This NIB 45 LC and is number 1164 of the 1500 produced in 1974, per Colt. This comes with the Walnut Drawer Presentation Case, the letter from Colt and a Copy of the Colt Commemoratives List by Colt. These guns were suppose to be issued in 1973 but due to Colt’s delays in getting the exact copy of the first SAA produced in 1873, and issued to the Army they were not manufactured until 1974. This is the finest 2nd generation Colt SAA made. The 1972 suggested retail price was $300.00 while a Colt SAA 2nd generation suggested retail was $125.00, and by the time they were produced the Retail price was $400.00. This is the only 2nd generation Colt SAA that has a Case Hardened Hammer like the original.
