Armed Robber Fatally Shot in Neck By Concealed Carrier

Authors Defensive Use of Firearms S.H. Blannelberry This Week

A Philadelphia man fatally shot an armed robber over the weekend at a WingStop location on the city’s northeast side.

The 53-year-old suspect was wearing a mask and gloves when he entered the establishment Sunday, around 10:30 p.m., according to investigators.

“(He) walked in, went behind the counter, announced a robbery and asked for all the money,” Philadelphia Police Department Chief Inspector Scott Small told local news affiliate ABC6

“That’s when the robber pointed a gun at that customer and demanded his cell phone,” said Small, referring to the 27-year-old with the handgun and the valid concealed carry permit.

“(He) pulled his gun (and) fired one shot at the perpetrator, striking him in the neck,” Small added.

The perp would not survive the wound. He bled out on the floor.  Police indicated he had a criminal record, though the specific details were not disclosed.

As for the concealed carrier, the investigation is ongoing to see if his recounting of the incident matches what’s on the security cameras.

“We do have his weapon. We know that’s just one shot was fired from that customer because we found one spent shell casing on the floor on the customer side of the counter,” said Small.

If things check out then it’s unlikely that the young man will face charges.

One local resident interviewed had zero sympathy for the deceased robber.

“The guy that was robbing the place deserved what he got, in my opinion,” said Marius Maiellano of Olney. “Pull a gun on somebody, expect to get shot.”

This defensive gun use by a law-abiding citizen comes at a time when the city’s mayor is suing the state to overturn its preemption law, which blocks local governments from enacting their own restrictions on one’s right to keep and bear arms.

Proponents of overturning preemption want to, among other things, reduce the number of locations in which responsibly armed citizens can carry firearms, in effect, creating more soft targets for criminals.

In the lawsuit, they argue, “Respondents have allowed and continue to allow gun deaths and injuries to persist at appalling rates in vulnerable Black and Hispanic communities in our Commonwealth, and as a result, Petitioners have lost the lives of their children, family members, and residents.”

“Respondents are deliberately tying the hands of local governments, and people in the most affected communities will continue to lose life and limb so long as the barriers created by the Firearm Preemption Laws remain in place,” it continues.

Of course, it’s not at all clear, nor is it mentioned in the lawsuit, how disarming good guys with guns, like the concealed carrier at that WingStop, will make the city’s criminals less dangerous.

Gee, now we know what those ridiculous masks are good for, since they’re utterly worthless in blocking a virus.

Family of dead perp will receive $120million settlement from WingStop in “wrongful death” lawsuit.
Morally corrupt DA Krasner will be searching high-and-low for something to charge the righteous shooter with.

Well, at least this criminal wasn’t a complete criminal…He was dutifully wearing his mask.

At a WingStop? Looks like the perp got his wings

The perp must’ve been Caucasian Otherwise the Klingons would have spent all this week looting and burning Philly again, right?
    Just sayin…

At least in Detroit the Police Chief advised everyone to buy a gun, as police can not be there when you need them. Detroit Police, from my outlook, only come when bullets are flying and a body is laying. When you say it it rhymes, so may be in a urban music composition.

Left wing policies support Criminals. If you Voted Biden, this is what you voted for! Good luck too you when your guns are taken away, and the home invasion gangs start busting down your door and killing your entire family. Remember….it’s what you voted for!

They won’t make that connection. The morons on the Left live in an alternate reality created for them by the media and the subversive Progressive-Socialists in govt. They will blame Trump and his supporters for ANYTHING that occurs. Remember, half of America are “right-wing extremist domestic terrorists.”

Krasner the commie DA will claim the shooting was unjustified if the robber was going to get less than a $1000 from the store

Surprise surprise lefties helping the criminals. I have been saying it for years and no one believes me “crime is good for the economy”! It creates jobs which equals tax dollars, the bad guys spend the loot they get and the victims spend to replace what is lost which equals more tax dollars. And identity theft is a big one too, what usually happens,; the victim winds up paying off the damage while the criminal walks. Drugs are also treated the same way.
