Move over bump fire stocks and binary triggers, there’s a new select fire workaround in town. It’s called the AutoGlove!

Yes, the AutoGlove, a patented trigger assist device, or TAD, that will give your semiautomatic nail gun, paintball gun or firearm double tap, 3-round burst or “mag dump” capabilities. What does that mean?  It means you can program your AutoGlove to fire at rates up to 1,000 rounds per minute.

How does it work? First thing to know is that nothing attaches to the gun. Everything is affixed to the AutoGlove, except the battery pack which powers the TAD that can be placed around the user’s waist. On the glove you have the TAD, which rests on the index finger of the glove, and the plunger, which operates the TAD, that rests on the middle finger of the glove.

With the glove on, to operate the electronically-powered TAD, you place it against the trigger with your index finger and push down on the plunger by touching your thumb to your middle finger. Make sense? Maybe not. This is really something you have to see to believe.

Now there are some drawbacks to the AutoGlove. The first is that the product is under review by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. This means purchasers should NOT use it on firearms.

As the website cleary states, “Please note that the AutoGlove is currently pending BATFE approval for use on firearms and until such approval is received by AutoGlove USA, buyers of the AutoGlove agree to only use the AutoGlove on semiautomatic paintball guns or other legal equipment with a trigger. We anticipate a response from the BATFE on or before 11/3/2017 per their recorded line.”

Next, the AutoGlove requires a minimum space inside the trigger guard and in front of the trigger of approximately 3/4” by 3/4” and a trigger pull less than 3 pounds. In other words, on some platforms the AutoGlove may not work at all and, on others, adjusting or even outright replacing the trigger may be required.

Lastly, it’s not cheap. The AutoGlove retails for $349. That said, early birds can pick one up for $299.  To order your AutoGlove, visit the website.

The first production run is scheduled for Sept. 2017. The purveyors of the website caution that a 30-day lead time “will be needed to manufacture and ship out each order.”

Why would anyone need one of these unless you are planning on going to war? The vast majority of the time a well aimed semi-auto fire is quite effective. I say this as Viet Nam vet and having seen the “spray and pray” method as opposed to the accurate fire method. One hundred misses are not as good as one hit!

  • William Wierman August 8, 2017, 3:40 pm

Looks very unsafe! And contradicts all the techniques we’ve been taught from day one. No way this is more accurate than other “rapid fire” devices.

  • Daniel Braatz August 6, 2017, 6:07 pm

Most people think this is ridiculous. One person though it worked & liked it. Both views are beside the point that there should be no need for anyone to consider inventing something like this in the 1st place; or bump fire stocks, or binary triggers. The right to the availability of modern firearms should not be infringed

  • allen mcdowell August 6, 2017, 5:26 am

OMG the dumbest invention i have seen in a long time

  • Jay August 5, 2017, 8:34 am

I had to read this because I thought it was a joke! Apparently not but should be, come on, you can bump fire without some contraption glove or a stock that moves but it’s your money folks!

  • Horse McGillicutty August 5, 2017, 7:57 am

This is seriously the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen in my entire life.

  • Joseph Tippmann August 4, 2017, 9:24 pm

I have used this trigger activator it works great. The makers have made many improvements. It\’s fun to shoot and it\’s more accurate than any bump trigger because it allows you to get a good grip on your weapon as you shoot. It would take six to ten thousand rounds to run the batteries down maybe more. That\’s more ammo than I can afford. It provides a fun full day at the range. Works great on paintball guns too. It\’s comfortable and easy to use. Some of you guys are just like any other gun Hater, you blame the illegal or improper use of a weapon on the weapon. Grow up.

    • Sharon October 2, 2017, 1:59 pm

WE should grow up? I AM a firearms gal, and your defense of a dangerous TOY like this makes you a selfish, immature, irresponsible gun owner!! Disgusted. Live without your fun at the range mister. LAS VEGAS.

      • Rattlerjake November 5, 2018, 8:08 pm

“your defense of a dangerous TOY like this makes you a selfish, immature, irresponsible gun owner!!” So I guess you think this about everything that man has created that is a dangerous toy! Race cars, race planes, jetwings, wingsuits, roller coasters, or thousands of other “dangerous toys”or activities! Just because something is dangerous in the hands of one person doesn’t make it dangerous in everyones! Maybe it is YOU who needs to grow up!

