Check Out this Steal of a Deal from MGM: 2 Steel Targets Under $200!

Two great target systems for under $200.

On this week’s edition of “Please Stop Being the Sort of Turd Burglar that Shoots Mufflers and Glass Bottles all over the Public Land out West,” I present to you two great targets for under $200: The AR500 10-inch Hex Steel Challenge Set and 6-inch Sportsman Series Colt Speed Plate Autopopper from MGM Targets. This is a pretty cool setup, perfect if you are starting to gather your training tools.

The Hex Steel Challenge set includes a 2×4 stand and a 10-inch AR500 steel plate. All you need to provide is a 2×4. The 10-inch plate is a great size target for new shooters. It provides all the challenge a novice needs with a pistol at 10 meters, and as your skills develop, it will still be a challenge at 50 meters.  For drawing practice, it is a great size to keep your fundamentals sharp.

The other half of this smoking deal is the 6-inch Autopopper plate that includes spikes to secure it to the ground. It will react to rounds as small as 22LR, which helps keep the kids interested. For us grown ups, I have shot mine as close as 300 meters with 6.5 Creedmore.

The mount for the steel plate.  All you need is the 2×4.

Much better than shooting car mufflers or microwaves.

This is a great little set to get you started in action shooting, with a level of safety you will never achieve shooting washing machines and jalopies. In the realm of money spent on the hobby of shooting, steel targets are an excellent investment. They provide years of fun and training time, they’re a great way to get newbies involved, and they teach you about your own skills in a way paper never will.

Great shooting for all, regardless of your skill level.
