Impression

The X-Ring isn’t just a 10/22 with some fancy parts added on. The entire rifle, to include the receiver, is built in-house by Tactical Solutions. The takedown system works similar to the Ruger version; depress one button, and the barrel twists off with ease. The secret 2017 sauce is in the furniture. The new Magpul stock is light weight, but feels big enough to fit a grown man. The barrel snaps into the stock to protect the chamber, and holds the package together in your pack. The buttstock features an oversize compartment to hold magazines and a suppressor. The barrel is classic Tactical Solutions steel sleeved in aluminum for rigidity and weight reduction, and this model comes with fiber optic rifle sights. All in all, this looks like a pretty fantastic package. Tactical Solutions is always at the forefront of innovation in the rimfire world, and the X-Ring Takedown is sure to be a winner.

Well, BillyBob, I don’t think that Tresa was wanting a blow by blow account of how to build one, she probably felt like I did after seeing some YouTube videos doing the exact same thing as you say you did. My thought was you saw the video and decided, in your jackass brain, to try to con those of us who aren’t quite as smart as you are with OUR drinking habits into believing that you actually built all these fine shooting weapons that you are bragging about. Hey well, I built one just like yours exactly and went out one sunny afternoon this Fall and shot me a 310 lb. 14 point buck on my grandpa’s farm with it. One shot, …….. Ptow!! Right through the brain!! Pig Man’s got nothin’ on me!! ……… (How’s that for slingin’ some Bull Puckey, li’l fella??)

BTW son, ya got a real way with words with the ladies ……..

    has everyone gone stupid.

has everyone gone stupid? My Marlin 39A will still shoot just as well and it is over 50 yrs old. The metal and the workmanship are not that much different today as it was then. Nowhere near $1100.00. This company is off the rails.

    • Andrew February 1, 2017, 9:52 am

      1100 is “MSRP”, not “Retail”.

But have you priced a Marlin 39A lately?
They’re not exactly in “10-22” price range unless it’s been dragged behind a truck or left in the bed of a truck a few weeks.

  • Martin Mc January 31, 2017, 2:54 pm

    are you for real? an

are u 4 real? my mother bought my 1st 22 @ 12yrs. It was a marlin 39A. used. but who in their right mind would give $1100.00 for 22. your greed

    $1100.00

  • Danny C. January 31, 2017, 11:10 am

$1,100? Are you kidding. Ruger makes a 10/22 takedown with a Tacstar adjustable stock. It even has a place for 2-10rd rotary mags in the buttstock. They come in black and several camo patterns and all for under $400. If you already have a takedown 10/22 you can buy the Tacstar stock for about $100. Add a suppressor and your still well under $1,000. Just my 2 cents worth.

What type of market research went into determining the need and price point? Any? Hopefully the hysteria of yesterday is over for the time being in the gun industry.

  • Spartacus1239 January 31, 2017, 9:07 am

Is this company mental? you can get VERY nice take down .22’s for $225.00 – $350.00. Henry, Marlin, Ruger… Just to name a few.

  • solvermn January 31, 2017, 6:32 am

I love 22 cal . As long as you work with their limitations they are very good weapons, still there are many superior rifles and shotguns I could buy for about the same price. This is a nice package but I personally will not pay $1100 for any 22 cal

    • jason January 31, 2017, 6:56 am

yeah good luck don’t get me wrong looks sweet but I would never pay $1,1100 for a 22 and if I was it would be a ruger which my ruger take down even has day night vision red dot on top of being a much better gun for half the price ! with top notch adds don’t think they will be selling many of those money is tight for a lot of people my opinion price should be right around $349.99
