“Heroes,” Said Texas Police Spokesman James McLellan

A Texas police department has released details about a shooting that took place last Friday in Irving, Texas, part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Two officers were involved in a shooting that left one man dead, reports the Dallas Morning News.

The man, 29-year-old Christopher Michael Dew, had taken a woman hostage after police arrived at the scene of a robbery at a check-cashing facility. Police identified the deceased suspect over the weekend in a statement.

“The two officers were here quickly, within minutes and were able to engage the suspect,” said Irving Police spokesman James McLellan. “They couldn’t let him leave with the hostage.”

“By all appearances, this was the last resort for them.” According to both police officers the suspect was threatening to force the hostage a vehicle before the shooting happened. Their statements were backed up by video taken at the crime scene by a witness.

Both officers shot Dew who was armed with a handgun. The hostage, who police have not identified, was not harmed. The other employees hid themselves in a locked room and were also unharmed.

Police were alerted to the robbery when employees tripped an alarm. The officers involved in the shooting have been placed on administrative leave. This is a routine action for many police departments nation-wide.

Check-cashing locations have been popular targets in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, with robberies happening about once a week. Dew was previously convicted of aggravated robbery in 2007. He died at the scene.

As a retired Psychologist for over 35yrs I can say easily that if this were done more often the cost of trials, incarceration, and harm to the victims would be greatly diminished. These creeps are not ever going to be changed. There is no doubt of the crime when the perpetrator is caught in the act so there should be no question of the shooting by the Police. I firmly state as a Psychologist that Mental Illness is no defense in any crime. Fact is, it should be more of a factor to find the perpetrator guilty and the death penalty imposed rather than incarceration with its cost to the taxpayer.

I believe very strongly in Darwin’s theories and laws of survival of the species. This is a perfect case in point. The quicker we eliminate the “Thug” line of genes from the pool, the better the remaining gene pool turns out. In the wild, natural selection eliminates out the bad genes “naturally” but in the case of humans, where we are at the top of the food chain, with no natural predators to thin out the bad genes, we have to rely on artificial means. In this case, the defective gene carrier was eliminated with the $1.00 solution.

As soon as we can, we need to cleanse the “Thug” gene pool so we can get back to our thug free evolution. White, black, yellow or green; the thugs must be exterminated.

I’m so happy to finally find a site that the people posting comments are making since and I agree with all of it. It would be great to see the TLDM movement. The only ones who really care about thug lives are other thugs and theys momma’s and dadda’s

I too, as well love a happy ending. Additionally, the good tax payers there in Texas are spared the cost of housing, feeding, and court proceedings of this miscreant.

Lastly, I hope the police agency sends the relatives of this a crook a bill for the cost of the expended rounds!

    Molon Labe, y’all !

I just love happy endings. I wonder when the blacks will start protesting and rioting because of these ‘racist’ cops; Al Sharpton will probably be there fanning the flames (no pun intended).

Bernie Sanders stated in his debate with Hilary that if elected president he intends to reduce the prison population by 50%. So my guess is that if that does happen stories will be more common place. Hilary, at the same debate, stated that Wisconson was one of the most racist states in the union simply because the number of blacks and Lations incarcerated in Wisconson was disportionatly higher than than any other ethnic group. That didn’t make any sense to me if black/Lations make up 2/3ds of the prison population and people of European desent make up 1/3rd I would call that equal opportunity inprisonment.
Both called for the demilitarization of the police and if either of these clowns are elected I imagine that most police forces will be hampered to the point of not being able to properly doing their jobs. This isn’t 1960 anymore and we don’t live in Mayberry. If the police can just the need for modern armement then they should have the best they can get because if Bernie has his way they are going to need it and as stated above stories like this will be more common place.

The suspect had previously been arrested in 2007 for another robbery. These idiots just dont learn. What happened was the most humane way to end the situation. The victim is safe, the repeat offender suspect is dead, the taxpayers are not having to pay for his stay at the greybar Inn, and no one else will be victimized by this animal. The only down side is I feel bad for the Officer, he has to live knowing he took a life. But it is a chance you take being an Officer. Great job by all involved. Of course obunghole will send the D. O. J. down to Investigate the 2 white Officers for depriving the misunderstood youth. Yeah right.

An cop that feels bad about a shooting like this should go apply for a job as a social worker, since he has no business being a cop.

This whiney B.S. that the liberals have been pimping serves the police, and the public, poorly. I actually doubt whether most of the cops who spout this poisonous “Oh, I feel so bad” nonsense really feel that way, but instead figure it’s the safest way to keep the left-wing lawyers and Al Sharpton off their backs.

I was attacked in Boston a number of decades back by a punk with a big knife and a small brain. Fortunately, he was high as a kite and I managed to take the knife away and kill him — an in the meantime collecting a bad leg wound, a serious gut cut, and some superficial wounds to the arms. Fortunately there were several witnesses, and the cops told me this little thug (who was around 19 as I recall) was a third-generation junkie whose father and uncle were currently guests of the Massachusetts taxpayers for violent crimes.

The only feelings I have ever had over the incident are of amusement and satisfaction, knowing that I probably saved some lives down the road by ending his miserable existence.

Hillery Clinton would have said,…..no, no, no this boy had only committed a prank and should never have been shot!
Poor guy didn’t have one of Beyoncé’s “hands up – don’t shoot” signs with him.

If this is the one I saw on Facebook the Police Officer shot him from about 15 or so yards with an AR 15 The guy refused to let the hostage go. Tuff luck.

Good job guys. Yet another pos removed from this world.

  • Slim February 4, 2016, 7:02 pm

Sad the young thug had to get shot dead before he would put the weapon down.

    • paul February 12, 2016, 10:15 am

Why do you think it is sad? The man was in control of his own destiny. He knew what jail was and did not want to go back. He took his shot at easy money, it didn’t work. He would be alive today if he did as he was told. He didn’t, it was his own choice.

    • Smoke Hill Farm February 14, 2016, 10:06 pm

Not sad at all. The odds that he would ever stop robbing people and threatening their lives are so close to zero as to be laughable. In fact, there is a very large chance that he would, as most thugs, just increase his level of violence as he progressed in his chosen career.

He deserved exactly what he got, and there is nothing sad at all about the outcome.

  • SuperG February 4, 2016, 4:15 pm

I’m glad that another repeat offender is off the streets for good.
