Watch this World Record-Setting Display: 13 Clays in 1.6 Seconds

Authors Competition S.H. Blannelberry

It’s not how fast you shoot, but how well you shoot fast. Right? Something like that.

In either case, you don’t get much faster or better than Raniero Testa from Team Winchester who earlier this month set a new world record shooting 13 clay targets in 1.6 seconds all before they hit the ground.

Testa accomplished the task with the Winchester SX4, which is advertised as “an autoloading shotgun designed for speed.”  No kidding.

Depending on the model (standard, waterfowl, field, field compact) the price for an SX4 is in the neighborhood of around $750-$900 on GunsAmerica.   We have yet to get one in for review but when we do I’ll be anxious to see how it stacks up against some of the other popular semiauto scatterguns on the market.

Congrats to Testa!  That was super impressive.

Right before the slow mo you can see 1 inch shells by his feet, was he using 1 inch?

Full-Auto shotguns are not that fast, I want to know about his gun, that was super fast shooting, how did that gun do it???

He didn’t break 13 clay’s separately! He’s not that good of a shot. He broke two or more clay’s in a single shot. That’s no record, come on now guys let’s get real. If I remember correctly Tom Knapp shot 10 targets before they hit the ground, but he shot each one independently. Now that’s a record. This guy didn’t break that record from the way it looked. Now Winchester, let’s get real and make that guy shoot 13 targets independently. Was the gun capable of holding 13 shots? I don’t think so. Maybe if he was shooting 1″ shells. but it looked like he was shooting Noble Sport ammo. What not Winchester? I think we need a Senate committee needs to investigate this, and maybe the FBI.

I noticed that of the several shotguns lying on the table only one had the bolt opened to show that the firearm was unloaded. The others did not and actually were somewhat pointed toward the person standing in front of the window.. Hardly a safe handling of firearms, Winchester…

      Lighten up Francis.

Does the gun have an auto sear?

While impressive he didn’t do it in 1.6 seconds. Somebody doesn’t know how to run a stop watch

I counted 6 or 7 shots. Which means that he shot multiple stacked clays with each shot. NOT 13 clays with 13 individual shots. Tom Knapp ( God rest his soul) would shoot each clay individually. That was a true record of accomplishment.

He did do 12-13 shots. Watch the slowed down replay toward the end of the video. We had 7 people at work count the shots fired, and everybody counted 12-13 shots.
