Boy Cries After Mall Santa Tells Him No ‘Nerf Gun’ for Christmas

An Illinois mall Santa resigned this week following an incident that left a little boy in tears.

The boy’s mother, Sabella DeCarlo, recorded the exchange and put it on social media.  It didn’t take long for it to go viral.

What brought the boy, Michael, to tears is when Santa, who was working at the Harlem Irving Plaza (HIP) in Norridge, told the youngster that he would receive “no guns” for Christmas.

“Not even a Nerf gun,” Santa said in the video. “Nope. If your dad wants to get it for you that’s fine, but I can’t bring it to you. What else would you like? There’s lots of other toys — there’s Legos, bicycles, there’s cars and trucks. What do you think?”

“It’s OK!” said Santa, as Michael became upset.  “Don’t cry.”

Ms. DeCarlo quickly interjected, telling Michael, “You’ll still get it.”

In a Facebook post on Sunday, DeCarlo wrote, “My poor baby. This was the first year Michael was excited to go see Santa. It was supposed to be magical but instead I had to watch my sweet little boy fight back tears because Santa told him No because of his own personal beliefs.”

Following backlash on social media, the Harlem Irving Plaza announced that that Santa had “turned in his resignation” because he was “heartbroken and crushed that he has made this child so sad and upset.”

Additionally, HIP made good on Michael’s wish.

“HIP immediately contacted the family and worked with our Santa company in hopes of rectifying the situation. We are happy to report that the “real” Santa visited the boy at his home today to bring him a nerf gun!  We hope we restored Christmas magic to this boy and his family with Santa’s special visit,” HIP said on Facebook.

“The HIP is thankful for our valued customers,” they continued. “We invite you to please watch and share this new video in hopes of restoring Holiday magic to everyone!”

A perfect example of how eager liberals are to abuse even the slightest position of power, even at Christmas, and even with children.

Consider the effects of your children’s teachers (predominantly liberal), their entertainment exposure (predominantly liberal), input from their friends (probably predominantly liberal).

This is why we are losing the battle for our children’s minds.

Santa needs to leave his politics at the freakin door! These are children not political pawns for you to brainwash! If you don’t like guns, that’s fine but don’t you dare try to poison a child’s mind against them! Stupid parents will do that job just fine. Believe me there are plenty of them out there. Some of you do way too much hollywood!

I remember when a lefty relative was bragging to me about how *her* son would never get a toy gun. While she was saying this, her little boy was running around her yard with a stick with a bend in it yelling “BANG”. Apparently, he had more imagination and intelligence than her.

I have a Mattel Thompson machine gun I got in the early 60’s with S&H Greenstamps. I have a grenade you put one cap in and threw it, if it hit just right it would fire the cap. I have two muzzle loader rifles, you put a sticky cap on the pan, and it would shoot cork balls. I have a set of roll cap shooting 6 guns. I used to watch Westerns on the old B&W TV, with my Dads Arisaka with an intact crysthanamum ‘bring back’ resting on the sofa arm to pick off the bad guys. In 8th Grade, I was in a play where all the boys were asked to bring a rifle, but please no ammo. 16 boys marching around with everything from a Daisy BB gun, Daddy’s double barrel, to a Garand, marching around in the school auditorium. My kids got similar of what was available as they grew up, finally ending up with Ruger 10-22’s. My family has been armed from infancy, and we have not robbed, shot or killed anyone, including ourselves.

Hopefully Santa’s elves can get to work and make an AR15 for this fine young man in a few years.
My daughters were quite happy when Santa brought them matching AR15s for Christmas one year.

If I could get some contact information for the parents of this kid, my coworkers and I will be happy to send a full truck load of Nerf products to them before Christmas gets here.
God bless America and all those who uphold our nations constitution.

Obviously this “Santa” is an anti-gun freak who thinks he/she (because it sounds like a female in the video) needs to spread their ideas no matter what the cost. The article said the “Santa” resigned because they were “heartbroken” to have made the boy cry. he/she should have kept their beliefs to himself and catered to the child’s wishes. I hope he/she gets a lump of coal for their Christmas present.
