Urban gun enthusiast Colion Noir made a brief appearance on the “Adam Carolla Show” a few weeks ago. During the interview, Noir talked about the number of guns in the U.S., hardening schools as a way to address mass killings, and the pragmatic mindset of daily carry.
I should note that it’s Not Safe For Work (NSFW). Carolla drops a few F-bombs during the podcast. So, watch it at home or in a non-P.C. Safe Space.
Noir’s been on a tear lately. In the past couple of months, he has also done interviews with Joe Rogan and Bill Maher. What a win for the gun community. I mean, who better to enlighten gun agnostics than the calm, cool and collected Colion Noir?
Part of the interest in Noir, I think, stems from the fact that there is a real thirst out there for level-headed, honest gun talk, something that the mainstream media, by and large, refuses to provide to its viewers. We live in an era now where facts and common sense are pushed out into the fringes of public discourse. Which is why outsiders like Rogan and Carolla and Maher have such massive audiences. They’re still willing to tell the truth!
Seriously, while one may not always agree with their point of view, one recognizes that they’re willing to have a somewhat serious and in-depth conversation about an issue without the agenda-driven pabulum that infects CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, FOX, MSNBC, etc. They’re willing to come to the table with an open mind. And, more importantly, they’re willing to be wrong.
What I’m saying, in essence, is that yes, standup comedians are replacing journalists and conventional media as the go-to source for news and information. No longer can one’s intellectual curiosity be satisfied by the traditional three-letter networks. It’s a sign of the times.
