Our family took their 2nd Amendment rights for granted. Growing up in the 1960’s everyone was on board with the right to bear arms, Democrats and Republicans, alike. Many of the adult male population had served in the U.S. Military in WWII, the Korean War, or the Vietnam War, and they knew the value of a good semi-auto rifle (the M1 Garand, and M16) in the defense of our Nation, and home. They had heard and believed in the statement by Fleet Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, “You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.” (now, believed to be a misquote).

My Father’s relatives were simple mountain folks. They could light a kitchen match, stood on end atop a fence post at 20 paces, with an iron sighted .22 rifle. The right to bear arms was just a given. It wasn’t until the attacks on our 2A Rights in the 1980’s and 90’s, that I awoke and realized I needed to join the cause and fight to protect our God given freedoms. I found the NRA was a great place to stand and fight with other like-minded folks to help re-establish those freedoms.

I don’t want to piss anyone off, but here’s the thing. You are either a Patriot, or a Tory in the issue of the 2A, and our disappearing American Freedoms. You are either a Freedom Fighter, or a parasitic leech, if you believe in the Right to Bear Arms, but are doing nothing to fight for it in these times when our rights are being extremely diminished. If not the NRA (you have some objection to them) there are other great organizations fighting for our Freedoms. See list here:

First They Came For The Jews

In Germany they first came for the Communist
    And I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews
    And I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Jew.
Then they came for the trade unionist
    And I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Catholics
    And I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Catholic.
    Then they came for me
And by that time no one was left to speak up.

    – Lutheran Pastor, Martin Neimoller, who was imprisoned in Sachsenhausen and Dachau, 1937-1945.

    Speak up! Join the NRA:

Please! if you have not joined the NRA, please do so. It is a great organization that is on the front lines of fighting for our 2nd Amendment Rights. Less than the cost of a cigar, or cup of coffee a day. The scope of the NRA is very broad. They do safety, training, legislative action, inform the public on firearms issue. With your membership you get a choice of three great monthly magazines. You can sign up to receive NRA-ILA newsletters that will keep you informed about infringements of our 2A rights, and legislative actions taken to uphold those rights. We must band together to protect our freedom. United We Stand, Divided We Fall. The NRA is a great place to stand together and fight for our disappearing freedoms. Please join today. It is never too late.

Bloomberg, Hillary, Soros, and their scumbag organizations will be taking the fight to strip you of your right to bear arms to the state level, where it is easier to pass unconstitutional laws. I strongly urge you to join your state’s pro-firearms organization. They are on the front lines of the fight for 2A in your state. Here is a list:

My state Rifle Assoc. is a bastion of free-thinking, freedom loving individuals, in a sea of subservient voting, “the govt will take care of me,” welfare zombies. The cost of joining these organizations is cheap compared to benefits received.

Just joined this year. I did it because I wanted to support my gun rights without having to vote for Trump.

    • DRAINO September 1, 2016, 12:42 pm

Sorry to break it to you, Dude, but if You and every other pro-gun, pro-America citizen in this country don’t get out and vote for Trump…..you will have no gun-rights….or any other rights soon following. So suck it up, Buttercup!!! And go Vote for your rights….Vote TRUMP.

      • Sean September 1, 2016, 5:00 pm

And sorry to break it to you but that’s not how anything works. Unless you’re in a swing state, your vote really doesn’t matter. Me, I’d rather use my vote to encourage the Right to put up a guy who never supported the Assault Weapons Ban next time around than waste it voting for an idiot.

        • DRAINO September 2, 2016, 12:34 pm

Your right….with that kind of attitude, stay home. YOUR vote DOESN’T matter. Morons who think the way you do shouldn’t be allowed to vote anyway. And what I said is true…..wait and see…if Hildabeast gets it….It will happen(Loss of MOST/ALL of our rights) and it WILL be the fault of all you ‘never-Trumper’ dipsticks. So take pride in that…own the destruction of our great nation. It’s all you. Sleep warm, Pumpkin.

I get it, voting for Trump is like ordering a crap sandwich. The problem is that not voting for Trump is like ordering a crap sandwich infected with cholera. With those being the only two choices, I’ll avoid the cholera.
