Sen. Chuck Schumer has earned the ire of a prominent gun-control organization after dithering on his promise to reintroduce a bill that would criminalize private transfers, aka mandate universal background checks for all gun purchases, including those made between private buyers and sellers.

It was the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence that publicly blasted Schumer this morning in a press release, lamenting the fact that he “has not yet delivered on that promise.”

“Last fall, Senator Schumer promised the room in New York City that was packed with leaders from our organization and from around the country, advocates, gun violence victims…he would bring a bill to expand Brady background checks,” early next year, said Brady president Dan Gross, according to CBS News.

“Senator Schumer has not yet delivered on that promise,” added Gross.

The Brady Campaign awarded Schumer the organization’s “Sarah Brady Visionary Award” in November 2015. At the event, the Democratic senator from New York made his legislative intentions clear.

“If we could do it then, we can do it now,” Schumer said, referencing his work to pass the Brady Bill in the 1990s. “We are going to bring the universal background check bill to the floor of the Senate, early next year, and with your help we’re going to win!”

Well, it’s almost June and no background check bill. Hence the ire of the Brady Campaign.

A spokesman for Schumer’s office said the bill was going to be introduced Monday.

“As the author of the Brady law, Sen. Schumer, of course, agrees that there should be universal background checks. To avoid any misunderstanding, he will introduce his universal background check bill today,” said Schumer spokesman Matt House.

The problem for both Schumer and the Brady Campaign is that a universal background check bill is bound to be dead on arrival. The GOP-controlled Senate will kill the bill immediately. So, really, it’s just a waste of time — which might have been the reason Schumer failed to deliver on his promise in the first place. He knew it would go nowhere.

My Democrat Senator from New York, Charles Schumer, and his little shadow, Democrat Senator Kristen Gillibrand, (pictured Above), are up to their old tricks again. They are waiting for Schumer to become the Senate majority, or minority leader when Democrat Senator Harry Reid finally accumulates enough of the taxpayer’s money to retire. It’s not that our “Chucky” is a liberal that matters so much, it’s that he is the Devil’s spawn. The millions of New York City “government check voters” keep this creature in office.

Senator Schumer, Mr. Bloomberg and several others in office all appear to be people that don’t care about freedom, the constitution, or anything that they don’t like! To heck with what the majority of the country wants if they are not inline with their wants. If they were devoted to punish the criminals and their illegal uses of guns then I doubt their false bias would be spreading in a nation that stands for and under a constitution! It makes me ill to think that people such as these elected to preserve and uphold this nations constitutions only uphold it until they are elected!

Champions of 2A New York we must stay in the fight. Not as short tempered, easily provoked folks, but as people who know this to be a steady uphill pull with now and then rewards for continuous perciverance. It is something that l don’t see having finality. The ignorantly fearful will never let up and we must stay forever vigilant. We will have progress because we are right.
