Concealed Carry Reciprocity Legislation Teed Up for 2021

2nd Amendment – R2KBA Authors Current Events S.H. Blannelberry This Week

Rep. Hudson on Fox News in 2017 discussing the importance of national concealed carry reciprocity. While his bill that year failed to become law, maybe things will be different in 2021.

On the first day of the 117th Congress, U.S. Rep. Richard Hudson (R-NC) introduced the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2021.

Like previous iterations of the legislation, the goal is to restore one’s right to bear arms during interstate travel.

“Our Second Amendment rights do not disappear when we cross state lines, and H.R. 38 guarantees that,” said Rep. Hudson. “The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2021 is a common sense solution to provide law-abiding citizens the right to conceal carry and travel freely between states without worrying about conflicting state codes or onerous civil suits.”

“I am especially proud to have such widespread and bipartisan support for this measure and will work with my colleagues to get this legislation over the finish line,” he continued.

One hundred and fifty-four lawmakers have co-sponsored the measure, including some House Democrats.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation, the firearms industry trade association, celebrated the bill’s reintroduction.

“This legislation provides an answer to the confusing patchwork of laws surrounding concealed carry permits, particularly with regard to states where laws make unwitting criminals out of legal permit holders for a simple mistake of a wrong traffic turn,” said Lawrence Keane, NSSF Senior Vice President and General Counsel.

“It safeguards a state’s right to determine their own laws while protecting the Second Amendment rights of all Americans. We thank Rep. Hudson for his leadership on behalf of America’s hunters and recreational shooters,” Keane added.

Along with allowing those with valid permits to carry from state to state, the bill also allows residents of Constitutional Carry states to bear arms around the country provided they obtain a permit for reciprocity purposes.

The U.S. House passed carry reciprocity legislation back in 2017 by a vote of 231-198.  However, the U.S. Senate never brought the bill to the floor for a full vote.

Many pro-gunners believed the passage of some form of concealed carry reciprocity was a shoo-in with the election of president Donald Trump in 2016.  But alas, it didn’t happen.

With a close eye on the Georgia runoffs, maybe this will be the year for national concealed carry reciprocity.

I’ve been donating to the Republican Party but will not any more until national reciprocal is passed .ive even supported pro second amendment Democrats running against gun grabbers. Some places Republicans just don’t have a chance so if you are a real pro second amendment Democrat I support you in blue states. I guess you can tell I’m a libertarian.

As I’ve said numerous times here in response to various articles, the “political” fight is over. The Dimocraps now control both the executive and legislative branches of government. Hell, based on recent rulings and decisions, you might as well say they control the judicial branch as well. There is nothing standing in their way to prevent the most profound assault on the 2nd Amendment since it was written and adopted. Let there be no confusion, it will be successful. There will be no “grandfathering” and there will be no 10 year expiration. It’s coming. Sure, parts of this massive infringement of 2A will be challenged, but “for the greater good”, likely in the spirit of a public health crisis – think “WooHoo flu” – these challenges will ultimately fail. Where exactly is your “red line” ? Which side of history will you be on ?

This is nothing more than Republican Virtue Signaling. Why do they always wait until shit like this doesn’t stand a snowball’s chance in Hell of being passed to introduce it? Why now? If they really cared to get this done, it would have been introduced when they had the power to get it passed.

The Republicans are using this as bait to keep us on the hook. They are just as bad as the Democrats and the NRA; They campaign on issues that they never actually fix, and throw out half-hearted efforts every now and then, or as in this case, toss out a sacrificial lamb that is destined to die, so that they can point to it and say, “See? We tried to fix it, but the other side blocked us. Please donate so that we can continue the fight.”

    Fuck them all! I’m done!

Sure it will happen. Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

  • Joe January 8, 2021, 3:58 pm

It’s ashame your so stupid, keep listening to PBS in your truck, so because of you we have a president that can’t complete a sentence, great job, hope you like socialism

This will fly as well as the turkeys dropped from the WKRP helicopter.

If the CCP is allowed to send troops here, that would guarantee bloodshed. We saw how easy it is to enter the Capitol yesterday. Conservative, freedom loving Americans are now faced with the only 2 solutions for survival…..secession or the message contained in the Va. State motto.

  • Clint W. January 8, 2021, 10:56 am

The Repubs had both Houses and a Prez in 2016-1028 and they didn’t get it done, just like they didn’t get a lot of things done near and dear to our Conservative hearts, like ending funding for PBS, in that 2 years. This attempt falls into the ice cube chance in hell category.

    • Clint W. January 8, 2021, 10:58 am

That was supposed to be 2016-2018, perhaps 2028 was a hoped for vision, but with their track record, they would probably continue to sit on their thumbs and still give PBS millions if they had another 12 years.

  • Barton Bennett January 8, 2021, 10:22 am

The only way any Bill like this gets passed is if it is buried in a another larger bill focusing on another larger issue.
    This House & Senate will
Never pass this as a stand alone bill.