Something the 3 Stooges would invent… Mo Bang, Larry, Bang, Cheese, Bang, Mo, Larry, Cheese, Bang Bang Bang. All the guys in full camo and chest rigs with 42 mags will be drooling over. I will take cover and prepare tourniquets and dial 911

  • Russ H. August 4, 2017, 4:53 pm

I bet if this thing had a Terminator grip and could crush bowling balls people would like it a lot more… Hey, look what I can do!

  • g August 4, 2017, 1:17 pm

Interesting science/engineering project but otherwise it seems a lot of trouble for nothing.

  • Dan August 4, 2017, 12:51 pm

Other than some of the kids (adult kids) I see blowing things up on YouTube, I don’t see any purpose or appeal for this. So if the BATFE gives this a thumbs down, does that mean that it would be illegal to possess, for those who do purchase it, while in the possession of a firearm?

  • mcFoo August 4, 2017, 12:36 pm

OMG.. Really? (smacking forehead with palm). The only thing dumber than the makers of this are the folks who buy one. And this is coming from a die-hard “gadget guy”. I love my gadgets especially firearms-related. But this is just pure stupidity.

  • tiger August 4, 2017, 12:26 pm

Wow I can’t believe this ! BATF is probably rolling on the floor laughing at this. When they get done laughing, they will probably disapprove it because of a safety issue.

  • Bob B August 4, 2017, 12:19 pm

Just the accessory for the homegrown terrorist. Imagine if the San Bernardino shooters had a couple of these, they would have killed everyone, cops and all. Just because you can invent a device, doesn’t mean you should.

    • Brian August 4, 2017, 2:20 pm

There’s a reason our army got away from the high volume, inaccurate fire discipline that was prevalent in Vietnam… and it’s not because all the enemy combatants fell dead when our guys held the trigger and aimed randomly! I’d be far more scared of bad guys who can aim than of this.

    • Russ H. August 4, 2017, 4:22 pm

Just imagine if CA allowed true concealed carry or for those victims to have been armed in San Bernardino. Or we can \”what if the San Bernardino shooters had a nuclear weapon and anti-tank rockets?\” What if they had coordinated better with ISIS who would have gladly provided them with full auto AK\’s, buckets of ammo and grenades? Imagining or \”what iffing\” such things that have happened are useless – other than learning from the mistakes.

  • JoshO August 4, 2017, 11:44 am

That is maybe the dumbest and most potentially dangerous thing I have ever seen.

    • Ron W August 4, 2017, 12:17 pm

echo chamber – totally stupid waste of money and a stupid risk to put yourself through in a real world application, This just gives anti-gun zealots another piece of meat to paint “gun culture” peeps as back asswards rednecks.

  • Bruce Honer August 4, 2017, 11:26 am

This is almost comedic! there are too many points of possible failure and a real potential for accidentally shooting somebody or yourself! And if I were to shell out this kind of money for a Rapid fire alternative, I would most certainly go the binary Trigger route! Case in point for the inventor Having way too much time on his hands

  • Jake August 4, 2017, 11:20 am

It will help you to more readily identify idiots at your gun club.

  • n August 4, 2017, 11:03 am

All the comments that I have read notwithstanding, why have you people given this foolishness a single column inch? Are things that slow on your end? Just what we need! Another way to waste your ammo quicker & faster! No cognitive function required!

  • R J Hamilton August 4, 2017, 10:44 am

If the glove don’t fit you must equite.

    • Dewey August 4, 2017, 11:44 am

Acquit. Equite was Roman cavalry. Here’s the word of the day, illiterate.

    • JoshO August 4, 2017, 11:46 am

      *acquit* Come on, bro.

      • TC August 5, 2017, 12:18 am

Give the guy a break. If he’s like any of the rest of us he’s probably using talk to text.

  • Russ August 4, 2017, 10:10 am

This takes the cake for the most ridiculous gun related item ever. Then the high price on top of it. Well there is the saying there’s a sucker born every minute. Here’s a hint, save your money and don’t waste it on this.

  • bobtheaxolotl August 4, 2017, 10:02 am

$350 for this? It looks like something you could bash together from radio shack parts for about $12. It looks bulky, and fragile, and poorly made. And yet, they’ll probably get thousands of mall ninja purchases. I expect we’ll see king mall-ninja nut’n’fancy doing a 45 minute review droning on about its philosophy of use with endless footage of him in the desert with a duracoated AK in full mall-ninja regalia.

