Chambered in 300 BLK and weighing just 6.7 pounds, the ARC 300 from DoubleStar packs a lot of punch in a handy package.
New at the NRA 2017 Annual Meeting is the DoubleStar ARC 300, which stands for “Always Ready Carbine.” DoubleStar has made a name for itself producing capable AR-style carbines in a range of configurations and chamberings. The 300 BLK carbine is based on the 5.56mm Always Ready Carbine and features an extremely light weight of 6.7 pounds. According to the company, the direct gas impingement carbine will function with both subsonic and supersonic loads.

The upper and lower receivers are forged 7075 T6 aluminum, and the carbines feature forged internal fire control parts. To keep weight to a minimum, the 16-inch barrel is a lightweight profile unit and is encased within a lightweight Samson 15-inch Samson SX M-LOK handguard. To further keep weight to a minimum, the carbine sports a Mortar Plate Buttstock that is minimalist in design and mass. In case the owner wants an adjustable buttstock, DoubleStar includes a collapsible DS4 stock with the carbine.
The ARC 300 has forged upper and lower receivers as well as forged fire control parts for durability.
Topping off the muzzle is DoubleStar’s Big Timber Brake that helps reduce muzzle rise. The counterbored brake threads over the muzzle and comes back to meet the forward end of the handguard. The ARC 300 is priced at an MSRP of $1,370.99.

I just put one together that weighed in at 6.5 lbs. for under $400.00, so why would anyone pay three times this and get less?
That’s awesome. Can you tell me more about your built. Money is tight. I’m a single dad on Workmans comp. So anyway to make a cool rifle and save a lot of money. So I don’t feel guilty. Like I’m taking stuff away from my son would be awesome.

Except this one at least shoots something other than 5.56. Having 300 BLK as an option is nice.

Yup, Rich, I believe in capitalism and free enterprise but not gouging. And too bad the NRA is still wheeling and dealing behind the scenes to make a win-win compromise with the totalitarians by conceding to allowing the hearing protection act legislation to to having silencers/suppressors sold as firearms complete with the attendant registration paperwork and background checks for guaranteed passage, so they can come and confiscate them anyway when there’s a need for the G to cancel out the right of the people to remove a Tyrannical regime by show of force if necessary.
For the two-faced NRA…business as usual.
