Date Code on the pre-1968 Beretta 950B is XIV, the year 1958. This pistol illustrates the difference between the Beretta 950B and 950BS. The 950B, this one, has no manually operated safety. If a person doesn’t want to shoot it, don’t cock the hammer. That is easily enough accomplished on this distinctive tip-up barrel pistol anyway. Our interest is not in shooting it anyway, this is an eminently collectable pistol and its date code even renders it Curio & Relic eligible for C&R licensees. Note that there are some initials scribed on the floorplate of the magazine; besides that, its only detractions are very slight edge wear, and we consider that it has 90 percent or more of its original finish remaining, entitling it to Excellent status; photos, however, should suffice for interested parties to judge finish grade for themselves.