    • Jake August 4, 2017, 11:21 am

Guys like that usually have an SKS. LOL!

  • bobjoe August 4, 2017, 9:53 am

    For $300 I’d just get a binary trigger that I don’t have to plug into a charger…

  • joe martin August 4, 2017, 9:37 am

I’ll file this one right up there with “Thunderwear” for most ridiculous gun gear.

  • Tripwire August 4, 2017, 9:29 am

I’m not now ever have been a fan of the BATF but still why kick them into activity? My first thought was”Battery dies and you have to go to your handgun…Opps. Then I realized this is not meant for real world application, it Mall-Ninjaery at it’s worst.
Come on GA you can do better…

  • rbrittne August 4, 2017, 9:26 am

This ridiculous, overpriced, impractical contraption is doomed to failure! Didnt they do ANY market research???? I bet the BATF is laughing their asses off!

  • Larry Abrams August 4, 2017, 9:10 am

Yep. Just what we need. More ammo for the anti gun crowd… Why in hell does the industry want to become their own worst enemy. What a useless, unneeded item..

    • Tom Hammond August 4, 2017, 10:37 am

My thoughts exactly. Just when lawful gun owners have been making headway on issues like shouldering a pistol’s arm brace and congress is actually considering removing silencers from the 1934 NFA regulations; someone or some company more worried about a few month’s worth of profits than the future of shooting sports and firearm ownership goes and makes something stupid like this.

In addition to the legal aspects, consider how some folks would try using this with an 8lbs AR-10 carbine. 7.62 x 51 may be very controllable when fired from a M60 or M240G machine gun that weighs around 20lbs unloaded. But from a 16″ barrel 8lbs carbine – thats not someone I want to be sharing a range with.

      • Russ H. August 4, 2017, 4:38 pm

8 lbs for a 308/AR10? LOL, I wish! My setup with sling, mount, 4-16x44mm scope weighs 12-13 lbs. More with a 25 rd mag in it. Regardless, you sure wouldn\’t want to be to the left or right of such guy – the concussion would be unbearable if they\’re using a brake. And with a brake it would be quite controllable. But still, at 50 cents a round…

  • Tim S. August 4, 2017, 8:56 am

That is about the dumbest thing I have ever seen…

  • Orville August 4, 2017, 8:54 am

Lame. Perfect example of building something useless that takes more time to build than it takes to throw away

  • Marla Ricahrds August 4, 2017, 8:39 am

    How absolutely RIDICULOUS ….!!!!

    • Carl August 4, 2017, 10:28 am

      Correct!!

  • Gerald Lee August 4, 2017, 8:05 am

I can’t imagine using this cumbersome and silly looking product. Bumpfire is so much easier and controllable.

  • roger August 4, 2017, 7:59 am

Nice to see innovation out side the box. Too far for me. Franklin binary better.

  • Clau August 4, 2017, 7:58 am

Junk. Pity the guy who invested time and energy into developing and researching this.

  • Area 52 August 4, 2017, 7:21 am

Who is going to want to wear all those gizmos just to get a simulated burst of full auto fire. Besides too much can go wrong with it such as batteries going dead , small electronic and mechanic parts breaking etc. Not worth it, stupid looking ,too fragile and obviously nothing more than a range toy.

    • Roger F. Garner August 4, 2017, 7:59 am

Right on, what a piece of crap.

  • Eugene Bertone August 4, 2017, 7:04 am

I guess this is not for everybody but I like it; eps with a 100 rd drum

  • Pseudo August 4, 2017, 6:53 am

Just what is the fascination with shooting full auto, I have fired full auto M14, M16 and M60 before and typically most shots miss the target after the first couple of rounds unless one is typically using a tripod mount, even bipods are apt to move in full auto mode unless held down on some manner.

Back to shooting full auto? Now with all the above mentioned the only full auto I would care to shoot, and this would be a one time event, would be a chain gun. It would be tough enough to afford the ammunition. You do the math at XYZ dolllars per thousand rounds. I have not researched but do they even make a chain gun in 5.56? If not drastically increase the price for 7.62.

