The Springfield XD-S
The Springfield XD-S is the original concealed carry 45 micro pistol. It is lighter, thinner and more compact than any other concealed carry 45. Its triple Ultra Safety Assurance action trigger system brings peace of mind by going beyond the traditional trigger bar safety and adding a beavertail safety and internal firing pin block. It comes with interchangeable backstraps so you can customize the grip to your hand. There are extra fiber optic tubes included for the front sights; one red and one green so you can select the color that works best for you.
Springfield added more features with the Mod.2 that make a great gun even better. The Grip Zone texture is designed to provide positive control in the areas of the grip where it is most effective. It also features a redesigned grip that moves your hand up closer to the bore axis which improves control and reduces felt recoil. The trigger has a shorter reset and the slide is recontoured so it is thinner and has longer and deeper serrations that make it is easier to rack. Springfield also added a tactical rear steel sight that can be used to rack the slide against a table or your belt. Both are great concealed carry guns with a proven track record of reliability.

Regarding those ‘clips’, where did these guys buy their ‘pieces’ ? I don’t have a piece in my armory and can’t find them in any stores. Are they expensive?
I have 2 of these XDS pistols and find the 3.3″bbl almost unmanageable. I prefer the 4″. Thinking that below that should be reserved for 9mm. I have every clip offered and use the shortys with grip exten s ions, for concieled carry. I use the 7 and 8 round clips for open carry to enhance control. As a Slab side l I ver of the old 1911, this is a very useable piece at half the weight.
I must be getting old- because when someone tells me it’s an all polymer frame, like it’s good thing- it always makes me cringe. Plastic is Plastic and no matter which way you swing the sales pitch it’s a cheap manufacturers way of saving money.
The XDs is also available in 9MM. I bought one in FDE a couple of weeks ago. I received my (3) new mags about a week after redeeming my coupon online.

Have both, I like the extended magazines, just makes me feel more comfortable. I don’t have overly large hands, but just feels closer to my full size XD .40. I think it is important to have close to the same “feel” on all of my pistols.
I did the SRT on both and love it!
Also did the Trijicon sights on both and makes all the diff in low light situations (for me)

Anyone with less than pixie sized hands will have a problem with the tiny grip. So Just add a grip extension and use seven round mags to increase the grip? This results in a full size grip as found on numerous other less than full sized semi autos. For me this is another case of a solution looking for a problem.
I have large hands and the with the addition of a small Pearce grip extension I have no problem getting all four fingers on the grip. This gun is still very easy to conceal carry, but is much more usable than the “pocket sized” guns. Carry what you like, but I mention this for those that may be concerned about the grip size.
Sorry all these now look similar, to me it comes down to price. And 6 rounds? So no difference from having a wheel gun……….what’s the point with that?
I like revolvers, but at less than 1 inch in width I find this much easier to carry IWB than a revolver. An extra mag or two on the belt or in the pocket are also good for fast reloads and not as bulky to carry as revolver speed loaders.
Kahr PM45
At 17.3 oz it lighter
At 4.49” TOTAL height x 5.75” long its more compact
Kahr no where near the quality of Springfield. Kahr is a tier 2 weapon.
I do like the Springfield line but the Kahr PM45 is my favorite CCW.
