A Texas teen was arrested last Friday after being accused of stealing as many as 30 firearms from a gun range in Temple.

The suspect, identified as 18-year-old Esteban Allan Aguilar, will now face charges for burglary of a building, evading arrest, resisting arrest, and failure to identify.

Authorities said Aguilar was one of three men who broke into the Hawkeye Shooting Academy in April.

The group, all believed to be males around Aguilar’s age, snatched up the firearms from the shop’s display cases.

Earlier this month the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives offered a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspects.

Now with at least one of the perps in custody at the Terry County Jail in Brownfield, the goal is to get back the stolen guns as soon as possible.

“Recovering these firearms quickly before additional crimes are committed remains a top priority for ATF,” Fred Milanowski, ATF Houston Field Division special agent in charge, told local media.

There’s a lot of confusion in this country about how criminals procure firearms thanks to misinformation propagated by various gun-control organizations.

A 2019 report published by the Department of Justice (that actually surveyed prisoners in 2016) came to the following conclusions:

Not surprisingly (to law-abiding gun owners), the vast majority of criminals obtain their guns illegally, either through straw purchasers, the black market or theft.

The remaining criminals got their guns via a retail transaction, from a friend or relative or the firearm recovered at the scene was brought there by someone else.

While we hear a lot caterwauling from anti-gunners that gun shows (what they misguidingly refer to as the “gun show loophole”) are a hotbed for criminal activity, the survey found that only .8 percent of lawbreakers sourced their firearm from a gun show.

Something to keep in mind the next time some moonbat prattles on about the need to close the “gun show loophole.”

Anyway, ATF investigators are still looking for the other two teens that were with Mr. Aguilar. If you have information call the ATF at 1-888-ATF-TIPS.

Where in the article is it mentioned that this loon is a Mexican national? He may be a multi-generational immigrant whose family emmigrated here legally…..from Argentina, or Panama, or any sundry Latin-American country. The blatant gall to point him out as a” Mexican criminal dog”, or “piece of dog excrement” without knowing from hence he hails, is antithetical to the virtue signaling some of you clowns are so shamefully failing to convey. God help us all…..

Unfortunately, with our current covid practices, he was probably immediately released back into society!

The not so perfect DemonCratic Plan….Leave borders open , allow these Mexican criminal dogs loose in America. Knowing full well these dogs will break the law using, or stealing guns. Then the DemonRats use this as an excuse for Gun Violence propaganda. Take a DemonRat to Lunch day today. Take one to the zoo & feed them to a Lion.

He should have shoot himself in the back, during the resisting arrest.

I am at all in no way surprised by any of the facts in this article. Make gun theft and Unlawful possession of a firearm by criminals a one strike felony with life without parole or better yet, execution. I’m really not wanting people to die but at the end of the day, the choice has to be made, innocent law abiding citizens or criminals? I learned as a child, you follow the rules and you can enjoy all life has to offer and if you screw up, you loose it all.

Anyone can see that the grand larceny is NOT the fault of this fine young man. No, indeed. It is the evil gun owner(s) who offer him a the opportunity by daring to exercise their 2A right, despite angelic socialists so desperately, tyrannically mocking the Constitution to try to destroy that innate right and the measure of human dignity it signifies.

All gunshops and shooting ranges need to secure their firearms overnight in gunsafes, no matter how inconvenient.

why not use walk in vault like bank it s strong one???

    • Leighton Cavendish May 25, 2020, 1:13 pm

Same for all gun owners Larry? Your house is your “locked container”…or should be.
And when they just steal the safes and open them later?
Remember the days when you could leave your car or house unlocked and it would still be the same way you left it when you got back?
      You are victim-blaming Larry.

However sad and tragic it is to watch one of these turds throw their lives away, the real tragedy is that it costs the taxpayer as much to incarcerate them per year as it costs for a Harvard law school degree. That gun laws would attempt to be based on their criminal behavior all the more stupid.

  • Robert May 22, 2020, 8:59 am

And here is the problem folks “face charges for burglary of a building, evading arrest, resisting arrest, and failure to identify.” At what point do you see any firearm charges involved in this? Out of 23000 plus gun laws on the books and not a single one being used. I can see illegal possession of a firearm as for starters as if they are out stealing them most likely have a record already. If you do that as a 5 year per firearm then you have problem solved as wouldnt be out stealing them or any thing else. Oh thats right, if locked away like that then he couldnt vote democrat.

It was about 1990 that a review was performed of thousands of violent crimes somehow involving firearms. The authors stated that in NO case was any provision of the Gun Control Act of 1968 part of proving guilt in court, neither of being essential to the investigation to the degree they could find. Look at the pointless hassles and ineffectual costs this ignorant scheme heaps onto good citizens. It has been 30 years more after those first 22. Maybe something has changed, but I wager not at all or insignificantly so.

That’s just because he was in Texas where the authorities prefer to not enforce any gun laws. If this had happened somewhere like New York or any of the large cities in California, this kid would’ve had the entire book of gun restrictions he violated thrown at him.

Remember that dumb ass Plaxico Burress who actually served a few years in prison in New York for accidentally shooting himself in the leg in a night club back when he was playing for the New York Giants? There was NO VICTIM other than his own stupid ass and they still locked him up for a few years just for being in possession of a gun. Had that happened in Texas there is no chance he would have faced charges even though it is still technically illegal in Texas to be in possession of a gun inside a business that earns more than 50% of their revenue from alcohol sales regardless of whether or not you have a concealed carry permit.

Those tattoos under his eyes indicates he’s already murdered someone. He should automatically be executed. One day, not soon, after the majority has been victimized by these gangsters, it will come to pass.
