Overview

Falkor Defense has come out swinging with a couple of different products this year. Falkor is most famous for magnum cartridge AR-style rifles, notably in .300 Winchester Magnum. That is a lot of cartidge to get in semi auto, but apparently Falkor fears no challenge.

Falkor Defense is making some truly cutting-edge precision rifles with advanced technology.

Petra

They have now upped the ante with a model in .300 Norma Magnum. Very interesting. In a SHOT Show packed with new 6.5 Creedmoor and .260 Rem. guns, we didn’t see a lot of development for .300 Norma, even though SOCOM has selected it for the ASR (Advanced Sniper Rifle). More on this cartridge later, but Falkor has set the tone with this one.

The Blitz in 300 BLK is a handy little SBR that is ideal for CQB.

Blitz

On the much smaller side of things, Falkor also has a new SBR in 300 AAC called the Blitz, which is kind of like Caterpiller making a Smart Car. The rifle looks like a winner, and features an inventive new stock system that is sure to be popular. It has a $400 price tag, but it folds down to an unbelievably small size. For people that actually use these things for work, it is sure to be a winner.

Specs

  • Chambering: 300 BLK
  • Barrel: 10.5 inches
  • OA Length: 28.25 inches
  • Weight: 5.75 pounds
  • Stock: Minimalist stock
  • Action: Semi-auto

The heart of Falkor’s products is its high-end barrel systems that wring out the most performance possible.

By far the biggest news at Falkor is that they now feature Telludyne Straight Jacket barrels as an option, and sell those barrels for your favorite system. In the Falkor line it is called the DRAKOS system, and features insanely advanced heat reduction and rigidity to weight ratios. Read more on this system from GunsAmerica back in 2010. https://www.gunsamerica.com/blog/extreme-accuracy-makeover-the-teludyne-tti-tech-straightjacket/.

Why this hasn’t caught on more, I don’t know. But I will be sending a barrel in very soon, and then we will beat the piss out of it so we know for sure.

Again, thanks gunsamerica for featuring yet another overpriced novelty gun that the average Joe like myself would never buy. That’s neato and everything, but forget it.

Such a douche troll. Technology comes at a cost. Do you think the R&D for the technology in this gun is free? Do you know what R&D is? Do you know how to run a business? Probably not. So shut the fuck up! Don’t hate on companies that are breaking through with unbelievable technology that can lead to increased accuracy. Such a douche!

My B.A.R. in 300 win mag functions perfectly and it is my most accurate rifle. Only downside, very heavy. Jon.

Where’s the $400 rifle mentioned? All I saw were way overpriced ar looking rifles. Not even if I hit the lottery would I spend that on an ar. Ridiculous.

I thought I read the same thing… After a double take, I noticed the STOCK is $400. Rifle is over $2600.

Clay! Thanks for bringing light on the .300 Norma Mag. Yes, at first I thought you made a typo. I hadn’t heard of it till you mentioned it, but after a short google search, I find this to be an interesting choice. I think Norma’s are under rated and under estimated at times. Would love to shoot one some day….after I win the lottery…lol. Oh, that’s right….gotta play it to win.
