Sign Petition Calling for Arrest of Anti-Gun Hypocrite Ashton Kutcher (Who Illegally Transferred Firearm, Allegedly)

Ashton Kutcher let his ignorance show in Twitter recently when he admitted to engaging in an illegal firearms transfer. (Photo: Ashton Kutcher Facebook)

UPDATE: We’ve started a petition calling for an official investigation into “Kutcher-Gate.”  Feel free to sign and share the petition!  Our Goal is 1,000 signatures.  Let’s if we can hit that!

Want a good “common sense” gun policy? How about legislation that bans actors and Hollywood types from pontificating on guns, gun laws, gun handling, and gun control? (The Reverend St. Keanu Reeves excepted, of course.)

Modern firearms have been around for decades, but movie directors still haven’t figured out that Glocks don’t hammer click, magazines eventually run out of ammunition, and the teacup-and-saucer grip hasn’t been used by actual operators since, well… never.

The latest gun-related bungle comes from Ashton Kutcher, the now 40-year-old star of That ’70s Show and subsequent mediocre romantic comedies. (So, an expert on gun laws.)

Kutcher, in response to the recent massacre at the Borderline bar in Thousand Oaks, Ca., took to Twitter to voice his support for stricter gun laws by explaining in all seriousness how he broke California’s gun laws.

Oops.

For those who don’t know, according to California gun law, private transfer of firearms must be “conducted with both parties, in person, through a fully licensed California firearms dealer.” The fact that Kutcher’s firearm was a “gift” doesn’t let him off the hook since firearms may only be given to immediate family or legal domestic partners.

Twitter users noticed. Lots of replies pointed out Kutcher’s clear ignorance of the laws he wants to change, and a few noted how Kutcher’s status means he likely won’t be charged with the crime he committed.

And one fangirl sounds like she’s about to break down.

Kutcher isn’t the first public figure to accidentally commit felonies during an anti-gun grandstand.

Earlier this year, Virginia congressional candidate Karen Mallard came under ATF investigation after she accidentally created a short-barreled rifle in an attempt to “destroy” an AR-15. She lost her primary in June and hasn’t made the news since.

Kutcher has yet to respond to the criticism surrounding his tweet.

There is no accounting for stupidity. Kutcher is a prime example. The real problem is not his words, but his ignorance of the law and our Constitution. And we elect fools like him to office?? We deserve what we get when any thinking person listens to claptrap like his.

  • Jose Pacheco March 12, 2020, 9:43 am

Guns don’t Kill people, People kill people 😡

May they drown in the abyss-of-laws they (progressives) wanted and created…too bad everyone else with a brain has to fight the current.

  • Stan d. Upnow November 24, 2018, 9:52 pm

Haha, let’s see if the rabid, foaming-at-the-mouth Progressive-Socialists in Commiefornia do anything about Kutcher’s crime.

    I won’t hold my breath.

  • wT November 24, 2018, 7:00 pm

Didn’t u know he be special he be a HOLLYWOOD STAR not very good one ! If this be regular ole joe oh damn

  • OKHunter November 24, 2018, 4:43 pm

Just want to point out, the “fangirl” who was “breaking down” is Kristy Swanson – a known conservative actress in Hollywood.
Flowers in the Attic, Deadly Friend, Pretty in Pink – Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
As far as I can tell she doesn’t support gun control, however, she very much likes to point out the hypocrisy of the liberal left, especially the Hollywood left.
The rest of her tweet was asking him why he thinks he and his friends are above the law – https://twitter.com/KristySwansonXO/status/1061271278579965954

  • SeppW November 24, 2018, 3:55 pm

Sign a petition? Kutcher will not/is not going to be arrested regardless.

  • David Kozmiuk November 24, 2018, 8:49 am

Good job Kelso! Or should I say dumbass!

    • Peter Brown November 24, 2018, 1:45 pm

You were right the second time. Meathead would also be appropriate for just another egocentric fool viewing himself as above-the-law.
Like a penn, a sheen or a deniro, they believe that pretending to be someone else imparts all knowledge. As such, they feel empowered to make decrees to the unwashed. Except for a few cowering few Conservatives, the balance of hokeywood can go to hell.

  • chris krupp November 24, 2018, 4:38 am

BEWARE OF THE PETITION !!! IT’S TIED TO PETA !!! I’m now getting bombed with their bull@#%! junk mail.

GA screwed the pooch on this one…………….

  • NavyVet1959 November 24, 2018, 4:08 am

I don’t agree with his idiocy on wanting more gun control, but aren’t you people who are against his statement being just a bit hypocritical? If you truly believe in the 2nd Amendment as written and intended by the Founding Fathers, you would be pointing out that the supposed “law” that he violated in Kalifornia is an UNCONSTITUTIONAL law since it INFRINGES upon the rights of their citizens to bear arms.

