California Congressman Introduces Bill to Ban Guns Near Ballot Counting Locations & Polling Places

California Congressman Raul Ruiz introduced this week H.R. 4722, the “Vote Without Fear Act.”

Designed to “prevent armed intimidation at the voting booth” the legislation bans the possession of a firearm within 100 yards of a “federal election site.”

A federal election site includes both polling places and ballot counting locations.

“In recent federal elections, we have seen an alarming rise in armed intimidation at the voting booth,” said Rep. Ruiz in a press release obtained by GunsAmerica

“Every American should be able to exercise their fundamental right to vote without intimidation or fear for their personal safety. My bill, the Vote Without Fear Act, will help protect this sacred right by keeping our polling places free from the threat of armed intimidation. With my legislation, we will safeguard the integrity of our democratic process and ensure the safety of all Americans on Election Day.”

On-duty law enforcement officers and hired security guards are exempt from the ban. Lawfully owned firearms secured in homes and/or vehicles within 100 yards of the federal election site are also exempt.

“The ability to vote freely and without fear must be protected, but unfortunately gun extremists are increasingly trying to threaten our democratic process by intimidating voters and election workers,” said Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action.

“Congressmen Ruiz’s legislation is one that will ensure safety and security at our poll sites and one that we’re proud to support,” she added.

Speaking of voting, incidentally, Arizona is currently in the midst of an audit of the 2020 General Election for ballots cast in Maricopa County.

Twitter’s been on fire, as the results are expected to be presented in the coming days.

Armed voter intimidation? From who? Leftist radicals?

Poor Joe. I will not insult him, as I know he’s just another inductee to CNN propaganda. You can always identify them, as they are the ones slinging insults at people, when none were made towards them.

Or maybe he doesn’t want people defending themselves when his BurnLootMurder and antifa buddies show up to attack people “they don’t like”?

Oh brother, what a BRAIN-DEAD IDIOT! This guy is an example of ignorant, close minded, illogical people that say things that indicate this stupidity and lack of education.
“Defend themselves?” Another idiot wild-west cowboy gunslinger, yea, we gotta protect the women and children so we should ALL CARRY GUNS ALL THE TIME – THAT WOULD STOP THE BAD GUY – wow, people like this really are poster boys for the ills of DFarwinism.
How can anyone with even a high school education makes such stupid, ignorant comments?

Joe maybe you should look at the numbers. Areas where CCWs are common have the lowest crime rates. Maybe if liberal cities like Chicago allowed their mostly minority citizens have CCWs they would be able to protect themselves, and all those wannabe Gangsters who kill innocent civilians might think twice. This law is a joke. How about securing our borders so that our inner cities don’t keep having poor uneducated criminals dumped into them. Aren’t the inner cities ruined enough. But this clown and liberals like him are worried about good real citizens having a CCW. Get real…

If this were so, this would be big news. Another democrat making another useless law.
