Most of us have noticed the change in Remington magazines for their Woodsmaster type rifles. The new Ones have polymer on them, perhaps an improvement; perhaps not. Here is a collection of old stock, but never used, magazines to fit Remington models 742, 760, 7400, 7600, Four, Six, and 750 chambered in the longer action 760 or 742 series Remingtons chambered in .270, .280, .30-06, or .35 Whelen. These came from a gun dealer’s estate in Texas where they have been sitting idly for at least ten years. Some of them show faint inconspicuous freckling in their blue steel finish, but only minimal insertion or ejection whitening, and no whitening on their blue steel cartridge followers. Capacity is 4 rounds of any of the above mentioned calibers. Construction is blue steel, and note that these do not have a bolt release on their sides like the factory magazines for the semi-autos do. They work just fine in any 742 7400 series rifle so long as the caliber matches; only they won’t lock the bolt open after the last shot. These magazines Will Not accept, and Will Not Work in, rifles and ammunition in 6mm Remington, .243 Winchester, 7mm-08 Remington, .284 Winchester, or even the venerable .308 Winchester calibers. These are all 1980s and 1990s production factory Remington Magazines, Product code 26371. They are only marked .280 Rem / 7mm Exp Rem, so they are collectable if any of our shoppers are so lucky as to have one of the 742 or 760 rifles chambered in .280 Remington also known as 7mm Express.