    • darryl November 25, 2018, 1:02 pm

what you say is true, but if we would go to jail for doing what he just said he did then he should go to jail too. not really that hard to see.

  • FB November 24, 2018, 1:49 am

The law is the law regardless if we like it or not. Nobody should be above the law nor get a rain check if they are stupid.

  • Ricky E Daughtry November 23, 2018, 6:51 pm

Kutcher is a complete dumbass that jumps on the most popular bitch that all those plastic fake people in Hollwood have climb on now. He does not have a clue what he is even talking about. the fake fool.

  • Leonard November 23, 2018, 3:07 pm

If people could think out a problem to its logical conclusion, we would not be having people asking for “gun control.”
There was a time when the singer Dean Martin got arrested for display of a firearm. He got out of jail and was surrounded by reporters. One asked him if he thought everybody should go around armed. He answered “No, not everybody. Just me.”
And that is the double standard that Hollywood still eschews. They make a living by play-acting with guns, but turn around and distance themselves from what made them popular.
I am tired of politicians yielding to the masses over what should not concern them. Bad people have always taken from good people unless the good people could stop them. Disarming yourself does not make you a better person, nor does it hinder those who would do you harm. And, a Hollywood actor has no idea about what happens in the real world. They are also NOT real world leaders, and their opinions are best kept private.

  • grifhunter November 23, 2018, 2:15 pm

I don’t get the outrage. As far as celebrities and guns, Kutcher is one of the least offensive. He was a hunter and he and his hot wife are gunowners. He may have a Fud sensibility, but, he is hardly deserving of the azz pounding being handed out. He hasn’t advocated confiscation on a 2nd Amendment repeal. Leave the irrational outrage to the leftists.

    • Hanoi Janey November 24, 2018, 2:48 am

Would you know a leftist if you saw one?

  • David Blakeman November 23, 2018, 12:56 pm

    To Mr. Ashton Kutcher;
An old saying comes to mind every time I see where some actor (?), director, or self styled all knowing sage from LA-LA land opens their mouths. “Make sure that brain is engaged, before putting mouth in gear.” They all hide behind their armed body guards, in their gated communities, with the local police department ready to pop up on a seconds notice, to serve and protect. In the real world it doesn’t work that way. The law doesn’t serve and protect, they clean up the mess after the fact and try to figure out what has happened.

My neighbor’s house was broken into several years ago and the sheriff showed up four days later to investigate the crime. Now I’m not saying that they were not doing their job, it’s just when you have 20-30 deputies per shift covering the 5th largest county in the state, you just don’t have the manpower.

So it is up to me to serve and protect me and mine. And until you have lived like the rest of the world, keep your opinions to your self.

    • Jack November 25, 2018, 7:49 am

Back in the early 90’s I was living in Sacramento in an apartment that was in a not so good neighborhood when one night my garage got broken into and I had some items were stolen so I called the police to report it and the dispatcher said “Well, we’ll send you a report in a couple days and you can fill it out and send it back with the items you lost and maybe some of it will turn up eventually” at which time I responded ” I lost a 12 ga. shotgun too” and then the dispatcher said with a more interested voice ” Oh, we’ll send an officer right over” At that time I learned that non-violent felony’s were regarded as child’s pranks in California unless a gun was involved.

  • Hondo November 23, 2018, 11:14 am

Ashton isn’t too bright to begin with so with that being said it’s only natural that stupid shit flows from his pie hole.

He should be mocked unmercifully for the dumbass that he is.

  • Alan Dinehart November 23, 2018, 9:56 am

If you realize that the government has no say in what we do with our ‘arms’ you can’t then ask the government to enforce an illegal law!

    • justjim November 23, 2018, 11:13 am

Quite the dilemma you’ve pointed out there, and rightly so. Still, since the full weight of the law enforcement gang would/will be employed against you in enforcing unjust laws, it is some justification for employing that same force to pillory those that are instrumental in implementing that injustice in the first instance. Hang them with their own rope.

  • joefoam November 23, 2018, 9:52 am

Another example of celebrity not equating to intelligence. The weak minded fools who worship the stars cannot separate the person from the characters they play.

    • Davud November 23, 2018, 11:38 am

Indeed. It’s why they do things like name an airport after John Wayne.

      • Maglide November 23, 2018, 8:18 pm

Probably one of the few good things they’ve done. How’s about a few laws named after John Wayne as well?

