A Warning to All Gun Bloggers and Forums – Boston Marathon Explosions

Authors Paul Helinski

Dear Friends,

Please be aware that there are what we call “Bloomberg shills” lurking in the comments of gun blogs and forums at present. It has been going on since before the election, and we first noticed it as far back as our January 8th, 2012 article “2nd Amendment Voters Should Vote Ron Paul.” At first it seemed like fun because they got a lively discussion going, and many of our articles have over 400 comments just because of a few anti-gun comments peppered in by a shill here and there. But as more and more of them have come in, we have begun to realize that it is better to delete them. The anti-gunners have a plan, and that plan is to make gun people look stupid, heartless, and separate from the values of mainstream America. A recent “whistleblower” post about the Boston Marathon explosions is especially troubling. If you are part of a gun blog or forum, please don’t allow this post to spread, and beware that more attempts to make 2nd Amendment defenders look bad are coming.

As most of us have come to understand, this crisis has gone far beyond politics. We have seen an unprecedented and sustained attack on not just our guns, but the entire pro-2nd Amendment and avid shooter culture itself. We are being sold to the public as stupid and selfish people who don’t care about the safety of children. I got a forwarded Facebook post from an 86 year old family friend and staunch Libertarian yesterday that said “The NRA Doesn’t Represent Me.” If only he knew what a fool he is being played for, but if you read through the lines, it is pretty clear that Bloomberg’s media campaign is working. The medicated masses are buying the story, because it is being presented in social media environment where people have already let their guards down.

For that reason, we have ceased to allow any anti-gun comments on our articles. This was a difficult decision, but we only did so after calling out several of the commenters and directly accusing them of being hired Bloomberg shills. None of them defended themselves, and we believe that this is exactly what they are. The anti-gunners aren’t just buying TV ads. They are hiring what are probably unemployed young people in New York City to fish around in pro-2nd Amendment social media to plant seeds of division, trying to hook the emotions of the vulnerable and anti-depressant medicated.

A common theme among the shills is to make us look stupid and ruthless in the furtherment of our cause. We think that they threw some bait into the water yesterday that could make gun people look very bad. It is a “whistleblower” post about the explosions at the Boston Marathon, warning that it is some kind of false flag to ban the private sale of gun powder. I believe this “warning” is meant to be re-posted on gun blogs and boards, and on a quick Google search, I see that it has already hit the FAL Files and a few survival boards. We am not going to include the post in this email because there is no benefit in spreading it, but it begins “I work on a security commission and I’ve just received word to start on a campaign we’ve been working on for the last two months and now it all makes sense.”

The “warning” then goes on to say that that explosions were a pre-planned event meant to result in the banning of the private sale of gun powder, and that a young person is to be arrested Friday with NRA magazines in his possession. The creators of this farce are hoping Alex Jones and all of the conspiracy websites pick it up, and some of them already have. We believe that this is a Bloomberg shill to make us look stupid, and ruthless, that we would co-opt a tragedy to further our cause. Obama’s people have indeed already tried to tie the explosions to “Tax Day” in the hopes of making right wingers look like terrorists, but as we have explained before, Alex Jones is a turd in the punchbowl of 2nd Amendment freedom. You don’t have to have any “theory” about the conspiracy to take away our 2nd Amendment rights. American “gun control” was born in the aftermath of slavery, to keep guns out of the hands of freed slaves. Today it continues. The anti-gunners are using the deaths of 20 white kids to keep the guns out of the hands of their racial minority voting “slaves” in the inner cities.

It could very well be that consumer black powder, not smokeless powder, was used to make those bombs. Upon seeing the billowing white clouds of smoke from the explosions, anyone who has ever shot black powder should probably have suspected that this was the explosive used. Bomb detecting equipment, and most likely the dogs as well, are not trained to detect black powder. I know this because I freaked out one day when I had to go through a airport sniffer after shooting BP. I hadn’t even washed my hands and realized it only when I was far too deep into the line. But the sniffer didn’t even hiccup. We have all heard the reports that the police were doing bomb dog drills before the explosions, and it could very well be that one dog thought he smelled something early in the day so they brought in more dogs, who unfortunately weren’t trained to sniff BP.

Somebody grabbed the obvious possibility that black powder was involved and turned it into this fake “whistleblower” post about the more generic term “gun powder.” Apparently U.S. Rep. Mike McCaul, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, said “most likely gun powder” was used in the devices. The “Lone Wolf” language of that article does make it sound like they will pin this on a “right wing terrorist,” but what makes this “whistleblower” warning so suspect as a shill is that they do not specify black powder. As many of you know, modern smokeless powder, the kind you find in normal ammunition, does not explode when ignited. It burns, and it is of course also fairly “smokeless.” Billowing clouds of white smoke like the ones we saw in Boston only come from black powder, and it is a lot easier to get than C4, and you don’t have to make it like the concoctions they speak about in the bomb making books. Granted, McCaul did specifically say “gun powder,” but it is just too convenient that this post showed up yesterday, at the same time the talking point was implanted into the discussion. The post is almost definitely fake, and planted by people trying to make us look bad.

It is your choice how you treat and respond to anti-gun comments in a pro-2nd Amendment environment here on the internet. Please just be aware that these Bloomberg shills are lurking in your comments and on your boards, and that this is most likely only one of what will be many attempts to make 2nd Amendment defenders appear to have different ideals than mainstream America. We are mainstream America, and after the Heller and McDonald Supreme Court decisions, we were on our way to giving the opportunities of “mainstream” to all Americans. Arm the permanent victims in our inner cities and we will give them back not just 2nd Amendment freedom, but all of the other freedoms they are robbed of by living under the umbrella of a permanent criminal narco-economy. The Wild West didn’t have the violent crime rates of Chicago and Washington DC, because in the Wild West, the good guys could shoot back.

seriously excellent points right here, just thank you

  • posebna ponudba January 29, 2014, 3:14 am

You have made some decent points there. I looked on the net for
more info about the issue and found most people will go along
with your views on this website.

  • heart disease and May 15, 2013, 6:32 pm

Having read this I thought it was extremely informative.
I appreciate you finding the time and energy to put this
article together. I once again find myself personally spending way
too much time both reading and posting comments. But so what, it was still worthwhile!

  • Joe May 7, 2013, 9:10 am

I am in trouble here …. I depend on my 22qt. pressure cooker/canner to store my garden products for winter. Must I face ‘no green beans’ as a nod to security?
I thought that we should have looked into Propane gas cylinders after “Columbine’ and maybe take signatures from plumbers and other pipe purchasers too! ( Those perps were planning to BLOW UP THE SCHOOL)
Isn’t this all just getting to be such a PILE OF POOP?! All so thew politicos can make a speech and have a “feel good” experience. We ALL know that the law is just words on paper if you have no intrinsic desire to be lawful.

I came on this site looking for firearms, and stumbled on this post. I didn’t have to read to far to reach my conclusion, but I read the whole main post for good measure. I don’t know who “administrator” is but his/her writing is definitely not that of a patriot or anyone who loves freedom and relies on the Bill of Rights to protect the people against a government that is bigger and more powerful than ever. The post is too well crafted, and makes what I call a “double-reverse flip” argument that leaves everyone’s head spinning.

First, it may be true that there are Bloomberg lurkers on the forum, and for me, it is a given that there are people on every forum who are spying on those who makes posts. Everyone has known that, for a long time, and if you think otherwise, think again. The law enforcement agencies, “concerned citizen groups” by whatever name, and anyone else who wants to spy on an interest group need only go to their forums to find out what is going on. Remember that when you write posts. I think you do, and I think that’s why I see the light-hearted follow up comments about the pressure cookers. Like a friend of mine said “first our guns, now our pressure cookers.”

Second, since everyone does or should know that every forum is full of spies, and even if we don’t, shutting down the free speech of those with opposing views in a public forum is censorship and nothing more. If any of us want to be able to speak freely, don’t count on an internet site like this as the place where you can do it. Form your own private group of trusted friends where you can speak your mind. Send private emails, or even encrypted emails (easy and free) if you feel you speech rights chilled by the spying of our government. Sites like this are good for passing information rapidly, like what is happening with the gun bills, or what is coming with the new ones. (I am writing this at the end of April 2013. Watch out and put your elected officials on speed dial, I mean it.)

Third, the unabashed criticism of Alex Jones and the “other conspiracy theorists” wreaks of the liberal party line against Alex and anyone else who doesn’t agree with the brainwashing that goes on in network media and the communist non-traditional internet outlets (Slate and Media Matters for example). Alex Jones is over-the-top, yes, and gets angry and wound up, but he digs, and digs and digs in his research, and is not always polished in his deliver, but he loves this country, and if even 10 % of what he reports is true, we’re all in really deep doo-doo. Only the communists, socialists, progressives and liberals will try to tell you who you should and shouldn’t listen to. This is the dead give away that the actual lurker and Bloomberg lover on this forum on this is Administrator.

Fourth, administrator is preaching to us like the liberal elites do. He/she is smarter than us and the rest of us are either uneducated or unenlightened or both. Administrator is acting like Bloomberg, but the reverse double flip is first to write here as if he/she is on our side, then to say that we have to watch out for Bloomberg lurkers, that he/she had to ban his perceived lurkers (which is intended to make us say “way to go administrator, you’re really on our side), and then to criticize the real truth seekers like Alex Jones, when the truth is that the administrator is the Bloomberg lurker. None of us should shut out any point of view. I actually listen to MSNBC when I have the stomach for it, which I admit is not every day. I guess that makes me a lurker in a really public forum, cable TV.

Fifth, Administrator if you’re going to write and profess to tell all of us what we should believe, and who we should listen to, at least have the guts to logon with a regular made-up name and register a throw-away email address like the minimum that the rest of us had to do. What is YOUR name? If you can be the censor, and tell us who we shouldn’t listen to, what are your qualifications? Why tell us what to do? Don’t be a shill for the socialists, totalitarians. Listen to Alex Jones and the others for a month, every day, sort out the 10% that may be correct, do research on the veracity of the guests he brings on. The are true good people. I don’t know who you are, but I have a very bad impression of this forum after reading your post. Of course, you can delete my comments if you want so no one will ever see them. But I can tell that you are not real, you are not a patriot, and you are trying to preach to and manipulate the good freedom loving people on this site who fear for their second amendment rights, and the welfare of our country.

    Ben

Gentlemen: This issue really isn’t safety, whether it involves guns or anything else. Issue is much deeper. Listen to what Mr. J. Edgar Hoover had to say:
“The individual is handicapped by coming face-to-face with a conspiracy so monstrous he cannot believe it exists.”
Former FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover.

On any road one takes, it is never completely smooth, especially if you’ve traveled outside the US. There are many bumps and obstacles. Firearms just happens to be a rather big bump for what is coming on the road to the new Dark Ages. Many have worked to facilitate that road by smoothing it out, Mr. Bloomberg, Coumo, Obummer, Feinstein and remaining company just happen to be well paid road workers doing their duty facilitating a smoother road for what is now about to happen to the United States of America. If you try to understand this under the norm of reason, one is at a loss, unless one understands the AGENDA. And its massive, and Liberty isn’t is on the play list.

Regards from an old old man who has seen most of the script.
I am sad for many of you young people and not so young because most of you will not live long in the planned environment descending on this country.

  • Pontus April 23, 2013, 4:17 pm

As the leftist witch, Feinstein said about pressure cookers recently, “Mr. & Mrs. Amerika, turn them all in, no one needs to have one of these”….only mooslim choir boys.

  • Joyce E April 22, 2013, 8:21 pm

May I share this with BuckeyeFirearms.org?

    • Administrator April 22, 2013, 8:33 pm

Sure no problem that is what it is for.

  • Matt April 22, 2013, 5:59 pm

Who ever called it a pressure cooker?had it wrong!! What makes a firecracker loud is tight wrapped paper. What makes a m-80 louder is a cardboard wrapper with sealed ends! a bad gun cartridge don’t make much noise.toy caps don’t make much sound if not in a toy? Are they still legal? When they blow up a building! For demolition not a lot of noise? Other than the weight of the building falling down! How do they make a sky rocket make so much noise.cardboard!cant have metal raining down on us? Now if you like fried chicken? They use pressure fryers! That scares me a bit.also a tire can make a lot of noise as its also a pressure cooker? I enjoy every one posts to this topic. Some good and some bad? Thank guns America for spending time and $ on this!

  • Matt April 22, 2013, 5:29 pm

What I see out of all this is a positive reinforcement to keep paying for post 9/11 security.with out any new funding? If nothing else? Real American heros who lost there lives in Texas didn’t get hours of tv time. Yet on Sunday they kept replaying the Boston deal. I had way to many years in the volunteer fire dept. and 7 years as a limited term fireman for the state. Low pay summer job.that I gave it 110%. Thank quotas for minority’s before I hung it up! Yes it was bad in Boston. But it could have been worse. Some one let there guard down! And that’s what happened. It could happen in a mall at Xmas just as well with far worse results! As a commuter rail employe. Have I seen a big change? In operations? Nope.

  • John Wolfe April 22, 2013, 1:06 pm

Outlawing ALL Pressure Cookers is going too far, you can make electric powered 110 volt Pressure Cookers legal, it only seals if connected to 110 volt power source, that way a terrorist must also drag around a gas powered generator to power it up to lock da lid! Additional strobe lights can be added or voice chip loudly blaring “a pressure cooker is in use!” Adding the Checzhnian National Anthem causes terrorist to freeze and place hand over heart, that ought solve the problem.

  • Travis Hunt April 21, 2013, 5:44 pm

I am quite offended about this post. Of course the NRA and gun and ammunition manufacturers are using these tragedies for profit. I recently tried to by .22 shells, $16 for a box of fifty. I like to shoot but it has become so expensive that I don’t shoot my Henry .45 long colt because the shells got too expensive. That gun is quite fun so I bought a Mares leg from Henry in .22 caliber so I could afford to shoot. $16 dollars for a box of 50 .22 shells. Somebody is making a huge profit off these tragedies and it isnt the the anti gun nuts.

    • jo April 23, 2013, 12:50 pm

Thank you for the only truth written on this blog. Overwhelmingly the posters here are shills for the NRA, which is a shill for gun manufacturers worlwide. Even our courts act as shills for the gun manufacturers when they fail to uphold the 2nd amendment which allows only a well regulated militia to keep and bear arms.

      • Chief_Cabioch August 9, 2013, 2:07 am

there might be a few shills in any group…but the NRA is made of of Patriots who have, can and will fight for the Second Amendment and those using these forums to denigrate the Members of the NRA…people like ME…are the Real Shills and nanny bloombergs,….who use ANY and all avenues to demagogue those they disagree with…..you are both on notice…..

  • Fred Mars April 21, 2013, 1:48 am

Divided they fall.Don’t let what others do distract from what MUST be done. We must defend our rights and our Constitution with the national and State governments. Our rights are not negotiable. “shall not be infringed” is explicit and requires no interpretation by any Supreme Court challenges. It was put there as the Second Article of Amendment for a very good reason. If you are not quite sure what that reason is, you can read about it at http://fixamerica-fredmars.blogspot.com/2013/04/a-lesson-in-constitution.html. Whether you are a hunter or just enjoy shooting, there is a very good reason this amendment was worded as it is. ALL gun laws are unconstitutional. Period. Now start with the state governments to repeal all unconstitutional laws and work up to Washington (DC.)That will get us all on the correct path to fix America.

  • John J. April 20, 2013, 10:12 pm

There’s this so called statistic of 90% of the people want more back ground checks, gun control, whatever. What 90% are they talking about? If that were true the congress and all the states would be under more gun control. Where did they get such a number? I had a statistic prof once told me that if he could make up the questions and choose the polling group, he could prove that Rhode island is bigger than Texas. Who was it that said “tell a lie often enough and people will think it’s the truth”? I think he was German about 1930-40 or such.

Bloomberg is not to be trusted in any way shape or form. A phony whining bastard out to ban all guns while he is protected by half dozen NYPD officers. Daddy Warbucks thinks his money can do anything.

  • Ed April 19, 2013, 9:36 pm

We already know about this. Many blogs are now tracking IP addresses and blocking them. One outfit hired an internet private eye who tracked the IP address to an SEIU office in an old office bldg even though they used proxy servers. Obama now has a disinformation system set up under one of his support groups could be ACORN or SEIU. A radio host began to suddenly get bombarded with unusual negative comments or comments that support Obama policies. You hear a lot of them on NPR and PBS. birtherreport.com was hit a while back but they are pretty much shut down now.

  • Robert April 19, 2013, 6:21 pm

It just goes to show that if a person is that sick in the head they will find some way to hurt as many others as they can. It doesn’t matter if they can’t get a hold of guns. They’ll find a way. The problem is in their heads, not the tool in their hands.

  • Rick April 19, 2013, 5:00 pm

The Boston terrorist worked for the Obama campaing last election and was a liberal activist at his collage.

Pass it on. fight fire with fire

  • John April 19, 2013, 4:23 pm

Bloomberg, Soros etc. Maybe we do need a law limiting how much money a person can be worth? Something is wrong with a system that allows a single person to acquire enough wealth to force his opinions on an entire country. Just a thought.

  • Jim Sutton April 19, 2013, 3:16 pm

How long do you think it will take for the Left and Hollywood to turn these terrorists into heroes and martyrs? My guess: In 72 hours you’ll begin to hear how American life turned them into radicals. Within two weeks, members of the Democrat party in Congress will be blaming the Republicans, Tea Party and NRA for their crimes. In twenty years, one of our elite universities wil be offering the surviving brother a tenured professorship after he is released from prison.

  • For The People April 19, 2013, 2:04 pm

My first post didn’t make it? What happend to the k9s after the race? Sweeps go on unt it’s all over? I work heavy rail commuter trains. We have 7 dogs and handlers it our rail unit. We don’t let off until any train is stopped for the night? And add any event to the schedule and its still the same patrol.and as a mechanic were cross trained to look for things at stations. And facility’s. if someone wants to pay my wages to do this I’m a 100% with it. I can also call upon local police depts if I don’t like something I see. or someone who’s a threat? The Marshall service is our odd man out. As they do random checks. I have a few that I see about once a month on a patrol. All great people! And heads up guys. Have I seen them work? Yes! Are they good? Yes. Not afraid to jump in the pool! I watched a crowd trample a small a small child. And who jumped in it. A Air Marshal. Big event that we have never seen before.or could plan for. Case in point what happend to the post k9 sweeps?

  • Mark McCue April 19, 2013, 11:36 am

I applaud the decision of gunsamerica to delete any posts that disparage either the 2nd amendment or its supporters. It’s time for those that do to get tough and start fighting back. We owe it not just to ourselves but to those who have gone before us and fought the good fight.

Geeze, black powder, like used in old time muskets, 3 COMMON ingredients available ANYWHERE. Explosives, high and low and blasting cap substitutes are easily made by ANY half witted Junior High School kid, at least they were back in the 70’s when er, people I heard of did it for amusement in the back yard (while observing all safety precautions). However explosives for amusement became boring and the crew moved on to making extremely difficult and time consuming creations such as highly complex fireworks with many muti color breaks, stars and reports, generally saved for the 4th of July to outdo the local FD Fireworks show.

Point is ANY smart, dedicated teenager can round up chemicals or if hard to find, chemical precursors and whatever they want to make any sort of destructive device and no one will ever be able to stop them. Only a vigilant public will stop bad guys, like the hardware store clerk wondering why some kid is buying things that could be bomb and shrapnel parts and reporting it right away.

Hurting people, or lots of people is easy, there are infinite ways. Healing the angry people that want to hurt others is hard, but is the only way to reduce threats of mass casualties, maybe some actual border control and PROFILING like the Israelis do would be helpful too.. but there is little common sense these days

  • John April 19, 2013, 9:38 am

Bloomberg said in a news conference that “seizing is not off the table”. That would be a violation of our 4rth Amendment. Polls show the American public is not in favor of more gun laws. They want more crime control, yet Bloomberg stands in front of the TV cameras and tells the American public they are for more gun laws. There is a video of Obama stating how “the constitution is preventing him from getting his bills passed”. These people are against most of the constitution and I think many of the American people in general are beginning to understand that. Obama is showing his true colors now that he don’t need to worry about re-election and he’s making more mistakes. What I try to do when I’m debating with an anti gunner is follow the lead of the experts. (The politicians) Steer the debate to one that would affect their rights. Bloomberg and Obama are in a league of their own. Thats why the senate voted down the last gun bill.

