It may seem that a lot of guns are full of innovation. They really aren’t. We jabber about them and pretend that they are exciting, but at the end of the day, it’s more of the same old stuff. I love the new details and features as much as the next guy, but this guy Brian has introduced some innovation that nobody else out there is even working on. In this video you’ll find a reloading system for all of the .22 rimfires. There is also a DIY percussion cap maker, and a system to reprime Berdan with standard boxer primers. Some of these products are already in house for individual review, but I’ll cover the basics here.
Reloading Rimfire
As Brian explains in the video, over a century ago it was commonplace to reload rimfire cartridges. The original Henry Rifle, predecessor to the Winchester level guns, was .44 Henry, and a rimfire that was reloaded. Gallery rifle in .22 rimfire were reloaded up through the early 20th century. We don’t reload rimfire now because it became cheap and available.
That all changed in December of 2012 after the Sandy Hook hoax. Rimfire disappeared from the shelves, in many cases never to return. I shop at a Walmart in Florida that has a large firearm and ammo presence, but to this day it has never gotten back in any rimfire. There are some shops that now have rimfire here, but the prices are nowhere close to what they were before the shortage. I was at a range in Tampa a few weeks ago and they were still getting $75 for a box of 500 regular old Remington .22LR.
So for those of you in the places in the US that have plenty of rimfire, stock up on it, because they are only sending it to places where the locals don’t wipe it out.
And for the rest of us, it is time to get fluent and get some experience in how to reload rimfire. The biggest hurdle is in casting your own bullets, but as I’ll show you when I do the review for my Prepping 101 column, even that isn’t rocket science.
Make Your Own Percussion Caps
Many years ago I wrote an article called “A Handgun When You Can’t Buy a Handgun.” It was about percussion revolvers from the 1850s-1870s. Another angle on those guns would be “A Handgun After They Take All The Modern Handguns Away.” You can store a lot of powder, balls, and caps in a very small space for very little money, and in most states, there is no record at all that you ever bought a handgun.
Caps have gotten somewhat expensive, and it’s funny that I’m seeing this now because this past hunting season I grabbed several hundred more caps at Walmart just to put away.
Brian’s system uses the same 4 powders that he uses for the .22 reloader, and you make the caps out of soda or beer cans. If you are a prepper, or you just own percussion firearms, this thing is a no-brainer.
Berdan Primers
I’m not going to get too deep into this, because in the review we can get into the different sizes of Berdan primers, but suffice it to say, Berdan brass is a genuine waste, and a pain. I have a bunch of Swish brass for my K31s that I refuse to throw away, and I am eager to try this system, to see how the larger 3rd hole effects ignition, velocity, dirtiness, etc. There are other methods for Berdan ammo, but none of them allow you to use standard boxer primers once you get the old primer out, nor do they allow you to use a standard decapper on subsequent loadings. This will be an interesting product. These are not yet available on the website, but feel free to use the contact box for a potential purchase date.
I have tried the 22 reloader for the past year. I had almost no success, maybe one fired in 50. The problem is with the priming compound. I bought their compound and I also tried the match head priming they recommend. I tried varying the drying times for the acetone and alcohol. I called their phone multiple times, get only a message and they don’t return a call. Ron

Has ANYONE here actually TRIED this .22LR reloading system? I went to their website (http://22lrreloader.com/) but there was a complete lack of usable information. Worse yet, they DON’T EVEN HAVE an e-mail/contact address! All I wanted was a digital copy of their so-called ‘instructions’ to convince myself this might be a useful tool to have/keep in my ‘just in case’ tool box. But there is no way to get this information UNLESS you BUY THE ENTIRE SYSTEM.
One big question I have – how does one remove the previous firing pin strike out of the spent shell casings? No mention of it anywhere.
I say to those guys – FEA. At least until they give us lots more information – AND – till they LOWER THE PRICE. Seventy five bucks ($75) sounds WAAAAAY TOO MUCH for what few tools & chemicals are provided.
Brian sent me a set before SHOT but I couldn’t get to it in time. Probably soon. Hey if you can’t afford it you can’t afford it. I saw some red tray winchester 22 at a miami walmart the other day for just over 6 bucks. So buy it while you can.

Did anyone else hear it when this shooting took place, the news had said the ar15 was found in the trunk of the car? Yet Obama and his anti black rifle advocates are saying an ar15 was used! I know I heard it reported as being in the car trunk and not used! Which makes Obama a lier which we all ready know he is! Wish I had recorded it for proof when it came out.
I remember seeing a report where a news helicopter flew over the car while it was in the parking lot and it showed them taking it out of the trunk of the car. One of those things that make you go hmmmm

Seems easy enough to verify. Aren’t birth and death certificates public record in Connecticut?
Wouldn’t it be easy enough to find any of the 26 allegedly dead peaople still alive? Or did all the parents agree to have their children swept away forever to a secret government complex? Or did they never exist in the first place?
If this was a hoax, wouldn’t the NRA, the gun industry, and every investigative reporter in the country (regardless of political bias) do everything in their power to uncover the hoax? Would there not be an army of P.I.s looking into it? Would there not be leak from any one of the thousands of people that would have to be involved to pull off such a hoax?

The dead people for the most part didn’t exist. They take old photos of kids so nobody will recognize them. The principle Dawn Hochsprung actress has indeed turned up at other hoaxes.

I have no problem getting 22 rimfire online. Even though sportsman’s guide claimed that CCI wasn’t making Stinger 22s any more that turned out to be false. Do a little searching and you can find all the rimfire ammo you would ever want and at reasonable prices too.
I’m finding a plenty of 22 LR also but it’s $6 and up for a box of 50. The price is staggering. We’re being raped here folks…and not a darned thing we can do other than stop shooting and buying 22LR.
I have no problem finding 22 Lr for $.06 a round all day long. You just have to know where it look. I will only pay over that price but no more than $.08 a round if it is CCI mini mag or stinger. Florida has 22 you just need to know where to look.
I’m all for guns, but this “Sandy Hook was a hoax” stuff is absurd and dangerous. I can’t say the incident changed how I feel about guns (love em), but it sure changed how I feel about at least part of gun culture. Just because you follow self-affirming conspiracy theories doesn’t make you thoughtful, literate, or any less like “sheeple”. If anything, folks who get into their tiny Infowars/Breitbart/RT news world are even worse than somebody who strap in and watch MSNBS, FOX, and CNN. The first question I ask them is “Why did they tear this school down, and did it extremely fast?” There is only one reason, to destroy the evidence so that further investigations could NOT uncover the fraud involved. Secondly, Why is it that some these “parents” have mysteriously appeared in other crises’. And lastly, with all of the “immediate” coverage by both leftist and conservative journalists, why are there NO photos (NOT ONE) of any of the dead being removed from the school, NOT ONE PHOTO of dead or injured, including the shooter. PT Barnum was dead on when he said “There’s a sucker born every minute”.

Sandy Hook was pushed as real, even the school was a closed down unit, security cameras had been removed etc… there is far more proof of a Hoax than anything real. If not, I want to see the pictures of all the autopsies and evidence of each and everyone which is suppose to be chronicled as evidence, there are none to see, not even with or under the freedom of information act, even some of those so called deceased kids show up in school pictures around the USA!
