Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot will not take responsibility for the rash of violence plaguing the Windy City.
Instead, she’s playing the blame game once again, pointing her finger directly at the federal government.
“This is a national problem,” Lightfoot said in response to a recent mass killing that left four residents dead and another four injured.
“What we will likely learn as the details become clearer is that illegal guns continue to plague us. Gun violence continues to have a deep and painful history in our city,” Lightfoot continued. “Unfortunately, Chicago is not unique. We are part of a club of cities for which no one wants to belong, cities with mass shootings.”
Looking at homicide data since 2013, this year is on pace to be a record year with 294 killings through June 12, 2021.
“Cities individually cannot tackle this problem. We just cannot. In Chicago, we’ve done absolutely everything possible, and we need help from the federal government,” Lightfoot said. “When guns are so porous that they can come across our borders as we see every single day in Chicago, we know that we have to have a multi-jurisdictional, national solution to this horrible plague of gun violence.”

The notion that city leaders have done “everything possible” is laughable, as Fox News’ Tucker Carlson pointed out in a recent video.
“Lightfoot banned the police from chasing criminals, even in the case of some very serious offensives. And her D.A. refuses to prosecute many crimes,” explained Carlson on the city’s change in policing following the death of George Floyd.

“The results? Nearly 200 more people have been murdered this year than last [2020 vs. 2019 homicide numbers]. Many more dead people, hundreds. Yesterday, there was yet another mass killing in Chicago,” he continued.
Turns out, when a city uses kid gloves when dealing with violent offenders, bad things happen. As Tucker pointed out:
The third mass shooting in just over a week, each one of them was a far greater human tragedy than anything that happened at the Capitol on January 6. But as the bodies in Chicago accumulate, the people who run the city barely notice. In fact, they make it possible. Four days before Christmas, a 28-year-old named Marvin Flanagan murdered a man during a home invasion. Flanagan should have been in jail at the time. He was a five-time felon with convictions for armed robbery. But officials let him out, and he promptly committed murder.
This now common in the city of Chicago. Marvin Flanagan is just one of the dozens of criminals who’ve been let out of jail in Chicago recently, only to go on to shoot or murder someone else. Lori Lightfoot did this. But she accepts no responsibility for doing. Instead, she blames firearms, and demands more money from the federal government.
Is Tucker right? Is Lightfoot’s approach to crime, giving hardened criminals a slap on the wrist and releasing them back out onto the streets, which is tantamount to pouring gasoline on an open fire, a money play?
Given that the Harris-Biden Administration has earmarked $200 million for a “New Community Violence Intervention Program” in its Fiscal Year 2022 budget, it just might be.
All that pork is up for grabs and Lightfoot, it would seem, wants to ensure Chicago can make a compelling case that it needs that money as much, if not more, than any other city in the country. Doesn’t matter how many poor black and brown people have to be sacrificed in the process.
That’s a really cynical assessment of Mayor Lightfoot, but given her milquetoast treatment of violent offenders, it’s hard to conclude otherwise. Well, It’s either that, or she’s a complete moron.
Federal gun laws are not the problem. Brain dead liberals that run Chicago are! You can’t enforce the laws that are already on the books and you blame the feds because you don’t do your job!
Of course that vile beetlejuice locking democrat blames others for her failures, she is a democrat. That’s what they do.

Lightfoot only needs to look in the mirror for her answer. As long as her radicalized vision of a dystopia is clouding her judgement, Chicago will never be free of violence. She needs to clean house and by that I mean clean up the gangs and gang violence. Until she does that, nothing changes. But in the meantime let’s blame someone or something else. She’s in over her head and I’m dumbfounded she was even elected. Drastic times call for drastic measures: Raze every abandoned, inhabitable structure, enforce the law, job creation, help for the homeless, destitute, and mentally ill, basic education, affordable housing, access to healthcare and dental, to name a few.
This runs contrary to the liberal dystopia where the elite rule, enrich themselves at others’ expense, and where there are no criminals, only crime. Lightfoot is not going to go against that. Chicagoans need to wake up and take stock that decades of mismanagement, corruption, and failure of government has gotten them into in a maelstrom of hopelessness and denied opportunity.
Call in a few airstrikes on the gangs, destroy their hangouts,haul the trash to the dump and clean up the streets but then get rid of the bums in office (career politicians) enforce marshal law and enforce the law to the letter,oh, and throw the crooks that can’t seem to back up law enforcement in the dumpster trucks and compact their asses for the dump.Just a thought

What you see there may be extrapolated to other Democrat controlled cities such as Detroit, Baltimore, WA D.C., New York, Pittsburgh, Portland, Seattle, etc. This is the story not being told by the lame stream media. Instead, we are treated to the latest fake noose story, fake Trump story, or fake “insurrection” story.

I have a good friend who lives and works in Chicago, and we’ve discussed this at length. His position is: maybe the city is corrupt, but it works. The garbage gets collected, the streets get plowed; it works. Who cares about the rest of it? He tends to be a pretty sensible guy, but on this he has a true blindspot. I guess the murders don’t happen in his neighborhood, so it doesn’t matter. One day I hope he’ll open his eyes and see the truth of the sewer he lives in. When he (and others) start voting differently, things in Chicago will change. But not until. Keep electing complete morons and you’ll keep letting the sewage get deeper and deeper.
