Ventura wins lawsuit against Chris Kyle, awarded $1.8 million

Former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura was awarded $1.8 million on Tuesday as a result of his lawsuit against the estate of slain Navy SEAL Chris Kyle.

After hearing the arguments from both sides, a Jury believed (by at least an 8-2 margin) that Kyle defamed Ventura in his best-selling book “American Sniper,” when he accused the former pro-wrestler and fellow SEAL of saying that the U.S. special forces “deserve to lose a few” because the War on Terror in Iraq was unjust.

Kyle also claimed that he punched Ventura in the face, following the encounter. Ventura denied that the incident ever happened.

“The verdict will tell the world Chris Kyle’s story was a lie,” said Ventura attorney David Bradley Olsen.

“One-point-five million people have bought the book,” Olsen continued. “Millions more heard Fox TV trash Jesse Ventura because of it. And the story went viral on the Internet and will be there forever.”

I find it strange that Most people, including Ventura, Don’t know the difference between UDT and SEAL. Ventura was UDT not a SEAL. While it’s true that UDT was formed before the SEALs, and is recognized as being the core of SEAL training. Being a SEAL is much more than UDT, at least in my view. Most of the early BUDS trainers were former UDT members. I have great respect for members of both but please don’t call Ventura a SEAL, he was UDT.
In my humble opinion there has been entirely too much Publicity about SEAL operations and personnel. I liked it better when no one knew what a SEAL was in the late 60’s and Early 70’s. It is going to cost some guy his life some day and jeopardize a mission, because someone can’t keep their mouths shut or write book about their past exploits. You owe it to the those coming up behind you in the ranks to keep quiet about operations, methods, weapons, training.

Who the fuck allowed this ridiculous law suit to be happened? Now I encourage the family of all soldiers that were sent to Iraq to sue the dickhead Ventura for his comment regarding the US Forces too. They spent bloods and life for America, and wtf that the dickhead Ventura did for America?

Chris Kyle is a Legend. Jesse Ventura is a sad excuse of an operator. He didn’t serve with the respect and honor that Chris Kyle had, that, you can see by his actions. Defaming and holding on to the coat tails of a greater warrior whom is no longer with us. If a blue falcon he was, now he’s a brown falcon. That @$$hat Ventura has crap on his face now. Who goes after the widow of an operator, that was an operator themselves but Hollywood Californian doosher who keeps a Baggie by his own rear just so he can smell it later. Disrespectful, and dishonored himself now. It’s a shame a wounded warrior was the reason Chris Kyle was taken from us. Sad story there too. Now widow is probably getting Ventura water boarded on a cia black ops site somewhere in the Hollywood hills. I know I would volunteer my time to tune the fella up some. Hiding behind lawyers and paperwork when it was the actions of men was the real story.

…I like how this guy says that Ventura was “disrespectful” to Kyle But in the PREVIOUS SENTENCE says that Ventura “holds a baggie by his own rear so that he can smell it later”. Now that there sounds VERY respectful, right Bang Bang ??

I respect both of these men. They have accomplished things most men don’t even dream of. There are two sides to every story. Obviously the jury decided in Ventura’s favor. I doubt any of us making comments here were on that jury. Both of these men deserve respect and they will always get it from me. HOO YA a$$holes!!!

I’m with you Max. Nobody here was on that jury and nobody here has all the facts. If you believe in due process, then the matter is settled. It was heard by a jury of their peers and they found in favor of Ventura, case closed (until appeal). That’s the same American democratic process every single person who served was protecting. Frogman, UDT, SEAL status not withstanding nor relevant to the issue at hand. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I can’t help but wonder how many of the “opinionated” in here avoid jury duty whenever possible.

I nominate Ventura for life-long tenure as the King of Douchebagistan. Piss poor excuse for an Operator from any branch… f#cking over the widow of a Brother… new low, even for a douche.

Stop calling Ventura a SEAL. He was never a SEAL, he was a Frogman. BIG difference. Being a Frogman is still an accomplishment but he is not SEAL material. Every SEAL is capable of becoming what was a Frogman, not every Frogman could become a SEAL. Ventura would never cut muster to become a SEAL.

I used to have a lot of respect for Jesse Ventura.
Picking on a widow of a fellow soldier, when it it sounds like he is a sensitive effeminate gender bender, looking for his California share of media moments, degrades him in my opinion.

What a friggin’ twit. Know from whence you speak… there were administrative errors on his DD-214… they corrected and took, and they corrected and added. Anyone who ever actually served knows how this shit works. Now sit back and let the grown-ups talk.

Dude, I’ve read your reply twice and I still can’t understand what you’re trying to convey. Please don’t use text-eze in this forum if you expect to be taken seriously.