    • Caleb August 4, 2017, 11:00 am

      M249 SAW

    • Dewey August 4, 2017, 11:41 am

Full-auto, or a simulation thereof, is like Viagra for inbred rednecks. It fuels their fantasy of defending the trailer park against the advancing hordes of “blue helmets” who they think are going to come and take their guns, and then give them to the immigrants that took their “jerbs”. This is Guns America at its best.

      • Mahatma Muhjesbude August 4, 2017, 12:08 pm

Dewey, HAHAHAA! Can I use that in one of my future articles ? You can always tell a Redneck by how many dead rats are laying on his porch killed by his full auto BB-gun, LMAO!

But I always flipped the selector to full auto before any anticipated firefight. I guess it depends upon the operator, but if you know how to shoot full auto, which almost no one does, because it takes some experience and practice, It creates a huge combat advantage. Especially in the initial seconds of engagement. Kind of like brass knuckles in a barroom brawl.

    • Russ H. August 4, 2017, 4:49 pm

Personally, I really like shooting full auto, its loads of fun! It can get very expensive though so I don\’t do it a lot. The very first gun my wife fired was a full auto MP5K – she loved it!As for the M60, I was an M60 gunner for 1 1/2 yrs and an M2 gunner/TC (50 cal) on an M113 for about the same time. I was quite good with the M60 using a bipod, the M2, meh. Using it on a tripod (sandbagged) I was good. Just takes practice.

  • KC Condit August 4, 2017, 6:14 am

Seems like long way to go to waste a bunch of ammo.

  • David Smith August 4, 2017, 6:09 am

What a waste of time. I just lost 30 seconds of my life watching that video!

    • Bob B August 4, 2017, 12:25 pm

Not me, I skipped to the end. : )

      • David Smith August 4, 2017, 10:28 pm

Curiosity gets me every time 😜

  • RetNavet August 4, 2017, 5:44 am

Does anyone actually think that the BATFE is going to give their seal of approval for this?…..LMFAO….that aside, given the bulk of this contraption I see no practical use

    • Bradley August 4, 2017, 8:48 am

Clearly they do whatever they want, but I would be interested to see what their justification is if they don’t approve it. By their own definition it should be fine.

    • Dav August 4, 2017, 9:37 am

No. The BATFE will never approve this. We all know it. We all know this is one of the dumbest ideas in a pretty long time. Bump fire stocks get through because your finger is technically pulling the trigger individually. I’m still not sure how the binary trigger got through since it is one on pull and one on release, but at least you have to choose to do it so it probably still fits. This just…

  • Joe August 4, 2017, 5:09 am

I’m sure the BATFE will allow this device to be sold providing you promise not to use it on your semi auto gun of choice…

    • rbrittne August 4, 2017, 9:30 am

I bet the guys at BATF are laughing their collective asses off at this…..Sure it will be approved…..just from seeing the short video on how it works and the shooting of it…..You can see it is doomed to failure!

  • Kyle Newman August 4, 2017, 4:54 am

This has got to be the dumbest thing I have ever seen. What is people’s obsession with full auto? They keep coming up with crap like this and it’s going to bite us all in the ass one day.

    • Cyrus August 4, 2017, 6:55 am

I agree – The makers of these kind of things just further the thought process of the Liberalist that we are all crazy. Please stop making shit that proves us a menace to society and not trustworthy! Just Fucking Stupid!

    • deanbob August 4, 2017, 7:27 am

      Too many gangsta movies?

  • Tj2000 August 4, 2017, 4:18 am

Really? I think not only will you find it at your favorite gun website but at your favorite porn site too. Ooooh baby your battery has gone dead.
    Sorry I couldn’t resist……..
    Tj

    • Stef August 4, 2017, 6:36 am

      Lol….

    • Bryan August 4, 2017, 1:22 pm

      @Tj – hahahaha

  • Will Drider August 3, 2017, 10:27 pm

I don’t think this will get approval for firearms applications. Remote trigger levers/actuators have been around a while like on the Ransom rest or shooting machines. If you remotely actuate a trigger (one pull) and the Rube Goldberg gizmo then fires more then one round (motor rotates cam which extends/retracts or oscillates the trigger plunger): you have modified the fire control system and now have a electrically driven machine gun! Though there is no permanent modification to the firearm, deliberate interface of the device to the firearm would create a NFA machinegun. There are probably hundreds of military fully automatic weapons that do not use a typical mechanical “sear” for their operation.

    • Dav August 4, 2017, 9:40 am

      Exactly.