    • david clarke January 8, 2021, 10:45 am

Stop kidding yourself. The anti gunners who now control the White House and Congress are coming for us with metal detectors. Nothing is going to slip by.

  • Mike in a Truck January 8, 2021, 9:01 am

This is the Uniparty speaking. Political posturing is what they do. Why must we go through this turmoil every 4 years just to retain out God Given Rights? Because it keeps us divided that’s why. In the meantime these traitors installed machines designed to steal elections. We are way past “using the political process” and “adhering to the rule of law”. The CCP has infiltrated every segment of our society, bought off most politicians, actors, newscreeps, and college professors. Now the CCP has offered to send 250,000 troops to D.C. to insure a “peaceful”. inauguration. Wake up people- we’ve been sold out.

      Mike in a truck,

Please take some time to seek professional help for your mental health issues. Installed machines designed to steal elections?? You are way out of your mind. How can you be so ignorant?? Were you one of the raving lunatics in DC?? You certainly fit right in.

      • Shanz January 8, 2021, 2:46 pm

Yeah I know. There was no election fraud. Our super honest trustworthy freedom loving media would have told us huh? Bob people like you make me embarrassed to be a human. Go suck on your Democrat masters tits.

      • Jimbo on the elephant January 8, 2021, 3:28 pm

Bob just stop showing us who you actually are. Just plain ignorant. I would go on but that about does it

      • Willie-O January 10, 2021, 4:43 pm

Bob (and kneel – get used to it):
The U.S. ranks 57th in the world. I repeat FIFTY-SEVENTH for election fraud. 1st (FIRST) being the best and having the least election fraud. We are 57th BOB !!!! 5 – 7…….YOU are the one in need of a reality check genius.

  • TERRY POHLAND January 8, 2021, 8:09 am

If Reciprocity wasn’t allowed to be brought up for a vote in the Senate in 2017, what makes anyone believe that it would be possible for any chance of success now? Schumer is our enemy, and he will never allow a vote.

  • Blue Dog January 7, 2021, 12:39 pm

Barking into the wind. Empty fascist-signaling nonsense. This won’t happen. Maybe we can get some common sense gun violence legislation in the next session, but why are we even wasting our time with this hollow gesture?

    • Jay January 8, 2021, 2:39 am

While you’re right about this being a pointless gesture I’m wondering what “common sense gun violence legislation” you’re thinking we need. If it’s anything other than increasing funding for mental healthcare and mental health research and/or some very well funded, broad, and generous poverty ending programs you’re some combination of gun-grabber, pearl clutcher, and glue eater.

  • Give Me Freedom January 7, 2021, 4:58 am

In my opinion within two years there won’t be a 2nd Amendment anymore and the rest of the Bill of Rights will be shredded along with it. Democrats have stolen all the levers of power now mainly with voter fraud. Short of the Hand of God I do not see who will stop the tyrant laws that are coming in 2021.

    • SuperG January 7, 2021, 10:21 am

Sadly, I have to agree with you. America, as we have known it, died 1/6/21. Once they pack the Supreme Court, all of our Constitutional rights die. Then we become a vassal state of the CCP. I can see CCP “peacekeepers” on our soil within 5 years.

      • michael January 8, 2021, 5:41 am

Then I suggest stocking up you’re going to need it. Train hard.

To the Congressman ; Exactly where in the Constitution does it say I need the States permission to begin with ? Contitutional Carry is law of the land.

    • Jay January 8, 2021, 2:41 am

Your Hand of God “miracle” just requires you and every other person who fears this to get off the internet, pick up a rifle, and make your oppressors fear your name.

      Get to it.

      • Avenger1948 January 8, 2021, 11:10 am

        After you

    • William P WozniewskiIf January 8, 2021, 7:07 am

If you didn’t notice people have had enough, the people will soon be taking back our government from the corrupt democrats.

  • Kevin January 6, 2021, 12:45 pm

WTF. You had 2 years with republican control of the house the senate and white house. You did nothing. Then after you lose the house, senate and white house and now you try to push it thru?

    • Robert Lee January 8, 2021, 8:43 am

Right wing virtue signaling? It’s time we realize Republicans and Democrats are 2 sides of the same coin. They are all members of the club and we ain’t in it. If there’s any justice in this mess it is the irony that once their Chinese masters take over they won’t be elite anything, just more slaves…

    • Charles F January 8, 2021, 9:11 am

That period of “control of the house” was a poorly disguised place-keeping by RINOs (we’re speaking about YOU mr. Ryan) where every meaningful scrap of legislation meant to benefit American citizens was relegated to the peanut shells & other detritus on the floor of the halls of congress.
With every effort to ham-string the newly ELECTED president spooling up, those self same RINOpresentatives shuffled around with hands-in-pockets just hoping that they could survive the cycle and fool people well enough to get re-elected.
We’re in for a mighty rocky “near future” since any true patriots surviving the latest culling in D.C. will be struggling to overcome the inevitable pressure to “C’mon man, let’s all -just- get along” (capitulate).
