SHOT Show Top 5 Under $100.00

Jon Hodoway SHOT Show 2016

Each year at the SHOT Show the new and cool seem to take center stage. However, the new and cool always seem to have one big drawback.  That is, they’re so gosh darn expensive!

So, to prove the point that the new and cool don’t always have to come with an eye-popping price tag, I set out to find five great, new items under $100.

Packin’ Neat by Kristen – $79.95

The Packin' Neat, a purse organizer and insert that is perfect for carrying a handgun.

The Packin’ Neat, a purse organizer and insert that is perfect for carrying a handgun.

Developed by a woman who wasn’t happy with the concealed carry garment bag options out there, the Packin’ Neat allows purse owners to convert their existing bags into the perfect concealed carry purses (or murses, for you gentlemen with tote bags).

The Packin’ Neat, created by Kristen, is a high-quality durable purse insert.  It’s a holster designed to separate one’s firearm from the traditional contents of one’s purse and organize it at the same time.  Ingenuous!

Rite in the Rain & Space Pen – $40.95

Rite in the Rain, the All-Weather Pen and the Centennial Book.

Rite in the Rain, the All-Weather Pen and the Centennial Book.

For 2016, Rite in the Rain has introduced the limited edition Centennial Bound Books. They are, of course, waterproof. The Centennial series also feature some unique touches, 1/4″ Dot Grid Pattern, Gray Rite in the Rain Paper – 32#, Ribbon Page Marker, Perforated Pages and a Vinyl Pocket.

If one is to use these handsome books, one is going to need an equally-effective and durable writing utensil.  Sure, a pencil will work, but I recommend Rite in the Raid’s All-Weather Pen.  t will write on wet paper and upside down, the pressurized ink cartridge performs in temperatures from -30F to 250F. The ink won’t leak, evaporate or blow up in your pocket!

The All-Weather Pen will write on wet paper and upside down, the pressurized ink cartridge performs in temperatures from -30F to 250F. The ink won’t leak, evaporate or blow up in your pocket!  What more can you ask for?

SHIELDSAK by Loksak-$71.89

This is crazy.

The SHIELDSAK will protect your critical information!

SHIELDSAK is a lightweight, fabric Faraday cage capable of blocking signals that can steal your critical information!

When the item is placed in the SHIELDSAK and sealed correctly, signals are blocked from entering or leaking from the bag. Phones will not ring. Items with ID chips, like passports and credit cards, cannot be scanned. Some electronics contain a tracking device that cannot be turned off; with the SHIELDSAK, they are irrelevant. They have sizes from smartphones to laptops.

Write in Rain pen and notebook? For a lot less you can get a Fischer Space Pen that writes in space and underwater. You can also get poly-treated notebooks with sheets that are relatively waterproof.
Write-in-Rain? Great idea, but it’s already been done.

Yes, it has been done… by write in the rain since 1916 you idiot, they invented this shit.

Why would anyone sacrifice security for a bit of comfort? If you carry inside a purse or “man bag” a purse (or man bag) snatcher won’t only get your money, he will then have a firearm. Wow! Great idea! For the ladies, there are better options out there…

i taught my ol lady to carry her bag over her shoulder like a typical woman would but keep her hand in the bag resting on the butt. if needed let the creep have the bag and let him drag it off the gun. and in severe distress shoot right thru the damned bag..

I’m really uncertain just who you folks are that write this kind of thoughtless comment but once again ignorance flies from the brain to the computer seemingly without pausing for a moment to reason things out. When would a women (or man with whatever brief-case/bag/satchel/murse/man-purse) need protection outside your purse snatch scenario? Many alternative problems leap to mind, attempted rape, assault, car-jacking, hell self-defense in general, etc. etc. etc. I’m sorry your imagination is limited to the apparent Television induced poor frail women getting her purse taken away and boo-hoo he took her gun as well because it was in her purse. Women and men who carry a bag/brief-case/purse etc. are at an advantage when it come to carrying because they have yet another place to conceal a weapon!

Yes everyone is entitled to an opinion or two but it just seems the populace in general has abandoned any sense of reasoning and leap to one feeble idea and then spread it like it is the only reasonable agenda possible without so much as a second thought.