The John Wayne Come into this country legally law.
The John Wayne pull your own weight law.
The John Wayne Get a Job law.
The Hollyweird Shut up law. (Sam Elliot, Tom Selleck Excepted)

  • Eric November 23, 2018, 9:43 am

This should be the day that an example gets set for people like this who believe they are above the law and think they can pay their way out of everything.

  • CountryLogic November 23, 2018, 9:14 am

“Kutcher isn’t the first public figure to accidentally commit federal felonies during an anti-gun grandstand.”

This isn’t a federal law, Its a a California law.

  • blasted cap November 23, 2018, 7:35 am

Maybe we can have the Anne Arundel County MD Police serve him with a Red Flag order and the problem will be solved permanently.

  • DEFENDER November 23, 2018, 7:33 am

YOU – Need to “Get a Clue”.
Evil people will always be able to get guns, or knives or bombs or whatever to kill people.
“Selfish” is not doing the work needed to be prepared to stop the Killing.
You will probably not even “get” this concept but I will try anyway.
The best, and most sure way to stop a mass shooter is to shoot him down, quick.
It takes having a gun on you to do that, plus the training in how to use it.
And there are a great many of us out there who “can” do that. It is why we train and
carry a gun for Defensive use – for us and “you”.
By the time the Cops get there it is way too late.
These Gun Free Zones you have created have now become Death Traps.
You need to “Get a clue”. And Stop making the problem worse.

Hypocrisy all these anti gun people everything that’s been said here is absolutely correct/ never touched his gun no pun yeah sure I bet he’s got a collection plus bodyguards

    • deanbob November 23, 2018, 7:01 am

Hypocrisy is not unusual for a liberal progressive.

      • Smitty November 23, 2018, 7:55 am

        Deanbob,

Not saying this to cause friction but, saying liberal progressive is like saying liberal liberal or progressive progressive. They are one in the same. The liberals keep changing their name hoping you won’t know who they really are. It’s like a socialist form of cammo and it doesn’t work very well because the same crap keeps spewing from their pie holes.

  • Derek Viana November 23, 2018, 6:37 am

Actors should stick to acting that’s what they are paid to do but they’re going overboard hiring them to purpose laws to their fans what bs I bet he never fired it oops !

  • mike November 23, 2018, 6:03 am

Ashton can turn that gun in anonymously at a gun buyback and get a gift card for free groceries.

  • John November 23, 2018, 5:55 am

This is for the moron who commented on this article. He is beyond stupid as he missed the whole point of the article. While these holier then thou ya ya land livers preach to us common folk, they haven’t a clue what real life is like without armed body guards and walls with razor wire surrounding their multi million estates. But it is okay for them to make millions on movies using firearms to kill and maim people and then expect no one to do the same in the real world by someone who is mentally handicapped and got a firearm the same way Kutcher did, out of a trunk of a car in a dark alley being sold by a gun runner. Oh and I love how when they do make these action movies with guns, how when the good guys come in to save the day you hear all these clicking noises of guns being made ready to fire. When in real life, if you were a good guy going after a bad guy with a gun, you would be dead before you could pull the slide back. I think they go in with weapons loaded and ready to fire. If you are going to make millions off of guns being used in your movies, stop preaching against their use by the general public and get off your fucking high horse that you know everything about life, when you haven’t a clue what the average American goes through to live from day to day, and the real dangers that we face, not fake made up shit that you asswipes make millions off of.

    • Tom November 23, 2018, 7:10 am

good call john!! couldn’t have said it better. it always amazes me how these people get up on their high horses n preach to us deplorables while making millions off the garbage they call entertainment using guns, sex, violence, drugs all the things were not supposed to do!!! only in America!! (well i guess canada too)

  • WillieS November 23, 2018, 5:32 am

Once big brother prohibits gun ownership by those with toe nail fungus the anti gun crowd will have won. Needless to say this would be but one of many liberal left
reasons to deny your RIGHT to.defend yourself and your family. Y
Try it. You may NOT like it

  • Daniel Burns November 23, 2018, 5:10 am

This is for the moron fuckthissite, Gun control has nothing to do with safety. It’s about gun confiscation and people control. You can ban guns, bows and arrows, hatchets, spears, cars, trucks, swords, box cutters, knives, sticks and stones. But you will never disarm EVIL. Jim Jones killed 900 people with Kool Aid.

  • pjw November 23, 2018, 3:39 am

The point that is trying to be made is, that celebrity’s pontificate on matters they have little knowledge or understanding. Would someone calling for a law that would limit the ability of actors to practice their craft,
without any acting experience be valid judge of the laws workings? Celebrity’s believe some how they have
experience and understanding in matters, in which they have none.

