American Tactical Inc., or ATI, is expanding on their FXH-series of lightweight Model 1911 pistols with the new FXH-45M, for Moxie. The full-size Moxie has a hybrid polymer frame with alloy reinforcements.
The Moxie is a modernized 1911 with extended, ambidextrous safety levers, an enlarged beavertail grip safety and skeletonized hammer and trigger. The slide profile is unique to the FXH and is compatible with Glock handgun sights and is optics-ready for mini red dot sights
The FXH-45M weighs just 31 ounces unloaded with its mostly polymer frame, even though it has a full-length slide and barrel. It’s chambered for 45 ACP and uses standard 1911 magazines and comes with one 8-round mag.
Like other hybrid FHX pistols the Moxie’s frame has finger grooves for more grip, an oversized trigger guard, and a railed dust cover for laser sights and weapon lights. What makes it stand out, though, is the price.
The FXH-45M has a suggested MSRP of just $399. Real-world and online pricing will likely be even less than that. ATI also sells top plates for Burris Fastfire and Trijicon RMR and compatible red dots, so for not much more users can add suppressor sights, a mini red dot and a light for the whole package.

The Moxie pulls this off with a slightly simpler slide design than the other FHX pistol but also with a less expensive parkerized finish on the steel components. The slide and barrel are still 4140 steel with the barrel left in the white.
The Moxie, along with the rest of the FHX 1911 series, is 100 percent made in America. At this price point it’s an attractive optics-ready package for anyone looking for a fun, light and affordable single-stack .45 for the range, the nightstand or everyday carry.
While it doesn’t have the traditional lines and style of most 1911s, that can be a good thing, and the Moxie sure does stand out, with its interesting set of features and very low price.

ATI started pushing this gun again recently. I emailed them because they have had these hybrids on their website for years with an out of stock notation. They said that there were coming out soon. Their web still shows them as out of stock.
Have an AR with an ATI polymer lower. Thousands of rounds no issues so when I saw they had a polymer frame 45 I was all about it. So far 100s of rounds (Handloads) through it no issues. Accurate.
, outstanding trigger. I found a review on YouTube where a guy took one down to sear and mainspring. Said the parts appeared to be polished from the factory like like higher end guns are. I have to say the trigger is amazing. I’ve had Colts with custom triggers jobs and out of the box this is by far best trigger I’ve ever had. I may of got lucky but my 15 year son who has never shot a 1911 before loves it.