  • Jim Murphy April 18, 2013, 7:10 pm

Gun owners need to stop explaining, rationalizing, or apologizing for excercising our constitutional right. Our platform must not be open for any discussion. The message must be that the second amendment provides every citizen of the United Sates of America the right to keep and bear arms and prohibits legislation restricting this right. When we allow discussion the discussions turn into interpretations. The language of the second amendment needs no interpretation. It is explicitly simple. End the discussion. There must be another amendment to our constituion for the 2nd amendment to be changed.

    • John April 19, 2013, 9:53 am

I agree with Jim Murphy 100%. We do not need to rationalize or apologize. We need to steer the discussion to crime control and how the politicians are failing to figure out the root of the crime problems. Steer the discussion away from the second amendment and don’t allow the discussion to get back to that topic. The problem is crime, and people who hate Americans, not guns. Did the American people forget about the “sleeper cells” we were warned about after 9/11. Now we’re called “alarmists” when we bring it up.

No disrespect, but this should be about the antics of anti gunner’s, not any particular religion. It comes off unprofessional, and I don’t mean to offend you. We should stand united as one by pushing for more 2nd amendment protection. Only my opinion, I do enjoy some Monty Python….

    • Administrator April 18, 2013, 5:40 pm

If you do not desist with this rubbish I will say Ni to you again. It will be very nasty.

  • ANVIL April 18, 2013, 5:34 pm

So let us come to an understanding, I believe everyone has a right to his or her opinion. Now this post may sound racy and cruel but my point on so called “Gun Control” that the guy in the White House is throwing a tantrum about, Well first off I don’t recognize him as the President so I will stick to calling him “hey you”.
Guns are a tool, like anything else. knives can do just as much if not more damage than a bullet,up close of course. Now I know you have heard these arguments before but I would like to add a few so please hear me out. Cars with stupid, drunk, crazy and the “invincible” drivers cause more fatalities and injuries than any gun, knife, screwdriver or socket set ever has. And ladies if a woman is raped, or hey let’s go for the goal, man or woman is raped, should we all lobby to have all dicks chopped off. Your son or daughter is doing horribly in school, then fire the teacher because your child refuses or can not be taught in the same fashion as other children…oh wait they have done that. So when someone is beaten to death with a Webster’s new collegiate dictionary, should we confiscate and ban books?
Make no mistake, The Government wants your guns and they will stop at nothing to get them, of course they won’t say it. They have been lying about everything since the beginning. Name one thing “ONE” thing that was done, said or promised that somehow did not have a loophole for them exploit. Hell, by that time it’s already law. Now all this Jew stuff and Hitler rubbish is fine and dandy, I like the concepts, in fact I embrace them. And let’s also be clear that I do not have not and will never condone the actions of the evil. The fact is gun violence and gang violence are never heard in the same sentence much less coming from the same mouth twice.
So stricter gun laws, extensive background checks are not what America needs. The laws already in place are plenty enough, some are very borderline 2nd amendment violations, but they serve their purpose, they just need to be enforced. Anyone who is a danger to society is a danger no matter if they have a gun or a knife or a pen or a bicycle chain. So what do we use then, Fisher price cooking utensiles? Hell I’ll just take the plastic stove and refrigerator and smash you over the head with it.
If someone is out to do harm they will do it any way they see necessary to prove a point…or not. Guns seem like the easier way to achieve high body counts. Forget driving a car 80 miles an hour into a school and wiping out 40 or 50 kids, guns do it better.
So forgive my candid remarks if you can, some of it may cause a few people to boil beneath their skin but the “realization is not gun control, it is people control, We have been telling people for years and years “DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE” and yet it does no one any good because people will still think they can do it and get away with it. Criminals will still get guns and any other means to commit crimes. Passing new gun laws won’t change that either. Violence is violence and not by any other means, Gun control is an advocacy with the main reason The Government want it, not Guns…but Control.
    Thank you for your time.

I’d add that calling semiautomatic rifles “weapons of mass destruction” is BS!! Like you said, mass murderers will find a way. All they will do is go to the internet, find step by step instructions on how to make a bomb & then go blow people up! I don’t know about you but I’d rather having a fighting chance dodging bullets & returning fire than being blown to pieces!!!!

  • Brian Wilson April 18, 2013, 5:29 pm

Bloomberg can hire all the shiller’s he wants, it’s his money to waste. All tru pro gun Americans have much more sense than he thinks, let him waste all of the money he wants. It’s clear that even within his ranks the anti-gunners are starting to see the light. If too much pressure is put on law abiding gun owners and laws get too strict(they can’t enforce the ones on the books already), mentally ill, terrorists, and gangs will resort to more powerful, more destructive devices. Long live the 2nd amendment and the NRA!

    1. We are told that an person of interest of middle eastern decent is being guarded by submachine gun armed law enforcement in a Boston Hospital.
    2. President Obama holds an unscheduled meeting with a Saudi foreign minister with no questions or comments from the mainstream media.
    3. FBI schedules and then cancels “important press conference” three times.
    4. FBI announces that the “Saudi National” will be deported because of National Security.
    5. All of a sudden suspicion is pointed towards men dressed as Navy Seals.
I’m not a conspiracy therorist but this stinks to high heaven. The defeat of the anti Second Ammendment gun grabbing and registration bill is defeated in the Senate, even after the President flew in Connecticut families affected by the maniacle school shooter. President is livid.
Stay vigilant! This is not over by a long shot!

While I appreciate your warning your readers about paid, anti-gun trolls on the site (in fact, they are all over every forum on the web) , I disagree with your decision to block their postings. Far better to let us see what they are saying, so that we are prepared to rebut their screeds. It’s as easy to “flag” their contributions (e.g., “Suspected Troll”) as to delete them and that gives us a lot more useful information, as well as keeping us apprised of their presence.

Now, as to the “black powder” allegations, all reports I’ve seen and heard suggest that the suspected explosive agent was TATP/acetone-peroxide (which creates an explosive signature distinct from a black powder one, albeit one which more closely matches that shown on videos of the Boston explosions), which, unlike black powder, IS a “high explosive”. It’s also one which I could cook up, right now, using items in my shop, kitchen, and bathroom, so banning black powder is hardly going to save us from these kinds of attacks.

So, please rethink your decision to block these posts. By all means, let’s see what they have to say, then let’s use that to rebut and embarass them.

      • H. S. Plouse April 18, 2013, 1:47 pm

Relative to my comment and the moderator’s/administrator’s “nah” response (supra.), it’s your forum and your perogative, tho’ I think you’re wrong. I’m in the process of wrapping up a 30+ year legal career, with a 90%+ win record (in a system where 55% is considered excellent). My secret? I always let my opponents talk, while feverishly taking notes, after which, having gotten their plans straight from their own mouths, I could go back and prepare a rejoinder and counterattack to their every point – and, amusingly, half of them could never figure out how I was so successful second guessing them .

I enjoy sharing opinions with like thinkers, but I always profited most by letting the people I disagreed with expose their plans and their ignorance. Meanwhile, I guess I’ll put my efforts into “Newsvine”, where I can joust with the forces of darkness and maybe make a convert or two. Have a good day.

Well wrap that thing up already for heaven’s sake. Then go buy a Black Label Society record or two and chill out, rejoicing in the fact that you are no longer a parasite lawyer.

The grand jury is the mechanism our forefathers designed for us to hold our servants accountable.
The servants have over the years, dumbed down the people from exercising their sovereignty in a grand jury.

The grand jury is the only check and balance that is not made up of public servants, and is the highest governmental power and authority, over even the pres, and the Supreme court.
Educate ourselves on the power of a grand jury, such as the power to; appoint a special prosecutor, a special judge, investigators, order the federal marshals to bring anyone before them for questioning, even call out the militia.
Gather evidence on a servant who is committing treason against his contract with the people, his oath, and then. find out when a grand jury is convening.
Go in, inform them (or the foreman) you have a matter for the grand Jury. Then teach them, with evidence the power they have, and then present your evidence of; for example, of Obama perjuring his oath by attempting to infringe on the right of the people to keep and bear arms.
They can then order the marshals to pick him up, and bring him before them for questioning.
The Grand jury is in some ways like a king. They are over all in their power to investigate and initiate or prevent charges.
They are the ultimate check and balance for the people.
Imagine that as soon as Obama gets done answering the questions of one grand Jury in Phoenix, the marshals take him to one in Oklahoma, to answer questions about him continuing to keep the country in a state of war, which give him emergency powers by executive order. Doing that is violation of his oath as well.
After that, bring him before a grand jury in Wisconsin, to answer for something else.
How about having the marshals bring us Devilish Diane? , or Tammy Balwin, or Blustery Biden.
However, the bigger picture is that our liberty is on the way out, I believe, when we shed innocent blood with abortions, and we turn away from following the principles of God in our morality. If we, who call ourselves Christians, do not repent, then all we are getting is stop gap results, while the in the main, we will be going down. In Bible times, when the people went against God, he would bring up a nation of heathen to punish them, enslaving them.
Is that why the Muslims are expanding so quickly? Is God going to punish his people with the heathen again?

    Breaking News:

The Boston Bomber is the person in the hospital who checked himself in with burns. The person is a Saudi Arabian from a very prominent Saudi Family. The Obama Administration is going to cover-up the bombing in Boston. As I type, the Obama Administration is deporting this person, who was the person of interest from the start, back to Saudi Arabia before anyone finds out. This news is coming straight from my contacts in Washington.

Again, the bomber is being deported back to Saudi Arabia. He comes from a very prominent Saudi Family!

How much more are the citizens of this country going to stand for?

Are we all going to sit back while the Obama Administration pulls another Benghazi on us…?

Impeach the Obama Administration including most of the Senators and Congressman along with the fraud Obama and then through them in jail for life!

The bigger story is the BOMB BLAST in Texas with over 150 hurt and 15 dead. I just listened to the 911 call, the person who called the blast in said “A Bomb just went off”.

This country is now fully under siege!

Another huge cover-up by the Obama Administration and Hillary Clinton!

    Lock and Load folks…

This is not to upset anyone but is a historical fact. The Democratic Party is responsible for all gun laws in this country. National Firearms Act 1934 Pres. Roosevelt. Gun Control Act 1968 Pres. Johnson 1994 Assault Weapons Ban Pres. Clinton and now another push by Pres.O’Bamma for more gun control. All of these laws were enacted in the name of public safety. Well does anyone feel safer? How many times is a gun used to protect or defend someone? We will never know because no media will report it. But if someone commits a mass killing it’s all over the news. We have Pres. O’Bamma exploiting the families of Newtown,Ct. to further the parties agenda toward gun control.
We need sympathy for the victims and common sense in our government.

  • Bare Arms April 18, 2013, 9:00 am

Almost every video on You Tube yesterday started with an add about how selfish gun owners don’t care about the families of Sandy Hook. The right wingers have bought a lot of anti gun ads there and if you try to watch anything that has a gun in it you will most likely have to watch the ad. They have absolutely no shame in trying to shove gun llegislation down our throats.

In a nation full of freedoms some speak of banning items. In this forum we use the 1st Amendment each and every time we place a comment on the board. Some have even mentioned the 3rd Amendment freedom of religion. No race no religion is any more accountable then the other. But what we all here subscribe to is the 2nd Amendment. But that freedom is used to defend all other freedoms. We have something no other country has a Constitution with a Bill of Rights. Lets protect it, defend it and remain a free people.

    • John W April 18, 2013, 9:19 am

Food for thought. The Democratic Party is responsible for all gun control laws in this country. National Firearms Act 1934 Pres. Roosevelt. Gun Control Act 1968 Pres. Johnson. Assault Weapons Ban 1994 Pres. Clinton. Now Pres. O’Bamma with more gun control legislation. How many times have you heard of someone being arrested from a background check? How many criminals go to gun shops or gun shows to buy? Last I heard they steal them. Enforce the laws we have now and make the criminals responsible for their actions.

      • Johnny R April 22, 2013, 11:56 pm

John W., I don’t disagree with what you are saying. However, I’ve worked at two different gun shops and there were times when criminals did indeed attempt to buy guns & the Instant checks did indeed work. State police ended up interviewing me concerning the paperwork & incidents which did lead to arrests being made in all cases. Now, I live & work in an area of only about 140K people in a rural area of PA (not much outside our area but mountains & woods). If it’s happening here then I’m sure it’s happening elsewhere.

Also, we have stopped many “straw purchases”, ie…the gang bangers have their women purchase the guns for them. I’m of the opinion that some attempts have gone undetected though & I’m not sure how to exactly stop the Straw Purchase.

Either way, I surely am a believer that all law abiding citizens have every Right to purchase, own & lawfully use whatever firearm they see fit!!

  • Bear April 18, 2013, 5:58 am

First off, my heart goes out to those families/friends of the victims of the Boston bombing.
How come we ONLY hear about news like this if people are hurt/killed. Since when are guns and bombs related? Really, then in the same category let us include knives, bow and arrows, sticks, rocks, pencils, etc.
I never hear the over-reaction of the press when a gun owner (like a carry conceal owner) happens to use his/her gun in defense of a criminal/criminal activity for the use of the common good!
    Just my take.

  • Johnny R April 18, 2013, 4:58 am

Administrator, your post is well done & I agree. We MUST FIGHT to protect our rights BUT we MUST do so intelligently, soundly, logically & carefully (as to not sound like a bunch of nuts who are howling like wolves). We MUST stay true to our SHEEP DOG nature. KNOWLEDGE & RIGHTOUSNESS folks is what WE, gun owners of our free Republic, are all about. WOLVES are cunning & powerful and will prey on our weaknesses (if permitted). Do NOT allow them to out smart us. Remember, natural selection has proved that WOLVES will not survive (without our help) and thus SHEEP DOGS & firearms prevail.

    • John Roefaro April 22, 2013, 4:24 am

The NEWS MEDIA continues to try to destroy our Republic with their spin on both extreme Left vs extreme Right toxic BS. It’s no longer “news” but barely “entertainment”. There seems to be no limit at their very thin strecth of truth or outright lies! Recently “EXPERTS” have reported that the FBI screwed up by not reading the captured Boston bombing Suspect his Miranda Rights. Anyone in law enforcement will see right through that and call “BS”!

First: It sounds as though that the Suspect was in NO CONDITION to communicate!

2nd: Miranda does not apply merely because a Suspect is “arrested” (taken into custody).
-If Law Enforcement (LE) already has enough evidence to establish “probable cause” leading to an arrest, LE may not need to even question (question arrested Suspect concerning specifics of the crime alleged) the Suspect, thus Miranda does not apply.
-Miranda only applies when two conditions are met (and both conditions must exist together for Miranda to apply); Suspect must be under arrest and not free to leave AND LE must be questioning Suspect about the specifics of the alleged crime.

Now, depending on state or location; LE may arrest & hold for Official Arraignment (charges are officially read to suspect by a judge) a Suspect for a limited amount of time (again depending on location). That time (being held for arraignment) may be anywhere from 9hrs (where I am by policy) to (I’ve heard) up to 48hrs. This time is used for processing & creating criminal charging documents as well as for questioning. This time may be expanded under certain unusual circumstances such as Suspect being hospitalized or injured to extent that he cannot communicate (as in this bomber’s case).

Miranda does not apply merely for a phone call as soon as a suspect is arrested. Also Miranda does not give a suspect the right to a lawyer if suspect is not being questioned (see above). Usually at arraignment (by a judge) a suspect is given an opportunity to make a phone call to notify someone of their arrest & bail set. Miranda is only required when a suspect is arrested AND when being questioned by LE specifically about the crime alleged!

I’m soo tired of hearing how the FBI is screwing this up by not immediately advising the Suspect of his Miranda Rights and the lie that as soon as the cuffs are on a suspect has a right to a lawyer and a phone call & must be immediately advised of their Miranda Rights. That is all media hype & BS clouding the issue and causing controversy where there actually is NONE!

Folks need to stop confusing reality with TV drama! Stop buying all the media hype! Educate yourselves before spouting off with bad information!!! BE INFORMED! I suggest anyone with questions read the Miranda case for themselves. Also a good working knowledge of Federal & your State’s case law is preferred AS WELL as a good working knowledge of your State’s “Rules of Criminal Procedure”. Obviously unless you are in the biz, this would not be a priority to most & thus usually most folks are not truely informed of the facts & procedures.

1st – THANKS for ending the babble by the ANTIs! There are two sides, but the TRUTH should always prevail over innuendo, propaganda and lies.

As for the incident…agreed on 3F for the agent in the IEDs or whatever folks want to call the cooker bombs. White smoke gave me that notion the first pic I saw. Let’s keep an ear to the ground and all eyes on the evil betrayers in D.C. that want to turn this tragedy into something other that what it was.

The antis are pizzed since the UN ATT progress was halted and yesterdays NAY vote on blanket NICS and mag cap restrictions. They will not stop until ________!????

Thoughts and prayers for the victims and their families and may the folks from Bellevue pick up and retain all the commentators with their opinions. Let’s stick to the facts, get to the true bottom and HANG THE SOB(s) that were responsible for this incident in Boston. A public hanging would send a clear and meaningful message to those that consider such atrocities.

  • UndergroundNews April 18, 2013, 1:58 am

Oh, I must mention another fact…Everyone get your calculators out and get ready for Math 101. The sick people posting on this board should really cry after they do this easy math that is if they have any idea how to do math…!

A few weeks ago, CBS, New York Times, NBC and most importantly, the Obama Administration and said, “The Number of Americans on Food Stamps hit a Record High at 15% of the population”

    Link: http://www.nbcnews.com/business/report-15-americans-food-stamps-980690

Lets do the math, ready you sick left wing radical fools?

15% of around 300 Million of the U.S. Population equals, approx. 45 Million people on food stamps struggling.

Ok, now add the number of unemployed, the Obama Administration lies and tells you unemployment is around 7% to 8%, we all know he is a liar and a fraud!

But, lets take his false numbers anyways. Ok, 8% of 300 Million people equals approx. 24 Million.

Liberals and left wing radicals, are you ready for the numbers! Simple Math 101 does not lie nor does Obama that you voted for right…! Ok..read on…

The Obama Administration has been removing all the unemployed from the database that cannot collect anymore, the people that have exhausted all unemployment benefits, the people that are bankrupt, no more money coming in. So, as a person is done collecting, he or she is removed from the unemployment numbers therefore making it look like more people are finding jobs but in reality, the jobless numbers are getting worse!

Even if you use the Obama Administration false numbers, we have upwards of 100 Million people on food stamps and out of work. That is 1/3 of the U.S. Population.

Now, someone please enlighten me! Why do we have a shortage of Ammo in this country if so many people cannot afford to buy any due to no cash coming in? The answer, Obama has been stock piling Ammo and Guns trying to stop people from getting them. The Obama Administration has spent Billions of dollars buying Ammo to stop the people, “Law Abiding Citizens” of this country from getting it.

    Link to story: http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/02/17/Feds-Buy-2-Billion-Rounds-Of-Ammunition

Something strange is going on. Federal non-military agencies have bought two billion rounds of ammunition in the last 10 months. The Obama Administration says that federal law enforcement agents need the ammunition for “mandatory quarterly firearms qualifications and other training sessions.”

Ok, I am telling everyone invested in the stock market to get out fast! The next “HUGE” collapse will be the stock market and when it does, you will not be able to sell anything fast enough!

Obama and his thugs in office have ruined this country!

  • Gary Albert April 18, 2013, 1:51 am

Pros,Cons and Orwell. Damn..Should I sell all of my guns..or buy more??
    I pause to reflect.