  • Fuckthissite November 20, 2018, 11:49 pm

I disagree entirely with this article. You’re taking a tweet meant to try and help stop the rampant spread of violence across our country and twisting it for your own agenda. While he did indeed break the law, a law which is in place in order to stop people from getting guns illegally in order for them to be used harmfully, he didn’t even want it. He never even shot it. So I agree, make him go face a judge and answer for the henious crime he committed, but while you’re doing that people are taking action and slowly but surely we’re making guns harder for the wrong people to acquire. So quit trying to shift focus from the MASSACRE and take a good long look in the mirror, ask yourself how you can live with the selfish actions you take, think about the families who lost their loved ones in a shooting while you typed away online attempting to keep your gun laws the way they are. Before I end this rant I want you, the reader to ask yourself, why do you care if guns are harder for people with evil intentions to get? Do you think you’re one of them?

    • Another fucktard November 23, 2018, 5:02 am

After your big rant. Ask yourself one great question. How many criminals follow laws to legally own firearms?

    • Dr Motown November 23, 2018, 6:52 am

As a law-abiding gun owner (unlike Ass-town Kutcher) who’s never hurt anyone, I have a question for you: how is taking my guns away going to make you any safer?

    • Tj November 23, 2018, 7:42 am

      • Hondo November 23, 2018, 9:22 am

        It’s ( you’re ) .

    • JR November 23, 2018, 8:51 am

It doesn’t prevent jack. No law does. Laws punish people AFTER something that a mob thinks is wrong and deserves punishment has been done. For some reason, the people who want to control others are allowed to tell other ignorant, impressionable and gullible people that this law or that law is “the one” that’s going to “prevent” crime, murders and violence and it’s accepted as a fact. “Just one more, we promise just this last one.”

As “Another fucktard” questions below, how many criminals follow these laws to obtain firearms. The answer? None.

I will ask another question, riffing off of “Dr Motown” below: How does making it harder for my family to defend themselves and their property as they see fit keep firearms out of the hands of, as you put it, people with evil intentions? Answer? It doesn’t.
No other group of laws is allowed to operate in this fashion and affect basic human rights so. I will admit, the goal is not to take away firearms. It is to make the ownership and use of them so onerous and difficult that eventually the people lose interest. They don’t have to take them away, see. They only have to pass enough control laws that incidental contact with law enforcement leads to the discovery of personal firearms.

Imagine if a law existed that a misdemeanor could cause a loss of certain basic human rights. Specifically, let’s talk about the right to self-defense. Law enforcement could go look at the firearm registration database which is exactly what “universal” background checks are about, and now your right to self-defense has been denied by the government.

Instead of setting the existence of violence squarely on the shoulders of private ownership of firearms and the owners, we could work together to streamline the process for individuals or their families to obtain mental health care if they need it. Remove the stigma of simply asking for help when you need it. Maybe even improve the quality of and research into mental care. Maybe not make these individuals who might only need camaraderie or a friendly helping hand and be afraid to ask for it not feel like they’re derelicts worthy only of our scorn, fear, mistrust or shame.

I also look to the day when we start RFID chipping children “for their safety”. I mean, we already do it for pets, why not “the children” since it’s all about their safety. They know they can’t just pass a law that requires it but get enough wacky, control-freak parents to implant their babies and soon an entire generation will think it’s normal. You’re whereabouts, contacts, purchases, etc. constantly tracked. Is it worth it to prevent just ONE murder?

Such a pitiful and disgusting few use Facebook or other platforms intentionally to hurt others or to advocate violence, should we shut those down and ban their use if it saves just ONE life? I’m sure most of these human control proponents would sing the virtues of social media and bemoan their potential loss. Those same people would probably find some personally-owned forums abhorrent and in the same breath, advocate for their shut down. See, it’s not about common sense or safety or saving just one life. It’s about control. They want to choose what’s good for you and what you can and can’t do.

Let’s look at alcohol which kills 88,000 a year according a story I recently read. If one death could be prevented, we should consider banning alcohol consumption. Think of the indirect deaths that a ban could prevent. Would it be worth it? No, of course not. Think of all the lost revenue for the states and why should a reckless and irresponsible few ruin what is just a joyous and simple way for responsible adults to pass the time together.

Some will look at these arguments above and claim false equivalence or false analogy or the like. Perhaps, but it is not I who attempts to get my way and control others with the argument, “If it saves just ONE life, it’s worth it and this law should be passed.” If one considers a life taken by someone wielding a firearm is worth more than another, who is the morally bereft one?

    • Jay November 23, 2018, 10:06 am

Your so called “rampant spread of violence” does not exist. It’s only in the media and their lies which apparently you in your stupidity have fallen for hook, line and sinker! Want to make things safer, how about you go after the Doctors who kill three times more people from malpractice than all gun crime combined each year!
