CCRKBA: How Come Anti-Gunners Never Blame the Murderer?

2nd Amendment – R2KBA This Week

Alan Gottlieb, chairman of the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, raised a very interesting question in the wake of the school shooting in Santa Fe, Texas.

“Over the weekend,” said Gottlieb, “Michael Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety was quick to push its gun control agenda, and the Alliance for Gun Responsibility was asking for donations to ‘take a stand…against the gun lobby.’ When was the last time either of these groups demanded swift justice and certainty of punishment for the actual perpetrators?

“Time after time, with endless fundraising appeals and inflammatory rhetoric, we’ve seen these anti-rights lobbying groups immediately try to shift blame to the NRA, or the Second Amendment, or the firearms industry, or some mythical loophole in the law,” he continued. “But they never seem to point their fingers at the culprit, and we think it’s time for the American public to ask why?”

Esquire Writer: ‘Okay, Now I Actually Do Want To Take Your Guns’

It’s true.  It seems like gun-grabbers are all too happy to shift blame from the guilty party to the gun lobby, gun owners, and gun makers.  By doing so, Gottlieb argued, “these lobbying groups have created a very strong impression that they’re not really interested in punishing criminals, but only in penalizing honest firearms owners for crimes they didn’t commit.”

“Time and again,” he stated, “we’ve heard these groups demand a national dialogue on guns. But how do you have a rational discussion with people or groups that repeatedly demonstrate that they cannot tell the difference between the bad guys and the good guys?

“They are so preoccupied with demonizing gun owners and eroding the Second Amendment that they have either lost sight of the goal of taking dangerous or deranged criminals off the street, or that was never their intention in the first place,” Gottlieb said. “If all they can do is blame innocent citizens while diverting attention from murderous monsters, then it is time to ask these people just whose side they are on.”

I would love for someone from the anti-gun lobby to address Gottlieb’s question.  Not going to hold my breath, though.  Because answering that question would be like trying to explain why one faults auto owners, automakers and the auto lobby for the misdeeds of a drunk driver.  Only with guns do they blame everyone but the responsible party.

There is a simple reason, why most proponents of restricting gun ownership (I abhor the term “gun control”. It’s a loaded word) never focus on the perps, responsible for criminal misuse of firearms. These people never call for harsher punishments for criminal shooters, for the most part, don’t support stronger police enforcement, say
nothing about no bail for felonious crimes, call for the abolition of capital punishment, etc. But by endorsing tighter gun restrictions or better, banning guns, they can pretend to be doing something about crime.

Why are the Millennials not asking themselves why it’s their OWN PEERS doing these school shootings????
No one is asking that, are they???
With a couple of exceptions, the vast majority of these shootings are generational, and yet they don’t or won’t talk to that point.

It isn’t until I had an interaction with one of them, that I really got to experience how truely fanatical and irrational their over-reaction to just about any weapon-like device is. Gun, knife, scissors, hammer or screwdriver , these are all instruments that only certain persons (of their chooseing) should use or ever have in their possesion. They are totally dependant on someone else to do anything.

Their agenda is to confiscate ALL guns so we (USA) can be like all those “good” socialist countries that allow no guns (like Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, the USSR, Venezuela, etc.). They (liberals, progressives, demoncrats, etc.) want us all to be sheep so they can control every part of our lives. Their aim is power and control. They say what they think people want to hear until they get elected, then they follow the socialist agenda. Vote them out. Vote in candidates that will work for the people they represent and not the agenda of people like George Soros, Michael Bloomberg, Gavin Newsom, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Diane Feinstein, Kamala Harris, Xavier Becerra, Jerry Brown, and any other moron like them.

I’m in complete agreement but that doesn’t fit the agenda.
The sole focus of most of these groups is a complete ban and confiscation of all firearms in public hands. The sad truth for them that they can’t seem to grasp is how virtually impossible that goal is to reach. What they can do it nibble away at the 2nd amendment a small piece at a time, which has been the tactic for the last 10-15 years and every headline with more senseless children’s deaths is gaining them quite a bit of ground recently.
Another sad truth is neither side can have a real discussion on the topic, both sides take an all or nothing attitude that negates any productive discussion. The NRA is equally at fault in this, I understand and agree that giving an Anti-gun group an inch is never enough as they will continue to reach for more however the NRA needs to take a calmer more thoughtful approach with the goal of at least appearing to be open for discussion. The hardline tactics are really giving the NRA and all gun owners a black eye in the public arena which is not helping the cause.
As for the anti-gun crowd, Turn the discussion around on them, ask for details on how their “common sense” gun laws are specifically going to prevent these crimes. Have a civil discussion but don’t let them escalate it to an argument, put the burden on them to prove their stance that new laws will prevent crime where the current laws have failed.

I wonder if any of anti-2A people would consider banning social media as a legitimate solution to the crime and violence that arises from this technology? Perhaps as a compromise, social media could be restricted to only those older than 18 with no criminal history.

Why? Because that’s like biting the hand that feeds you.

  • Infidel762X51 May 25, 2018, 8:47 am

They don’t hate the murder, just the gun and the freedom loving type of person who would own one.

  • Joe May 25, 2018, 8:23 am

If they would charge the people who enabled the killers as murderers also, like parents , LEO, anybody who knows they are dangerous and do nothing. Do you think things would change? Everybody wants to pass the buck..Food for thought maybe..

  • krinkov54t May 25, 2018, 8:04 am

But the mass murders to death pubilicly with in two days of the incident. Then we will see how deterrence works.

  • Darryl May 25, 2018, 4:28 am

but wait till the next drunk driver clear’s a path, it’s all the drivers fault them and not the car.

  • Dilligaf May 23, 2018, 10:16 pm

They never do. They want to focus on an inanimate object or someone else and blame whatever instead of focusing solely on the killer when it’s the killer that actually did the planning and work
