Employees of a Ferguson convenience store who were looted last year during protests took steps to make sure it didn’t happen again.

What appears to be cellphone footage shows store owners and employees toting shotguns and handguns tucked in the back of their pants. It may seem like a bit much at first, but as the camera pans to mob waiting outside it quickly becomes clear that the weapons are necessary.

Protests were held on West Florrisant Ave. and one point, shots rang out in the crowd. The throngs ran towards the market but thought twice after seeing the heavily armed men guarding the front entrance.

Several protestors were arrested throughout the day and several days ago a police officer exchanged gunfire with an armed protestor.
