Biden’s Joint Speech to Congress: What do you think deer are wearing kevlar vests?

2nd Amendment – R2KBA Current Events S.H. Blannelberry This Week

Joe Biden has said some dumb things over the years with respect to guns and the Second Amendment.

If you’ve been keeping track, you know he has told folks that ARs are “harder to use” and “harder to aim” than shotguns.

He has also advised homeowners who feel threatened by a potential invader to empty their double-barreled shotgun into the air, “fire two blasts outside the house.”

Cops should shoot knife-wielding attackers “in the leg,” as opposed to center mass, according to Uncle Joe.

And, part of the reason why one should support a ban on “assault weapons” is because cannons were “outlawed” during the Revolutionary War.

None of that is true or accurate or sound advice, as you all know.

Wednesday night before a limited, joint session of Congress, Biden continued his trend of putting his foot in his mouth.

“In the 90s we passed universal background checks. A ban on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines that hold a hundred rounds…that can be fired off in seconds. We beat the NRA. Mass shootings and gun violence declined. Check out the report over ten years.”

That sounds plausible but the problem is it’s not true.

If you check the actual Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) report, as our friends over at the NSSF did, what you’ll realize is that the Clinton-Era ban on so-called “assault weapons” and “high-capacity magazines” — “did not reduce crime rates,” per the analysts.

When that ban expired in 2004, violent crime and the homicide rate, which had already been on the decline, continued to decline while at the same time ownership of Modern Sporting Rifles (MSRs) skyrocketed.

Today there are more than 20 million MSRs in circulation, as the NSSF notes, and with the exception of the pandemic year of 2020, crime rates have been at historic lows.  Despite what Biden would have you believe, the country became safer as the sale of AR-15s and other black rifles spiked.

Another inane rhetorical ploy Biden tried was to frame the right to keep and bear arms in the context of hunting.

“Talk to most responsible gun owners, most hunters — they’ll tell you there’s no possible justification for having 100 rounds — 100 bullets — in a weapon,” he said.  “What do you think deer are wearing kevlar vests?”

While the 2A protects the rights of hunters that wasn’t why the Founders and Framers included it in the Constitution, as you all know.  The 2A was enshrined because it’s a safeguard against tyranny.

What Biden and his gun-grabbing minions don’t understand or refuse to consider is that ARs with drum mags are kryptonite to despots and dictators.  Sure, whitetail deer don’t don Kevlar vests, but jackbooted thugs, working under the auspices of Big Brother, do.  And that’s precisely why we need ‘em.

Biden ended his pitch for gun control with this little ditty, “No amendment to the Constitution is absolute… We’re not changing the Constitution, we’re being reasonable.”

Right.  Because the reasonable thing to do is to strip people of their right to keep and bear arms when we’re living in an age characterized by a global pandemic, widespread civil unrest, calls to defund local law enforcements, mass surveillance, endless money printing, and central planners who believe the future is one in which you will own nothing and you’ll be happy it.

Where would that party be without lies and obfuscation? In addition to being able to own a cannon, men could also own a fully equipped war ship with multiple cannons if they could afford it. The lies and distortions grow more epic every day. They’re free to modify any amendment except the first 10. Those are reserved for citizens, not government. Come try…

  • Griffendad May 3, 2021, 9:36 am

As Joe said “as a safeguard against tyranny”.
We need it just for that reason more than ever, or at least since the Civil War.

  • REAL America May 3, 2021, 8:40 am

    Utter horse droppings.

What unbelievable b.s.!! I would say someone should let him know that the outcome of the last 10 year “asw” ban did nothing to curb any gun violence. But this speech is one lie after another. He’ll say anything even if what he says is absolutely wrong and inaccurate, like his so-called “epidemic” of gun violence. Check the stats SLEEPY, the only places where gun violence occurs on a regular are the cities that have a criminal/gang problem who will never obey your stupid and ineffectual laws! An armed citizenry is much safer against crime.

These are very dangerous people, just look at what they have done so far including manipulating the election. What and who is backing them, what are we the people not aware of? Why was Pelosi so confident about Biden winning the election – Why was Joe so lax in campaigning? They knew something was going to be in their favor ahead of time. Where are all the investigative reporters and why are they not digging into this administration? This administration is destroying our country and needs to be taken down. Look what they did to Guliani!

  • ray April 30, 2021, 11:02 am

The second amendment is about being able to go against a tyrannical government! Joe knows that the very reason he wants to limit your ability to fight!

  • Dilligaf April 30, 2021, 10:34 am

The 2nd Amendment WAS NOT written about hunting or deer. It was written to protect America and American citizens from a tyrannical government like anti-American liberal pedophile joe biden wants.

When that tyrant says “We the people means we the government”……… that is damn scary and shows this tyrants true intentions

You must have missed it but Biden’s choice to head up the BATFE, Chipman, say’s that only 10 round magazines are “OK” for the law abiding US citizens. So will you turn you 30 round magazines in when this fake POTUS Biden calls upon you to do so?

  • J-Bo April 30, 2021, 9:21 am

I’ve held the opinion for many years that the anti-gun crowd know full well why the 2nd Amendment was incorporated into our Constitution. They may be illogical, but they aren’t dumb. They use many smoke screen excuses / issues as to why we need to restrict, regulate, outlaw, and confiscate firearms. But if they were honest they’d admit it’s only because the 2nd Amendment is a threat to their tyrannical agenda.

  • Kane April 30, 2021, 9:20 am

    POG MO THOIN

  • Richard Toscano April 30, 2021, 9:09 am

Biden knows nothing about guns or for that matter nothing about anything. He’s a total idiot. Who has a gun with a 100 rounds? Hunters are always stopped by Game Wardens. They check their guns and permits. I hate to say anything bad about a president, but he is a total asshole!!!

