    Glad you guys liked it.
I found it to be nonsense.
I’ve had to clear my house many times in the middle of the night. (noisy pets).
Do you not know your house? Can’t you see and navigate it in the dark? I sure as hell can.
If you can’t, you should practice.
Let me just say, I would never have a light on my firearm unless I wanted to give up my position or blind myself..
Try this to prove it to yourself.
When you wake up to go to the bathroom, use a flashlight and see what happens.
    It blinds you.
My way of thinking couldn’t be more different than those guys.
I have an un chambered .40 PPQ in my hand under my pillow propping my head for comfort. (I love my Q) in case I’m surprised.
I also have a 870-7+1-00 buck in the mag and 6 slugs on a side saddle.
It’s 2 ft. away in a safe with the key in the lock while I sleep (keys on me otherwise)
It’s more for the crash or voices, meaning more than 1 person. Or to barricade in the back room.
There are warnings outside and I’m very locked up, so no drunks can wander in and you must be very serious to gain access.
So there’s no mercy inside, and the dog needs no help outside except from the police.
My plan is to shoot low to protect family and neighbors. Bad guys get it in the knees b-4 the head.
Buck & slugs are because I may want to shoot through walls and furnature.
I sleep light and very peacefully.

My wife – cold cream, hair in curlers, ratty bathrobe & slippers The threat will run screamin’ into the night

We are talking about the word preparation for self-defense. The odds are that most of us will never experience a true nighttime threat, but what if……..
For my “what if”, I have a Taurus 24/7 OSS DS .45 apc at my bedside. I like it because I can leave it in place and the kids can’t hurt themselves with it since I wear the integral lock key on my neck chain. Yup, magazine fully loaded in the pistol and it can’t be fired without the key on my person.

If the threat is still coming at me, (unlikely), or there are multiple threats approaching, I have my Mossberg 590A1 with nine 12 gauge double 00 shells ready to go. Yeah, the trigger lock key is on my neck chain too. I don’t care what is coming at me, it will lose interest in breathing after 9 lead balls traveling at 1200 fps hit it. And don’t forget I still have eight more to pump into the chamber of that Mossberg. One 12 gauge blast has twice the energy of a .44 caliber magnum bullet!

By the way, the Mossberg 590A1 is the only shotgun that passed the Army’s endurance and reliance tests.

I like my Ruger GP100 loaded with factory 125 gr HP for things that go bump in the night, given that the environment is my house. Camping…Redhawk. 240 gr HP factory.

This video covers it all. Very unbiased & I like the fact that they genericly recommend certain firearms focusing on their defense potential and not necessarily on their branding. Another great job by iraqvetern8888.

that is an extremely well done video. I’ve been training police officers for many years and I appreciated well thought out advice without personal prejudices included. Very impressive.
