US is Number 1 in Gun Ownership, Does that make it Number one in Homicides?

Authors S.H. Blannelberry

A nice, short video that dispels some common myths about the impact gun ownership has on the intentional homicide rate.

From TruthRevoltOriginals:

The USA has, by far, the highest per capita gun ownership in the world. Progressives will tell you that this is what makes America the Murder Capitol of Planet Earth. But we’re not, and in this devastatingly effective Firewall, Bill Whittle shows why the center of Gun Nut Nation is in fact one of the safest places in the world.

We have to be careful when putting forward this type of argument to support the cause for gun ownership. Oklahoma’s favorite son Will Rogers summed it up best when he said, “There are lies, damned lies, and statistics.” I, for one, believe in the constitution. I have the ineliable right to own my firearm. The putrid, democratic left wing liberal liars will never take it from me until they kill me first.

I’m not sure why anyone would find this to be an effective argument in favor of gun ownership. Focusing on the “intentional homicide” rate purposefully marginalizes the issue. My guess is that you have a better chance surviving a gunshot in a U.S. hospital than in most of the 2nd and 3rd world countries that dominate the top 100. Instead of the homicide figures, look at the per capita number of citizens injured by firearms. Focus on the industrial world, then present your data

    TOTALLY AWESOME VIDEO!!
I am going to send this to every one I know (family and friends), and ask them to send it to all of their friends/family members. I have some anti-gun people in my own family, and I don’t know if it will do any good, BUT I HAVE TO TRY!!

Plano is a Rich White highly educated suburban area. That’s why they use it.

So does that mean there is a correlation? Hummmm.

i’m about as pro gun as one can be, but this video is extremely disingenuous. first of all, i dont think i have ever heard a liberal/anti-gun person say that the u.s. has the highest murder rate in the world. they say we have the highest, or at least one of the highest murder rates in the WESTERN, or “civilized/industrialized” world. which, as your video clearly shows is the case, with the european countries with similar standards of living to the u.s. at the very bottom of the list.
you then go on to say that certain cities account for a large percentage of these murders, but of course they do! that is true of EVERY country! why would you single out the u.s., and imply that we are the only ones with disproportionate murder rates around the country?
not only that, but you just happen to pick the one city in texas on the list that had a low murder rate, and inexplicably used that to compare to the rest of the countries murder rates. you act as if that means anything at all, yet seconds before you just pointed out how if we picked detroit’s murder rate and compared it to the world, we would have topped the list! so why should it mean anything to pick a random city like plano, and say, “well if the whole country had the same murder rate as plano…” well yea, “IF!” i understand you were also trying to add in the point that some of the cities with the higher murder rates were also democratic, but why did you pick plano, instead of the other texas cities(or any other conservative, or pro gun cities) on the list, like dallas, or austin, that also had murder rates much higher than the european countries? how is this supposed to be honest?
i consider this to be hugely indicative of a lot of pro gun people/organizations, and extremely hypocritical, as so many of us accuse the left/anti-gunners being dishonest, and not using facts, or logic, or statistics, or using misleading statistics, yet that is EXACTLY what so many pro gun people/groups turn around and do themselves! how can you possibly expect regular people, or anti gun people to take you/us serious, when you manipulate fact like this? how can you expect them to not see through this, when i am as pro gun as it gets, and i WANT these examples you gave to make sense, and be in our favor, and even I could see right through them? being dishonest is NOT helping our cause. it just makes us look more like what they already think we are: crazy, dishonest, paranoid, and unconcerned with safety and peoples lives, and only concerned with keeping our guns, regardless of the implications.

Even liberals with almost non-existent critical thinking skills should be able to understand this. Notice that US cities with the highest crime rates are predominately infested by the kind of criminals and “culture” glorified and praised in cRap videos. Not necessarily a criticism but an observation. If you “educate” the young mind to react violently and teach them that it is the best way to solve problems, and that flashing around firearms instead of properly handling them and educating yourself about them, then it’s not surprising why a certain segment of our society devalues life. The narrator says it perfectly at the end of the video.

GREAT! Statistics for all to see and hear. Common sense doesn’t always prevail regrettably. Educate is the key and this is as I said GREAT!

Take out New York, Chicago, Detroit, and New Orleans and various other Leftist hovels of urban decay and you end up with one of the safest countries on earth. /end argument

    Nice presentation! How do we dis-own the top BIG(murder) cities in US? Maybe we could move the whole damn government to Plano TX and fix the whole lot of em’ real quick ;-}

I want to thank you for putting up this video for us to spread around S.H. BLANNELBERRY.
You really cause me to wonder about you often with what I usually see you post at GUNSAMERICA.
You know what I mean, like stuff that cause fights among us, or has the liberal anti guns people commenting on.
Credit is due here concerning this video.
    Thank You.

Great video, I’m glad I saw it, but I (and most others on Guns America) already know this stuff. How do we get this on regular TV, or even a cable channel that non-gun people watch? I do my part the best I can, but I’m no millionaire. If I were, I’d get a few of my millionaire friends together and try to get a commercial like this out in the public eye. I know there are plenty of pro-gun millionaires out there(people and organizations), seems like we’d see a little more of these types of commercials in the open public. Education is key!