Hi Folks, (The Good People on this Forum),,,,

Let me tell you something. I hope many on this board have seen the news in Texas, the fertilizer plant explosion…..Ok, here is the truth, like it or not…Has anyone asked themselves the million dollar question as to what is going on with so many disasters so close together…? You better get ready, from the looks of things, the United States is in deep trouble with many more disasters coming. I suggestion to all, sell your stocks, bonds and mutual funds and run from the stock market. Isn’t it funny, yesterday, the DOW was down approx. 138 points. Who knew the explosion was going to happen in Texas…? Someone knew because the markets responded before the event took place last night. Everything is being setup and everything is happening for a reason so close together. If anyone has any kind of accounts with brokers, sell everything and move into cash. Sit on the side lines and watch as the DOW hits 7500. The damage is now done in this country, no turning back now folks. The people hurt in the explosion at the fertilizer plant last night was over 100 people. How many hurt at the Boston event, over 150. Yes, how many close calls have we had in the last few days, yes, many and it is not a good sign! Get out of the stock market, sit on cash and pray!

He did blow it on Penis Morgan’s show. He had a perfectly good opportunity shut down Penis on facts alone but he clouded the topic with hysterics and bringing up other topics that would have served his arguement better had he left them unspoken. My dad used to tell me that when you are debating something with somebody or arguing a point, losing your cool, yelling, and letting your emotions boil over weakens your case. Alex did all those things and managed to make all of us with an AR look like crazy freaking people. Kinda pissed me off.

  • zach April 18, 2013, 1:13 am

This comment is intended for the author of this article. I am all about keeping our right to bear arms and I don’t believe in any new gun laws, in fact, I think our forefathers intended for us to be able to have full auto weapons! I was raised with a gun in my hand and taught to respect all firearms from the time i was a kid. My dad had his FFL and we spent many good times together shooting tin cans and I spent many good times with my grand dad hunting quail (before they became so hard to find down here in FL) and I have bought many things from GA so understand that what i am about to say is not coming from a stupid friggin libtard anti-gunnner. I always read these GA articles about our rights being threatened and find them very informative but goddam man…. for the sake of all of us that see how crazy Alex Jones makes himself look and try to distance ourselves from him, PLEASE stop saying things like “the medicated masses”!! I understand you point and the reason you use that expression but try to understand that if somebody that is on the fence about our rights happens to drop in on one of your articles and reads things like that they are going to be turned off instantly. It makes us all look like Alex Jones fans. Which btw, I don’t think is a bad guy and frankly I agree with some of his stuff but I think that he has become so obsessed with some of his theories that are probably true that he has made himself paranoid. Kinda like he saw one ghost one time and now he is so obsessed with them he sees them everywhere.

  • Gary April 18, 2013, 12:26 am

I’m begining to belive that the Obama administration itself is behind the latest mass killings like Aurora, Colo., and Newtown, Conn., and probably the bombings in Boston just to get the public to believe that guns are the only thing causing all of the violence. This was done in Germany by Hitler in the 1930’s to get the people to agree to gun control, once the government controls all the guns, they control the people and the people have no more control, and that folks is nothing more than Communism, the same thing that we as a country has been fighting in other countries to help them from becomming, and helping the people to become or stay FREE. It seems as quite a coincidence that so much killing has taken place AFTER Obama has gotten elected to office and that he has always been an anti-gun activist.

    • John April 19, 2013, 10:39 am

For the last several years, We have been winning too many battles for Obama and Bloomberg to accept. The case in DC, Chicago, Rights to carry in parks, many towns and cities changing their laws to avoid suits. Many states easing up their ccw laws. Polls showing the majority of American public are against more gun laws. Now it seem the disasters won’t stop. It has to make you wonder.

Same for others. that type of posting is just what the bloomburg groups wants. We all like our firearms and the sport and comaradery we find in their use but we should make positive posts and point out the good many organizations do such as the NRA. The NRas so much more than a lobby. they have taught marksmanship to millions of Americans and this has served our country well over the years. they teach gun safety and responsibility and hunting with an edge on supporting the sustainability of the wildlife. There is so much good in many of our organizations that needs to be told to the general public. GunsAmerica by raising this issue is anouther winner. Lets quit bickering, playing down others and show the average Joe or Josephine what law abiding gunowners do to make this country a better place.

If you’re trying to convince the public of how intelligent and levelheaded 2nd Amendment supporters are (to say nothing of our sense of professionalism), could we avoid phrases like “Alex Jones is the turd in the punch bowl”? Even if the left fails to bait us into seeming crazy and unsympathetic, I’m sure they’d settle for crude and childish.

Any way i kept going through all the pictures and going back to see the Bomb go off as i was looking at this Mailbox that they said a man put this bag in front of it,, this bag was like a tan lite brown and some white ,, the bag was open enough that you could see in there ,, you have to get up close to it , making the picture Bigger and Bigger i could not see anything like a black backpack in there. and some backpacks are big so i would think it would have to be of good size to put a pressure cooker in one , and if this backpack was of little big i think it would of stuck out of the bag a little bit , The bag by the Mail box was open you would of thought that some one would of seen what was in it that is how much that bag was open , i really did Freek me out when i see what happened,, And after watching this bomb go off, and them saying that the bag by the mailbox is the one that blew up ,, My dad being in the Army all his life he has seen thing i have never seen , But he also taught me things that will stick with me all my life , Now after watching this bomb go off 10 times i can say to my self that
bomb did not go off in the front of all those people because if it did the Buliding that was behind them the windows would of Blew the Glass inside the Buliding and it did not the windows blew out of the buliding onto the side walk and in the street take a look at the buliding i not sure i will have to looke again but i think 3 floors up have no windows and the window blew out not in the store when i seen it blast go off it came from behind these people not from the front of them and the bag by the mailbox was a bag of trash because there was trash all over the place after that and nothing happened to the mail box I am sorry it took to long to explain these people are always making up so much crap it gets to me and they Always have to lie about everything making shit up as they go I wonder if they ever think that we the Public are sick of this crap well any way ,, 2 finger typer here if i typed any words wrong sorry,, And the smoke that they were talking about came from behind all those people

I believe you may be mixing up and combining two separate bombs…there were two bombs…the one next to the mail box was the second one to explode and there are images of the backpack there. The first bomb exploded behind the flags and was captured clearly on video but it is not the same as the one which exploded next to the mailbox.

I am “pro choice”…I want to “choose” the best arms for my own needs!

I’m from Indiana, one of the state where Doomsberg invested money with his anti-gun adds. Thing were 12 states and $12 million in anti-gun adds telling people to call our senators, and blah, blah, blah, blah. First add Doomsberg ran in Indiana had this guy claiming to be a hunter, all the while holding his longarm out at chest level, swinging it from left to right, right to left, right to right, and left to left like when Obama fired his at someone’s face level, skeet shooting. I caught the add once, and imagined people in his path diving onto the ground to keep from geting their faces blown off by Doomsbergs “hunter”. Then word got out, like Obama the skeet shooter, and they replaced the add with the same guy now sitting on the tailgate of a truck, claiming to be a hunter. When I heard Obama lost the Senate vote today, first thing through my mind, email Doomsberg that he would have been better off spending his $12 million on buying 32oz Cokes for the homeless. I also hear that Obama is ANGRY over the whole loss. So angry that he might have a stroke. I have my fingers crossed and will say a few prayers before I go to bed, “…and God, please let Obama have a stro…”.

It may not have been black powder. Many improvised low-explosives produce a lot of smoke, such as potassium chlorate/sugar mixtures, matchhead scrapings, or the powder obtained from various class C fireworks.

We have had quite a few tragedies nation wide in the last few weeks. A guy went crazy with a knife and injured fourteen. A tour bus going to an Oklahoma Casino crashed in Dallas resulting in 3 dead and 30 to 40 injured. Now the bombing in Boston. So why aren’t the liberals crying to ban and/or register knives? Why don’t we ban commercial busses going to Casinos? Why don’t we ban and/or register pressure cookers? People will find a way to hurt others no matter what the tool, intentional or not. However, making these points among ourselves isn’t going to help the preservation of the 2nd amendment. These points need to be made nationally to combat the liberals.

The truth has been told and it is just another way to down play turning ALL of OUR rights to favorizim of Government and the next thing you know,we will not have any say at all.No where in our fore fathers words was it stated that,YOU as an elected government have the right to CHANGE the Uninted States Constitution,Yet you keep on making up your rules as you go.It won’t be long and we will have another war and this one will be to clean out all the money bags and presidentail office and reseat our Government and the ORIGINAL CONSTITUTION as drafted, not as,made up as we go for the privliges of the elected few and multi-millionaires(Oil).I will die before I lay down my arms and with God by my side. Just asour fore fathers had to fight off the british taxation,it seems to have made it’s way back and everybody down to the park sweeper has their hands in the cookie jar.I think Texas should use it right to seperate from the union and take care of texas and our ungaurded boarders, that the Government can’t seem to handle on it own.Giving Afgans our wepons to kill our trainers and 1.6 BILLION U.S.Tax dollars every year. They don’t even take care of us anymore,so we have to defend ourselves and disband this capitolistic government before it takes everything away except for itself. They are pretty close already. If we seperate now we get 1/50th of all government properties and TEXAS can hold it own ,because we have everything in this part of lands drawn to be uninted, but we can still receed from it and let them drown themselves and end up with no consitution.Today Police kill inocent children and get slapped on the wrist,Obama and the Justice Legue(HA!) makes constitutional add ons.Have you tries to read it lately, you can’t do it in two breaths anymore, they have to write four,to cover the last two screwups and on it goes.STAND UP STOP AND WAKE UP>We can not change the constitution anymoreANYMORE,nothing that suits your fancey pants. There has been a lot more then five crying mothers in our fight for freedom and YOU BIG GOVERNMENT had better take a rain check and curtail your own rights, while you can still sit or stand in office, your going to create a disaster over every little thing that happens and then when you completely turn our consitution into toilet paper, thats exactly what you’ll be wearing.WE THE PEOPLE,I believe it starts NOT>WE THE GOVERNMENT.Put the constitution back to the way it was written and we will, perhaps realize that our tax money is for the people not for foriegn aid and bandaids.$1.6 billion yearly to Afgans, let then kill each other off like they have been doing since the year of our Lord.We don’t need them, people in America needs to be SELF EVIDENT and care for our needs.Take a good look at the Canadian and its Boarders or any other county,YET That for a person to hold the office of president they have to be born in AMERICA and OBAMA <yourMAMA dropped your in Africa and then transfer you to the H.IS.that wasn't even a part of the original coloneys.YOU ARE NOT MY PRESIDENT AND YOU SCREWED UP MY COUNTRY.Go away and take all the house and justices with you,we can elect better people ourselves and add a clause that states if you get up out of your chair and walk out,you just walked out on your job.And further we will set a rally to bring back the common good legislation of our country for our country,WE OWE NO one.until the Bushes rain of terrorism and now yours,we we're doing fairly well with Clinton in office.L.Siple A REAL AMERICAN HEART AND SOUL.TEXAS PROUD East Chapter Alliance.

    Okay, THIS is my take.

The Boston Marathon is indeed a tragedy. Unfortunately there are those who will take advantage of the aftermath. It wouldn’t surprise me if indeed the “Whistleblower” posts were staged… either by anti-gun shills looking for a reaction to go “Gotchya!” over, or some special stupid who thought it would be funny. Either way, we don’t need to spread it further. God knows there’s enough fake warnings floating through the net warning us of this or that. Nobody really knows yet who’s responsible, except for the one(s) behind it, and as far as I know of, they have yet to start bragging. Its irresponsible to speculate and downright despicable to say not to speculate and then do so. We all need to stay calm and focused on the truth and facts and honestly HELPING where we can.

I don’t own a I Pod and they are as dangerous as a gun.I don’t tell other they can’t have a I Pod or have to chose only certain addons.Like pressure cookers they are a mater of choice.Gun’s are a legal choice given to use by our constitution.Anyone with a brain can count the reasons. We don’t have black helicopters, but if someone sends them to take our guns, reducing us to Subject instead of Citizen, we will protect our right to be Citizen. Is this that hard to understand?

Turd in the punch bowl huh? Alex Jones is one of the few media outlets willing to say what everyone is thinking. He doesn’t pull any punches. The time for being calm is over. This is an all out war over our gun rights. Apparently you believe that the Govt loves and cares about us. A lot of you so called defenders of freedom think the govt isn’t capable of harming its own citizens. Let’s just take a look back at recent history. During prohibition the loving Govt poisoned the alcohol supply to discourage people from drinking. What do you think happened? People continued to drink. The Govt decided to put more poison in the alcohol, and ended up killing 10000 people. This and many other reasons are why I don’t trust them as far as I can throw them.

I’m one of a team of administrators & mods for a CO firearms forum. While we tend to error on the side of not offending possible legit members, the staff is clearly aware the anti-firearms shills are getting onto our site. We’re actively watching members who overtly or subtly demonstrate divisive and anti-gun rhetoric. Most don’t last long.

All firearms sites have anti’s, liberal media and government folks watching closely for anything they can use to demonize all firearms owners. Diligence and not falling into the baited traps they set to illicit negative reactions is required of our community. Mostly, we need to constantly remind ourselves that we all share a common goal which critically requires us to stand together now more than ever before. This is about freedom versus control, not safety. The results of our actions, or lack thereof, could reach out for generations.

Be safe. Be vigilant. Be a positive representative for the firearms community.

I think we need to let the investigators investigate and determine the who, why and how of all if this. If we get to speculating about this unfortunate, criminal incident we’re no better than the mainstream media who fly off the handle at the blink of an eye. Yesterday they were talking about other explosive devices that were found and disarmed, then they all backed off of that. Today, it was that a suspect was arrested, then they backed off of that. They’re just churning crap out and they know it because there is nothing factual to report. If the investigators know something they’re not going to blab it to the press unless the investigators purposely put something out. We all need to wait.

Dateline: Albany 4/16/13 (Explosive transportation devices)

Governor Cuomo made this statement this morning concerning the tragedy yesterday at the Boston Marathon. “Our hearts go out to the victims of this senseless tragedy. Early reports indicate that explosives were concealed in explosive transporting devices, commonly referred to as backpacks. These explosive transportation devices were then placed in trash cans around the finish line of the marathon. Based on this information and in line with our stated goal of being the most progressive state in the union, I am issuing the following mandate”. “Explosive transportation devices with any one of the following features will be banned. A back strap, an internal capacity of more than 1 book, a handle, wheels or any other pack that just looks “scary”. “These things have only one use, to conceal what you are carrying. With that thought in mind, I am immediately requiring any new explosive transportation devices (ETD’s) to be constructed of clear vinyl so that any and all contents can be easily seen. A background check will be conducted on any new ETD purchases. In addition, I am banning all ETD’s within 1000 feet of any school or government building. Current owners of banned ETD’s will have 30 days to register these with the state police. Current owners of ETD’s will be allowed to continue to use them provided that they take a picture of what is in the ETD and then Velcro the picture to the outside of the ETD. This should give the impression of having the clear vinyl view. When stopped and checked, the contents of the ETD must exactly match the posted picture. Failure to update the photo when changing contents will result in a felony charge of domestic terrorism”. Governor Cuomo continued. “Our early polling indicates that 90% of the people agree with the common sense initiatives. There will be some right wing extremists that will protest, but we must resist those that cling to their backpacks and religion”.
Our man on the street, Kendall Williams, got this reaction from one of the people coming out of the polling place, set up outside Elementary school number 16 in Rochester NY. Seven year old, Little Jimmy Roberts, had this to say. “I’m all for this change. This stupid backpack is waaaaay too heavy. My doctor says that I have the beginning of scoliosis and the backpack is the problem”. When asked if he planned to register his now banned ETD, he replied “no, I think I’m just going to sell it out of state”.

    WANT A FREE HOUSE ?

I was in my neighborhood restaurant this morning and was seated behind a group of jubilant individuals celebrating the coming implementation of the health care bill. I could not finish my breakfast. This is what ensued: They were a diverse group of several races and both sexes. I heard a young man exclaim, “Isn’t Obama like Jesus Christ? I mean, after all, he is healing the sick.”

A young woman enthusiastically proclaimed, “Yeah, and he does it for free. I cannot believe anyone would think that a free market wouldn’t work for health care.”

Another said, “The stupid Republicans want us all to starve to death so they can inherit all of the power. Obama should be made a Saint for what he did for those of us less fortunate.”

At this, I had more than enough. I arose from my seat, mustering all the restraint I could find, and approached their table. “Please excuse me; may I impose upon you for one moment?”

They smiled and welcomed me to the conversation. I stood at the end of their table, smiled as best I could and began an experiment.

“I would like to give one of you my house. It will cost you no money and I will pay all of the expenses and taxes for as long as you live there. Anyone interested?”

They looked at each other in astonishment. “Why would you do something like that?” asked a young man, “There isn’t anything for free in this world.” They began to laugh at me, as they did not realize this man had just made my point.

“I am serious, I will give you my house for free, no money whatsoever. Anyone interested?”

In unison, a resounding “Yeah” fills the room.

“Since there are too many of you, I will have to make a choice as to who receives this money-free bargain.”

I noticed an elderly couple was paying attention to the spectacle unfolding before their eyes, the old man shaking his head in apparent disgust.

“I tell you what; I will give it to the one of you most willing to obey my rules.”

Again, they looked at one another, an expression of bewilderment on their faces.

The perky young woman asked, “What are the rules?”

I smiled and said, “I don’t know. I have not yet defined them. However, it is a free home that I offer you.”

They giggled amongst themselves, the youngest of which said, “What an old coot. He must be crazy to give away his home. Go take your meds, old man.”

I smiled and leaned into the table a bit further. “I am serious, this is a legitimate offer.”

They gaped at me for a moment.

“I’ll take it you old fool. Where are the keys?” boasted the youngest among them.

“Then I presume you accept ALL of my terms then?” I asked.

The elderly couple seemed amused and entertained as they watched from the privacy of their table. “Oh yeah! Where do I sign up?”

I took a napkin and wrote, “I give this man my home, without the burden of financial obligation, so long as he accepts and abides by the terms that I shall set forth upon consummation of this transaction.”

I signed it and handed it to the young man who eagerly scratched out his signature.

“Where are the keys to my new house?” he asked in a mocking tone of voice.

All eyes were upon us as I stepped back from the table, pulling the keys from pocket and dangling them before the excited new homeowner.

“Now that we have entered into this binding contract, witnessed by all of your friends, I have decided upon the conditions you are obligated to adhere to from this point forward. You may only live in the house for one hour a day. You will not use anything inside of the home. You will obey me without question or resistance. I expect complete loyalty and admiration for this gift I bestow upon you. You will accept my commands and wishes with enthusiasm, no matter the nature. Your morals and principles shall be as mine. You will vote as I do, think as I do and do it with blind faith. These are my terms. Here are your keys.” I reached the keys forward and the young man looked at me dumbfounded.

“Are you out of your mind? Who would ever agree to those ridiculous terms?” the young man appeared irritated.

“You did when you signed this contract before reading it, understanding it and with the full knowledge that I would provide my conditions only after you committed to the agreement.”

The elderly man chuckled as his wife tried to restrain him. I was looking at a now silenced and bewildered group of people.

“You can shove that stupid deal up your a** old man. I want no part of it!” exclaimed the now infuriated young man.

‘You have committed to the contract, as witnessed by all of your friends. You cannot get out of the deal unless I agree to it. I do not intend to let you free now that I have you ensnared. I am the power you agreed to. I am the one you blindly and without thought chose to enslave yourself to. In short, I am your Master.”

At this, the table of celebrating individuals became a unified group against the unfairness of the deal.

After a few moments of unrepeatable comments and slurs, I revealed my true intent.

“What I did to you is what this administration and congress did to you with the health care legislation. I easily suckered you in and then revealed the real cost of the bargain. Your folly was in the belief that you can have something you did not earn, and for that which you did not earn, you willingly allowed someone else to think for you. Your failure to research, study and inform yourself permitted reason to escape you. You have entered into a trap from which you cannot flee. Your only chance of freedom is if your new Master gives it to you. A freedom that is given can also be taken away. Therefore, it is not freedom at all.”

