The 9mm Canik SFx Rival

At SHOT Show 2022, Canik displayed its newest 9mm pistol, the SFx Rival. Meeting current IDPA, IPSC, and USPSA specifications, the SFx RIVAL is built to compete at a price that won’t break the bank.

For the money, Canik has a reputation for being very competitive, and the addition of the SFx Rival to the lineup is just furthering that point. Coming from the factory with basically all the features most Glock guys pay extra for, this new 9mm is going to be tough to pass on.

Listed below are some of the features that define what the Canik SFx Rival is:

Features:

  • Easy disassembly Assembly full-size fiber-reinforced polymer frame
  • Fiber Optic Front Sight
  • Adjustable Rear Sight
  • Striker Status Indicator
  • Low Profile, Easy to Disassemble Slide Stop Lever
  • Holster ‘Fit and Lock’ (HLF)
  • Self-Flared Magwell Frame
  • +0 Base Plate
  • Side Changeable and Length Adjustable Magazine Catch with 3 sizes (S-M-L)
  • Ambidextrous Slide Stop Lever
  • MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny Rail
  • Mag-Well Ready Interchangeable Backstrap(3 sizes)
  • Lightened 90° Diamond Cut Aluminum Flat Trigger
  • Competition Type Magwell

The flat-faced trigger is awesome. The takeup is smooth, the break is clean, and the reset is short.

Consumers can choose between the gold-accented Gray SFx Rival or the all-black configuration called the SFx Rival Dark Side. The Dark Side comes with one extra optic plate, but other than that the only difference between the two models is the external accents.

Including all of the trendy lightening cuts, serrations, and an optic cut, the slide for the Rival is impressive. It also utilizes a nice red fiber optic front sight, with an anti-glare adjustable rear sight.

In addition to the flared lower, there is a magwell extension to help you achieve lightning-fast reloads. It may be removed to avoid printing while carrying concealed.  Coming standard with two 18-round magazines, reloads won’t be needed too often.

Iv been trying to buy a canik TP9SFX whiteout for a long time but can’t find it anywhere. So I guess I’ll look into this new one. But if you can help out in finding a whiteout that would be great. Thank you.

    Enough is enough, CANIK…
I sold my TP9 SA and TP9 DA for my TP9 SFX Tungsten.
I sold my TP9 SFX Tungsten for my TP9 SFX Mete.
    I’m not selling my TP9 SFX Mete…
    Keep your SFX Rival!

I love the Caniks. I’m especially interested in the adjustable rear sight on the Rival. I’d love to put that sight on my older SFx.
