Steiner M830R
This is one legitimate piece of equipment.
Steiner has made very high-end optics for the military for a very long time, but I haven’t seen a lot from them on the civilian side. That ends now. The latest offering isn’t likely to be featured at your local Cabela’s, but it is available if you can stack up enough coins.
The M830R is the legendary Steiner binoculars, with a range finder built-in. Not some repurposed golf range finder either, this bad boy reaches six klicks!
Never mind shooting, that is far enough for artillery and mortars. With that level of hardware combined with Steiner’s clarity of glass, anything you can hit with a rifle should be child’s play to range.

That’s not all it does, though. This model also has a Bluetooth link directly to your Kestrel running Applied Ballistics software and it will update your firing solution as you range. Wow! It’s almost like cheating, and I very much approve of that message. The price tag is hefty at around $10,000, but this is a very serious set of gear.
DBAL
DBAL stands for Dual Beam Aiming Lasers. Civilian DBAL goes for $1,099.
Not new from Steiner this year, but something we will be spending more time on in our reviews, is the DBAL (Dual Beam Aiming Lasers) series of laser aiming devices.
Before SHOT, I had a chance to train some Police Officers that have the DBAL issued. I was very impressed with the clarity and focus of the laser, and the slim profile of the unit. There is a lot to like in this package, expect a full review coming soon.

You go on their website the videos say 6000 meters but the description says 1800 yards with comments that its not even ranging to 1100
It’s always interesting to learn, but what would any civilian but a Mariner need with a 6 Klick Bino?!?
Seems like a very limited market.
Markets can appear if a solution is there to facilitate the new premise. Long range shooting, as a market, was limited by the technical solutions available.