With that, I tore up the napkin and placed it before the astonished young man. “This is the nature of your new health care legislation.”

I turned away to leave these few in thought and contemplation — and was surprised by applause.

The elderly gentleman, who was clearly entertained, shook my hand enthusiastically and said, “Thank you, Sir. These kids don’t understand Liberty .”

He refused to allow me to pay my bill as he said, “You earned this one. It is an honor to pick up the tab.”

I shook his hand in thanks, leaving the restaurant somewhat humbled and sensing a glimmer of hope for my beloved country.

  • Harold April 17, 2013, 6:54 pm

Another conservative, capitalist gun owning Jew here. Life member in the NRA. I hunt, carry and contribute money to pro-2nd Amendment causes and candidates too. The couple of people who think banning guns is some kind of Jewish conspiracy are ignorant. Unfortunately, they have no idea just how many Jews are pro-gun, pro 2nd Amendment and anti-Socialist. There are far more Christians (or Christian-turned-Atheist) leading the charge to ban guns than Jews.
    Coalition To Stop Gun Violence – Formed in 1974 by the United Methodist General Board of Church and Society formed the National Coalition to Ban Handguns;
Church of the Brethren – sponsors anti-gun groups
Baptist Peace Fellowship of North America – sponsors anti-gun groups
You can add the Presbyterian Church and United Church of Christ to the list too….Oh, and there are some anti-2nd Amendment Jewish groups too, I don’t deny it.
But, Jews also sponsor: Jews For the Preservation of Firearms Ownership.
Jews or not, I can’t stand Feinstine, Schummer, or Wasserman-Schultz (you forgot that one) either – lots of Jews don’t like them.

What I’m trying to say is that if you are pro-2nd Amendment and dislike Jews because you think we are all against the 2nd Amendment, you are being foolish in alienating the people that would fight for your right to own whatever kind of firearm you would like.

The Pink Pistols are gay – while I might not like what they do in their own bedrooms (and they might not like what I do in mine), I would gladly welcome them to help fight along side me in preserving our precious 2nd Amendment and our Freedom. Anyone who can’t see through their prejudices (we all have them) to team up for Freedom is, in my opinion, just a schill who is not interested in preserving Freedom at all.

there is one thing that will stop the gun ,bomb, knife and the acid .the equipment is used in the nuclear industry .the equipment sniffs out chemical atoms that smell like a bomb .use them in schools to sniff out the gun a kid bring .this is not as good as a dog noise but it would be a stater in stopping bad thing.

“As most of us have come to understand, this crisis has gone far beyond politics. We have seen an unprecedented and sustained attack on not just our guns, but the entire pro-2nd Amendment and avid shooter culture itself”
While this statement is true as far as it goes, it’s not just the 2nd Amendment, or the “shooter culture” that is under attack. It’s important to remember that. It is the whole Constitution, and the traditional American way of life. Things like the Patriot Act, and the Assorted NDAA’s are also direct assaults on the Constitution and personal liberty as any of the assorted gun control bills. The efforts to destroy our freedoms have been the only truly bi-partisan efforts in congress for years

look here, my beloved & now dear departed, but NOT forgot dad, was a lifetime NRA member. And though I now realize (too LATE) that I most often condescended to listen when he offered advice regarding the assault on the right of people to own guns & bear arms, I can speak with CERTAIN disappointment when I hear, or read the inscrutable lack of Christian charity that promotes an unvarnished propaganda from the manufacturers who appoint NRA officers.

I try to do my small part. I called both my Ohio Senators and asked them to not support expanded background checks beyond gunshows and gave them a host of good reasons. Awhile back I also sent letters thru the Ruger site to my congressmen. If we all keep up the pressure we can counter some of the gun control nuts.

  • Rick April 17, 2013, 6:10 pm

I am an old man, and I really don’t understand what all this blog stuff is. I am used to debating a person/persons face to face, a written opinion is a one way one sided statement that does not confront an issue, but however just makes a statement about an issue. The issue we face today is not a right given by a document, it is about a God given unalienable right that we have since the beginning. Yes the Constitution and the Second amendment are the “law of the land” but those who would try to take away our right to defend ourselves, are just flat out wrong. While some will point out that the bible says to turn the other cheek, I would point out that God said “Thou Shalt not Kill” and if that means you should kill anyone then I would assume that if someone were trying to kill you defending yourself when you stop that killing. Remember God also said “an eye for and eye…” I support the Second Amendment simply because it is right to stop killings. I am just Glad that our Forefather had the intelligence to have written it down as a guide for this country to go by. If they ban weapons, then I will deal with it by ignoring it, what are they going to do, put us all in jail, then it’s your decision weather you will stand beside me or cave in to a runaway government who is out of control in the first place. Remember, they work for us, so that makes US the BOSS, not the other way around. And, it’s about time we told them that. For Christ sake, they taxes us to death and spend umpteen times what they get and live like Kings. Is there something wrong with this picture. When is the last time YOU had a $50,000.00 golf game, like the President and Vice President do every Sunday?

We live in the best country in the world. However, there are many sick and evil people out there. That’s why we need to protect the Second Amendment. We responsible gun owners CANNOT fuel the anti’s fire with irresponsible comments claiming government conspiracies faking tragedies and terrorist attacks so they can ban guns and powder. It makes us look like Neanderthals.

  • dontdoit April 17, 2013, 5:58 pm

Thank you for getting the word out. Yes I have noticed them too.
But sometimes it is fun to mess with them and watch them snap.

Another tactic is to give them a taste of their own medicine and keep them busy with senseless dribble.

  • Walter April 17, 2013, 5:56 pm

Plz, do not allow them to ban the pressure cooker…
I am a responsible person, and I like tender meat in my stews…

I know, as fact, I need neither violence, nor weapons of any kind, other than my mind,
if I feel the need to overthrow this or any other government… it will happen without even the threat of violence.

Violence is the tool of the week, and stupid.

Why do i belive, that a small number of smart hard working people can change the world when needed…
Because it is the only thing that ever has…
    Well, without violence I mean.

    also on another note…
    RIMFIRE ROCKS!!!
plz make some ammo, we have pleanty by now for N Korea and Iran…
I mean heck, the Chinese will carry a large load of that problem anyways…
We owe them too much money for them not to help us.

I have to take issue with your decision to ban all anti-gun comments. I am retired military, I support the Constitution of the United States and have fought to protect our way of life. I have enjoyed being a member of Guns America and think it is a vital part of our freedom of expression in America. I have been a member of the Republican Party for forty years and will be so until death.
I guess what I am trying to say is that if Guns America can’t allow comments that disagree with the authors of its blogs, it falls right in line with other organizations and governments that have burned books and restricted the rights of its citizens. Not all of us blindly believe that access to guns without question is our constitutional right. Having seen the result of AR fire on the human body, I can tell you that it is a weapon that MUST stay out of the hands of some. To restrict comments against gun control is almost as bad as the government banning everyone from owning weapons. There has to be middle ground here somewhere.
If you decision to exclude anti-gun comments is firm and is now policy, I have no choice but to severe my contact with your site. Too bad, your loss!

    • Administrator April 17, 2013, 6:04 pm

The middle ground is actually allowing comments from real people. Are you one?

    • Jeff April 17, 2013, 11:13 pm

      Wayne W. said:
“Not all of us blindly believe that access to guns without question is our constitutional right.”

A statement like that just tells me that you have not ever taken the time to TRULY understand the Constitution and what it’s all about.

“We are endowed by our Creator with certain un-a-lien-able rights, among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” unalienable means NO lien can every be placed upon them.

Notice it does NOT say “endowed by this Constitution…..” The term “Constitutional Right(s)” is incorrect on it’s face and spreads (usually unintentional) deception. Accurately stated it would be “Constitutionally protected rights”, recognizing that we had these rights long before the Constitution was written and even before the Magna Carta was signed in 1215. Man has ALWAYS had these certain rights.

The bottom line though, if you truly study the Constitution, is that we are free to do WHATEVER THE HECK WE WANT… have whatever we want, go wherever we want anytime and as often as we want, SO LONG AS…. we do not violate or infringe on another persons rights in the process. As soon as our actions infringe on anyone else’s rights, THEN there is a problem, but NOT until.

The BIG BIG BIG problem is that most American’s have been brainwashed into thinking that they
have a right to be or feel “safe”. PLEASE find that in the Constitution for me!!! Guarantee it’s not there.

In my personal understanding of it all, bars on windows, deadbolts, alarm systems, etc. are one thing, but laws which effect everyone… even in a small “generally acceptable way” in the name of “crime prevention” is an infringement on everyone’s rights. However, as soon as ANYONE injures another person or their property, or infringes on their rights in ANY way then there absolutely needs to be swift and fitting consequences.

It’s simply boils down to prevention vs. punishment. Anyone can argue all they want, but trust me, after 20+ years and many hundreds of hours studying everything from biblical and secular history to Magna Carta, most every document that’s ever been made public that is relevant to the founding of this nation, as well as hundreds of “laws, statutes, codes, rules, ordinances, acts, and executive orders, supreme court cases and even the congressional records, federal register, and archived documents in the basements of State capitols and law libraries, IT ALL comes down to the concepts of prevention vs. prosecution and punishment.

Study the bible from front to back and you will not find ANY laws or statues that instruct us to build jails and prisons and throw people in them as punishment. There are only 2 biblical penalties for a crime (violation of another’s rights) and that is retribution or execution. Man and man’s law has very slowly and cunningly turned a very simple thing into a very very VERY convoluted and extremely confusing thing in order to gain power, control, and massive profits.

How hard is it to understand that criminals (by definition) do NOT obey laws, and no matter HOW MANY we pass in the name of preventing bad things before they happen, it is no different than trying to prevent a brick from sinking by putting more water in the barrel. No matter how much water you put in a barrel, bricks are still going to sink, and no matter how many laws we pass to prevent criminals from doing bad things, they are still going to do bad things. Focus on punishment not prevention. Like it or not, we have NO Constitutionally protect “right” to be or feel “safe”. For thousands of years tyrants and dictators have played the masses like a fiddle based on this desire we have to be / feel safer. We end up with things like the TSA.

This is why Ben Franklin said that those who give up liberty for safety will soon have neither.

      THINK ABOUT IT!!!

I think this “campaign” by these “concerned moms” (yeah right!) on Facebook, is also definitely connected to this seemingly VERY well funded and organized, but compartmentalized, ongoing multi-channel attack on 2nd amendment supporters. So I went around Facebook a while ago to all the “fan pages” of all the major firearms manufactures, especially any who make AR’s and I posted the following. Not sure just what else to do but hope a few capable and concerned PRO 2nd amendment ladies / moms will pick up the idea and run with it. Here’s what I posted……

“So WHO wants to start up “Constitutional Moms For REAL Gun Sense”?? Because this level of historical ignorance and anti-2nd amendment hype, propaganda and flat out overly emotional drivel is about to make me puke!”

    https://www.facebook.com/MomsDemandAction

I also can NOT help wondering just who reported it as spam, but on about the 8th or 9th time I went to post it, I got a warning from Fb about someone reporting me for spam and that I could get banned. I ???GUESS??? one of the “Page admins.” could have not read it carefully and actually thought I was “promoting” MDA’s page, but I gotta think that all those popular pro gun fan pages have shills watching them constantly.

I love the sarcastic comments on banning “Pressure Cookers”, if we’re going to that we might well as ban Congress because that is biggest “pressuer cooker” on the planet, full hot air and always blowing unless steam!

We also need to ban and or regulate RC toys and such devices because that was clearly the firing device here, not a cell phone! The trigger could have been a repacked RC transmitter of some sort, think remote control garage door opener size for instance! Maybe even key fob size. That’s right regulate and confiscate all unregistered key fob RF transmitters!

The America haters have just begun to ramp up their rhetoric against the Bill of Rights and with that I submit this:

    Bill of Rights Blues
    (4/4 Country Beat)

My Doctor just called me today,
Their coming to take your guns away.
I have to inform you by law, he said with regret,
You’ve been deemed a viable threat!

Now I’ve got the Bill of Rights Blues,
I just got the bad news,
The political class is coming after my ass,
Now I’ve got the Bill of Rights Blues!

My banker just called me today
    We’re taking your account away
    We heard you’ve got guns
    Now we’re withholding your funds!

Now I’ve got the Bill of Rights Blues,
I just got the bad news,
The banking class is coming after my ass,
Now I’ve got the Bill of Rights Blues!

My lawyer just called me to say,
The court did not go my way,
They say I have real bad intent,
    So now I’m totally incompetent!

Now I’ve got the Bill of Rights Blues,
I just got the bad news,
The legal class is coming after my ass,
Now I’ve got the Bill of Rights Blues!

My bookie just called me to say
We’ve heard you got no guns
    And you’re out of funds,
So we’re coming to blow you away!

Now I’ve got the Bill of Rights Blues,
I just got the bad news,
The criminal class is coming after my ass,
Now I’ve got the Bill of Rights Blues!
Now I’ve got the Bill of Rights Blues!

But the acts of a few American crazies is enough to judge all AMERICANS who own a gun.

Here’s a thought. The black duffel bags or back packs were placed without suspicion? Marathon workers(nurses, physicians, medical personnel) carry black nylon medical bags. Just a thought. Who would question a marathon worker leaving a black bag?

I don’t recall seeing pressure cookers on the airline banned items list.
How about we all take a pressure cooker on the plane next time. Then watch the regulations and cavity searches begin.
I have had a hair up my butt on occasion but never tried a pressure cooker – but that wouldn’t stop them from looking. Sure hope they show up on the detector.

    • DaveGinOly April 17, 2013, 7:29 pm

Bill, I have long held that given a search warrant to look for elephants at a residential address, government agents will tear the place apart, and will search areas in which an elephant couldn’t possibly be hidden. They turn every search into a “fishing expedition” even when the particulars of the warrant are supposed to limit the search to the “places to be searched” and the “items” listed in the warrant.
Now, what you have to be worried about is an over-zealous government agent planting a pressure cooker up your butt. So be very vigilant for any such attempts.

  • Whyawannaknow April 17, 2013, 4:58 pm

About your statements regarding black powder : A lot of other low explosive mixtures produce massive clouds of white smoke.

Don’t be too quick to call it unless you can do forensic chemistry.

A while back, Australian “bikey” gangs used somewhat similar bombs made with powdered sugar and Sodium chlorate from weed killer to assassinate eachother. Any low explosive with a Potassium, Sodium or Barium salt for an oxidizer or an Aluminum or Magnesium as a fuel makes lots of white smoke.

I use and handle such things for a living. And the only thing I could say for sure just from the appearance of that explosion was that it WASN’T a military or industrial high explosive .

    • DaveGinOly April 17, 2013, 7:24 pm

If the perp used black powder, a question arises – did he use black powder because he’s an amateur and didn’t have access to anything more powerful, or did he use blackpowder because he’s a professional and knew that police bomb dogs are not trained to detect black powder? It could go either way, with the former suggesting “domestic,” and the latter suggesting “foreign/organized.”

Want to stop the sale of firearms and ammo? Just create a rumor that they will be taxes/stopped/or whatever and create a panic where everybody buys their limit and leaves the shelves empty.
As to New York, I’m sure all the criminals will beat a path to city hall to register their weapons. After all the Sullivan Law worked so wonderfully to keep guns in control.

Did anyone else hear during the first press confrence, a reporter in the background screaming “why were you telling people to stay calm, before the bombs even went off?” He screamed this question over and over again and it was clear he was being ignored. Maybe there’s nothing to this however I found this rather interesting.

    • Administrator April 17, 2013, 4:27 pm

You must be mistaken since there has still been no admission that there was any prior knowledge or disturbance prior to the explosions.

      • jo schmoe April 17, 2013, 4:46 pm

Definately not mistaken, the reporter was screaming this question at the top of his lungs this when the different govt agency’s were taking questions.. whether or not there is any merit to the question I don’t know. They could clearly hear him because I certainly had no problem hearing it on the television. He said and I quote ” why were you telling people to stay calm before the bombs went off” said this repededly. Than when they chose to not answer hisquestion he screamed something to the extent of.. this is a false flag operation.

This is why I went into gunsmithing. They may take my guns but they cannot take away my ability to make my own. Back to the topic, it makes me sick that they would do something like this to discredit responsible gun owners. I see lots of stuff recently on my facebook feed about anti gun stuff and most of the people who post it have never seen a gun much less fired one. I feel bad for the people in Boston but now is not the time to be pointing fingers.

Not saying this forum is doing anything wrong, don’t want to have any misunderstandings.

  • Hank April 17, 2013, 4:06 pm

The only thing needed for Evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. Or to do the wrong thing. We must remain vigilant and must take a stand in order to prevent the triumph of Evil.(You got to stand for something or you’ll fall for anything?!) It does not matter the implement used, it only depends on how it is used. And that is the crux of the problem. You cannot legislate morality and the morality (or lack thereof) is the problem. Basically the problem is people. Tolerance. Everyone preaches tolerance as a means of unity, and it CAN be, but it can also be a slow cooker to defeat. Remember the story of the frog and the boiling water? Put a frog into a pot of boiling water and he will jump right out. But put him in a pot of water and gradually turn up the heat until it boils and he will sit in it until he cooks. As a nurse in an Emergency Room, I see the day to day tragedies that occur on small scales that rarely make the local news, mush less the national news. The wide path to destruction is traveled by the substance abuse crowd with the “Empowerment Mentality” who think that Government is the answer to everything. Substance abuse takes many forms, not just alcohol, narcotics, etc. But all this is said to point out the commonality through all of these things. The care or concern only for oneself and one’s own wants, instead of for others. The Zombies are here! Non-productive members of society only focused on satisfying their own cravings, not caring who gets hurt in the process, as long as they can “feed”. Our governemnt has certainly fostered this for years and, as the saying goes, we have created the monster that will destroy us.

Now, if all this has sounded a little irrational, go back and read it again with a little more depth of thought. Frustration runs rampant in this country on both sides of any far reaching debate. We only need to pay attention to history, as so many previous posters have mentioned. Erode any one freedom or any part of the Constitution and you will invalidate it all. Administrator, I applaud your stance in defending your site and what goes on it. I am not yet decided on whether I totally agree with it, as I have just finished reading the most recent posts and have not yet given sufficient thought to it. But I encourage everyone to understand that knowledge is the best, first line of defence in any fight. Know your opponent, his way of thinking, his tactics for attacking you and you will be better prepared to put up an effective resistance when needed and a better offensive when possible. Intellectual sparring requires some intellect. I posted some time ago on a site (don’t remember now which one it was) and must have been really making good points and irritating one of the other posters with an opposing view as their posts finally degraded to making less than kind comments about my mother. Obviously I was winning the fight when it got to that point. I finally quit posting as it was obvious I was trying to have a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent. If you cannot defend yourself in an argument in an intelligent manner, better not to argue, as you will give your opponent reason to mock you.

I wish those that abuse their 1st amendment rights by falsifying facts of gun owners and their 2nd amendment rights would understand what rights really are. To them if they got their way the second amendment right to bare arms would be knocked down to privileges. Sort of like owning a car and a driving license. That’s a privilege not a right. There should be a clarification on that . Granted there is some validity for education and get some background checks to weed out the mentally ill . That’s a debate I am split on myself so not an easy one to talk about. But to knock down a Constitutional right to a privilege would open up a Pandora’s box where then the federal government or the powers to be can rewrite and nullify the rights that we Americans and that includes those that overly abuse the 1st Amendments have.

  • Bigmag47 April 17, 2013, 3:54 pm

I can certainly see the Boston bombings and the risin letters a part of the Obama administrations deceitful tactics, right along side “fast and furious” and Benghazi. It certainly wouldn`t surprise me one bit. Knowing their anti-gun legislation may be knocked out for another two years, what a better way to stoke the fire. If nothing else, to be able to declare a state of emergency and invoke martial law. Then, all it will take is the swipe of a pen to make our Constitution NULL and VOID! Let`s pray this is NOT what`s going on.

