Will Bloomberg Run for President in 2016?

Bloomberg: 2016? Is it really possible? Will he run?

Well, this week, the former New York City mayor told the Financial Times that he was “looking at all the options,” with respect to throwing his hat into the ring.

The gun-control czar also lamented the current state of affairs with respect to the 2016 presidential race.

“I find the level of discourse and discussion distressingly banal and an outrage and an insult to the voters,” said Bloomberg, adding that the public deserved “a lot better.”

With a personal fortune in excess of $39 billion, there’s no doubt that Bloomberg has the money to self-finance a competitive bid. Is he serious, though? Bloomberg has flirted with the idea of running for president in the past, but nothing came of it.

This time, however, things could be different.

According to a report in the New York Times last month, Bloomberg told his advisers to draft a campaign plan with him running as an independent.

While that plan has yet to see the light of day, it easy to predict which voters Bloomberg would target as a candidate for president: fiscally conservative, socially liberal voters who want to rein in government spending and push the progressive agenda.

Part of that progressive agenda, of course, is to disarm America. I think that’s where this billionaire business magnate will run into trouble.  With 100,000 million gun owners in this country, it’s hard to believe that they’d get behind a rabid, anti-gunner.  Then again, they elected and re-elected Obama.

At the end of the day, it’ll be a game of wait and see.  If Bloomberg continues to be displeased by what he’s seeing on the campaign trail, mainly, outsiders taking over, e.g. Hillary getting her butt kicked by Sanders, Trump dominating the GOP, he may jump in. But if establishment candidates (Hillary, Rubio) from both parties end up getting the nom, then he’ll probably sit this one out.  I guess that’s how I see it playing out.  What are your thoughts?

Bloomberg is a fortunate person who is very un-deserving of his positions in life where he has been and remains an absolute bully.

This little billionaire fruitcake is a gun grabbing megalomaniac &, as such, must not ever be allowed anywhere near the White House, even to visit.

This is one sick puppy. Perhaps the most hated man in America. He would cause a Civil War, immediately trying to disarm the entire Country. This alone would start such conflict, that our enemies would see a prime opportunity to take us down.
Aside from his Pompous attitude and ideals that he is better smarter and knows what is best for everyone, we would become a third world country. He was hated as Mayor on YC, and now he wants to expand his Horizons to the rest of the Country.
Classic Napoleonic complex. We need a leader not a dictator. We need smaller Federal Govt. not more intrusive Government that wants to be involved in everything from what you eat and drink to the shows you watch on TV.
I don’t understand how someone who is in the information business could possibly misread the will of the American Voter.
He has at his disposal thousands of researchers to report on the all and likelihood of him winning a general election is zero, and unless he is miss reading what they are telling him, this is a big mistake on his part. He would need an army to protect him from his own people after a few months in office putting executive orders in place “that would never pass the Senate floor”. Really a huge mistake on his part. The Country is saying , no more career politicians” and he pops up with this?
Mike, forget it, Go start your own Country Bloomville, someware else, not here. We don’t want need or even like you.

That pencil necked Jew must have been asleep in his history class. That’s what The Furer did in Germany took away gun’s from the Jews. We see how well that worked out.

“I want Bloomberg to run for president” – said no sane person ever.

Bloomberg would be the destruction of the Democratic party, and as such I think he would be a valuable tool. he would clearly siphon off voters from the Democratic machine with his Banal Common sense mindset, and would expose the “Nanny” behavior that he wants to enact on the people of this country. I see him as the Ross Perot of the Democratic party. His desire to criminalize ordinary behavior (The Big Gulp Fines) would clearly run into opposition within the party by some people and as such they would vote against him in disgust. Let it happen.

I hope he does run, which will take away Democrats from Bernie or Hillary, then we’ll be assured a Republican victory.

Oh hell NO! As if Hitlery wasn’t bad enough now we get this nazi trying to do to the country what he did for New York. Anybody remember the movie Escape from L.A.? Where the government dictates what you can and can’t do. If Bloomberg gets in say goodbye to the Bill of Rights. I mean what did that Big Gulp ever do to him? LEAVE OUR RIGHTS ALONE!!!!!

HA I do remember Escape From LA, one eyed Snake Bliskin. If LA isn’t careful this movie will be a reality and add Escape from New York in there too.
