SilencerCo Integrally Suppressed 9MM Pistol and More

At SHOT Show last year, I had a chance to talk to the folks at SilencerCo about their marketing strategy. As most companies wait until the big dance in January to release a years worth of news, it was surprising to see SilencerCo launching products in the summer. But SilencerCo’s approach is working for them. Why compete with every other coming in the industry in January? Why not own the summer?

They almost missed it this year, but it looks like it was a good event. Jim Grant attended the event on our behalf and will be bringing us more on the event. Until we’ve gotten a complete review of the new cans (and the new 9mm), we’ll have to be content with his first impressions.

But rest assured, we should have the goods in hand by the middle of next month. Below is SilencerCo’s press release of the four products they launched at their “Maxim Vice” event in Key West, FL.

Looks like some pretty cool stuff.

SilencerCo™ has wrapped up our annual product launch event, this year held in Key West, FL on a private catamaran and dubbed “Maxim Vice” – a nod to not only the event location and theme, but also to Hiram P. Maxim, the inventor of the silencer. Mustaches and white linen suits were out en masse, but as always, it was the products that took center stage. During the event we unveiled and shot not one, but four new products – two of which are available immediately, and two of which will be shipping in 2016.

Without further ado, let us introduce you to the Osprey Micro, Hybrid, Radius, and most excitingly – the Maxim 9.

The biggest announcement at Maxim Vice was the reveal of the Maxim 9 – an integrally suppressed 9mm pistol. Never before has a company successfully managed to produce a handgun with an integral silencer that is holsterable and hearing safe with any factory ammunition. This product is primed to take the industry by storm, and we’re proud to to show it to you – our loyal SilencerCo supporters – first.

We’re keeping exact product details under wraps since it is still in the final design stages, but one thing is certain – the Maxim 9 will forever change the way people think about firearms when they realize that there is no longer any reason guns have to be loud.

SilencerCo Weapons Research™ has announced the first way in which we will take your capabilities #BEYONDHUMAN.

Introducing the Radius, a rail mounted rangefinder capable of ranging out to a mile on a reflective target and attaching to a Picatinny rail in any orientation. When we first decided to create our own rail mounted rangefinder, we wanted something that would allow us to range out to incredible distances reliably without having to come off of the gun and without breaking the bank – and that’s exactly what we’re delivering to you. Additional features of the Radius include a user configurable display, continuous ranging for 12 hours with (2) CR123 batteries, and resistance to even extreme elements.

SWR’s stated goal is to bring advanced technology to the public at an attainable price – and with the announcement of a capability-heavy range finder for only $999, we’ve done just that.

Stay tuned as SilencerCo Weapons Research introduces new ways to go #BEYONDHUMAN.

The Osprey Micro is the most versatile, shortest, quietest, and easiest to clean rimfire silencer available.  What makes this silencer truly unique is that it is user-configurable and can be shortened from the already compact size of 4.6” down to a mere 3.1”.  Due to its eccentric design with a flat sight plane, the Osprey Micro is compatible with factory sights and can be holstered.  SilencerCo also plans to release our own holsters made specifically for use with the Osprey Micro.

The Osprey Micro is available for purchase now at a price of $599 and will begin shipping in October of 2015.

The Hybrid is compatible with pistols, rifles, and submachine guns in calibers up to .458 SOCOM and .45-70 – truly the silencer with the widest array of uses – all while boasting stellar sound reduction. Versatility is one of the main selling points of this silencer, as it can be attached via direct thread mount, piston adapter, and fast attach adapter, all of which will be available directly through SilencerCo.

We’re not releasing additional information, as this product won’t be fully announced until January 2016. Stay tuned!

      Why wouldn’t it?

air rifles with integral supressors do not require a tax stamp, but if you were to add a removable supressor to an air rifle, it would require a tax stamp.