  • Rob April 17, 2013, 3:46 pm

I tried posting a minute ago, but it is not here. I don’t know if it was deleted or if it just didn’t go through in the first place. Here is my view:

I think this is a terrible new policy. If you don’t want to look stupid – don’t act like an idiot. The way we keep our rights isn’t just by agreeing with one another here, it’s by using logic and sound reasoning to explain to others our position — especially those who are against us. The argument is used time and time again that Hitler took away the public’s guns. You know what else he took away? Their ability to dissent. Anybody remember the book burnings? A few months ago, I didn’t know much about guns or the importance of the second amendment. I thought a high capacity magazine ban made a lot of sense. Then I listened to a lot of Piers Morgan interviews in addition to joining forums like this and reading/watching posts from the other side. I tried to understand all sides of the issue so I could make an educated decision about which side I was on. – That side is pro-2nd Amendment. By deleting anyone who has anti-gun thoughts all you are doing is cementing which side that person will be on in the future. Rather than calling people “lib-tards” and “sheeple” – consider using real world facts and history (there’s plenty out there that supports our position) to present your side – we don’t need to resort to ad hominem attacks. There is a big difference in the effectiveness of attacking an idea rather than a person.
    -Rob

Note: I am not a Bloomberg shill. I’m still waiting for him to respond to why it is okay for his bodyguards all carry weapons, but not the law abiding citizens who aren’t specifically protecting him.

    • Administrator April 17, 2013, 4:23 pm

Rob, the problem is that in today’s limited attention spans, you can have enormous influence put onto a group of people with comments that were written by a hired person specifically for the purpose of disinformation. If you look throughout history Rob, the 2nd Amendment is a pretty black and white discussion. When you disarm people they are slaughtered.

      • Clint April 18, 2013, 11:58 am

        Admin,

I feel like you failed to see the point & importance of Rob’s post. He was not Pro-2A. He didn’t understand what all the fuss was about… until he came here and to other blogs/forums like this & now he understands the importance of the fight. Now he’s in the fight with us. If you take away the ability for other all the other “Robs” out there to come here & engage in intelligent conversation, then you are only doing a disservice to the cause.

Of course there are going to be those with no intention of educating themselves on the matter & only wish to advance their “No Gun” stance & try to make us look stupid. It’s just going to happen. That being said, most of the 2A guys/gals on here are smart enough to spot those clowns. I’m not going to be swayed to the left by some vitreous troll. However, the “Robs” of the world may come a little closer to the right after being allowed to engage in good, health discourse here. Please don’t disallow that.

        ~Clint

  • DaveGinOly April 17, 2013, 3:34 pm

I’m not sure we have to worry so much about looking stupid and callous. The left is doing quite well on the “callous” part, as evidenced in this article on Salon:
    http://www.salon.com/2013/04/16/lets_hope_the_boston_marathon_bomber_is_a_white_american/

To which I posted the following comments:

Likewise, in the context of terrorist attacks, such privilege means white non-Islamic terrorists are typically portrayed not as representative of whole groups or ideologies, but as “lone wolf” threats to be dealt with as isolated law enforcement matters. Meanwhile, non-white or developing-world terrorism suspects are often reflexively portrayed as representative of larger conspiracies, ideologies and religions that must be dealt with as systemic threats…

The premise of this article is simply untrue. After many attacks, the left and the media have been very quick to blame the Tea Party/right wing/gun nuts/Christians before any evidence was available to support such conclusions (there have already been several high-profile accusations following the Boston bombing). When the perpetrator is identified as a white male, there is an immediate effort to link him to the groups mentioned above, again, even when evidence is lacking. On those occasions when the white perp is linked by evidence to a leftist cause (e.g., Floyd Lee Corkins), his ideology is suddenly of no interest to the MSM and it goes under-, if not un-, reported.

Again, if evidence does link a bomber to any of the above-mentioned causes, the left will use the link to denounce the cause in toto, even if there is no ideological basis for the bombing to be found in the cause (for instance, the NRA, GOA, and 2nd Amendment Foundation don’t advocate terror bombing). But it is true that some terror is ideologically promulgated (e.g., Islamofascist organizations do promote terror bombing), but the left will insist, hypocritically, that can’t be used to attach blame to all who adhere to the ideology.

    And:

Conservatives have blamed the left for politicizing the tragedy at Newtown in order to promote their long-standing anti-freedom, anti-gun, people control agenda; using a pile of dead innocents as a podium from which to pontificate. The left has denied this in this instance, and has denied using such tactics in the past.

But this article belies the denials. The author is quite clear that he is hoping for a particular type of perpetrator, linked to certain political ideologies to which he is opposed, for the purpose of using the link for political gain. In other words, he wishes to politicize the tragedy in Boston to promote a leftist agenda. This exposes the left’s modus operandi in this case, and others, for all to see. The left takes advantage of tragedy and uses fear as a political weapon. Does the right do the same? Yes, it does. But it’s time to knock the left off its high horse – it’s not a kinder, gentler political persuasion. It’s at least as nasty and as low as any other political ideology in this nation.

If you can’t look around you and connect the dots as to who is behind all the efforts to destroy the 2nd Amendmentment along with all the rest of the Constitution and our heritage itself, then you are wilfully blind to facts. It is, and always has been, the international Jews (Zionists) who are eternally in the vanguard of every revolutionary movement to disarm and enslave the American people and hand us over to their control in the name of One World Government by these “chosen” beings.

    • Administrator April 17, 2013, 3:16 pm

Ok, so just to be clear, it is “international Jews” and not just your garden variety local Jews?

    • W3BJ3D1 April 17, 2013, 8:31 pm

Have you heard of the JPFO? The JEWS FOR THE PROTECTION OF FIREARMS OWNERSHIP are one of the most hardcore 2nd Amendment groups in America. They’ve got a lot more balls than the NRA. Jews aren’t one big group that all believe the same thing. There are Jews all over the political, economic, and geographical maps. And Zionism is nothing more than the belief that Jews should have their own country – it’s got nothing to do with the rest of the World.

It seems you don’t know much about America. We get virtually all of our middle east intel from Israel. Israeli weapons defend our country. We all use Israeli technology everyday. Heck, Jewish money financed a huge part of the Revolutionary War!

Anyway, I’m Jewish, and I wish I knew who these Jews are that are controlling the World. I need a job.

      • Administrator April 17, 2013, 9:41 pm

Didn’t you get the memo? Apparently the problem is with “international Jews,” not local unemployed shmucks like you. These guys are very specific as to exactly which types of Jews are a problem.

        • W3BJ3D1 April 19, 2013, 12:52 am

          So… no job then? Damn!

Well, liberal Jews are voters, and we need to keep America the most powerful nation on Earth to prevent a supernationalist NWO takeover, so getting that voting bloc on our side is helpful to both preserving gun rights and American superiority. It’s certainly true that a high percentage of Jews are liberals, as are women, and Judaism is passed down through the female line. The result is that most Jewish males are mamma’s boys, i.e. pussies. A lot of people wonder how Jews, whose disarmament by Hitler led to the Holocaust, could support gun control, and my personal opinion is that they are just cowards who would be too scared to pick up a gun even if it meant their own lives.

לעולם לא עוד means “Never Again”, and I airbrush it on my rifles. I encourage anyone and everyone to copy and paste the below text into a Word document with big huge bold letters, print it out, and shove it any any left-wing Jew’s face. They’ll get the hint:

2nd Amendment = לעולם לא עוד

You would be better off with Shema Yisroel. Ultimately it is the next mitzva, not the next clever saying or someone’s opinion, that will get us out of this mess when Hashem sends Moshiach. Instead of showing them your cool gun get them to put on tfillin or light Shabbos candles. If the re-election of Obama, and subsequent SH and Boston fakeouts show us anything it is that the powers of man aren’t going to slow our progress down this inevitable road. Just do another mitzva and focus on the positive, and don’t shoot your ammo unless you know you can replace it lol.

  • ric April 17, 2013, 3:09 pm

I heard a report that smokeless gun powder was used, I couldn’t believe it. How does a second rate news caster know at that point what was used? Who is he to say at such an early stage? How is Alex Jones a turd? He clearly said from the start that it is possible the attack could be an actual act of terror committed by a radical with ties to the middle east or a domestic attack or a false flag. Look for the New York Times article pointing the finger at the FBI for that very thing, its there. Isn’t he allowed to have an opinion? If you were sitting in a room with him he wouldn’t call you a turd he would try to reach common ground. All he does is report on what is out there and tells you, Do the research for yourself. I find that many times the things he says are true. Until I herd him talk about WACO and went and did some research I believed they were a bunch nuts. If you go down the list of beliefs I think you will have to admit we agree with Alex Jones way more than say the FBI or The Federal Reserve or Monsanto, the list goes on and on. Don’t call him a turd for putting it all out there, that makes those loser Doomberg shills look successful.

There is far more at stake here than the 2nd amendment when you have the city of New Rochelle N.Y. forcing the local VFW to remove a Gadsden flag from display, then send a couple of goons over to confiscate it because a few liberal administrators were ‘offended’ by it. Our 1st amendment rights are clearly under attack as well by the progressives to silence all opposition. What’s next…book burnings?

  • ctcusick April 17, 2013, 3:02 pm

Filtering\censuring comments is a manageable solution to your site being bombarded with bogus entries. While I don’t like it, I understand it from an administrative position, and hope you open it back up later in the months or years to come. I encourage you to allow comments from reasonable ‘liberal’ types if they allow for dialog beneficial to both sides understanding and knowledge, etc.
While I would be considered liberal in most parts of the country, I love my guns, and discourage ‘gun control’ in favor of the human need of increased responsibility. As humans if we can not be increasingly responsible for our lives, we have little to achieve. Likewise, if we can not be increasingly responsible for the proper use of firearms because our government has over regulated them, we will have little to achieve in regards to those responsibilities. If that is not clear enough to understand, basically, I feel disallowing us to be responsible, will not allow us to be increasingly responsible, as some suggested gun control laws would have it. Its really that simple.

I believe this because I believe in ‘social’ regulation, in lieu of ‘legal’ regulation. I believe American firearm owners and enthusiasts have done an decent job socially regulating guns, and while we need to do better, it appears as though a national database is going to be pushed through. As a computer technologist, I am concerned about security and privacy of that database. Social regulation to me is when someone takes a stand against someone doing, or planning on doing something ignorant or horrible with a gun; and one cares enough to help that village idiot learn something new – whether that be about life, or proper gun use. When people stop caring, they stop socially regulating, and stupid laws get thrust upon us to keep things contained.
And by the way, ‘liberal’ thinking or politics is not the only way Americans become over regulated. Wars based on lies, and the severe meddling in other countries political affairs, are obvious examples of how we cause ourselves problems. If you are having problems with that, just utter ‘domestic warrant-less wiretapping’ the next time you are on the phone, or scream ‘fuck liberals’ the next time the TSA is groping you at the airport. 🙂

Food for thought, Why are the clowns in office trying to limit magazine size? Why are the clowns in office trying to disarm America? Why has home land security stocked up with 70 years of 40 cal ammo and invested in armored personal carriers? Why is the Gun control more important then getting the US out of the deficit they put us in? The answer is that they don’t want another war on American soil when they have to declare Marshall law when the dollar is dropped as world reserve currency. They have to have a way to control the American public. They think that cutting back on the military will help them out on the deficit, was tried and didn’t help during Clinton time. It did more harm to the private sector then it did good. It was stated by an official in china “To invade the US is suicide as every one there owns fire arms”. Seems they aren’t worried about our military but they are worried about the American people who are armed. Deal with the crazies here that kill for weapons and don’t deal with back ground checks, Leave the 2nd amendment alone and that will help to keep the worlds crazies out of our back yards. As to NY and their feel good laws they and Chicago have the toughest gun laws already with the highest amount of gun issues. As to Colorado and their feel good laws of magazine limits, the police here says they cant enforce them as no way to tell who has grand fathered magazines for those of us that already have them ( no I don’t own an ASSAULT WEAPON as by their definition but was used as one in WWII ) Yes I do own 30 Rd magazines for it and 17 round magazines for my pistol, But I don’t plan on using them for any thing but defense when this nation falls on its face due to our government clowns. Then you have them saying that women are now allowed on the front lines in combat but they aren’t able to handle a firearm in the private sector. Talk about being two faced!!! Just remember those that were against the 2nd amendment and make sure to vote them out of office the next election.

Its kinda like cigarettes… though not as popular as the late nineties and early 2000s. They sold it to those who didn’t smoke that the medical costs covered, due to smoking citiizens, justified their outrageous taxing. Which is abou to be raised again in LA. Why not sugar? I’m sure diabetes care costs incur significant amounts. I lost a family member to diabetes. Once you start amputations, it becomes time to refinance your home and liquidate ALL nonessential assets. I guess you could lay upon Uncle Sam’s leg, if you had no other means.

The taxing of cigarettes worked because only a minority smoke and you cannot say cigarettes aren’t harmful. People ( the majority/ nonsmokers)didn’t see it as a violation against civil rights. You can still do what is bad for your health but you are going to have to pay for it. Europe has been doing it for decades… I wonder what Uncle Sam used as a model for his own interests. If you were to tax…let’s say sugar, then it would affect the masses. Its not going to pass, think of all the products that use sugar as a biproduct. Holy Sheep Batman. The US would be in an instant UPROAR.

I’m sure this model sounds familiar to those who own firearms. Firearm owners are in greater numbers and must stay united. Slowly, but surely, Uncle Sam has become more and more bossy. I must admit that there must be some control. But once you begin infringement of civil liberties, why stop? More money and control would be sure to follow.
We, as citizens, have allowed this snowball turned avalanche to fall on us.We, as citizens, only plan for one life time (maybe two or three if you have children), its Uncle Sam’s job to plan for centuries. So, he doesnt have to be as radical as a citizen who only plans for a life time or two.

    Just food for thought…

There is a huge difference between thoughtful debate and someone whose intent it is to disrupt and cause conflict. Go to any organizations meeting and heckle the speaker, you will be evicted. This being a non-government forum, there is no reliance on the 1st Amendment. Nor is it feasible to operate this forum by consensus.

When I desire to debate the anti-gun crowd, I go to Yahoo or Facebook and get into some lively debates. I even won a few converts. When I can debate an anti-gun person face to face, I offer to take them to the range, In the past several years, eight previously anti-gun people, after getting over their personal fear of firearms, became gun owners.

If every gun owner took at least one anti-gun person to the range this year, we would not have to worry about losing our 2nd Amendment Rights!

Of that number approximately 20000 are self inflicted (suicides) add another 5000 for gang & drug violence do to failed government policies. What’s left is the innocent! I would be more concern about High Fructose Corn Syrup, Monsanto’s GMO’s, Alcoholism, Diabetes, Tobacco, prescribed Medication and Corporate America trying to get you hooked and that includes CNN, Fox, Bloomberg, Hannity, Limbaugh. They don’t care whether you live or die and what they shove down your throat. The blogs are fighting for hearts and minds to further their hidden political agenda. There are forces in America that want to disarm you so they can have complete control………. Could the explosive used be CORDITE (or Kordite)?

I saw this unfold Monday live on Fox News Channel, and many candid interviews were run unedited in the first hour or two. Many were from the Boston FOX channel News crew there to cover the race. Some were audio only, others were audio+video on the street.

One witness who was apparently very near one of the explosions ID’d himself as former US military.
He said he recognized the explosive smoke and the smell as distinctly like CORDITE (Kordite?) from the many explosions he had been around in Iraq/Afghanistan.

Maybe FOX can dig through their video files and find this interview to re-run on the News and/or turn the recording over to the FBI.

I haven’t heard that news clip since, but it stuck in my mind as significant, considering his stated Military experience. I would expect he knows what these various explosives look and smell like.

Paranoia strikes deep, into your heart it will creep. I’m not a Bloomberg schill, but have been accused of sounding like one. I’ve repeatedly warned that failure to get out in front of public sentiment on gun rights was going to cost us big time. Insistence on defending the Buck Rogers hardware hurts us all. My personal basis is for black powder arms and I’ve argued for good old Holy Black and it’s modern substitutes for civilian ammo since the Aurora Colorado slaughter. The problem with being on the wrong side of history is you end up being on the wrong side of the Law, and your best defenses get used against you. Uncompromising extreme positions and threats to fight to the death to keep para military weaponry, are likely to prove self-fulfilling. What has been going on for far too long, is not working; changes must & will be made. The only question is will it be change we can “live” with, or will it be a goofball 50 state patchwork, woven by fruit loop state legislatures ?

  • John W April 17, 2013, 2:11 pm

Within this group is one common interest, guns. There are certain groups and individuals who wish to disarm us. In the history of the world when a nation becomes unarmed they become servants to the government. Lets use our forum and our energy to inform those who are uninformed so that they might use better judgement at the polls when voting. Use facts and not temper when discussing gun control. Once you loose your temper you have lost control. Use the facts and no one can dispute the truth.

At least it’s pertinent to the article above… I’ll admit- I was fishing for a reaction.
I believe that dialogue is what makes the democratic experiment work. Not monologue.
It’s hard to remember- what with liberal media outlets spewing a monologue of liberal ideals, and Fox news spewing conservative rhetoric… it’s all preaching to the choir.
I just prefer thoughtful, empathetic dialogue, is all- and your decision to eliminate the dissenting voice, to me, smacks of cowardice and retreat from the dialogue.
If we, as gun owners, want to convince the anti-2nd masses that there is a good reason to preserve the amendment, it must be done rationally, and with great compassion for their point of view. Thoughtfulness and compassion do not equate to weakness or concession.
And I’ve never taken an anti-depressant in my life. So. There.

    • Jon April 17, 2013, 2:30 pm

I completely agree and tried to make a similar point. Apparently, when your a gun owner who supports the full bill of rights it makes you anti-gun and your post is treated as such. Very unfortunate…

    • D. H. April 17, 2013, 5:59 pm

Do you honestly think that a calm, rational discourse between US and the rabid gun-grabbers has an actual chance of changing even one of their minds? I think not.
These “Anti-Gunners” are agenda-driven people, and, it is next to impossible to have any kind of discussion with them because they haven’t figured out that their mouths cannot hear. The number one tactic of the agenda-driven seems to be: “If they disagree, shout. If they continue to disagree, shout louder.”
Thank you for removing the shills.

We all have the deepest sympathy for those affected by such senseless violence. Be it the tragedies in Boston, Newtown, Colorado or anywhere. Our society will never be ride of these types of attacks until our laws change, not on gun ownership but on criminal acts and the vastly watered down sentences given to those who commit these crimes. Pass laws that make it a mandatory 25 to life when a gun, knife, bomb or whatever in the act of a crime. No appeals do not pass go directly to the penitentiary with hard labor, not a country club life. This would also include the nut jobs (Adam Lanza’s) of the world we the tax payers should not be trying to fix these types. Put them all in the pen and let the herd cull the weak. I live in Phoenix and trust me nobody wants to go to Tent City under Sheriff Joe it is not pleasant at all. Jail should be tough, uncomfortable and a tool used to deter further criminal activity. My condolences to all those affected by all these tragic events.

Assault cookers operate at high pressures, in excess of 14 p.s.i. They can be held by the handgrip with one hand whilst the other hand can manipulate the weight in the top, causing the assault cooker, designed to bring down commerical aircraft, to spray a lethal jet of steam randomly out of a small hole over crowds of children and other people, disfiguring them for life.

I call for assault cookers to be limited to no more than 10 p.s.i and the hole in the lid should be welded shut. No hand grips should be permitted, so they cannot be sprayed from the hip, and black assault cookers should be banned by color as these are ugly and have no place in the nation’s kitchens.

Assault cookers should be registered, there should be a 14 day “Cooling off” period before purchase and after each use and there should be background checks on purchasers. No-one without a Government issued Cordon-Bleu certificate should be allowed to use one. These obvious common sense precautions are clearly necessary, as the National Association of Assault Cooker Users (NAACU) is intent waging all out war on our nation’s children.

