Convicted Robber Fatally Shot Trying to Rob Again

2nd Amendment – R2KBA Authors Current Events S.H. Blannelberry This Week

An armed and previously convicted robber out on parole was shot dead this week trying to use a fake $20 bill at a Houston convenience store.

The 56-year-old suspect, whose name has not yet been released, pulled a gun on the store clerk at the Super Qwik Food Store when the worker refused to accept the counterfeit bill.

The perp then opened fire, shooting one shot just inches away from the clerk.

As the suspect maneuvered to go around behind the kiosk where the drawer was located, the clerk retrieved a gun and returned fire.

“Luckily and fortunately for the convenience store clerk, he had a gun with him. He was able to return fire,” Sgt. Horn with the Houston Police Department told KHOU

“The suspect or the robber collapsed here at the store. He was transported to the hospital where he died later,” Horn added.

Though it has yet to be released to the public, Sgt. Horn says the footage depicts a harrowing encounter.

“From what surveillance shows, (the clerk is) very fortunate to be alive right now,” Horn explained. “The bullet that the would-be robber fired at him was only a few inches away from him.”

Investigators have said the case will go before a Harris County grand jury to determine if the employee will face charges for using deadly force against the would-be robber.

But at present, all signs suggest it was a lawful case of self-defense.

“As of right now, it appears this shooting is completely justified,” Horn said.

Per KHOU, the suspect had spent time in prison for a previous robbery committed last summer.

He’ll be fired from corporate for defending himself.

    Bad career choice.

I remember picking up a firearm at my FFL and several convenience store owners were there buying firearms. They were wanting to protect life, liberty, and property.

  • Dexter Winslett July 6, 2020, 10:39 am

Do not rob people. You may live longer.

  • Delta Foxtrot July 6, 2020, 10:30 am

Was the con black? Was the clerk white? If yes to both, don’t worry. BLM will judge the case and determine the con’s life mattered and riots will ensue. Were the con and clerk both black? If yes, BLM determines that the con’s life DID NOT matter as black on black murders are fine. When the footage is released and the violent primordial parasites get a glimpse, rioting in Houston begins, we will know the answers to all the above questions.

Cant fix stupid, oh wait, he just did!

  • Tom July 6, 2020, 9:27 am

Wait . . . this is BS. A clearly lawful self defense shooting and the defender must be cleared by a grand jury? Why? The law in that state needs to be more clear and defined.

Not a good career field nowadays, wouldn’t you say. Recidivism cured, One shot at a time.

don’t you just love a story with a happy ending.

    • Tom July 6, 2020, 9:30 am

Its NOT over yet. If the perp was black and “George Floydish” and the defender a “white crakker” having to face a grand jury thats half black or liberal . . . good luck with that.

      • Delta Foxtrot July 6, 2020, 11:06 am

You missed the third “k” in crakkker. The only acceptable form of racism left is against white people. Maybe eradication of all other races but white is a good cure?

Your hitler is showing.and good lives matter no matter what the color.
Scumbags and bigots who act on their evil should nourish worms

  • LHTwist July 3, 2020, 10:41 am

It’s unimaginable that we’d waste time and money to send such a case to a grand jury in order to determine whether or not the clerk acted in self defense.

    • Douglas Zimmardi July 6, 2020, 6:35 am

Probably went to a grand jury to appease the mob over race relations

      • TexizzBoy July 6, 2020, 9:08 am

        Exactly!

    • jeff July 6, 2020, 4:09 pm

      Yes… it’s taxpayer money…BUT

It is critical to tell the story LOUD and OFTEN that bad guys are stopped by GOOD GUYS WITH GUNS.
It is also critical to repeat to the public that we have a RIGHT and OBLIGATION TO SOCIETY to self defense.

  • Godfrey Daniel July 3, 2020, 10:37 am

With all the backward thinking in this country, I’d be surprised if the clerk isn’t fired.

  • Leigh July 3, 2020, 10:09 am

Maybe when they sell their EBT card for half price they are getting fake bills in return?

  • Leigh July 3, 2020, 10:08 am

Well…his career is over for good now.
How is the clerk’s hearing? Going to be OK?
Should sue the parole board and state for letting a dangerous felon back on the streets.
Maybe sue the family for raising a thug….

  • Zupglick July 3, 2020, 9:50 am

Why are we wasting Taxpayer money on a Grand Jury investigation?

  • skipNclair July 3, 2020, 8:31 am

Shame on this clerk, he should not have had a gun for protection, he should not have taken it upon himself to protect himself. He should have called the police so they could come many minutes later. had he gotten a recording to please contact this number for a crises counselor as most police calls today are handled through them, he should have hung up dialed that number and informed the perp that help was coming for both of them. Perhaps offering the perp a beer while they waited would have calmed the misguided guy enough to put his gun down and with the store clerk patiently wait for the arrival of the crises counselors. Please help support the crises counselors and centers in your city. Remember when seconds count call a crises counselor, both the victim and perp will feel better in the end.

    • Zupglick July 3, 2020, 9:48 am

I hope you feel better after venting your sarcasm.
      It WAS sarcasm wasn’t it?

  • Mike in a Truck July 3, 2020, 7:54 am

Didnt soon to be canonized St.George Floyd try to pass a fake $ 20.00 bill? And isnt his former employer suspected to be in the counterfeit business, among other things? And that stupid cop also worked with St.George for the same crooks? I’m thinking there was a hit out on Floyd and this cop found the opportune moment to conduct it. And dosnt I35 run from Minneapolis right down through the heart of Texas( I know it splits). Hmmmm…

  • ted July 3, 2020, 7:46 am

GOOD OUTCOME ! We know that he was prohibited from owning a firearm if he had a previous conviction AND was out on parole. Then, instead of leaving , you pull an illegal firearm out and discharge it ? I see this as the perp succumbing to an occupational hazard !

    • Trevor Teague July 3, 2020, 9:30 am

Armed robber, who was mortally wounded while attempting to rob and murder a store clerk, died of COVID-19.

Where are these idiots getting all these fake $20’s?

    • krinkov545 July 3, 2020, 9:11 am

The counterfeiters should put George Floyd’s portrait on just to save some hassle.