  • No1Hunter April 30, 2021, 9:07 am

Hey, its just Booby Biden reading what Obozo wrote for him to say. He is clueless about firearms and the world in general. God save the USA!!!!

  • Kelly April 30, 2021, 8:41 am

Biden’s comment was accurate. You don’t need 100rd mags to hunt dear. Or even 30rd mags. The authors comment that 100rd mags were needed to combat tyranny seems rather ignorant. If they were needed, Seal Teams would be carrying them. My 30rd mags are heavy enough and more reliable. We SHOULD watch out for FAR- left socialist radicals. We agree on that. But the author failed to mention the FAR-right fascist radicals. Thay are just as much a threat to Americans and American democracy.

    • J-Bo April 30, 2021, 9:33 am

I don’t have any 100 round magazines either. Personally, I’m a big fan of 20 round mags. However, I would like to respectfully point out that the tyrants are experts at incrementally chipping away at our rights. First it’ll be ban the 100 round mags, then 30, then 20, etc. Then one day we wake up and realize just how much we’ve lost. My thought is don’t give them an inch of ground on any thing regarding our 2nd Amendment rights.

    • S.H. Blannelberry April 30, 2021, 9:59 am

You’re getting caught up on the 100 round mag detail. Biden and the Dems want to seize and destroy any mag over 10 rounds:

I don’t think anyone on the far right is insisting on sending boys into girls bathrooms, filling our military with gays, then requiring us to pay for their sex change, flooding the country with illegals that we will be forced to clothe and feed for the rest of their lives…… should I continue? Because I can type an entire page of things that the leftists are doing that will or are ruining this formerly great country.

    • No1Hunter April 30, 2021, 10:50 pm

LOL – Biden isn’t thinking about 100 round mags, he is thinking about anything above 6. To think otherwise “seems rather ignorant.”

    • DELCO May 2, 2021, 2:25 pm

UGHH, Kelly 100Rd mags are actually common among certain units. Why would you throw something out hear you know nothing about. And Biden said your 30round mag would also be a no no. Stick to laundry and keeping your AOC t-shirt nice and clean.

    • Big Al 45 May 4, 2021, 9:55 am

      His comments are stupid.
And on that note, MOST States regulate Deer hunting, and MOST States don’t allow those mags for hunting.
Colorado restricts the mag to 5, for example.
So really, he truly IS an idiot, and makes moronic comments, so non analogous as to call into question his state of mind and logic.

  • Griffendad April 30, 2021, 8:30 am

So good guys get 10 rounds while the bad guys continue with 30 rounds. Poor odds, I’ll pass.

  • John April 30, 2021, 8:22 am

Joe is off his rocker and has been for years as we know. Now he is just a puppet for the 2 female radicals sitting behind with their fashion masks attached.

    • Kenneth Ragan April 30, 2021, 9:24 am

So…no amendments are absolute Joe?……time to get me some slaves then I guess… I am getting blamed for it anyway…. I need some help around the house. Who needs the 13th amendment then right Joe?

  • Paul April 30, 2021, 8:09 am

” “No amendment to the Constitution is absolute… We’re not changing the Constitution, we’re being reasonable.” ”
Says the man who has had armed guardians for more than half of his life!
Trying to start a civil war, Joe??

    • a11four1 May 3, 2021, 10:00 am

      “We’re not……….”, “We didn’t……….”, “I won’t………..”, “No! I didn’t……….”, (and equally popular) “They do……….”.
      “I’m sorry, it won’t……………”.

Ask any parent, divorcee, or abuse victim how often they hear statements predicated in exact same manner.
No reliable way to poll this, I’ll wager many of us who question those very same ‘promises’, are likely to have higher standards in mind and live according to the law.
We’d prefer officials do the same.

Biden’s comment on what is or not absolute, and response [here Kenneth Ragan April 30, 2021, 9:24 am] on 13th amendment is a brilliant, terrific rebuttal.

  • krinkov545 April 30, 2021, 8:02 am

And Hunter’s violations of current federal gun laws? Not to mention drug laws and laws against sex with a minor. Though so!

  • Wilko April 30, 2021, 7:48 am

Deer? No, but the poor, deluded fools that may, one day, attempt gun confiscation might be.

  • Mike D April 30, 2021, 7:43 am

…most hunting rounds will zip right through a Kevlar vest…..

  • graceythecat April 30, 2021, 6:36 am

These silly communists, they think the 2nd Amendment is for hunting! We are responsible to assure that we protect our country from the enemies from outside our borders and from inside our borders and they are in a big hurry to make sure that they disarm Americans so that these silly communist democrats can hand our country over to the communist Chinese and Russia!
Remove all of these communist democrats from office! period.

  • Huapakechi April 30, 2021, 5:26 am

Do any of these hoplophobes realize how heavy 100 rounds of any caliber are? The weight destroys accuracy, and they jam frequently.

    • DELCO May 2, 2021, 2:33 pm

HUAPAKECHI, can you please explain why 100 rd mag would jam more then – 20-30rd mag? I’m not saying I use a 100rd mag but would like you to help us all understand what would cause more rounds to affect the function of the weapon? Would love to learn something new after decades of Gun smithing /Armorer work .

      • Lraincoop May 3, 2021, 8:18 am

        Delco,
I’d vote for spring causing issues in high capacity mag. I remember trying to use a 50 rd mag in my old 10-22; after some issues with hanging/not loading, I bought a few more factory 10 rd mags. Longer springs tend to hang up more – IMO. But that doesn’t give Uncle Joe the right to arbitrarily ban magazines of any random size – what about my 16 round tubular magazine on my 45 yr old 22 rifle?? Is that an “assault rifle”?