There may be more to this situation than just liberals spewing misinformation. What if the government is involved, trying to identify pro-gun folks so they know who to target for firearm confiscation? DHS could be spying to see who the prospective “trouble makers” would be. Let’s face it, many patriots are challenging the Socialists in power. How many times a day to we see “Molon Labe” posted by someone opposed to more gun control? Some people are so bold that they look forward to the government trying to take their weapons. I read this type of quote several times a day. It is a terrible thing, to have such distrust of our leaders. I cannot recall any period in American history, since the Civil War, where so many people are literally “Up In Arms”. Thanks for keeping us informed. Although I strongly support the Constitution and everyone’s 1ST Amendment rights, I respect what you are doing. You do not owe these traitors anything. It is your site and I admire your stance.

The “Godfather” provides one excellent statement to live by – Keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer. Our country has been “dumbing” down our children for decades (public schools – civics, economics, etc). Now, it is time to disarm them by “spinning” the issues and even lying if needed. Those of us who remain dedicated to our country and her constitution must do so in a manner which is above the shills, liars, and hypocrites. An ethical man knows it is wrong to cheat but will do so anyway; a moral man won’t cheat. We must be moral in our response to the opposition. Threats, name calling and vulgar language does not promote our cause.

As an Oath Keeper, disabled vet and American citizen, I use the pen and vote to protect my (our) constitution. I stand ready should a fateful day ever come to follow in the footsteps of our founding fathers, even though I pray each day that time will never come. Until then, we must be able to discuss, debate and speak with conviction in a manner that will promote our stance in defending the freedoms we have. I comment on liberal blogs with conviction but without threats, vulgarity and slander. When they respond with that type of approach, it demonstrates the very ignorance, illogical thinking and lack of civility they have. I know I am but one individual, as each of us are and may have little impact by myself. When millions speak up in an intelligent, well versed manner, people begin to listen. That is why the NRA has had some success.

Each one of us need to speak up to our elected officials, even if they are clueless. We need to do so in a polite, factual manner. Honesty, facts and a polite approach will do much for our cause. We need to do so more than once. I write nearly everyday to some politician, even out of my voting area. We need to support politicians who respect and support our freedoms, even those outside of our voting precinct – “it’s not my representative casusing the problems” – so help unseat those who are the probelm! The current resident of the White House is there becasue that’s what their team did – got like minded people involved. Stop sitting on the sidelines and start using the first line of defense – our first amendment rights to speak up! Do it and do it often and do it far and wide!

  • Brett April 17, 2013, 1:15 pm

Most people in this forum seem to be reasonable minded people. I do not understand why you would stop at pressure cookers. Look at the Mayor of NYC. He understands that there are many dangers in life, salt, soda, fat, and not brushing your teeth. We need to register hammers, baseball bats, household cleaners, gasoline cans, etc. Also all these items need to be taxed to the highest extent possible and then some! Perhaps we should even consider banning all of these items.

When will people realize that there is evil in the world and no one will ever stop someone intent on doing evil?

“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it”

“Only the dead have seen the end of war.”

George Santayana (the second one too, it was not Plato)

  • Jerry April 17, 2013, 1:13 pm

As a former black powder shooter, it was my first inclination, seeing the voluminous white cloud. Easy to acquire, and when contained, as in a pressure cooker, a deadly apparatus, no doubt. How they will be able to spin that into gun control should be a lesson in 5th Ave. Wall Street advertising types, as they have convinced the younger crowds that 4 door cars are “sporty”….lol…so therefore guns are no longer “cool” except for cops and soldiers.

  • hikick1 April 17, 2013, 1:02 pm

They don’t deserve the focus and choice of words to describe their bias. It is only my opinion that the rebuttal was written in a running scared fashion. Hiding their comments only proves that we have something to hide. Ignore them and why bother commenting when they are intentionally inflammatory?

    Hello,

I am a happy member of GunsAmerica and want to thank GunsAmerica for creating awareness for all the law abiding gun owners of this country!

Let me start by saying this about myself and my family. Anyone posting B.S. on this board better beware because now I have joined and you will be held accountable for your left wing radical postings against law abiding gun owners of this country!

I have several family members connected at a very high level to Washington and the frauds in office. I have at least a dozen high profile lawyers and law firms that are tucked under my belt consisting of all family members reaching as far out as Texas near President Bush.

I have connections far above any law enforcement agency in this country and I have the power to rip your job out and stick you in the unemployment lines if you even think about stepping out of line with your false and deceptive comments on this board!

The blast in Boston, MA a few days ago was horrific! My prayers go out to all the victims and families especially to the family of the 8 year old boy. The facts are, people are getting sick and tired of the U.S. Government (the Obama Administration and the wannabe thugs in his office) trying to turn the United States in to a Communist Country. In response to this, you will have more crazy people coming out of the woodworks and nothing any police agency does will stop these events from happening until they change the Communist direction in which they, (the Obama Administration and his illegally hired Nat’cies) are pushing this county in.

As for the Governor in Connecticut along with the Mayor in New York, (Crazy Bloomberg) and many other state and local “wannabe” politicians, people like them need to be impeached or physically removed from office.

What I want to know is who paid for the parents of the children in Connecticut to fly to Washington on Air Force One and then be given another “free” ride on tax payer money home just so they could stand before congress like fools and try to get illegal and unconstitutional gun laws passed.

Let me tell you this, nothing, no laws, nothing could have or would have changed what happened in Connecticut that grave day. The fault of what happened is on the mother of kid that shot those young children. It is her and only her that should be the area of conversation. That mother knew her son had mental problems but yet she took him to firing ranges treating him like a normal person and then had the nerve to have guns in her home that were accessible to her mental child. It is her husband and her second son that should be held accountable for what happened, not the law abiding citizens of the United States! Both the father and brother knew the son was not stable but yet they refused to inform any law enforcement about the guns being kept in the mother’s home.

Her entire estate should be sold off and the proceeds be given to all the families that lost loved ones because of the mothers stupidity!

This entire gun battle is nothing more than the Politicians in the United States trying to disarm Law Abiding Americans, nothing more. The agenda is as plain as light; disarm America so when all hell breaks out, with over 300 Million people in the United States, the U.S. Government will not have a problem trying to control everyone.

The questions many need to ask is who spends over $200 Million to become “Mayer”, not Governor or President, but “Mayer” of a state? Yes, the “Wannabe” Bloomberg, so called Mayor of New York, that’s who! The question I have as a former fed is this, why did Bloomberg spend over $200 Million to take a job that only pays approx. $225,000 a year? I want to know what kick-backs Bloomberg is getting!

Why isn’t he being investigated, he has a motive and a plan and a radical left wing agenda, is this the reason no person has investigated him? Bloomberg is nobody but yet Politicians are afraid of him because of how much money he has! It doesn’t work like that, sorry Bloomberg!

This country is done! Until we impeach Mayor Bloomberg, the Governor of Connecticut along with the Obama Administration and remove these crazies from office, our country will continue to be under siege!

    • Richard April 17, 2013, 5:51 pm

You speak the truth…..I like that. I wish more people did!
You should seek out the documentary (agenda/grinding America down).
It’s 1 1/2 hours long, but it is full of the truth. I think you’ll like.
Hell you might have seen it already.

  • Steve M. April 17, 2013, 12:37 pm

Under normal circumstances, it is not a big deal to allow anti-gun Leftists to spew their ignorance and hatred on this and other blogs.

HOWEVER, I think that any rational person would agree that we are living in extraordinary times and that it was the right thing to do in disallowing blogging by Leftists shills. This is not censorship, folks. Censorship comes from the government. Gunsamerica.com is a private entity and therefore has the right to decide what gets printed in it’s pages.

To the owners of Gunsamerca.com: Kol haKavode lachem.

    • Administrator April 17, 2013, 12:40 pm

Oh wait till they start blaming the jews for the global debt collapse. Feinstein, Schumer, Bloomberg and Soros think they are too rich to be in the line of fire, but they’ll be dragged off with the rest of us.

    • Scotty April 17, 2013, 1:15 pm

I certainly hope this and other blogs will continue to allow pro-gun, pro-second amendment Leftists, like me, to contribute.

Yes, I am proud to say that I am a liberal Democrat. I also think I’ve got my head screwed on straight. That’s why I’m a member of the NRA. That’s why I believe that “We the People,” have rights, and we uphold them for and with each other. If the administration wants to cull the rants of the shills I’m okay with that here. They have plenty more avenues to post their screeds and vent their spleens out in the great world wide web. I want to protect their rights, too.

GunsAmerica, keep doing what you’re doing. Thank you.

      • Administrator April 17, 2013, 1:30 pm

You are probably more of a libertarian looking for a snazzier label Scotty. If you already have come to understand the reasons why we need the 2nd Amendment you are probably far too smart to ignore the history of socialism as it applies to the senseless slaughter of civilians. Obama and the extreme left supported a law in Chicago requiring abortion clinics to leave the crying babies from late term abortions lying on the trash heap to die rather than attempt to allow them a chance at life. I strongly doubt you would want such a requirement.

Damn, I must have missed the memo… explain to me again who a pro-forum needs “opposing voices”?

    • Les Center April 17, 2013, 12:26 pm

      That should read “why” a pro-gun forum…

      • Steve Kittel April 17, 2013, 2:06 pm

If you don’t have opposing voices, then it’s not a discussion and I would think make this forum no better than the opposing one. I truly believe that THAT is what the political powers that be want to happen…to keep people divided. That is why this country is so polarized. I am a veteran and strong 2nd Amendment supporter, but I don’t know everything and don’t shut my mind to others opinions or ideas…but the person should make a strong case, not just revert to name calling. Conspiracy theorists aren’t going away, especially in this day and age. Nor are the trolls who just like to stir up trouble on the forum and watch the flames fly. Use common sense and read/research things for yourself and make your own informed opinion.

        • Administrator April 17, 2013, 2:12 pm

  • RoseFlorida April 17, 2013, 12:13 pm

I myself posted a comment on a website saying that this Boston event would be twisted somehow by people with an agenda.
I gave as examples the potential for creating more impetus for gun control. I was criticized for not having any logical connection, but there does not need to be one, it is just the idea of using a crisis to advance one’s point of view. Soon after I heard some gun powder comments and though Oh No! here it comes.

The same technique was used in the previous crisis involving the Crazy Korean. Just about any discussion of the dangerous threats that were being made by the regime there was diverted into making a case for attacking Iran.

  • Neil April 17, 2013, 12:11 pm

You are 100% correct in identifying the recent “whistleblower” post as a propaganda fraud intended to be circulated among pro-2a folks in order that we all look like complete kooks. The same was true of the similar BS that circulated following the Sandy Hook tragedy. It made me sick to see Alex Jones fool my friends with his verbal sleight-of-hand whereby an hour-long video begins with the concrete conclusion that what was in reality a shotgun being removed from a trunk in police footage was actually a rifle. However, as evidenced by your above post, and comments you have made elsewhere, you too have fallen for one of the oldest myths perpetuated by the principal cabal seeking to abolish our Second Amendment rights: the notion that gun control is “racist,” as claimed by the phony damage-control front-group JPFO, established only to steer our attention away from where it belongs when names like Feinstein, Schumer, Metzenbaum, Bloomberg, and ADL spearhead every effort to disarm us.

    • Charles McDermott April 21, 2013, 9:59 pm

I hope your not saying by your last statement the all jews are liberal or want to do away with the 2nd amendment. Ever hear of Mark Levin or Mark Steyn or Bruce Hirshinson? They are as conservative as they come. JFPO is not a front group to steer peoples attention from the politicians you mentioned. Their collum appears in the Shotgun News. People of all faiths support the 2nd amendment. Let’s not lump all of one group into a label because some people with similar sounding names are jerks.

  • Robert April 17, 2013, 12:08 pm

Please stop being scared to confront what just might be the truth. I do not speak for or defend Alex Jones, but the history of this stuff is pretty clear. Why is it when all these bombing happen that there just happens to be bomb drills going on? Who really benefits from these kinds of actions besides those who what to expand the police state and take away our liberties? Eye witnesses said there were drills going on just like there were drills on the 7/7 London bombing and drills of planes being high jacked on 9/11. Satan is the master of deception and for every bite as good as our God is, Satan is that bad. Do you really think that a government that kills innocent people overseas with bombs and drones and then calls it “collateral damage” is above killing a few here in this country to get it’s politics on??? If so you keep living in that naive world and best of luck to you and your future. I don’t expect you to post this and in fact I don’t want you to. I am talking to you, the writer of this blog, man to man. Stop calling names and disrespecting legitimate opinions. Be glad to speak with you about it any time.

    • Administrator April 17, 2013, 12:26 pm

Nobody said that there isn’t suspicious things, going all the way back to the grassy knoll and the Oklahoma city bombing, but the 2nd Amendment cause is above all of them, and don’t need to be wound up in them by someone who just wants more traffic to his website.

      • Ira Aten April 17, 2013, 12:48 pm

I kind of doubt Alex Jones “…needs more traffic to his website”. The guy has listeners and website readers from all over the world. The 1000 pound gorilla in the room is the fact that the guy has been correct on just about every “conspiracy theory” he supposedly “engages” in. What he does is read statements printed in major news articles, and brings quotes (such as the recent one from an Austin City Council Member recorded telling a peaceful gun rights proponent to “save his sign” he made saying “no gun confiscation”, because he will soon need it.

First the Councilman said they were merely engaged in “common sense” gun proposals for Austin, and then the councilman is recorded by one of Jones’ reporters making the statement that “…after registration, we are coming for your guns.

So all Alex Jones is doing is reporting what he witnesses. That is what a journalist is supposed to do. If he uncovers or simply brings your attention to an actual conspiracy (such as Woodward and Bernstein did in the Watergate matter) that doesn’t make it “theory”. It just reports the conspiracy. That City councilman was making an admission that the anti-gun groups are conspiring to convince people that “nobody is wanting to confiscate your guns”, and is then recorded as saying “…We are then going to confiscate your guns, so hang on to that sign”. It ain’t theory if it is fact.

        • Administrator April 17, 2013, 12:52 pm

If Alex hadn’t done the foolish whitehouse.gov campaign to deport Piers Morgan it would be somewhat believable, but at the time our serious petition, which reached 57,000 signatures, should have been his focus. Alex does not have as much web traffic as GunsAmerica, and he wishes he did. That is why he jumped on the 2nd Amendment wagon. I doubt he was even a gun owner five years ago.

          • Lucas April 17, 2013, 2:34 pm

I feel like you, Administrator, are foolish for bashing Alex. I am not defending him for what he says or anything like that, but speculating that he wishes he had as much traffic as you or that he jumped on the band wagon or that he didn’t own a gun 5 years ago is tacky and childish. I like your website but if you feel you have to bash other 2nd Amendment supporters who do not believe exactly what you believe, then I must aim my attention to other places than GunsAmerican. I understand that this is a private business but like any other business, if you act like this, then I do my business else where.
Hope this is food for thought.

          • Administrator April 17, 2013, 2:41 pm

He dug is own grave with that stupid Piers Morgain shtick. A true defender of American freedom knows that you don’t joke around with attacks on the 2nd Amendment. They aren’t some speculative ideas like Bohemian Grove and the Bilderburgers. This is an open and obvious attack on the 2nd Amendment, and it should be met with a sober and committed force.

          • rberr April 17, 2013, 7:34 pm

you sound like a bloomberg shill actually

          • Cadillac811 April 17, 2013, 2:56 pm

Administrator, I must tell you that I too feel that Alex Jones has lost credibility latley. Going overboard on Piers Morgan was unforgivable. I like many here are concerned with our country and our Consitution. Liberals love using ridicule as a means to make us look uneducated and crazy. I did not appreciate Mr. Jones act and latley his headlines on his site have been a bit misleading. Let’s hope this all passes but I doubt it. Bloomberg & Co are financed by New York Citys “Miget mayor”. The have been using “straw buyers” for entrapment for years.

  • BB April 17, 2013, 12:07 pm

Censorship is foolish, it makes us look like we have something to hide. I know that shilling has been going on for a long time–there was pro-Iraq war shilling going on at ar15.com circa 2001-2003 during the Bush media campaign to invade Iraq. There is plenty of evidence that the same kind of shilling is going on right now with the attempt to abrogate our gun rights. Plenty of trolling takes place on both sides: Folks on gun boards head over to rile up Democratic Underground and see how fast they can get banned for speaking their minds over there.

The Bloomberg fascists know that people spend time on social media sites and so the propaganda has followed people there. Instead of of censorship, the answer is to embrace this challenge and expose the phonies who are being paid to deride core American values and are attempting to replace our core values with their own brand of coercive, destructive nonsense centered someplace around the absurd concept of group rights, which are not rights at all. Either the state deals with individuals or it is tyranny.

In a conversation, how strangers ‘feel’ and react to what I have to say is not my problem, nor is it my problem if I upset someone for exercising my 2nd Amendment rights. It is completely on them to deal with their mental issue about guns and to formulate a valid response, which they cannot do. What is happening here is that the guns issue is exposing just how many people in the US have mental deficiencies and who are small-minded and controlling. Those are all just coping strategies: Quite a large number of people are collectivists because being individuals and standing up for higher ideals is not something a dependent, mentally deficient person can do, and so they lash out at perceived strength in order to not have to face their own lack of character and fortitude. While I am sympathetic to their plight, I also recognize they got themselves there, and while I’d be glad to help them restore their self-sufficiency, they have to admit they have a problem first. Meanwhile, I will stand, bravely, against fascists and against collectivists. To do otherwise is to support the race to the bottom and accelerate the death spiral the US is in with regard to its economy, its civil discourse, and its fall from first world status.

I can see that the social media campaigns are doing their evil work because people truly do not understand why the US Senate would vote down gun control even though “90% of Americans support stricter background checks.” The truth is that the 90% number was a lie–those polls are cooked to the gills and even our Senators know it!

Second, the bill before the Senate includes a semi-auto ban, so one lie here is that this is only about background checks, which was designed to trick gun rights supporters into going along with ‘reasonable measures.’ There are no reasonable measures–they are working to repeal the 2nd Amendment. So background checks are just one lie of an entire slew of lies. All the Bloomberg leftist junta has is lies and the answer for thoughtful Americans is to expose those traitors and their lies day in and day out. Sunshine is the only cure for what we are fighting and supporters of real civil rights, especially the most important civil right–the right to keep and bear arms, are on the right side of history. The anti-rights faction is going to lose and they know it, which is why they are pushing so hard and pulling out every trick in their playbook of dirty, leftist tricks.

Lastly, I don’t really care whether I look stupid or ruthless because what I care about is protecting my civil rights. They will back you down by saying you are this or that, but if you back down, you lose–it’s a classic Brownshirt-type tactic. Stand for what you know is right and don’t let liars get away with installing another brutal fascist tyranny here.

    • Administrator April 17, 2013, 12:27 pm

It isn’t cencorship when someone is getting paid to post the comments. It’s called business, and we are in the business of protecting 2nd Amendment freedom.

      • Mark Davis April 17, 2013, 12:35 pm

If you want to see censorship of real opinions. Just go and comment on a liberal blog. You will be flagged as a violator. I have been flagged many times. I will continue to post on liberal sites. My reason is if I get through to just one of those brained washed liberals. It’s a start and it’s worth it.

        • Administrator April 17, 2013, 12:36 pm

You got that right jackson. No outside opinions are allowed on the liberal boards.

      • Clint April 17, 2013, 4:00 pm

First, let me say that I agree that there are a lot of trolls out there (paid or not) who’s only agenda is to paint us all to be ignorant, wacko, nut jobs. I also agree that there are probably some comments that should be deleted because they are not trying to add to the intelligent discourse & debate about the issue of violence (and whatever role guns play in it).

But, you stated “For that reason, we have ceased to allow any anti-gun comments on our articles”. That sounds like blanket censorship and would seem to erode what should be a healthy discussion about guns and our rights to own & use them. I don’t think you can assume that all who post “Anti-gun comments” are getting paid to do so. Some just see things differently & should be allowed, so long as they’re respectful, to engage in the debate. If it’s not a healthy discussion you’re seeking, you should just disable all comments to your posts. Who cares what anybody thinks if you’re just interested in putting your thoughts out there for others to read & either agree or disagree with?

