt.

The problem with hybrid war ( we’re at war with Russia and they us) is that Obama is leading us and our aims are murky at best. There are no American interests to protect. There are no civilians in danger until the wars go kinetic.

I don’t support Russia nor Putin. But look at the encroachment of NATO bases coming closer to their border. The broken promises of NATO not expanding towards Russia. It’s hybrid war and Russia is responding to our attacks.

I doubt it will end in November. I doubt it has much to do with red team blue team BS.

But don’t indict this site for reporting.

Obama is openly threatening to send MANPADs to the terrorists in Syria.

    The next day, this happens.

Russia doesn’t act in a vacuum.
Notice it was not carrying any weapons.
