Sanders Wants to Ban Guns ‘Used to Kill People, Exclusively’

2nd Amendment – R2KBA Authors Current Events S.H. Blannelberry This Week

For left-leaning gun owners presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is an attractive candidate in that he is not as rabidly anti-gun as Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton.

Sanders, a U.S. Sen. from Vermont, believes “common ground” gun laws are what the country needs to keep guns out of the hands of bad guys.

“Coming from a rural state, I think I can communicate with folks coming from urban states, where guns mean different things than they do in Vermont, where [they are] used for hunting,” Sanders explained.

“Nobody should have a gun who has a criminal background, was involved in domestic abuse situations. People should not have guns who are going to hurt other people, who are unstable,” he added. “We need to make sure that certain types of guns used to kill people, exclusively, not for hunting, should not be sold in the United States of America.”

What Sanders means by “guns used to kill people, exclusively,” is not quite clear. Realistically speaking, there is no firearm that is “exclusively” used to kill. All guns are tools and have a wide range of applications, from self-defense, to hunting, shooting sports and competition, recreational plinking, etc. Certain guns excel at one task over another but there isn’t a firearm that is “exclusively used to kill people.”

So, what is Bernie saying? That we should ban all handguns? If so, he’d be depriving millions of Americans their fundamental right to self-defense? Maybe he is saying we should ban all modern sporting rifles? However, those are used for hunting, plinking and competition — plus, they are rarely used in the commission of a crime.

Sen. Sanders seems to want to have it both ways. He wants to tout his support for the Second Amendment while at the same time telling law-abiding citizens what guns they shouldn’t be allowed to possess. Needless to say, that dog won’t hunt. I can’t see too many gun owners, whether they’re right wing or left wing, voting for Sanders in 2016.

The democratic party has morphed into the Marxist Party. They ignore the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. Recently 3 democrats
    on the FEC,
recommended “No negative political speech should be permitted “. By By Free Speech.
Cuban Americans have said the U.S. is morphing into a Communist Country. They know what that is !!!!

Tell the people of Vermont that, Bernie – that they see guns as ‘for hunting’ primarily. Then explain to us whether all those concealed-carry-without-any-permit-whatever handguns they have are for hunting. Bernie is as big a phony baloney as Hillary is when she talks about the banks.

Bernie is between a rock and a hard place. He has to make a stand on guns and it has to be somewhat in line with the Dem’s crazy thinking. I feel that automatic weapons are the only guns used to kill people, that is what they were designed for and that is the way it is. The fact that a citizen can not buy one unless it’s tax had been already paid for, means these are extreeme colectors’ items and he will have a hard time taking those away.
He may lump in large capacity semiauto forearms, but he will have a fight on his hands there also. He has already stated that the handguns you have for protection are ok in his book and that he does support hunting. Believe me, if it were Bernie or Clinton, I would not like it, but no way would Clinton get my vote.

I do not understand why he has a D- from the NRA. It seems to me there are many Republicans who are worse on gun ownership than he is, remember Reagan? I believe that most politicions want our guns, it is about control. Even if they enjoy shooting sports they have to bow down to thier masters, the huge multinational corporations that play both sides of the fence to get what they want. We must remain vigilent and watch out. They are scared that the American people may try to remain free. This is why every shooting makes national news and they are trying to make it not politically correct to own a gun.

Bernie is a Marxist lunatic (as is Hillary). However well-meaning he might be, he’s operating from a set of principles that, if put into effect, eventually give government total control over everyone and everything (eliminating what’s left of the personal and economic liberty that made this country great).

In order to impose complete socialism, the public must be disarmed — a people with the means to resist, at least the ones who recognize what’s happening, will not voluntarily give up control over their lives, businesses and property (and their right to self-defense) without attempting to stop it. Disarming the public is done incrementally at first, banning certain categories of people from ownership, banning particular types of arms, ammunition, etc., and by continually increasing taxes and regulation until many people give up on owning arms because of the hassle and expense (meanwhile building a data base of all gun owners and what they have). When government feels strong enough, and the number of gun owners has been reduced to a level they think they can handle, then possession of arms by the general public will be outlawed.

This is how the public was disarmed in Britain and Australia, and anyone looking back over the progression of gun-control laws in the US since 1934 can see how much of it has already been put in place here — and reading the news and listening to the politicians shows how much more of it is presently in the works. If the ignorant and misinformed in this country keep electing leftist politicians, they will eventually finish the job — however long it takes. We won’t be disarmed in some sort of sudden storm, but by government nibbling at our rights a little at a time, until nothing is left. Gun control was never about safety, or crime (most politicians could care less) — it’s about gaining and preserving the power to rule.

I’m just tired of hearing all this anti American garbage from the left. I’ve been a democrat all my life,I’m 58 and I’m done with them! My wife YELLS at me claiming guns are not a important issue. She is afraid of loosing her Obama care that has gotten so expensive we are having a hard time paying for. It’s about our RIGHTS! What the heck is more important than that?!

Bernie is in the wrong country. The UK adopted this “sporting purpose” mind-set concerning guns years ago. Now, knives have to be registered there. Are blunt instruments next ? God deliver us from stupid statist elites who care about our society’s safety, but can’t figure out why a criminal serving out his full sentence is a good idea.

Judges have blood on their hands. Look up the crisis in Jackson county Missouri. It’s disgusting. Babies shot, guns blamed and criminals walk free on massively violent crime convictions due to judges.

Mayor of Kansas City even tried to ban open carry just because a gun fight broke out between two kids near him. He came to visit the most upscale shopping district in the state that has been flooded with rioters on a weekly basis. Shootings kept breaking out, customers fled. He came down to do a press the flesh and got thrown in the bushes by his guards. Bang bang bang. Kids shooting kids so no one got hit.

Liberals say they want gun control but we need to be honest with ourselves that every traditional implementation failed. Always remind a liberal gun control has been used only to control black Americans.

The only gun control that is actually threatening are the methods not yet tried. Hence, the ssa attack on seniors. The bullet ban made the atf head quit. Six heads in six years. Gun control can’t happen.

I believe in gun control. gun control to me is hitting your target the first time. and save the next round for the next trouble maker!

He had defined the nebulous term, before.

He means every semi auto gun.

Figure he’d have learned what his people went through when they gave up their arms in Germany. But every population, no matter their average iq, is going to have people on the low end of the curve.

Only benefit to Bernie is his relative lack of knowledge of how to conduct corruption. Won’t stop him from investing in Ruger, Smith & Wesson then pushing gun control to make his stocks rise. They won’t ban. They just like profiting from the threat of banning.

Seems to me, throughout history, revolvers have killed more people than semi-auto handguns. Similarly, more people have been killed with edged weapons and/or blunt objects than will ever been killed with semi-auto handguns.