        • Administrator April 17, 2013, 4:19 pm

It doesn’t matter who agrees when you are right.

          • Clint April 18, 2013, 11:33 am

Okay. You just made your blog one dimensional & boring. There’s no real benefit to that for me. I know, from your “I’m right so screw you” type of attitude, you won’t care, but you just lost a reader.

I’m a little bummed because, to date, I’ve typically enjoyed the blog & the discourse that followed. If objective counter points are no longer allowed, it’s ceased to be a discussion & that’s unfortunate…

            Take care,
            ~Clint

  • Cliff April 17, 2013, 12:06 pm

I applaud your decision not to post the anti-gun comments. I have suspected that many of them are not from people who actually own guns for self protection or even hunting. Here in Oklahoma we have a lot of gun enthusiasts and I get to associate with many of them. All of them are intelligent, thoughtful people that take their gun ownership seriously. We hear plenty of unchallenged falsehoods coming from the mouths of anti-gun politicians we don’t need to see them repeated here as belonging to a pro-gun person.

  • David April 17, 2013, 11:56 am

I have not heard any serious anti-gun talk related to the tragedy in Boston, and am very disheartened to see that you are going to impose censorship here on those whom you presume to be “Bloomberg shills” but are more likely simply opposing voices. This will become a zealot group then, only like-minded people who circle the wagons instead of proudly reasoning.

    • Administrator April 17, 2013, 11:58 am

Who said we aren’t zealots? If you don’t circle the wagons you’re a sitting duck. Why don’t you read what it says before commenting.

        Hahaha good one !!!

  • Bob April 17, 2013, 11:53 am

Using the same logic as anti-gun groups, I guess we can expect legislation to ban the sale of pressure cookers.

    • Administrator April 17, 2013, 11:59 am

First it would be the registration of said pressure cookers before they ban them.

      • Juan Motime April 17, 2013, 1:16 pm

Yep… gotta’ know where they are before you send your jack-boot thugs out to confiscate them.

and when all of the semi auto pressure cookers were gone ,all that were left were the single shot cookers ….., these liberals are nuts have we had enough of this yet , i smell a shill in the whole boston bombing deal

      • TScott April 17, 2013, 2:16 pm

I’ve been expecting the troll tactic for quite some time now. If I wanted to create a big stir that would make a position look bad, I would seriously consider using troll tactics to irritate folks in that position to the point they became angry and wrote things they would not normally post. Then all one has to do is collect the postings and present them to the uneducated to create an emotional response, much like the White House did by parading the poor parents of murdered children out to continue the emotional appeal for gun bans.

I believe debate is a good thing and there is much to learn by reasoned discussion. But this is not the current tactic of the anti-gun/anti-freedom groups before us. They only care to win because the end justifies the means. There is no intent to debate freedom; there is only intent to take it away. This applies to all freedom, not just the 2nd Amendment guarantee of access to firearms.

    • Doc April 17, 2013, 2:17 pm

I think this might want to be a time-limited ban. Here’s why: I taught at a college for many years, and always told my students that ignorance is not knowing, but stupid is not wanting to learn. We are ALL ignorant, but we don’t all have to be stupid. I also told them of an English 1a class I took where I learned that “If you can’t argue BOTH sides of an issue with the same passion and be persuasive, you don’t know what you are talking about”. And, I’ll cop to being a left leaning ‘liberal’, though far more libertarian than most – as if we REALLY had a two-party system with democrats and republicans.

Here’s the deal, — if we only talk to each other about the same things and with the same ideas, we all remain ignorant — we need to know what others are thinking. And they need to know what we are thinking. I THINK we all know that most ‘gun powder’ has traceable ‘tags’ in it that can be read with a high power microscope, and NO power ‘burns’ 100% and these ‘ID tags’ don’t burn. So a lot can be traced to a shop that sold it. Then you find out who bought that can of powder. And, yeah, the white smoke sure looked like black powder, but you can’t really tell, I mean grain elevators ‘explode’ and burn too. But I wander. I think that in the aftermath of Boston – maybe we DO need to watch what is posted, and to be certain Law Enforcement IS watching what is being said here — and everywhere — So, if we remain moderate in our speech, and if we take care not to fall into tirades things will be fine when this blows over. BUT -, and it IS a big step, make the ban time-sensitive – the MODERATOR(s) see(s) the postings, and can remove what he feels is inflammatory, and can slowly lift the ban — and Dave is right in his concussion “. . .THIS APPLIES TO ALL FREEDOMS. . . ” If we can’t have an open and frank discussion, then ‘they’ have won. It’s that argument about if a terrorist can make us tremble in fear, then ‘they’ HAVE won. If we fall into the same trap, then they HAVE won.

If we don’t have — or are allowed — a reasoned discussion with them, then we are ALL in trouble – hell I can talk to ANY of my neighbors and hear what I want to hear. But what’s the use in that? If we can’t hear the opposite side — they have won.

And I WANT to not be stupid — I want to learn from them — not ALL opposite points of views are ‘wrong’ – or are ‘anti-gun’. A lot is misinformed, but some dissent is necessary if for no other reason than to keep our minds learning – you can’t think about what you don’t know, and face it, NONE of us are right all of the time.

So – instead of arguing back and forth with myself here — I’ll just leave it there: yes there ARE shills, BFD. When THEY become the problem it IS a bfd. But remember, law enforcement is watching this board just as they watch all kinds of boards. THAT is far more scary to me than some shills making so much background noise that they in essence lock-up this board.

Let’s just remember that we WANT to learn — but sometimes my classroom WAS a benevolent dictatorship, and sometimes it wasn’t so benevolent — but it never stayed in ‘lock-down’ for long. So I am calling for a temporary lock-down here. TEMPORARY. There will be shills everywhere. It’s Big Brother who has me FAR more worried.

I live in CA and now they want 5 cents a bullet tax (fee?) AND to ban led from ALL ammo sold or used in-state. They aren’t taking away guns – and they aren’t taking away ammo — but 5 cents a round for 22 LR (or heck shorts!) – who could ever afford a brick of ammo? And no lead? Well we can still have ammo, but apparently it can’t be made without breaking EPA laws (and yeah, I DO support the EPA, a lot). So there you go — no detachable mags (even on bolts I’m told)(and I just thought of revolvers with removable cylinders, do THEY count too? I’d not be surprised! But don’t know.), 5 cents a round tax or fee, and no lead. But ammo is legal. Yeah, right.

I don’t hang out here much, but saw the e-mail and HAD to come to the defense of freedom of thought – and thus speech – and yeah I can throw anyone out of my house if I don’t like what they are saying, but then I’d not learn much would I? (And if I was ‘dissed’ enough, yeah, I’d ask them to leave, but again, I argue with myself because people will say in anonymous places like this things they’d NEVER say to you in person — I just have a gut feeling that sometimes things need to go to ‘lock down’ but folks don’t learn much if everyone says the same thing over and over to each other.)

My friends joke that I’m the ‘liberal with a gun’ — and they don’t know half of what I do — or have — because it’s simply not worth the trouble to explain why a person might need (or like) more than one firearm. So my final voice is TEMPERANCE and TEMPORARY.

Sorry it took this long to come to the point, I just have a lot of conflict, but then I don’t know what I’m talking about because I don’t hang out here and was not oppressed by 400+ posts that I don’t even know the content of, only the Moderator was not a happy camper, and announced the ban today in an e-mail I read – and had to chime in. when I DO come here, I do enjoy the back and forth banter. But it’s not my board. And I’ll leave it there – a possibly ‘stupid’ person speaking for sure, but I still have that freedom, even here I think. Even if stupid. And even if ignorant.

And please be nice, because in about to go completely out of my little mind because I live in stinking, liberal controlled, stupid damn COLORADO! I’m in agreement with Doc, we need to learn, learn exactly what they are planning to know our defense! “Know you enemy”!!! I’m an ex cop, retired Bail Bond Recovery Agent, and I for every hour I spent in the field, I spent four in the records department. In fact, me need to shrill them!! Fight Fire With Fire!! I’m so pissed at a large gun, owner association that I could puke! I was informed about two months before the, uhhh lady put our new constraints up four vote. I called, wrote, sought out state officials and they did nothing, not one ****ing thing…..until it was to late!!! Yes, I have proof! Like the Doc said, if we just comment spout off amongst out selves what good does it do? We need people inside Bloombergs Feindsteins bedroom! I do respect your decision, but disagree….with respect Steve H.

        • Doc April 17, 2013, 4:39 pm

First comes ‘tolerance’, it’s a first step. Then comes ‘acceptance’. Then comes ‘understanding’. It cuts both ways — I support the right of anyone to own ANY weapons system they can afford with a ban on biological, chemical, and nuclear. If you can afford an Abrams and $5K a round, go for it — use it safely, have fun, and make sure your background is ‘clear’. It took people a long time to ‘understand’ the problem of alcohol, and it took them a shorter time to ‘understand’ their first understanding was not really correct. We are in the first part of that analogy now (the anti-gun lobby). Hopefully, it won’t go all the way like ‘Prohibition’ went, and the mistake won’t need to be corrected.

I understand the need to control the content of this board, and support it. But I’ve seen other boards destroyed by totalitarian moderators (not saying you are, I’ve never seen it ‘locked down’ so have no idea) who once they take a stand, are almost forced to become more and more restrictive. I don’t want to see that happen here, so support the decision to limit discussion here. But for a time — and then slowly lift it. I don’t know the posts you are talking about – but when I’ve been here before I’ve found it reasonably balanced and enjoyable and I learned some good stuff.

I can only imagine what it looked like after Boston – I stayed out of all forums and facebook after Boston because I knew what would happen. And I guess it happened here too. And one thing you learn in the Navy is that when there’s a storm, you close the hatches. It’s common sense. But when the storm is over, opening them helps air out the ship (my first real station was on an old WWII DD before I ended up as a Corpsman in ‘Nam). And when taking fire you do EVERYTHING (and anything) you can to keep ‘them’ out. But then you stand up again and begin to breathe normally.

That’s all I’m saying. The word ‘Moderator’ comes from the same root as ‘moderate’. My guess is that folks were throwing gasoline on a fire. And that is seldom a good idea. It’s where things get far from moderate, and then the Moderator has to step in and take control. And only YOU know when the traffic through your site begins to lighten up enough to start the flow of ‘them’ again — That’s your pay-grade, not mine – but I WOULD do the same you are doing, but would also keep in mind that like-minded people talking together about the same thing all the time is not learning, it becomes reciting. When the storm is over, open the hatches!

Intolerance cuts both ways, and it’s wrong on both sides. Though it’s only common sense to batten the hatches during a storm and dog ALL hatches in a battle – but battles don’t last forever, nor do storms. Become draconian when it’s vital (from the root for ‘life’ — “from Latin vitalis “of or belonging to life”)– then when the life of the list is no longer in danger, lighten up. Take a breath. Feel the life return to the list. Anyone can like people who like them — the trick is to like those who don’t. (Jesus said that, I’d just change like to ‘understand’ or ‘accept’ or ‘tolerate’, it’s the same idea.)

So, yes I understand, and agree, but don’t like the idea of a ‘forever’ ban on different views, but also like the idea of, after an off-list warning , banning gas-throwers, but not fire-throwers ;-). It’s more work for you. I just own and support the ownership of firearms of nearly ANY kind I can imagine.

And, there IS a difference in views between the rural folks and the ‘city’ folks – rurals tend to be FAR more defensive about the right to own and use firearms and are often the most to be feared by the city folk. City folk are often FAR more vocal ANTI-firearm and can’t imagine why a person would need one. And the idea of ‘plinking’ with a .223 being ‘fun’ is beyond the scope of their wildest imagination. They can’t even tolerate the idea that shooting at something just to see if you can hit it, or ‘walking’ a can up and down a sandy dune in the middle of Nevada is a real test of skill as well as being — heck, just down-right FUN! It’s simply not in their mindset.

There was some TV show where some anti-gunner was going to live with a ‘gun nut’ for awhile. And the FIRST thing they had her shoot was a 12ga! — !!!!! — was that STUPID or what!?!? — give her a .22 or a nice .223, and let her see that there’s skill AND fun involved!!! — Don’t blow her shoulder off with the kick of a 12ga!!! That’s the way to make an anti-firearm person set their belief in concrete.

Same here — start off folks who don’t have a clue with something they can grasp without being blown out of the water. There are reasons beyond the 2d to own a firearm. The number and make of different calibers and operating systems for each platform proves the point. Self-defense is only ONE reason to own, and be familiar with your chosen calibers and systems and platforms. There are a lot of other reasons — as evidenced by this board on some of the good days I’ve been around.

I can understand why a suburbanite might not understand the passion some folks have for firearms — but it’s a right we have, and we just need to educate people that it’s not just all about ‘self-defense’ or a need to feel ‘powerful’ — I only know a few folks with that kind of complex — there’s a far larger world out there, and until they can understand that, it SHOULD be toleration on both sides — with respect on both sides. We don’t have to agree with them, nor they with us, and THEN it’s 2d time. Though there are often better ways to explain things to folks than to beat them over the head with the 2d over and over and over — no one gets any where like that – there are other ways to try to get them to at LEAST ‘tolerate’ the ownership of firearms. Until a city person lives rural, they might not EVER have a clue why firearms are necessary. Dial 911 and wait 40-90 minutes for a response? Or dial 911 while you are getting ready to dial Gauge-12 or 357.

So, yeah, toleration is a good thing. But when you are in a storm and you are in danger of losing life (here of the list)- you really ought to at least close the hatches. When the storm is over, open them up again and air things out. Only YOU know when that is. And, toleration IS a good thing if you can’t get beyond it — and if not — at least it preserves our right to keep the firearms we can afford to know how to use. It’s a two way street. IMHO.

          • JoeGo April 17, 2013, 7:48 pm

The only time I hear about tolerance is when it applies to gays, abortionists, I have never heard a group that did not own guns supportings those who do. I think you may be daydreaming with all that talk. Sorry to mess up your dream.

          • Will April 18, 2013, 6:54 pm

I only seem to hear about tolerance for the GBLT community and religions OTHER than Christianity. Funny thing is, I also hear some of the same people who demand this tolerance become very intolerant themselves when someone presents a view that disagrees with their own… very much like anti-gunners will welcome your conversation IF it agrees with their views, but if it doesn’t, watch out as a few will get indignant about it, others have their eyes glaze over in a comatose state until such speech is completed, and others on-line will just break out the ban-hammer as they delete your point of view.

Rlly? The guy writes a couple of fairly long messages effectively delineating his position and your response is to criticize his use of proper grammar on an informal forum rather than address the content or add to the discussion.

The purpose of language is communication, and either the ideas presented have some merit or they don’t.
Regardless of the education level of the source.

          • Doc April 17, 2013, 7:28 pm

I’d respond off-list if I knew how to do that, but to keep this short: I have a Learning Disability, and it involves Spelling among other things. Since I’ve retired on a medical (agent orange related), I’ve let my grammar slip and slide. When I had papers due, I had to finish them earlier and let them set, then proof them, and then have them corrected for grammatical errors — so I had to do more work in less time to keep up with the ‘average grad student’. It’s invalid to equate spelling or grammar or mathematical ability or short term memory or trouble with long-term memory or the inability to form complex, multi-stranded, bifurcated thoughts or about 20 other areas, with intelligence. But it can be a mistake to equate ‘education’ with ‘intelligence’ or ‘understanding’.

You simply felt the need for a personal attack when my ideas seemed divergent from yours. It’s OK. I’ve lived with it my entire life, and I don’t think it will change much in the future. But this is a forum for folks who want to own firearms without being hassled by others for doing so. And, I’m certain that there are many others here who share a Learning Disability with me — average or above in intelligence, but too far below an expected level of performance to be explained away as a ‘slow learner’. I spell at about a 5th grade level. I graduated graduate school spelling at about the 4.3 grade level (Call it November of the 4th grade). Go figure. Brain damage from mortars? Who knows? For some it is, for others it’s genetic, I’m one of those.

It’s very common for a person to focus on the unimportant part of how a person is presenting a concept if they don’t understand the ideas, or don’t agree with what is being said, so I’m just saying I’m used to it, try to focus on what I’m trying to say and try to keep your focus on the point(s) I’m trying to make.

Enough time on this. Let’s stay on topic. I don’t want to be one of those who don’t respond, and now I have, and think we need to stay on topic. The Administrator has said that the list will be ‘closed’ to a generalized ‘liberal’, when I think he meant trouble-makers, name callers, and gasoline throwers. I’m saying: I understand, but don’t keep it closed, we NEED to have an open, frank, and civilized dialog with those who don’t agree with us. But, in a storm, close the doors and shut the windows! Try to stay out of the rain! — it’s not ‘right’ to exclude others, but sometimes it’s necessary for a time so the list does not blow-up in pointless squabbles and rumor-mongering. The end.

@Doc, quote ” I also told them of an English 1a class I took where I learned that “If you can’t argue BOTH sides of an issue with the same passion and be persuasive, you don’t know what you are talking about”. And, I’ll cop to being a left leaning ‘liberal”

You better be careful learning the conservative philosophy too well. There was a big time liberal Hollywood screenwriter, director, producer,Pulitzer Prize winning playwright named David Mamet, who’s Rabi gave him the same instructions and told him if he wants to debate conservatives properly then he needs to know and fully understand their argument, and be able to say OK so you believe this, this and that because of this that and whatnot. So like a good Jew he did exactly as the Rabi instructed and learned exactly what they believed and why they believe it, and why the left is wrong. Well after doing this he actually became a Jewish Hollywood conservative. The unsurprising part is the liberals who thought was he so amazing and gifted now have reevaluated him and determined he was never really all that great or that maybe he was but his talent has mysteriously disappeared and magically left his body.

Light shines from many lamps – just like truth, with an open mind you can find light (truth) in many MANY unexpected places. I know Admin is right because in my searching for a ‘right view’, I’ve often found the light casting shadow on many of those I once held as ‘true’. I’m a very good very partial example of exactly what Admin is saying. Partial because I still call myself a liberal in many ways and support many liberal causes, but am not a parrot for either the right or left, though the Libertarians are large enough to hold multiple view points with comfort, while the mono-cratic system we think is real is simply an illusion. Repubican-Democrat – there really isn’t much of a difference when you get down to who has whose hand in whose pocket. Admin is right. If you really ARE looking for truth and not validation, you can learn a lot — even that you can be wrong. And to rephrase: when I am looking for truth and not validation I can learn a lot – even that I can be wrong. — It’s where we ALL should be on our life’s path – because things change. Like your 8 hour day, sick days, holidays, a break every few hours, overtime, social security, medicare? Thank a democrat. Like debt, crumbling infrastructure, outsourcing jobs equal pay for equal work, gutting veterans benefits, glass ceilings, and limits on guns — thank a democrat. — see what I mean? we need to learn how to learn, and know that how we think of things at 20 is not how we think at 30, and 30 is different than 40, which is different than 60 – if you are the same now as you were when you were 20 (and your are 30 or older – without a single change, I’d say you are stagnant and need to get out and see more, read more, think more– things get complicated to the point that Occam’s Razor doesn’t always work. But it can separate a lot of the grain from the chaff. So I call myself a liberal — but YOU define it differently than I do. I am not a single issue person, nor should anyone be. Well, this seems to have blown over very well so far. I think we all owe Admin some of our thanks for keeping things, well, on an even keel. Thanks Admin! (but let’s keep it in lock down only for a bit — and only you know how long that is. Like you say, this is your private living room filled with a lot of anonymous people. I’d ask everyone to leave! LOL!!!! Seriously, thanks, and I’m glad I was 10-7 (out of service/off air) for a few days after Boston.

I don’t like the idea of not allowing comments that “we” don’t like.
We want to defend the 2nd amendment but then trash the 1st.
Not the way to go in my opinion.

