An Affordable Pistol Sight Adjustment Tool

See a need, fill a need. That’s the foundation of American ingenuity. While browsing through new ads coming onto GunsAmerica a couple of weeks ago, I happened upon a nifty homemade tool for adjusting the rear sight on a pistol. We’ve all gotten guns that came from the factory not shooting to point of aim, and while it isn’t an expensive gunsmith visit, it’s still a gunsmith visit. I’d rather have a tool I can bring to the range and adjust it myself, and also have to help others who I see dealing with the same issue. Read More…

Jennings Machine Sight Pusher and TruGlo GLOCK Sights

When you start upgrading your guns, you will quickly get to the sights. Removing them, though, and putting new ones on can be tricky. Making the fine adjustments needed for accuracy requires delicate pressure. Jennings Machine and Tool has a new sight pusher design that makes this work easy. We are putting it to the test with a small GLOCK and an exquisite set of TruGlo Tritium Fiber Optic Sights.

Guncrafter Industries 9mm CCO--Review

Guncrafter Industries 9mm CCO–Review

There’s a reason why so many people have gravitated toward polymer pocket pistols for concealed carry. 1911s, though beautiful, tend to be a bit bulky and temperamental. I can’t begin to tell you how many times I’ve seen them fail. But what if you could have a single action custom built for your specific concealed carry wish-list, and one that would never fail? How much would that be worth? Today we’re looking at just such a gun, a 9mm CCO from Guncrafter Industries–and we’ve spent some time in their shop to see how this level of perfection is possible.

5 Reasons Why I Love .40 S&W

5 Reasons Why I Love .40 S&W

Our esteemed editor recently went on a rant about what he considers to be the Jan Brady of handgun ammunition. I think he’s delusional. There’s a lot to say about the .40 S&W, and very little of it is negative. Someone has to stand up for the .40–and I’m stepping up to the challenge. Here are 5 reasons why you should respect the round.

My Ruger SR45 Saga – New Isn’t Always Perfect

As much as I might judge a company by its product and initial quality, I give equal (if not more) consideration to how they handle problems. You can fix a gun–you can’t fix a bad customer experience. In the video I’ll show you and tell you everything that was wrong with the SR45 I purchased, and then I’ll show you how Ruger’s customer service team handled it. Get a fresh cup of Joe and watch the saga!

A New Line of Cabot 1911s–SHOT Show 2015

The news from Cabot is welcome, for sure. They’re putting out a value line of 1911s now that cuts some of their previous prices in half. They may not have as many cosmetic extras, but these guns are smooth and rack like their more expensive brethren. Check out what’s new at the top of the 1911 food chain.