If we can’t see through and deal with shills it does not speak too well for our pushing “freedoms”

    • Administrator April 17, 2013, 11:53 am

When someone is paid to post something it isn’t an opinion, and it has nothing to do with the 1st Amendment. This is also a private business and not some kind of democracy so we can do whatever the hell we want sweety, at least for now.

      • Seenya April 17, 2013, 12:47 pm

Exactly. The 1st Amendment pertains to GOVERNMENT retribution for speech. It has nothing to do with private persons or businesses. If someone says something in my house that I don’t like, it’s either shut up or hit the road.

        • JW April 17, 2013, 1:25 pm

exactly. folks need to understand that free speech does not apply to everything in everyday life. any forum administrator can delete a post if it does not comply to the forum rules, etc. I knew it was a matter of time before the conservative left was targeted in this attack.

However, I hope that all of us commit ourselves to continue to debate those with whom we disagree in a respectful way in other forums, including with family & friends. If you don’t change someone’s mind, you can at least hone your debating skills & better understand your own position by actually having debates with not simply ‘the choir’.

I agree that as a private company, you can limit what is said on your site, but still looks kinda one sided..I get jumped a lot for my posts on huff post, and many times, my comments just don’t seem to show up. it seems that those that yell the loudest about gun control have no idea which end of a gun they should point downrange…

    • Will April 17, 2013, 9:32 pm

As a private site, they can do whatever they like.

I understand the need to NOT delete anti-2A posts as they tend to immediately do themselves with pro-2A posts, but at the same time I understand the need to delete dangerous or illegal content (with IP bans if necessary.) Unfortunately the left will stop at nothing to convince the world gun owners and their supporters are evil and dangerous as much as there are those who would take those who support The Constitution and convince the world they are anti-government. One thing this “whistle-blower” type stuff has in common is vagueness and an intention to incite a not so well thought out reaction, which is why it is dangerous.

  • Doreen April 17, 2013, 11:22 am

The tragedy in Boston is very sad, but sadder is that the media will focus on the gun nuts, not the many that believe a firearm is a tool for many uses. As a female I get my share of stupidity from gun store people and folks at the range.

    • Scotty April 17, 2013, 12:57 pm

Hang in there, Doreen. Not all of us men-folk are ignorant, unenlightened, patronizing slobs.

After each of the recent acts of depraved indifference to human existence I could only sigh, shake my head, pray for the dead and their family/friends, and promise to not contribute to the insanity that’s become more and more prevalent in our society. I do my best to live and speak of tolerance and justice, not hate and revenge. Sadness and anger cannot be supplanted by rage and resentment. I can’t help but keep repeating that WWII British phrase, “Keep calm and carry on!” after each and every attack and political response that follows. Don’t get me wrong, I communicate my feelings on these matters with my Congressional delegations and offer rebuttals to the “ban everything!” crowd.

I only wish we didn’t have to keep constantly fighting to preserve and defend our rights each and every single day. If only the Feinsteins and the Schumers would really understand that our rights are INALIENABLE, and cannot be given way. Just my 2 cents-worth.

      • Bill April 17, 2013, 2:19 pm

Scotty, I can’t say Thank You enough! The mainstream media and gun-grabbers are taking our freedoms. We DO need to ban the idiots. The only way I know to do that is VOTE THEM ALL OUT OF OFFICE! Back in the early 1930’s, a little known, obscure politician named Adolf Hitler came up with the same idea and look what happened there. Are we going to allow this to happen to us? I am NOT, and hope that there are millions more that will stand shoulder-to-shoulder with me and the rest of us gun-toting good guys.

        • David April 17, 2013, 6:55 pm

Bill, have you also heard it said that if every man in Germany had a Mauser, 20 rounds of ammunition and the willingness to use it, that Hitler would merely be an interesting side note in the history books?

          • Austin April 18, 2013, 8:35 pm

The version that I heard wasn’t even every man, but one rifle for each Jewish household in Nazi Germany. How much more so would the Third Reich have failed had EVERY man who opposed Hitler been armed!

        • Israel Cordero April 22, 2013, 3:24 pm

I’ll be there! In the trenches, or in a court to fight in anyway needed to stop this violation of all Americans. Just food for thought, the british called Washington a terrorist, but to call any American foolish for their beliefs, is in itself foolish, cus it can be misconstrued as trying to impose our thought in otheres, by any means necessary. Most people today r just lost on how this great Nation was formed, and what it took to get here, and dont understand that our founding father knew that TYRANNY could come in many forms. Most of the masses would say that times r different, and things that were needed then arent needed now. The only way to change that is to TEACH those masses that, Americans have always fought, and never just took what they were told to do sitting down. That times r different can not be argued, so therefor the way we fight must be different, but different doesnt mean divided. We need to use the same methods they do to spread fear an unfounded lies about true Americans. We need to use social media as thy do. We need to let them know that most of the men and women in our armed forces, dont fight for just their families, but for all American families, and would expect no less in return. So that a fight is needed is undeniable. But we didnt beat the british or the the japanese or the germans that in each conflict we were out numbered in one way or another, by some form or another given more man, weapons, ammo, technology and so on. In most of our conflicts we’ve been the underdog but its r will to stand United against all odds that makes us WHO we are. Should we do any less. Can we afford to. Just my thoughts from one GOOD GUN TOOTING AMERICAN TO ANOTHER.

            Israel,
You hit the nail on the head there. We need to fight in the media, the way that gun grabbers do. The difference is that they have millions of dollars to pay for it, and the media is on their side. We need our own media.

      • Lasher April 17, 2013, 2:53 pm

        Scotty:
Have you ever noticed that most of the politicians who are determined to destroy the 2nd Amendment along with all the others are jewish? It strikes me as peculiar that this is so. In fact, these people , jews, seem to always be in on every activity that leads to the degeneration of our culture and heritage. Keep your eyes open for signs of this information and you will find that I am correct, as in this example of Schumer and Feinstein. It is really weird when you think about it.

        • Administrator April 17, 2013, 2:56 pm

Well Biden and Obama actually only go to bar mitzvahs for the free food, killer music and hot to trot women. I don’t think that puts them in the tribe.

          • Administrator April 17, 2013, 4:25 pm

Well it was Jews who started the Russian Revolution too. You think they’d learn about communist principles as well. Feinstein, Bloomberg and Schumer are race traitors, plain and simple.

          • JoeGo April 17, 2013, 7:35 pm

We need more Jews like the Bielski Brothers. They knew how to kick butt.

        • Byron April 17, 2013, 4:01 pm

Thanks Lasher for your Anti-semetic statements. Sorry to inform you that it has nothing to do with the fact the people you mentioned are Jewish. These people are just leftist who happen to be Jewish. They are normally very secular and far left minded. I myself is Jewish, believe in G-d, very pro-gun and believe in less government. I served in the Armed Forces when I was younger. I know many other Jews who believe the same as me. Please continue with your Ant-semetic statements so you can be recognized who you really are.

          • Administrator April 17, 2013, 4:18 pm

But don’t deny that whenever you have a socialist agenda, there are nearly always Jew involved. They don’t understand that we can’t have a true utopia without God sending us Moshiach. Because they shun God’s Divine Commandments, they think humans can bring about a utopia that can’t exist until the negative inclination in man is banished forever. The will only come when the Holy Temple in Jerusalem is built and King Moshiach is crowned.

          • Nick Wilson April 17, 2013, 5:16 pm

I believe history, like the rise of Hitler, focused upon the degradation of the Jewish religion and it’s people. Anti-Semetic posts like the one above further show how “some hidden agenda” is used to incite division in America, and between our neighbors and those of other races or religions. I find it quite disgusting to think that this agenda has spread to the gun debate, and the deaths of innocents. More blood has been spilt in the name of G-d than for any other cause in history. Because the name of G-d is so important, so sacred and so misused I will not type it into the web as it a name that requires more respect than most people understand or can honor.

Israel and the Jewish people deserve a place of honor among all the current world religions that use their prophets and their Torah as a basis of their religion, no matter how perverted the religion has become that was born from the basic tenants of Judaism, (that includes both Christians and Muslims). This is over 2000 years of war, bloodshed and slaughter over the name of G-d or the prophet who is used to stand before G-d as your only way to reach heaven whether you put Christ or Muhammad as the gatekeeper, there is one G-d. Remove the “idols” who have been placed before G-d and you have one G-d who nations and peoples who all agree on G-d except his name and how to worship.

Israel is one of the best examples of gun control by ownership, responsibility and is a nation who are all trained to defend themselves. There are fully automatic Uzis in almost every home, yet there is little to no murders between the people unless they are forced to defend their nation or their family. Americans need to learn the lessons found in Israel in the training of it’s people, their service to their country and their honorable right to protect themselves. To pervert the gun issue in America it is easy to pass the buck and point fingers. I was not born into a Jewish home, nor raised by their particular fashion of how they choose to worship, but I have a deep respect for how they have not sold out to the pressures of others who would blame them for any or all misdeeds in the world. I see it as the other way, those whom oppress Jews are out for their own agenda because of the dogma of their own beliefs. As far as I can tell; Marx, Lenin, Hitler, Napoleon, Stalin, Saddam, Castro, Obama, Biden, Ceaser and other tyrants throughout history are not Jews.

Blame the poor, blame the white, blame the colored, blame the rich… We can only blame ourselves in this game of follow the leader. I would like to thank the Nobel academy for giving Obama a prize for peace, (where I don’t know), as he has caused so much division and strife between Americans. I guess this is the shape of the “New World Order” Biden speaks of so flippantly. I will remain an American, for America, by America till death do we part. I didn’t know we were supposed to throw the constitution, people and their guns into the “Melting Pot.”

Does anyone remember that Jesus is a Jew? We claim to honor God but we don’t take the time to get to Know Him and His Son. George Washington took the time and so did Sam Adams.

I think it is time to return to our country’s roots. God first, Family, then country. Man without God does evil. Strong, God fearing families are the stones our nation was built on and without which we will constantly be creating liberals. These are the roots of America.

            Time to do it again.

Correction: I meant JOHN Adams in the above post rather than Sam Adams. Though, Samuel Adams was raised a Puritan and was proud of his Puritan heritage.

          • Mikelasnicov April 18, 2013, 1:47 pm

Byron, I don’t think Lasher’s statement means he hates Jews. My wife is Jewish, she had a Bat Mitzvah and everything and so is her entire family. My wife is also a liberal and so is her entire extended family, with the exception of maybe one. I know for a fact and my wife also readily admits that the overwhelming majority of Jewish people, at least in America are very liberal, socialist people. To state the obvious does not make somebody anti Semitic.

Just because you and some other Jewish people you know are conservative does not change the fact that most Jewish people in America are very leftist, anti 2nd amendment. It doesn’t make them bad people, it just makes them misguided and it’s just part of their culture, we all try to indoctrinate our children to have the same beliefs as us. I do think there are probably more conservative Jews than the liberals would care to admit. But unfortunately the percentages of Jews like you are still much lower than we would like. I do sometimes tell my wife that she is not nearly as liberal as she would like to believe and she has even sheepishly admitted it. I have been trying to influence her into moving towards the right as much as possible. but these things take time. She is just in a demographic that does tend to be very liberal. For instance she is a female, highly educated college professor, classical musician and Jewish. It’s really amazing that she’s as moderate as she is and I think I may be slowly moving her towards the right. Her cousins on the other hand are outright commies.

          • Administrator April 18, 2013, 2:26 pm

The difference isn’t a bat mitzva. Secular Jews have bat mitzvas too, but they are not in any way religious, and they are generally left wing and anti-guns, because, as I have already explained, they think that government and humanity can create a utopia, when in fact it is only God who can do that by sending the king of kings, Moshiach, more commonly called the Messiah. In the Messianic era there will be peace among men, swords into plowshares, lions with lambs, you know the story. In the heart of every Jew is a yearning for Moshiach and this era of complete awareness of the Creator. But they fool themselves into thinking that it can happen by man alone, and it has led to some big problems, not the least of which is what is happening in American right now. Hopefully Moshaich will come soon and resolve the issue for all of us.

          • american2american April 29, 2013, 2:10 am

Byron, I didn’t take it as anti semetic. I took it as an observation. It might have been worded in a way that you would not have taken it so either but it is what it is. That Jewish Americans overall, not all of them, but a large percentage of their population, want more gun control. I am a supporter of Jews for the Preservation of Firearm Ownership, so I realize this is not all Jewish people but I just don’t think he meant it anti semetic. I think you are over reacting and maybe even playing the victim card.

        • JLfromNH April 17, 2013, 4:01 pm

Ever notice how many of the stereotypical “gun nuts” that make the rest of us look bad are anti-Semites?

          • Administrator April 17, 2013, 4:14 pm

Yea, Jew haters are just part of the puzzle. This is America. Everyone isn’t supposed to agree. The point is that we have guns to keep one government from deciding that only one opinion is correct, at the peril of death.

          • 1ooway April 18, 2013, 9:49 am

If a person makes a negative remark or even a nasty remark about Israel, which is to say the Israeli government; Is that considered as being anti semitic ? I never thought so

          • Administrator April 18, 2013, 1:13 pm

Well technically the semetic races includes the Arabs So you could love israel and hate Arabs and still be anti Semitic.

        • CuthbertJTwillie April 19, 2013, 3:34 pm

Yes, I’ve noticed that little ‘oddity’ too.

And Mikey Bloomberg sure doesn’t help that image of them from looking like nothing but anti-freedom and basically, anti American. Babs ‘Call Me Senator’ Boxer — born Barbara Levy in Brooklyn, New York — is another rabid gun-grabbing Jewish pol. Then add in the fine mayor of Murder City USA (aka; Chicago, and Chi-Raq), Rahm Israel Emanuel (aka; Tiny Dancer) and as they say in ice hockey, ‘You’ve got a Hat Trick’. Coincidently (/s) Rahm’s lead gun-grabbing lackey in the IL State Senate just happens to be another one; Ira I. Silverstein (this guy is so nutz the real boss of IL, Speaker Mike Madigan, mostly ignores him).

But if you mention any of this publicaly you immediately get called an Anti Semite. It’s like a repeat of History with all the Jewish ‘Americans’ who were card carrying Communists back in the 1930’s to 60’s. The ‘Anti Semite’ smear campaign was the real reason that the HUAC Hearings were shut down in congress and FBI told to back off from the Jewish-Communist connections. it’s also why Sen. Joe McCarthy was personally destroyed by ‘special interests’.

But I don’t care anymore. Let ‘them’ call me anything they want, that dog don’t hunt. It’s just like being called a racist today, whoop-dee-doo

          • Rick April 19, 2013, 4:50 pm

I would like to ask any jewish people what have the Democrats ever done for them to get your vote, The left wing nut love the Arabs and dont care if they kill jews, and think Israel should not even fight back, they think that the Jews cause all the problems in the middle east, but the Republicans have always stood arm and arm with Israel, not one Jewish person should ever vote for any Democrat ever, voting for a Democrat is like voting for Hitler, it makes no sense to me, please help me understand.

            Thank You

        • american2american April 29, 2013, 12:51 am

Lasher, yes, it is odd that a Jewish person who has likely family/loved ones who have suffered the holocaust, are the most ardent supporters of the very laws that provided their murderers the ability to carry it out. Our laws are a translated version of Hitler’s “Nazi Weapons Manual.” Thank the late Senator Thomas J. Dodd for this, he brought it back, had the L. of Cong. translate it in 1968. Then came the GCA68 (gun control act of 1968) targeting the favorite of minorities/civil rights protesters they banned the Saturday Night Special. Gun control is planning for genocide. Without exception, I believe it leads to just that eventually.

          • american2american April 29, 2013, 12:53 am

Scotty, You are right on, at more than three quarters of a hundred I shake my head and wonder if the population is as dumb as they appear. Then I think, “no hang in there you old fool” There are other oath takers that will help turn things around once they get fed up. It’s what each of us felt in our hearts and minds. We love this country and no one is going to take it away from us, foreign or domestic.
And that’s a fact ! So i will continue to walk softly and carry a big stick. “Loose lips sink ships”

I believe it was Thomas Jefferson who gave this answer to a question “It’s a republic if you can keep it .”
Also something about that we would need to have a revolution every 20 years. Because he knew the constitution and it’s Bill of Rights was going to become trashed in that amount of time.

        • Eric April 19, 2013, 1:09 am

Sorry 1ooway, it was Ben Franklin who said that. And I think it was Mao Zedong who talked about continual revolution. What we have are Elections, unfortunately they are useless today…

        Scotty,
They attack constantly so that we will run out of money, patience and resilience and then they will win. The gun grabbers are fighting a siege war, just waiting for us to break down or public favor rests with their cause more than ours. Then they will have won many legislative measures and we will be disarmed.

    • Frank April 17, 2013, 3:19 pm

Doreen, I taught my daughters to shoot at ages 7and 8 , I also taught my wife to shoot when we got married. My wife is a better shot than myself. My youngest is also a better shot. Some men are just threaten when a woman has a gun. I would love to shot with you, stay the course

      • Frank April 17, 2013, 3:21 pm

        Shoot with you sorry

    • reddog April 17, 2013, 6:35 pm

As a guy, Doreen, I can tell you that most men, including me, are stupid 🙂 And I have to say that, I spent 26 years in the Army and I swear that the best shot I ever witnessed was from a woman shooter who could make most snipers take extra practice. The government media is always going to go after 2nd ammendment people as the cause of everything. They have no facts to back up any argument but they know that if someone says a lie enough times, on TV or the internet, it begins to have a life and credibility of it’s own. Very sad. We have, in practical terms, already lost control of our government. Now the only question is are there enough of us left to take it back.

    • Bruce April 18, 2013, 10:37 am

I read this in a Fox news article (http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/04/17/fbi-boston-police-say-range-suspects-motives-remains-wide-open/) and thought it very odd that this was attributed to someone “who identified himself as” rather than just siting the witness’ name as were all other witness statements:

Somebody’s leg flew by my head,” a spectator, who gave his name as John Ross, told the Boston Herald. “I gave my belt to stop the blood.”

We need to ban pressure cookers, it is that simple. Oh where is Di Fi on this, we need our liberal leftist to save us all.

    • easyrj April 17, 2013, 12:35 pm

How about if the Libs register each and every pressure cooker. Then tax everyone who owns one. Then there’s the background check when buying one. Put a tax on carrots and peas and anything else that goes in one!

      • john April 17, 2013, 1:06 pm

lets make this really simple ,ban moronic liberals , ,the heck with banning pressure cookers they are a tool , unlike libs who are to the commies are ” useful idiots”

john: I disagree… the “libs,” as you call them, are ALSO “tools.” Libs are just BIGGER tools.

      • Greg April 21, 2013, 3:32 pm

I am happy to see I am not the only person who believes there should be a ban on pressure cookers. Or at the very least putting a serial number on each and then mandating they be registered with instant background checks. When people look at you at say you are crazy simply explain it is as crazy as the push to ban guns. Remind them the Constitution grants us the right to own a gun. Ownership of a pressure cooker is a privilege. Regretfully this would enforce the idea gun owners are radical as the blog above warns us and wouldn’t help the fight. I did mention this idea at work when a few co-workers couldn’t understand why Obama’s legislation didn’t pass this week.

        • american2american April 29, 2013, 12:37 am

The second amendment doesn’t grant us the right to own guns. That right existed long before the Constitution, even in ancient times a Free man had the right and the means to defend himself. Only slaves are not allowed to own a firearm or the weapons to defend of the time. The second amendment, protects that right and now that it has been incrementally weakened, we are witnessing an attempt to make us subjects rather than citizens. Free men own firearms.

    • Anthony April 17, 2013, 2:05 pm

Well, we can’t take the rights away of good honest law abiding citizens.
So instead of outlawing the sale or manufacture of said pressure cookers, we will limit the size to 10 oz.
That way if someone buys one and use it for anything other than its intended use, it won’t have such large impact. So them they will have to buy multiple units and we will be able to track these criminals. And stop them before any more harm can be done. Lmfao
